  1. Best Halo 4 Loadouts Introduction: What's up guys! I'm here to make a new post to help all of those out who are looking for the best possible loadouts for halo 4! Obviously there is not a 'Best loadout ever' because different loadouts are good at different things, and i am going to do my best to tell you what those are! The Loadouts: Name: 'Fronteer' - Primary Weapon: Carbine Secondary Weapon: Plasma Pistol Grenade: Plasma Grenade Armour Ability: Regen Field Tactical Package: Mobility Support upgrade: Ammo - Description: This class in incredibly useful in spartan ops. The carbine with the 'Ammo' Support upgrade provides massive amounts of ammunition and endless kills on infantry. Grunts, Jackals, Crawlers No problem... Elites, A Plasma pistol overcharge followed up by an accurate carbine round will finish any elite off easily. Plasma grenades provide an excellent backup. Especially when fighting Knights. Simply Plasma pistol overcharge on them, then stick them for an easy kill. The Regen field provides excellent space to hold up against large swarms of enemies. On dominion this class also works amazingly. Mobility provides the ability to move around the maps seamlessly. If you encounter a single player, then you could easily sort them out with your carbine and plasma pistol combo. And that Regen field is great for holding up a position against multiple foes. Name: 'Ranger' - Primary Weapon: Battle Rifle Secondary Weapon: Assault Rifle Grenade: Plasma Grenade Armour Ability: Jet Pack Tactical Package: Fire Power Support upgrade: Dexterity - Description: This class is amazing for any Free-for-all Gametypes. The battle rifle and assault rifle hold up for any battle situation. Plasmas are great for taking out foes quick or just keeping them out of the way. The jet pack provides an excellent way to navigate around the maps, into or out of battles. And especially on regicide, when you finish off an enemy you want to be ready to take on the next foe, dexterity provides good time to reload or change weapons quick. Name: 'Grenadier' - Primary Weapon: Assault rifle Secondary Weapon: Boltshot Grenade: Frag Grenade Armour Ability: Hologram Tactical Package: Grenadier Support upgrade: Explosives - Description: This class works great for oddball and other team games where teams will be close together, this class is designed to break up team members so that your team or you can finish them off. The best thing to do with this class is find a group of enemies and throw all of your grenades in the kill or break them all up. Out of grenades? Don't worry, This class is designed to help out your team an earn quick points, not keep you alive, (Your K/D May go down using this) Anyway, once you are out of grenades, use your hologram to lure out stray foes and take them down with your AR or Boltshot. Stay close to your team with this class, seeing as it is support more than anything else. Name: 'Harbinger' - Primary Weapon: Light Rifle Secondary Weapon: Boltshot Grenade: Pulse grenades Armour Ability: Promethean Vision Tactical Package: AA Efficiency Support upgrade: Awareness - Description: This class is great for if you want to go lone wolf and pick of enemies. The light rifle zoomed in will only take 4 Well placed shots to kill a foe, compared to the BR and DMR's 5. However zoomed out, the Lightrifle takes 6 shots to kill, but note it's high rate of fire. The boltshot is great for picking off close enemies. Crouch and sneak around the map, using your Promethean vision to seek them out. If you get any tail gaiters or what to take out a group of enemies, your pulse grenade should sort that out nicely. Also keep in mind your AA Efficiency will give you the ability to use your Promethean vision very frequently so you can be aware of your surroundings. Great for Team Infinity Slayer or CTF Name: 'Dispatcher' - Primary Weapon: DMR Secondary Weapon: Boltshot Grenade: Plasma Grenade Armour Ability: Active camouflage Tactical Package: AA Efficiency Support upgrade: Wetworks - Description: As the name suggests this class is most like an assassin. Designed for either waiting for foes to cross your path, or seeking out high value targets. The active camouflage provides an excellent shroud for enemies aware of your presence or foes careless enough not to check their radar. Because be aware that when you use Active camo, the radar becomes swarmed with multiple blue dots, telling enemies you are hiding nearby, so for most situations just try crouching. The wetwork package