  1. If you have XBL Gold, will Reach solo Campaign rank you up faster than it would if you had Silver? Also, does Campaign Scoring rank you up faster?
  2. My hopes for Halo's story, as it would make for some epic FPS missions and one of the greatest science fiction stories ever made. What is known: FORERUNNER --the Didact is for certain the Ur-Didact --the Librarian is dead - Chant-to-Green took her place as Lifeshaper --the Iso-Didact was still alive after the firing of the Halos (Bornstellar) --343 Guilty Spark was Chakas --there was a forerunner colony in another galaxy far from the reaches of the Halos (the most probable place the forerunners fled too after reseeding the galaxy) --that 6 of the original 7 Halos remain (from the Lesser Ark) --that a city of nearly 2 million people had been composed (end of Halo 4) --the Ur-Didact's interest in Cortana (...."this evolved ancilla") HUMAN --Master Chief was/is the only Spartan 2 left alive --humanity has begun cataloging all the halos and forerunner artifacts in their galaxy --humanity has also begun to integrate their technology with forerunner technology --Dr. Halsey was kidnapped by the Storm Covenant, obtained the Janus Key. The key was split in two: half was kept by Dr. Halsey, the other was given to Spartan Gabriel Thorne --Cortana supposedly died/ended service after the destruction of the Ur-Didact's ship --Cortana was created/found by Dr. Halsey on Reach, in an ancient forerunner complex, housing a crystal FLOOD --even a single flood spore can house the memories and intellect of every flood being before it --originated from powdered Precursors --used as an act of vengeance upon the forerunner race --no cure - even though it is eluded that humanity had a cure, this was later discredited when it was revealed that the flood had simply receeded from human space, not infecting them --supposedly destroyed at the end of Halo 3 COVENANT --Arbiter has returned to rebuild his home world --Storm Covenant was/is a covenant fleet sent to Requiem after being founded in 2553 after Halo 3 --now in the possession of Dr. Halsey and part of the Janus Key MY STORY PREDICTIONS Halo 4 set the story: Master Chief, awakes the Ur-Didact, bent on the destruction of the human race to prove that they are unworthy to bear the Mantle of Responsibility. Ultimately, it would seem as though the Didact failed, his ship destroyed, and he himself is MIA. though there would be a darker plot afoot. What-ifs: The Ur-Didact mentioned on his ship, through voice overs, the "secret you have kept from me........this evolved ancilla". My question is, what is the only ancilla created after the Ur-Didact was put into stasis or the only ancilla the Ur-Didact may not have ever seen or come into contact with? There are 3 answers: Cortana who is made by Dr. Halsey, the ancilla the Librarian gave to Bornstellar or...... Offensive Bias. Offensive Bias was made between finding the Ur-Didact and the firing of the Halos. But it is never mentioned that he saw or interacted with this ancilla. Offensive Bias was more cold and calculating, but in the terminals seemed very..... human like or personable shall we say. Gender is never mentioned as it is an ancilla so gender is irrelevant. May extrapolation is that Cortana was/is Offensive Bias, merely re-written by Dr. Halsey. Which would still leave the canon that she was "made" by Dr. Halsey but alter Cortana's own backstory, making the plot I have devised even more intriguing. The Ur-Didact can clearly be heard speaking in the epilogue of Halo 4. His speech is directed at Forerunners, that much is made very clear. He seems to be addressing a collective. Knowing that forerunners survived and ultimately relocated to another galaxy. To which galaxy, I dare say the one that was discovered by the Librarian in the time before the last Forerunner-Flood War. It would make sense that they ultimately chose to relocate there because of the abundance of Forerunners, and because of the Organic Domain they had on that world. And further extrapolation would suggest the forerunners to have survived the halos firing would have also moved out to that galaxy, it would only be fair to suggest that forerunners are once again a powerful civilization (having been given 100,000 years and having the technology they had taken with them to those other forerunners in the other galaxy, it would only be fair to say they have become larger in scope). Which would mean that the Ur-Didact was sent, along with the raw data collected by the composer, to Requiem (as eluded to in Spartan Ops via the episodes) and then left for this galaxy (Or the speech he was giving was a foretelling of the story for Halo 5). Master Chief is a human Spartan 2 soldier. That much we understand. However, it was noted that, when humanity was reseeded on the world Erde-Tyrene, the geas left by the Librarian was removed from humanity. Everybody was screened before departing from the forerunner ships, and all traces of the Librarian were removed. Though, the Librarian herself mentions the "gene plans" she had placed in "you". As well, the line "1000 lifetimes of planning", which would mean the Librarian has an active knowledge of Living Time, meaning she could not have been just a "recording". I would venture a guess as to say the Librarian survived the firing of the Halos. To what extent I do not know but I can speculate that she may not be forerunner anymore (AI/digital or perhaps even.......flood). Back to the Master Chief; he was spoken to by above mentioned Librarian. She apparently activated the gene plan she had implemented in humanity years before hand. Now there are two explanations: (1) it really was a gene plan enacted by the Librarian after the firing of the Halos and the reseeding of humanity or (2)......it was brevet mutation. The chamber the chief was in when this occurred was observed to have a view of the outside (direct view of the stars and space, as required for any mutation). Something else that is interesting is that when you see Master Chief's face in the Legendary epilogue of Halo 4, he has no eyebrows. Curious. The game developers make a point of ensuring all of the other human characters have eyebrows except the MC. Now, please enlighten me as to who has no eyebrows and is a member of another species? Answers: the Arbiter and ....the Ur-Didact. Every forerunner seen has had no eyebrows, which is interesting. Now, to be more clear as to why I believe the MC underwent a brevet mutation: the Ur-Didact underwent a brevet mutation before composing his army, and became immune to the Composer, which is exactly what happened when MC was "accelerated" by the Librarian. The flood are not done, never will be. Halo's story line is dripping with Flood everywhere, to eliminate the possibility of the Flood returning to the franchise would be dismissive as they are crucial to the story. Now in which manor they come back, I am not sure, though I guess as to a few ways. MY PREDICTIONS TO SUMMARIZE AND CLARIFY: I believe Cortana is Offensive Bias in one form or another. --she will be found alive and well, though ashamed and upset that she never told MC --she will also be the most controversial character in this trilogy of games, my reasons are below in the MC section The Ur-Didact will assemble the forerunner race in force to strip humanity of the Mantle, as the Ur-Didact wishes to prove the Precursors wrong that Humanity was meant to inherit the Mantle --he may or may not become infected by the flood (would be cool to see) --I do not believe that he will die (or if he does, he will have made peace with the MC) --I think the ending to this trilogy will see him and humanity 'together' in some form or another The Librarian is alive, though she may be flood infected, helping humanity to inherit the Mantle through 'alternative ways' --she and Cortana have a plot afoot involving the MC --has a vested interest in the MC and humanity (more than a forerunner would) Now for a plot twist: I believe that the Master Chief is actually Bornstellar Makes Eternal Lasting. Now I have many reasons to believe as such. --the Librarian had prior knowledge of him, his suit, and his ancilla --refers to him as 'You' and addresses him a less than formal manner different to how she addressed Dr. Halsey in Requiem --preformed what I believe was a brevet mutation on him - which if you watch all the Halo 4 cut scenes you would notice MC's height difference from start to finish, Commander Palmer is dwarfed by him in the epilogue, yet is only a few inches shorter than him when they first meet. --and he has no real back story, that he refers to that is known as fact --Dr. Halsey has a vested interest in him, more than any other Spartan --yes I know, he is supposed to have 6 fingers, but that could easily be explained. --it was mentioned that Bornstellar could return to being a maniplar if he so desired, and so I believe he did, so he could live the way he intended to It is my belief that the Master Chief is Bornstellar because I believe there to be more in depth back story as to the departure of the Forerunner's from the galaxy. MY VERSION OF HALO BACK STORY: I believe Bornstellar had himself put into stasis with Offensive Bias. When he went into stasis, he said the lines: "Wake me when you need me." to Offensive Bias, and so humanity found them some years later. Dr. Halsey being assigned to the project, interacted with Offensive Bias first, and having done so, integrated her own mind with its, thereby making Cortana. Halsey explained that a living forerunner, especially one that was a warrior-servant (knowledge gained through their time conversing) would be a valuable asset to humanity. Though, Halsey explained further, it would be a liability if he were to remember who he was, and what he did. So, Cortana rewrote his memory, giving him made up memories of a life he would have lived as a human. The Spartan 2 program started, with new technology garnered from Cortana and Master Chief (suit, interface, etc.) (1) Librarian: She survived the firing of the Halos on earth, and watched over humanity. Currently lives on earth, and has yet to found. (2) Librarian: Survived the firing of the halos, though was infected by the flood. Made a pact with the flood to eradicate the forerunner civilization, and to give humanity the Mantle. GAME PLOTS - FUTURE MEDIA I believe Halo 5 will focus mostly on the retrieval of the Janus Key and Dr. Halsey. Halsey will then at some point during the course of her rescue reveal a partial truth to MC about Cortana and him, and what they really are. She will say more about Cortana's origins rather than his, as she feels it is Cortana's responsibility to tell MC the truth. She then reveals that with the Janus Key, it is possible to find Cortana (Offensive Bias) using it (the All Record). Further along in the story it is revealed that the flood is alive, and has infected the Storm Covenants forces, and that an inner war between the flood and the Covenant ensues - near the All Record. The Ur-Didact towards the end of the game, jumps out of slip space with an army of forerunners and prometheans - near earth, in the epilogue. I believe Halo 6 will focus more on the retrieval of Cortana from the All Record, and the information she has in regards to MC and humanity. I think this is when the Flood will reveal its true nature, in and that it wanted humanity to attain the Mantle, not forerunners, and in order to make this a reality, it had to draw out the remaining forerunners using MC and humanity (this is probably when the Librarian will reveal her pact with the flood to ensure humanity's survival). In order to save humanity, MC rushes through slip space with the help of the Flood to Earth, and confronts the Ur-Didact. Upon realizing his inevitable defeat, he makes peace with the MC, revealing to him that he is Bornstellar, whilst Cortana confirms it. The Didact then realizes what he must do in order to stop the flood........ too many hypotheses to list, suffice to say, it will be a grande finale. CONCLUSIONS Though I may be completely wrong, and many of my ideas have there fair share of holes in terms of explanation. I believe at least some of what I posted is true. More so the idea that Master Chief is not John the Spartan 2 test subject. He may not be Bornstellar, but he most definitely is not the man he thinks he is. Also I believe the portion involving Cortana is true, that she is either Offensive Bias or the Librarian's ancilla that was given to Bornstellar. I believe she will play a vital role in further games and will always be part of the Halo universe. Those are my thoughts. If you agree, disagree, have further information regarding the above mentioned, feel free to post. I always love hearing hypotheses regarding Halo story lines and back stories. ***Sorry that it is so long, I have just been wanting to voice my hopes for so long, I figured I would give as much information and evidence as to my predictions as possible.*** *** I am aware there is a thread about halo plot lines already, however being a new member, I can't seem to find it. ***
  3. :[ *Warning* This Post Will Be Very Long ]: First off i would like to ask for no trolling, no hating and no going out of your way to make someone look stupid. This thread is for halo 5 Ideas no matter how good or bad they are. Fill free to post any ideas you have. [Weapons & Equipment]: I would love to see them add all the halo weapons to halo 5. If not be able to choose what skin it has so you can say make a Storm rifle look like a Plasma Rifle. Also choose able plasma colors like with the Brute Plasma Rifles and the Elite Plasma Rifles. As well as new ones. If all the weapons would be added back some would need to be changed to make them more usable. *Focus Rifle* I think this should come back as a anti-vehicle weapon. Where it would do very high damage to vehicles but low damage to infantry. Another way I could see this is take away its x10 zoom and have it as a medium to long range rifle instead of being a long to very long sniper (I never once saw this used as a sniper in matchmaking.). *Brute Shot* I think this should have a one shot melee kill, 4 round clip (like halo 2) and do high damage to infantry and low damage to vehicles. *Concussion Rifle* High damage to light vehicles and be able to flip them, low damage to infantry with Knock back and medium damage to heavy vehicles. *Duel Wield* This need to come back I heard they were going to add it in halo 4 but they couldn't get it to work. Never the less it needs to make a come back even if its something you add for a custom load outs. *Bolt shot* Okay I have not used this since it got nerfed so I don't know how it works now. I think it needs to work in this way. Charged shot only knocks down shields or kill you if you have no shields with a overheat 2 sec cooldown. Single fire would do the less damage but higher rate of fire then magnum. *SMG* Duel-wield able and higher rate of fire then the AR and a 60 round clip with spread. (like halo 3) *ODST SMG* same as the SMG but nonduel-wield able and with zoom. *Mauler* Duel-wield able and two shots would do the same damage as one UNSC shotgun shot. *Plasma Rifle* Same as SMG but with all plasma weapons it would knock down the shields faster then the SMG but health slower. *Bring back the halo 3 equipment in ether loadouts or get them on the battlefield. You would have equipment and armor abilites. *NO MORE CUSTOM LOADOUTS* I would like to see halo reach loadout setup back. I don't like custom loadout but I wouldn't mind to much if they stayed. I just fell halo is more about finding your weapon on the field then spawning with it. Leave in being able to see power weapons on your hud. Its not fair to players who have never played on a map that other player have played on and know where all the power weapons are. *LEAVE IN ORDNANCE* I LOVE THIS ABOUT HALO 4. This is why, I am bad with a sniper. Not because I'm bad at the game but because I don't get to use it that much. Ever since Halo 4 ive gotten batter at sniping in all the Halos. ordnance gives players a chance to use a weapon and get used to it with out taking the weapon away from the players that are good with it. Before think you think just play team snipers. Think about this if you rarely use a weapon it wouldn't be fair to you if you are playing against players who always use that weapon. Some weapons you would see in campaign, firefight and custom games but wouldn't see them in Match making. [Forge & Theater modes]: *Bring back Forge world and sandbox. *Add in a new map thats FLAT with nothing on it and by this I mean something like the flat world in minecraft (NOT LIKE FORGE ISLAND). Here you would beable to place anything in the game any building, rock, mountain, ect... *Holo Mode* Okay this is what holo mode is. When you place a item (Say a Bunker box) in the ground and have it so the door is facing away you can toggle holo mode. Which would allow you to go into the item even though its in the ground. *Despawn timers* So you can make a item despawn in game. Would be fun having to run to a skull before the floor drops under you. *Toggle movement* This would let a item move in a set path or directions that you set in forge. *Firefight forge* *NPC Spawn* Not just for firefight forge but you could add them for any gametpye. *MORE items in forge* *Bring back things that where taken out in reach and halo 3 for forge* *Add things like computers and trash cans* *Changeable skins* so you can change items to look like items for Brutes, UNSC, Forerunner, Covenant, Flood and Maybe a new race >.> <,< >.> *Weather control* so you can change Day/night, rainy, snow, foggy, sandstorm and lightning. *Changable landscape* so you can change from sand, snow, grass, swamp, AND SPACE ! *LEAVE IN GREENSCREENS* *Traits on weapons* This would let you set traits to weapons in forge mode so you can have one say AR that does more damage to another AR. [Being able to make your own campaign]: *Addable Voice to Theater Mode* *Addable effects to Theater Mode* *Forge able triggers* A triggers is something you can put in in forge and it will trigger a cutscene you make in Theater Mode. *Multi Maps* After you do one thing in a map like act activate a trigger it will load the next map. [Custom games & gametpyes]: FIRST OFF FOR THIS I WOULD LIKE TO SAY.... I do not want multiplayer to have a story to it a reason why spartans are fighting spartan. I just dont want it to be on the same story as the campaign. I was told thats why they took elites out of multiplayer. *Other playerable Race* I wanna be able to choose my race no matter the same tpye from Flood, Brute, Elite, Spartan, Prometheans and the forerunner like the Didact. *Playable grunts vs marines For Invasion* Bring back games tpye that were taken out like invasion and race. *No more Custom loadout in MM* *Firefight* *Flood Firefight* Return of Coagulation. [*More gametpye options*]: here are some Increase/Decrease Weapon damage for each weapon and not just the play. Increase/Decrease how much ammo you can have in your weapon and how much ammo for that weapon you can hold. Toggle health. In halo Reach and Halo CE you could toggle shields but not health. Toggle drop flag Toggle have pistol with flag or i would also like to beable to change the pistol to any one-handed weapon EVEN A SWORD. Toggle throw Skull/bomb Changable Cool down/over heat on vehicles weapons [Vehicles]: I would like to see all the vehicles back and each race have there own verson of that vehicle as well as new ones also a flood skin for each one and changable camo skins for them. For Example: Spectre/Prowler/Warthog Also idea for a new Vehicle it was something i saw in halo custom edition a motorcycle with 2 chain guns mounted on it it would be the UNSCs Ghost. [Campaign & Story]: Lot of People want cortana back I being one of them. They could bring her back as a ghost that only chief can see I say this because she was made with human DNA. Now if they didn't bring her back i wouldn't be all OMFGWTF BBFQ WHY I HATE YOU no i wouldn't do that. >.> <,< >.> MORE STORY IN THE GAME for one thing I didn't know why I was attacking my once found ally and the only way to find this info is in a easteregg... This was a bad move. Also there was almost no story in the gameplay all of it was in the cutscenes that needs to change in halo 5. After halo 6 I would still like game with chief in it at some point. Also I would like other halo games with other Heros like I wanna know if noble 6 died or if something happened in a split second. More halo ODST games and halo games based off of the books would be fun. More spartan ops in halo 5 and more story to it yeah I know season 2 isnt out yet. Also i want it to fell more like the campaign but where its MY Spartans story. Lastly we don't know what the xbox 720 is gonna be like so halo can change alot because of it some of the thing 343 wanted to do they couldn't because of the 360 I will be adding more to this and I would like if YOU add your ideas as well. Oh How could I forget The arbiter and a playable elite campaign.
  4. Im looking for players to help me complete the campaign on legendary all skulls on. Message 'Iced Out Zombie' on xbox for more information.
  5. I completed the campaign on legendary and today the title update somehow wiped my progress this has happened twice now please help
  6. ok so here is my idea for a campaign. overall it's much longer than halo 4 and goes back to the routes of halo (and by that I mean it's set on a halo instalation), the campaign would start about 3-6 months after halo 4 spartan ops ended Prologue: The prologue would start showing Jul Mdama and his fleet arriving at instalation 03, Jul would turn to Halsey and say "you said it would only take a month to find," Halsay would then say "I know, I was wrong, but we found it, that's all that matters," now I know in spartan ops they find the location to all the instalations, but considering the galaxy spans 100,000 light years, the location they found wouldn't show the exact location of the ring. Anyways, then it will show a scene from 2 weeks before that, it would show chief talking with Lord Hood, who would send him off to guard 1 of 3 bases (the base guarding the map room) on instalation 03. Then it would go back to present time, showing the chief with a few marines (including a sergeant similar to Johnson,) one of the marines will then yell "look" while pointing at one of Jul Mdama's ships. The chief would then say "get to work" while loading an assault rifle. Mission 1: this mission would start with a quick first person cutscene that would show the chief looking ath the enemy ship, he would then see a bunch of phantoms unload from the carrier. the chief would then be contacted by lord hood to defend the map room at all costs. The chief would begin aiding the new sergeant guy and his squad defend one of the entrances against a few waves of covenant, then he would be contacted by another sergeant who had just let some covenant slip past his defences and enter the map room, the chief would then go in to the map room to stop them, the next part of this level would be sort of like the part of the silent cartographer where your in the map room by yourself, except a bit longer, I think this could have a very big map room. Upon the chief killing all the covenant and getting to the control panel of the map room, the new sergeant guy would tell chief that a huge wave of covenant is approaching. The chief would then have to fight covenant until his shields go down. Then a cutscene would begin, showing chief getting shot by a few elites, the chief would then take his knife and stab an elite in the back, he'd then lift up the elites body and use it to block another elites plasme fire, he'd then get shot in the back by a few plasma rounds and then fall to his knees, but then the new sergeant and his marines (about 10 of them) would come in and save the chief (yes, this new sergeant saves the chief, unlike how the chief had to save Johnson 50 times.) The level would then continue to have chief and the marines continue to guard the map room against more waves, every time the player gets down to about 3 marines 3 more will come inbetween waves of covenant, finally after about 10 waves (each with about 20-30 covenant,) Lord Hood will tell chief the area is secure, he'll then say that the ship that was attacking touched down about 10 clicks away, the level would then end with the chief exiting the control room with the new sergeant guy and 4 marines, they'd then board a pelican, it would show the pelican (with a scorpion) take off, the view would then show the enemy ship (an assault carrier) before fading to black. (About 1 hour long) mission 2: This mission would start with the pelican dropping off the scorpion, the chief, the new sergeant and the 4 marines, there would be a marker (about 2 km away) over the gravity lift into the ship, the chief would then drive the scorpion through a large cave. Upon reaching the end of the cave he would get attacked by a ton of ghosts, a few wraiths and banshees and maybe a few revnants or spectres or even a new vehicle. The chief would then proceed further and would start getting attacked by more vehicles, also some phantoms could drop off some ground forces also, I think it would be cool if after this part Lord Hood could offer chief some more assistance, then it would actually be up to the player if they want reinforcments or not, if they take the reinforcments then a pelican would come and drop off a warthog with a driver and a gunner. There would then be a curvy slope (similar to the one in assault on the control room right before you have to exit your scorpion,) when getting to the bottom there'd be few ghosts and a wraith that would start attacking. Also if the warthog ever blows up then the chief will be able to call in for a new one every 5 minutes. After killing the few ghosts and wraith the chief will have to go through a large cave full of ground forces, and maybe a ghost or 2. Upon exiting the cave the chief will get attacked by a few banshees a wraith and a pile of ghost, this area will be a large battle enviroment and a few phantoms will drop in some ground forces aswell. After the chief kills all the vehilces a scarab will fall from the sky, the chief can then choose to call in 2 aerial vehicles (either hornets or falcons.) After the scarabs legs collapse the will have to board the scarab (because the back will not be able to be broken off, so he can't just shoot it with the scorpion.) By this point the chief wouldn't be far from the grav lift, he'll have to go through a narrow opening in the cave, by this point the hornets or falcons (if still alive) would've left, while in this narrow opening a few ghosts and ground forces would attack. When you exit the opening you'd enter a giant battle field, the battlefield would have 4 bases each with 4 turrets on the roof and 4 at the entrances on the bottom floor (1 about 500 metres form each point of the grav lift.) The Chief could then call in for more reinforcments (2 warthogs, 2 scorpions and 2 hornets or falcons and 2 mongooses aswell as about 20 marines.) the enemies would have about 5-10 ghosts, 2-4 wraiths, about 100-150 ground forces, 8 sniper nests, and 5-10 revnants or spectres, aswell as 5-10 banshees and maybe a scarab or 2. Anyway about half way through the batlle Lord Hood would tell chief that Jul Mdama and Halsay are on that ship, and that he has to get them at all costs. At the end of the battle when the chief would get near the Grav lift wave after wave of covenant will drop off from, after 5 waves it will stop. A cutscene would start showing chief slowly walking towards the grav lift, then the new sergeant would yell "go, go, go" then 10 marines will run past each side of the chief onto the garv lift, the last one will on the left side will bump the chief, turn aroung and yell out "sorry, sir." (slightly more than an hour long) I'll post more soon.
  7. As you all know, the Sangheili species are not (yet) playable on Halo 4. 343i and lots of people use the argument "The Multiplayer (War Games) is now canonical to the Campaign", but here are the stuff the are wierd about this: ->The MM is actually a simulator aboard the Infinity ->The simulation is to train Spartan IV's ->The Flood is destroyed (at least not present on Campaign nor SpOps) So. You see what I mean? The humanity has not encountered the Flood at all after the events of Halo 3, and yet we have a Flood-specific gametype. I know that it's for the fun, but think: ->S IV's are probably not going to face Flood ->The Flood is not present at all ->The War Games are supposed to simulate an actual battle ->You get to control the Flood ->S IV's probably don't even know what the Flood are You see where this is going? 343i didn't include playable Sangheili for canonical reasons. If it is supposed to tie up to both SpOps and Campaign, why are the Flood in the WG simulator but Sangheili aren't? S IV's are going to face the Storm faction, a Covenant remain thing. So why not to put Invasion too? You Spartan fans are going to say: "Oh, simple, why would a Spartan, the mighty powerful Spartan with cool armor, would want to see the war as a dinosaur?" And here's my answer: "Why would a Spartan want to see the war as a Flood?" It makes no sense. UNSC would be then training a demonic, inter-galactic parasite to defeat their ranks? Because if an infection happens, the infected spartans would know how to take out other Spartans, so yeah. No sense. It would make way more sense to include Sangheili. Why? ->There actually are Separatist Sangheili that are allied with the humans ->There is no alliance between Humans and the Parasite ->Seeing the war from your enemy's point of view is a good strategy You may say "But there are no Sangheili aboard the Infinity". The humans have the tech to create a frigging huge ship! I think they are more than capable of creating an "A.I" that the players would control. 343i needs to think of a better excuse of such a stupid move. What would you think?
  8. During all the Halo's including Halo CE and Halo 2. I kinda got bored cause there weren't enough missions like I got bored of it easily. Of course in Halo 4 there was Spartan Ops aswell. Tell me what you think in the poll. Of course there was Spartan Ops and Firefight for cooperative gameplay and a seperate story then Master Chiefs. And FireFight for plain old fun.
  9. Well.... Yeah. Opinions? Personally, I would've LOVED to have this playable in Halo 4, in both Customs (INVASION) and in campaign.
  10. Taken from my previous thread introducing Elite and ODST Ops; http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/26508-elites-odsts-warfronts-and-other-ideas/ This version has more details than the other, and is more developed. The flaws are recognized and I hope to get more fixed if there are any. I noticed that when you are in the cutscenes with your character you are given a fixed personality. The point of being your own character is having your own story. So I worked around that to still allow for the player(s) to be integrated into the cutscenes of their Ops missions. While customizing your character you can choose which voice you want. At the launch of Halo 5 there would likely be 5 voices per race per gender. That's 30 voice actors in all. Others may be unlocked or DLC. How this breaks down for Ops missions is that the voice you use also determines the personality of that character. In the previous thread you would be placed in the cutscene based on which player you are. Player 1 would be talking to player 2, and both would be discussing things with the shipmaster, while player 3 would be standing aside, possibly looking at the view. Luckily with this thread added to it, the dialogue would be enhanced with your character's voice. Each race would be given 5 voices: - 2 cool personalities - 1 leader personality - 1 bad@ss personality - 1 other This shapes the dialogue to what your character says during each moment. Let's say player 3 approaches player 4 about said discussion. Player 3 has one of the cool character voices for his ODST. It kind of resembles a comic relief character. Although, player 4 chose to use the bad@ss personality. Player 3 mentions stuff about having a dog. Player 4 just doesn't care. However, if player 4 used a cool personality too (maybe the same one lol, who cares), then the conversation would continue. This adds a lot of variables to a mission's coding, but it's worth it. You could be playing the mission with your friends and the same moment would feel ENTIRELY different had you done it yourself. And there are more variables if you choose to fight with 1 player or with 2/3/4 players. Player 3 and 4's conversation wouldn't even exist if you play solo. And I have a feeling that the new xbox is going to allow for 6 players to be playing online together in Ops missions. I doubt that, but I think it's going to be an upgrade. So that means 4 different cutscene possibilities, with 30 different conversation scripts per character per role per cutscene, with up to 4 roles per cutscene. How many possibilities is that? If the new xbox does support 6 player campaigns then that's 2 more cutscene possibilities entirely added to the list. Not to mention, you need the interaction variables, that say; player 4 doesn't say anything about dogs, player 3 wouldn't be saying "I know right!" after that. Who says "I know right?!" after not even getting a response? Sergeant, you're drunk. Go home. I can't even begin the math of the whole thing, but with the interactions that's like 4 times more than what is said above. It looks like 343 will have to get their actors to voice each starting line, with their conversation going into 30 different ways. If someone else interacts later in the cutscene (or a new event happens) then that goes into 30 more directions. But the acting's the easy part. It's just a lot of work. But keep in mind that 30 stands for all Spartans, ODSTs and Elites. There would be 30 different variables during the last mission or episode. On a regular basis you'd have 5 different voices for each race per gender. That's 10 different possibilities for each interaction within each cutscene. So that means this: 343 will have to get their actors to voice each starting line, with their conversation going into 10 different ways. If someone else interacts later in the cutscene (or a new event happens) then that goes into 10 more directions. This will be done for each campaign for Spartan Ops, Elite Ops and ODST Ops. There, that doesn't seem so bad. ________________________________________ Now for the other stuff. Ops missions intertwine during the last mission or episode. This would create an ultimate experience for the players who like to use their different characters in all three of the stories. But what about the stories? When do they take place? Personally, I wasn't fond that Spartan Ops took place 6 months after Halo 4's campaign. It was good, but that should NOT be the case for Halo 5. If the flood arise, where's the biggest threat coming from? If the flood return, human-covenant warfare halts in all events involving the flood. Why would Infinity and a bunch of ODSTs be focusing on putting the Covenant to justice when their existence is being threatened again? Six months after the campaign isn't great for that. Humans and Covenant wouldn't be fighting each other at that time. The flood would be at an amazingly high advantage by that time. The whole campaign would have to be flood, which isn't a Halo game. That's a flood game. So for the sake of what I just mentioned, Ops campaigns should be happening from multiple perspectives along with the campaign. In the previous thread I mentioned that it would be a good idea to have the first campaign level be focused on the Arbiter being threatened, resulting in the events of the game starting. Then it moves on to Chief. Elite Ops would start directly after that first level, with your group being introduced and the players would be introduced to the shipmaster and all that stuff. Away you go on your missions. ODSTs would start from an alternate beginning that doesn't involve the canonical events at all. They could be doing something else entirely, until you start operating alongside the background of Chief's missions. This improves the first release of the flood again. Each campaign (all 4) would have the player experience each first strike - which is usually the worst time, which is good for the game. Let's say the Elite Ops first mission starts somewhat close to the Arbiter's campaign story, and branches off for a few missions. This way you can alternate from canonical events to just arresting (or hunting) brute terrorists or protecting territories or homelands. Then the flood come about and your shipmaster is ordered by Thel 'Vadam to aid in urgent matters. You join in the main events once again. The ODST storyline could go into two different directions, one could be like the Elites' storyline by being elsewhere when the flood is released, or your ODST squad could already by stationed on the same mission when the flood are released. Assuming that Jul M'Dama will be involved with the release of the flood, your squad could be taking part in Jul M'Dama missions by that time. Infinity's Spartan fireteams will have front row seats to the release of the flood, no question about that. That is, if Jul M'Dama is involved. As far as the ODST squad storyline goes, it could be offensive or defensive - but most of all, tactical. Storm Covenant in Halo 4 seemed to be defensive as a whole, but offensive through opportunity. They don't seem to be threatening humanity since following Halo 3, but things could go wrong every now and then. Your ODST squad would be sent on practical missions that aren't usually offensive, but have a real purpose. I don't have any ideas for this, but I can assure you that players would like to have this kind of experience once again. Offensive missions could be trying to recover some forerunner technology that is guarded by Covenant. Defensive missions could be you guarding the forerunner artifact. Perhaps the ODST storyline would have the oracle of said installation involved. I'm sure there would be missions around him/her. ____________ There is but one problem that still bugs me, and that is how other NPCs will call you names. In Halo 4 you are constantly being called Crimson, which works. However, your player will be involved in cutscenes (according to this thread). You will have to be called individually accordingly to the voice acting of the characters. I have three solutions to this problem (that might make Halo feel a bit different, but cool anyway): - You can use codenames that are customizable for your character. (Different for each race) - Your ranks will be used to describe your name. - Actual names (or last names) that are also customizable for your character. (Different for each race) With a codename you will be called a certain name when someone's line mentions the player's name. This will again add many variables to the dialogues of the cutscenes. It helps for calling players in the middle of the missions, though. Calling you by your rank would likely be more plausible and realistic. If a marine calls you over saying "Hey, Sergeant!" Then you can understand that they know you are a sergeant but not your name, and it would also be more proper to call you by your rank. Unfortunately, this is how cutscenes will work too. Although, your ODST and Elite team/squad could have a name by itself like Crimson does, but I doubt that would seem at all realistic. Your Spartan might need to be called upon as well, for realistic purposes. __________________ And that should be all. For now. Comments and debate plz!
  11. The Flood. You either Love or Loath it. Many people loath it due to the library missions in Halo CE/Halo 2 as well as Cortana from Halo 3. I admit Cortana was tedious at times and the Libraries could become frustrating, but thats no reason for pulling one of the most dangerous threats (in theory) from a game where all the awesome ancient tech is based around combating it. The flood in the original trilogy was good, but after reading the books and terminals about it, the fungus zombies didnt seem to portray the unstoppableness-ness that overwhelmed the Forerunners and caused them to commit cosmic suicide. In game i think the flood needs to become scaryer. Slithering in the dark, ambushing you, literally tearing through allies. The spartan flood in the Infection gametype of halo 4 has a giant claw, so lets see it put to use. Another thing is the weakness of flood. In halo 3 you could almost dissolve combat forms with a nasty look. Halo CE had it right. 2 clips of 60 round MA5B ammo and the ******** can still hop up off the floor. Now in many topics Ive seen Deadspace fans gloating how their necromorphs are scaryer. And to be honest I have to admit the flood isnt as scary in game. But in concept the flood should be able to make Chief nervous. Im trying not to express my sadistic side, but i think non scripted marine deaths by infection forms in Halo 3 were amazing. Graphics and gore upated with modern software and you have a greusome yet amazing incentive to protect your AI buddies. If 343i made you respect your marines (rather than using them as meat shields and ammo mules, get them to give you ammo or help you in some way without the scripted cutscene like events so you DO want to keep them alive, even for just sentimental reasons) then when they are tron in half and eaten in front of you, you might exact revenge rather than laugh. I know I beat the crap out of Spark when he killed Johnson. -Imagine this. You are running along through Halo 5 with a couple of AI buddies [that arent in any way significant to the mission], theyve been talking to you, weakening and killing enemies, supplying you with ammo and generally being helpful [yes i am still taling about Halo marines here] when suddenly jimmy-bob AI is grabbed by a Combat form and torn in two, while the other AI is making horrible gurgling noises as an infection form burrows into his rib cage. This would make me go on a rampage. Why not make us care about our AI buddies, then have the flood come rip our bromance apart? Gameplay wise we need variaton with flood. Halo 3 should be seen as a concept point for 343i. Pureforms were a good idea but never seemed to be as big a threat as they were made out to be. Why not have a stronger flood force where most infection forms were tank strenght. Not requiring a rocket launcher to take down [thats just crazy] but making them bullet sponges. Force a player to fall back as a staggering wall of flood marches at you. Infection forms can stay as popcorn, its part of the games now and actually suits them, but noone seems to panic when they are around. If you have AI allies around these little guys should become your worst nightmare. Buddies now oozing with green slime and floodflesh turn and rip into you. Wall to wall popcorn is never a bad idea. new types? Take a leaf from Halo wars and have infected grunts/jackals in game. I know in the lore they are infected to become food and flesh for the hives of the flood, but we should get to see this. Flood growths could also be interesting. Halo 3 gave us the Mature spores that released infection forms but why not the stalks and tenticals of halo wars? the ranged pureforms could become stationary and allow for proper assault flood controlled areas objectives in campaign. Summing it up, scary and overwhelming is what it needs to be. With promethians and covenant requiring tactics and flanking to overcome, this updated flood should be the break from noobcombotakeoutthewatchersthenknights tactics and it should open up your inner Rambo. Tactical decisions would still be needed, but more along the lines of 'do i have enough ammo' or 'which flood should I avoid and which do i shoot at from range.' Another benifit of Flood returning would be the return of sentinel weapons. The sentinels in Halo 2 were awesome, and if you havent already you should look up the concepts for other in game sentinels. I can imagine massive fights between variations of flood and sentinel and promethian that you must navigate. It also means flame weapons can make a return. The bodies dissolving from forerunner weapons in game actually serves a purpose (apart from us thinking 'Ooh.... pretty...) by destroying bodies so flood wont infect them [this could aslo allow for a flood firefight- check out some of the other topics ideas on this, people come up with good stuff]. Story-wise i think the flood should remain as an extragalactic parasite. A biological weapon from the precursors? Thats kinda lame to be honest. I would prefer that when the precursors buggared off to the other galaxies to explore and do precursory things that they came across an entire galaxy that was consumed by flood. Not knowing what the flood was they were overwhelmed and consumed. Now the flood has the ability to travel the distance between galaxies ['cept the precursors sabotaged their engines to save life here in the milky way]. The flood manages to send one small cluster of spores and hive on a ship back to the milky way where the humans found it.... And the cannon story follows from there. This -and i know its a stretch- could be the return of the flood in Halo 5. A precursor vessel filled with highly evolved flood slips into the milky way after jul m'dama activates a forerunner device that could contact the precursors. The Ship offloads and starts a massive infection of covenant space. **** gets real and the Array become an option for the UNSC to wipe out the huge flood incursion. Promethians can get involved somehow. Everybody wins, original trilogy and new age fannon fans. Id Like to see your ideas on my ramblings and any additions/subtrations you would make to the halofanboy opinions i vomited in the essay above.
  12. I have a new idea 343 Industries in Halo 5 it would be sweet if we the community can have more options in the multiplayer of halo 5 such as weapons armor vehicles species of the player customizable emblems like in COD black ops 2 as well as building game types from more options and have the forge more advanced and much more down below. weapons ideas: I love that you guys allowed us to choose different skins for our weapons but to be honest it was fun but it would be a lot more exciting if we can fully customize our weapons and use them in multilayer and set them into classes but to keep the halo feel of multiplayer and not the COD feel we you guys build a new system i have an idea and that is allowing us to go into a weapons builder menu and build our weapons from scratch or allow us to have the ability to combined two or more weapons together for example the sticky detonator combined with the assault rifle or the for covenant we can place an energy sword under a storm rifle to act like a bayonet and it would be so much fun if we can choose custom colors for our weapons and allow us to place our emblems on our weapons. Vehicle ideas: I have an idea for vehicles called vehicle smithing take a wort hog for example and you decide to get rid of the turret and convert into a troop transport and allow us to customize it even further like coloring it and choose from different armor plating not just for wart hogs for every vehicle. where would all this fit on in halo 5 ? a new custom firefight that is more objective based and the weapons and vehicles you customized you can call it in as ordnance not only that in fire fight we want to be able to build buildings and fortify our positions and hold them off for as long as we can. Forge ideas: forge is great but it can be better i have many ideas to share one is the option to change the weather and time of day also to allow us to spawn AI like in far cry 3 i really liked that and the AI to have options like if they are friend or foe you can choose and to color them also we really want a new forge world perhaps a bigger one than in halo reach a forge world that is an open world like we can go under water go in space also we want more vehicle options we want to be able to spawn in huge things like frigates and cruisers so we can have huge space battles and let us completely and fully operate them and we really want to be able to have the vehicles from halo wars in halo 5 and we really really would like to have the scarab to drive also we want to have more environmental options like spawning fore trees and stuff like that and please add in more air vehicles. Armor ideas: we would love to have fully customizable armor and be able to do a lot more with it and we want our choice of armor to affect gameplay like if you choose heavy armor you have more health but less speed and jump and we want new armor abilities i have an idea for one and that is a scuba gear type of ability to go under water also i really loved the armor effects from halo reach please bing them back also we want more way more armor options like different types and also it would be cool if we could build our own armor from scratch from multiple options in the game. Species ideas: when i say Species i mean like in halo reach we had the option to be spartans or elites we would love for that to come back and more options like to be a brute. gameplay ideas: we would love the idea to have the option to go into first person view in a vehicle and third person option in vehicle or on foot plus we would love more assassination types and specific ones for each species you choose to be also for kill streaks we should have more options for example you are on a seven kill streak you can call in a squad of marines to assist you and many other kill streak rewards. Specialization ideas: please add more and have more perks with them. campaign ideas: please bring back the brutes and the elites and it would be cool if we could go into the Elites and the Brutes home worlds and the graphics are great and they can be better like the cinematic movies in the halo 4 campaign. music ideas: Neal Davidge did a great job but the music it not that great for the all the action like I'm fighting the covenant and i feel i'm in an opera not a war fighting aliens breaking benjamin lights out for the halo reach trailer was awesome you guys should add more rock music for all the fighting moments and all the other music for cinematic moments and for when your not in combat.
  13. Map: Eleventh Hour Author: Did4ct This map is a very close remake of the most memorable fighting moment of the Halo 4 Campaign. It is a remake of the left platform on the Didact's ship. This is one of the two platforms at the end of Midnight that creates the Didact's shield around the himself and the Composer with an energy beam. Gametype: Slayer or Cortana Cortana is a variant of CTF that functions as a 1 Flag CTF where the Infinity picks up Cortana (the flag) and tries to deliver her to the terminal above (the return point), just as Master Chief did, with the "Prometheans" trying to stop them. I have tested the gametype by myself and all of the spawnig works but I found no way to ensure that the Attackers get only the Infinity loadouts and the Defenders get only the Promethean loadouts. In my opinion, this map would be pitch-perfect for an Infection gametype where Master Chief is the Flood and the Prometheans are hunted by him until there are none left, but sadly Flood is not customizable enough to work well with it. There were quite a few hours put into this so hope you enjoy it and let me know if there are issues with it.
  14. Okay, so there are some things i liked about halo 4, and some things that they made even worse than reach. Vehicles: They are too week. Vehicles are what make halo stand out among the other shooters. There fun and are necessary for when you want to mix it up for a while. The counter argument that people will abuse vehicle use is useless and unfounded, as well as counter productive to the halo series to not have or have weaker vehicles. What's with magically punching a vehicle and having parts from random pieces break off? It's unrealistic and doesn't make you feel any better about defeating a vehicle because its too easy. In reach, killing a wraith was a skill, here no one cares. Plus, you should be able to hijack a vehicle by breaking only the cockpit protector and killing the occupant. This will keep the balance of the one who got there first has an easier time staying alive, while the new occupant is easier to kill. You should be rewarded for doing something hard, not a watered down you get nothing for doing something boring It degrades the experience and will give cod and battle field more players- bad biusiness. However, the grenade thing was a good idea. I also think that instead of busting the tank if you have no grenades when you hop onto the back, you should be able to climb up onto the gun and cause damage to that. if you hop onto the side, it should take just a bit longer to get to the front How to fix it: patch the punching crap, I consider it a glitch and it was annoying enough in Reach Fire arms: Nice job! I love the amping up of the covenant weapons and making them farther, faster, more accurate, and more painfull. I don't need to comment on the foruners as everyone likes them. Forge: Bad job, discraseful and shameful job. The maps are smaller, and they should have kept the tin cups old traits because it slowed some objects when dropped from the sky, so you could bury them in the ground and have the only succesful drop pods that didn't kill you and without the other tacky, second-rate solutions. Marketing scam in dominion: I don't apretiate being lied to about dominion, I only bought halo 4 before hearing critics because there was a comercial with the buildings actually building form the ground and they mentioned strategy, which seems to be abandoned and watered down to just plain shoot'em up with a slight twist. Vehicle selection: Lazy half-*** job guys, bravo. Cut the crap and add all past vehicles into the forge and make the hornet control like the pelican and have faster ascent/decent and straif. There was also hype about being able to fly serefs, pelicans, and scarebs in forge and custom games. you guys disapointed us by being so failure-oreinted. Campaigne: Great job with few issues. cortana's death was un-emotional, thus defeating the purpose of killing her off, though if she survived again I would have been iritated also, because it would defeate the pourpose of her death being an issues. As a side note, I would like to note that the cut scene with the scientists was the sadest part because it was more emotional, and you could feel so bad for them. I was glad they were killed because now they don't have to suffer emotionally their whole life, making me feel like it was justified. diadact ship: epic diadact last fight, but dum ending. the fight was epic, but the nuke didn't make any sence. It didn't even detonate when triggered, and chief got teliported after it should have exploded. it was also unnecesary as the the ship was no longer a threat even though it was still firing. It would have only been firing on the same city it already composed, and the composer could have been taken by the unsc and been usede as a political weapon against the covanent. plus, the fact that the librarian is still alive could have been exploited in that she would inherit control of the ship (as long as she didn't murder him, of course). Earth assault: the covanent could have destroyed the earth, but were probably told to leave as the diadact had an ego the size of a planet, thus making sense, but i would like to note that earth is no longer the strongest planet, siince it has already been over runned, and humanity also has other planets, which would be easily upgraded as earth's demand for resources was lessened do to the masecre Elites and covanent: makes sense. the profits obviously want the elites back in to end their alliance, and they only would have to honour them for saving the covenant and put them back into power to reastablish control. The more ***-kissing they do, the more control they have. For the brutes, there is no reason why they shouldn't have been replased shortly after their rise to power, since they failed and were and unstable society. All they were was a tool for the new covanent party anyway, and it was the elites that saved every single one of them, and even though they rebelled and were independant for a while, their future reloyalty was highly likely anyway. They only joined us to save life, but they rebelled because they were replaced. if they were only replaced, they would still have rebeled and not allied themselves with us. Forge nuances- problems and good things: obviously the magnet and quick dupe was a great idea and i'm sure user data is too, once it is understood enought to be used. however, the physics where you put things on normal and they become fixed after a while has prevented many good ideas in forge on reach. We could have easily made psudo destructable ship wars where the buildings stayed on normal physics and when the bariers and explosives would hold them up until destroyed. forge ideas for the future: bbesides needing all the vehicles, as well as fuel rod gun wraiths and fuel rod gun shade turrets and those blue flack turets in fogre, there needs to be a few more options. You need to be able to: glue pieces together so they act as one building (when paired with my persistant normal phisics idea) and beable to de attach after enough force is applied. we need to beable to set some destructible objects to triger events in buildings such as physics change and destruction, and noncolide so parts can fall through them map and get deleted, thus saving data. buildings need to be modable to where they can take damage which would be user specified and the type of weapons efect it diferetntly. there needs to be some sort of shield thing (in halo 5) that can be alloud to cover buidlings, and air locks need to be scripted so efects like from Reach's map anchor can hapen. imagine how epic the experience would be if the environment changed, even just a bit, when damage is dealt. Why the developers need to head my advise: because you need to keep your investment interesting so you get your money back and gain a profit? DUH! halo is already on the downhill slope, so you need to act now. dont save the changes for later, because it may already be to late one example is given by nintendo. The reason why they are failing is because they banned the cod franchise so long that people like me had time to save up for an xbox (finally) thus deleting the interest i had in the wii. I loved the wii more than xbox because i could easily become more coordinated with the game by using my eye hand coordination skills to make me better faster. I was headshotting people with the most inacturate guns accross the map within a few months with the wii, but the xbox anologue stick makes no sense whatsoever and thus needs years to get a fraction as good. plus, the new kids would like the ease of being able to skill up faster. An extra tip for developers: theres no reason you can't change your halo 4 game now and fuel the interest in the series. patches already are constantly addes so i do't know why things cant be addressed, now before your customers jump ship. I had an idea for the connect of how to achieve the wii effect without having to get new controllers, but i don't want to give my idea away. as soon as i can pattendt that idea, I'm going to sell it.
  15. Halo 4 was an amazing game, by far one of my favourite Halo's. But there are a few things i personally do not like, and i'm sure many others agree with me. (in no order) 1. ELITES - I was okay with elites not being in matchmaking, but i would have liked them do be in. It adds more customisability and to be able to go on and play as an alien race makes it just that much better. 2. SOUNDS - The sounds in halo 4 where brilliant. The guns where pounding every time you took a shot... but they weren't halo. They didn't sound like halo, the covenant guns didn't sound alien, the assault rifle didn't sound like an assault rifle, and the pistol was very weak sounding. They need to do what they did with Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary. The weapons all sounded like halos, but had a punch to them. Each sound blew you away and yet were still recognisable as halos. And in every other Halo the shield recharge sounded great, it had a kick to it. In halo 4 its kind of weak, not very loud and had a whistle to it rather than this futuristic shield. They need to bring that pump back to in Halo 5. 3. SHIELDS - The shields in halo 4 depleted way too fast and recharged way too slow. I realise this was too speed up the gameplay and all but it doesn't feel like the halo shield i love from Halo 2 and Halo 3. And the over-shield in halo 4 is terrible, it depletes way to fast so by the time you found someone to kill you ran out of the over-shield. They must make it that powerful original shield again. 4. WATER - In halo 4 water kills you the second you touch it. In the other halos the water goes up to your neck before dying. I know its a bit picky but it just annoys me when in halo reach i forged flooded areas. 5. CAMPAIGN - I waited for years to play halo 4, it was worth it but i would have liked to campaign to have been longer and more dedicated. 6. MUSIC - I was disappointed not to hear the classic halo theme and a choir. It would just have made the mysterious settings much better. I loved their version of 'Never Forget' in Halo 4, it kept me watching the credits through to the ending. In halo 5 they need to bring back some more classic music. 7. QUICK TIME EVENTS - No... just no. They should have let us kill the Didact ourselves, like we did with every other boss. Sometimes it was okay but just left me wishing that i was actually controlling it. 8. GAMEPLAY - Its just small but id like the controls to be customisable. Such as being able to have sprint being selected as a default rather always being on. And have the other Halo controls as a setup. And some multiplayer playlists should be changed, like Flood. I loved infection in halo reach, but the flood having armour abilities ruins it. Its way to difficult to survive and makes you angry when there are seconds to go and you cheaply get killed by a flood using thruster pack. 9. THE FEEL - Last thing i think they could change is the feel. Things missing here and there that could be changed. Like i said before, the choir and layouts could be a little more recognisable. When i go into the menu the music is good but repetitive, i enter it hearing the same songs over and over and over again and its a strain on my ears. The Halo 3 music was soft and beautiful. And just small things like the colour and of buttons and the menu needs to be more classic. And thats pretty much it, i love everything else. The load-outs especially suit Halo very much. And i like how the armour abilities have been toned down from Halo reach. Just minor things but i think 343 industries could sort it out and make the next halo the best halo game ever made.
  16. Waypoint released some hints about 3 undiscovered easter eggs in campaign. Some of you may already started e-hunting, but for others it's a good time to begin Here are the hints, I will update this when I find a video. MISSION: REQUIEM (By Paul Ehreth) What is it? "An appreciation of architecture, and a return to nature." Where is it? "It may be beatiful, but returning here is deadly." MISSION: FORERUNNER (By Cory Hasselbach) What is it? "A deadly ambush waits for you If you have the will to power through Kill them all, your reward is great Weapons to turn the side of fate" Where is it? "After the enemies rain from the sky Before the doorway which you fly You must return to the rock on which the ledge is by Patience is a virtue, but your death is nigh" MISSION: MIDNIGHT (By Chris French) What is it? "A congenial sight." Where is it? "Lost in the belly of the beast." Good hunting Spartans!
  17. I want to beat halo 4 on legendary & cant be bothered on my own! Anyone who wants to play from start to finish add me o0 sniper360 0o
  18. One of the things i am hoping for in halo 5 is prometian vehicles. I would like to know if there were promethian vehicles, what would they... 1) ...Be named 2) ...Look like 3) ...Have as weapons (i.e. ghost has dual guns, warthog has turret, and mongoose has none) 4) ...Travel by (wheels, hover, fly, treads) 5) ...Have as a UNSC equivelent (i.e. Wraith=Scorpian) 6) ...do when hijacked (i.e. explode like Wraith or taken over like ghost)
  19. I was thinking about many things that I would like in Halo 5. Some include different Forge genres like UNSC pieces, Covenant pieces, and Forerunner pieces. I had an idea for the campaign as well. Technically, the Flood was wiped out on the Installations Humans visited, so maybe they stumble across more Flood on an Installation they haven't been to yet. For multiplayer, we should have multiple species to play as. For example, there could be a game mode of ODST's versus Brutes, or Spartans versus Promethean Knights. Finally, there should be AIs we can fight against in Custom Games to mix things up a little and boost the awesome Halo experience to the next level. If anyone from 343i reads this, please take these ideas into consideration. They have a high chance of not making it into the final copy of Halo 5, but at least I would know that workers at 343i took time out of their day to read this. Good luck on the production of Halo 5! -xXFor3runn3rXx1
  20. Halo is filled with moments like these, and I'd like to know what is your favorite jaw-dropping moment in the history of Halo. Post what and why (if there is an explanation lol) it has amazed you so much, or even if it is kinda nostalgic Mine would be on Halo 4, when you first step out of the Dawn's crash site and look at this amazing landscape. It was the most beautiful combination of sight and sound in any Halo game in my opinion, and I would like to see more awe-inspiring environments / moments in Halo 5 and 6.
  21. PRESENTS Outskirts ODST Campaign Mod by Kills Alone of the H2MT Crew Released - December 2012 Updated - August 30th, 2013 ABOUT ===== ODST Bipeds for Marines and Player Characters on Campaign scenario Outskirts (Old Mombasa). The ODST player character biped is only viewable in Third Person. Thus I have provided two versions of the Campaign and a list of recommended applications. The other Campaign variant is the same except for a few minor changes, specifically the player character remains the Master Chief. I used Gravemind 1.6B to make the changes, unfortunately the application has many faults such as some fields will not appear after viewing other fields first. Also many values are incorrect or in the wrong places. Thus I used the following two applications to verify the settings. -Entity (H2x) was used to study the original map in its unmodified XBox incarnation. Entity Halo 2 XBox maps -The unlocked Guerilla New (H2v) was also used to study original scenario source in its PC incarnation. H2MT H2EK Unlocked - Enhanced Edition 03a_oldmombasa.scenario Then Mr. Mohawk v1.2 was used to swap the player's biped to that of an ODST Marine. Mohawk was used for the swap instead of Gravemind because it provided more consistent results. ALTERATIONS =========== -All Marines are ODST -Some Marines have human heads (such as Johnson) -Most Marines have ODST helmets (which is actually a head permutation) -Changed the sky to a more cloudy/foggy sky -Adjusted player0 starting location -Player starts with Rockets (instead of a BR) which can be traded with other ODST Marines -Pilot and Co-Pilot are now visible when picking up Johnson -In one variant you play as an ODST (but this is limited to Third Person) -I will attempt to get this recorded when playing Co-op *See the included notes file for more specifics and values INSTALL ======= 1) Before copying the file to your Halo 2\maps default maps directory you must backup the original. 2) The filename is 03a_oldmombasa.map, so make sure you backup the original by either renaming it or by moving it to a backup sub-folder. I rename the original file to 03a_oldmombasa.map.ORIGINAL so I know what it is at a later date. 3) Copy the new file to the same location then start Halo 2 Vista. 4) Select Outskirts from the Campaign selection screen. 5) For the ODST player character variant I recommend using one of the Third Person applications listed below. I have included these and a few more apps/mods that you may require. TOOLS ===== Ambiguous Alpha v2.5 - for Third Person/Still Cam Ambiguous Beta v1.0 Pre-Release - for Real-Time Editing Gravemind v1.6B - for Meta Edit/Swap H2V Blu Trainer vK2 - for Third Person/Still Cam/Fly Cam HUD Removal - remove HUD and on-screen text Mr. Mohawk v1.2 - for Meta Edit/Swap DOWNLOAD ========= H2MT Outskirts ODST Campaign Mod ~240MBs compressed (~400MBs extracted) H2MT Outskirts ODST Campaign Mod SPPF Only Version ~11.5MBs compressed (~25.1MBs extracted) notes.txt updates.txt
  22. This is a list/guide to most hidden weapons and some miscellaneous stuff in the campaign. These are not the obvious ones and it won't include easter eggs. It may also include some trivia. "Dawn" When Requiem scans the Dawn for the first time, you can see a holo-pad showing the ship's course. It goes off its course heading to a mysterious planet (Requiem). When Requiem starts pulling all ships inside it, after you go to an airlock, there are some Grunts running but the floor collapses beneath them. If you do not fall down and go around jumping on the remaining floor, when the second floor falls afterwards, there is a dead Elite with an Energy Sword in front of you. (Still on the upper floor) ''Requiem'' At the very start, there are some goodies hidden in the crash site. Once you start, head to your right. There is a crashed part of the Dawn, where a dying Elite is located. Inside it, an audio log can be activated which is Dr.Halsey commenting on Cortana. If you ascend a small ramp, you will be on top of the debris. There is a crate with BR ammo and next a Sniper rifle. In another crashed part next to the first one, the is a SAW which can be useful in the mission. At the starting point, head to the crashed Covenant ship to your left. If you climb it, the is a device which you can activate and hear a dialog between Chief and Cortana. In the map room, there is an object that can be examined which describes the Mantle of Responsibility. Near Rally point Bravo, at the final area, if you go near the cliff where there is sea, you can find an AR, a Magnum, a SAW and a Rocket Launcher. "Forerunner" At the second pylon, you can hear the battle sounds of the Covenant and the Prometheans fighting, though human Assault Rifle noises are heard even though both sides use energy weapons. Most Covenant won't attack you when they're battling with Prometheans, unless you get really close. They will focus their fire on Prometheans first, and when they are all down they'll start attacking you. "Infinity" If one were to stare the Phantoms and Banshees in the beginning, they would see a group of seven stop in front of the hill. When you learn that the Covenant and Prometheans work together, a Jackal with a carbine is on the path to your right. Go there, and you'll see some additional Railgun ammo. While you're inside Infinity with the Scorpion, a Mongoose and 2 Warthogs are on heightened repair platforms. You may need a buddy to get the Hogs Next to the first Mantis' platform, on both sides, there are 4 Mongooses with Rocket Launchers for players on foot. At the final area, when you are ordered to clear the area and defend the anti-air guns, at the far right and left are 2 Mantises. They'll provide you extra firepower when needed. "Reclaimer" After Lasky tells you that you have to destroy particle cannons to get to the gravity well he will go below decks and type on a computer until he is deleted from the map about 20 seconds later. You can store any vehicle or weapon you want inside the Mammoth, a Wraith for example. It will stay there until you are ordered to leave the Mammoth and proceed on foot for the rest of the mission. When you're close to the citadel's entrance, if you jet-pack up to the bridge-like structure, there is a fully charged Beam Rifle. There is also another one, along with some ammo crates, on the upper right path, beneath the structure mentioned above. At the part you meet up with the Scorpions and other UNSC forces, there is a kind of similarity with the level The Ark (Halo 3). Even (Master) Stg. Stacker's lines are similar to his on the Ark. Ex. 1.(Halo 3):"All armor, form up. Hit 'em where it hurts!" (Halo 4):"Everyone form up on the Chief!"Ex. 2(Halo 3):"First line, clear! Push forward!" (Halo 4):"First line clear, check it off. Push forward!" "Shutdown" Through a glitch, one can skip the two towers and head directly to the third tower, drastically cutting the level short. (Recommended for Legendary runs) On the lower level of the Gondola, there are some useful Promethean weapons, including a Binary Rifle. In the final area, if one dies and his body falls down in the abyss, it will fall a little bit and then reach black ground. The fog also disappears. "Composer" At the very start there is a portal-like structure which kills you if you pass through it. On the second area where you need to raise the hangar shields, inside the 2-story building where some allies are, there is 1 DMR with a frag grenade on the first level, and 2 DMRs along with some frags on the second. After the Didact scans the station, clear out the remaining Covenant and cross a thin bridge-like structure. At the end of it, there should be a Beam Rifle with 100% capacity. The room with the Hunters has several specimens from Installation 03. There is also a small room within it with two of Dr Catherine Halsey's personal log entries. It is possible that she had used it as an office earlier. There are several data stations in the area near the Composer which can be accessed to find out more about it. In the Composer area, near the 2 Mantises is a room which contains plenty of Sticky Detonator ammo and some ARs. When you see that the Covenant have discovered the Composer, at your left there is a Spartan Laser on a railing. Through the entire level there are weapons scattered around and if you search off the beaten path, you'd find plenty. I would not be surprised if I have missed many. "Midnight" When Cortana teleports you to the armory (where there are many weapons along with the Grav Hammer), if you load last checkpoint, you won't hear Cortana's normal dialog. Instead she says something else (Maybe "John, our mother needs us") . Now, the weird part is that on the upper left corner where it displays who speaks, it says "Dr. Catherine Halsey" instead of "UNSC A.I. Cortana". Lastly, at the time Cortana tells the player to insert her to a terminal to stop the Didact from using the Composer, if one were to stall, she would gradually get more and more angry, with her last statement being "YOUR KIND WILL BE COMPOSED IF YOU DO NOT ACT." I think this is it, if you have something you want me to add, just say it here or PM me. As soon as I see your message I will add this here. Stay safe and, happy Holidays
  23. Im sure im not the only one but Heroic Campaign for Halo 4 was way to easy for it to be Heroic. But the legendary difficulty was so much more difficult. The Heroic was more like a normal mode to me. Was legendary suppose to be that much harder?? Plus i constantly ran out of ammo during legendary which didnt help.
  24. To 343 Industries: First of all, I'd like to congratulate you all on Halo 4. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I started playing it on Solo Legendary about 6:00 the Friday it came out, and had it beat by 2:00 the next day. It was very engaging. I have beaten all the Halo games on Solo Legendary, ODST and Reach on LASO, and I am currently working through the Halo books, so I consider myself well-versed in the Halo Universe. I think you did a great job of keeping true to the feel of Halo, and the new Master Chief looks awesome. I especially loved the intro with Dr. Halsey, it really got me pumped for the game. However, I have some concerns. 1) The legendary ending of Halo 4 shows a glimpse of Master Chief's face. It only flashed for a second, so I only had time to see the intensity in his eyes, but I was still shocked. The face of SPARTAN-117 cannot be shown. Please do not continue to do so. Perhaps some have requested it, but the die-hard fans of Halo do NOT want this. 2) I saw that there are tentative ideas about revealing more about Master Chief's past and the origin of the Spartans in Halo 5. I am not against this, but I fear that if you try to put that into a game focused on the Forerunner story, then it will be butchered. Those areas merit a game to themselves, if it is done right. For example, if the plan is to have Master Chief experience flashbacks throughout Halo 5, I disagree. While in Halo 4, you did a good job of not making our hero too sentimental, flashbacks would suggest that his resolve is failing. It would be a disappointment to fans. But that's just an example. 3) In Halo 4, I saw the Covenant lose their edge a little. They weren't as difficult to deal with as in other games. Please don't downgrade them to make the new enemies appear tougher. Rather, keep the Covenant the same, and upgrade the Prometheans. These points are all I'm really worried about. I believe that the next game in the series will be magnificent. Also, thank you so much for letting us pilot a Longsword! It is now my favorite vehicle.

    Campaign Bug?

After I completed the Campaign on legendary solo it brought me back to SR 1 when I was SR 58 when I started. Also I cant even go on to matchmaking, its telling me the halo 4 servers are not available. I didn't unlock the armor either. I am also not able to log into halowapoint.com. What happened ? How do I fix this?