should also make it difficult for enemies to pick up your presence while you are not using camo, by making you almost invisible to Promethean vision and making you absolutely silent when moving around. Sadly, due to the wetworks package this class if difficult to obtain and hard to substitute. O recommend on the most skilled players to use this. The class is great for Regicide, Dominion, Big team battle, and Oddball. Send in your own loadouts! You've seen my loadouts, now tell me how i could make them better, or better yet send in your own and have them featured on this post! How to submit your loadouts: It couldn't be easier. Just send your message (Optional) And below, copy and paste the following text in your post and fill out the areas that say "[blank]" (Feel free to post as many as you like, And if it's good enough, i'll feature it on this post!) ________________________ Name: '[blank]' - Primary Weapon: [blank] Secondary Weapon: [blank] Grenade: [blank] Armour Ability: [blank] Tactical Package: [blank] Support upgrade: [blank] - Description: [blank] _________________________ Fan Loadout Submissions: Featured Loadouts: Name: The Wingman (By LiQuid BioniX) - Primary Weapon: Battle Rifle Secondary Weapon: Plasma Pistol Grenade: Frag Armour Ability: Regeneration Field Tactical Package: AA Efficiency Support upgrade: Dexterity - Description: The BR, in my experience, takes shields down pretty well and I get lots of assists when using it. The plasma pistol also is good because it's a decent combo with the precision weapons, plus if I overcharge and take their shields down, but I still die, then they've got a very likely chance of getting the kill. The Regen Field is for the same thing, if I see one or more of my allies struggling or losing health, I'll throw a Regen Field down. This is also why I use the AA Efficiency, it lets me further support my team. Dexterity is just because, well, I like getting the quick reloads. It's just personal preference. Basically, I'm a pretty solid team player. I've got about 4500 kills and about 1500 assists, so a pretty solid ratio. Lots of people are hesitant because they think their K/D ratio will drop, but I'm still managing about a 1.5, so that's not true if you play smart. Submitted loadouts: Name: Guerrilla (By NAMUH38) - Primary Weapon: DMR Secondary Weapon: Assault Rifle Grenade: Frag Armour Ability: Thruster pack Tactical Package: Firepower Support Upgrade: Dexterity - Description: allows for a near seamless transition between various ranges. I've found thruster to be the ability that has the most versatility. whether it be short or long range, attacking or defending, chasing or retreating, combat or just map control. Name: Doppelgänger: (By NAMUH38) - Primary Weapon: DMR Secondary Weapon: Boltshot Grenade: Plasma Armour Ability: Hologram Tactical Package: AA efficiency Support Package: Sensor - Description: here you would rely on the hologram for both offense and defense. you see where enemies are on the radar before they see you, and you can get a general idea of their direction of travel. use the hologram as a decoy and flank around, those seconds it fools the enemy are precious in halo 4. - duck around a corner and a lot of enemies will follow you. that second or 2 of time they can't see you, send a hologram out. either back toward the enemy, more often than not making them spin around to attack it and expose their back to you. or send it away from the enemy at a wider angle than you would be traveling along so they see the hologram first Name: Pro Loadout (By sponge) - Primary Weapon: DMR Secondary Weapon: BoltShot Grenade: Frag Armour Ability: Jet Pack Tactical Package: Mobility Support upgrade: Dexterity - Description: The Pro Loadout is what I think is a good loadout. The DMR does a little more damage than the BR because of the DMR has a one shot while the BR has a three round shot making the BR just a little less accurate. The BoltShot is like a shotgun in your pocket. Great for killing enemies when they go around corners. The frags are just frags. Mobility allows unlimited sprint. So getting to power weapons such as: Rocket Launcher, Sniper Rifle and Energy Sword. is much easier. Other people have to wait a few seconds before they can sprint again. Dexterity allows faster reload time, faster weapon switching. That is my loadout. Whats yours? What Next? Please don't hesitate to drop a like on my profile (: Feel free to check out the rest of my content, a please don't hesitate to add me on Xbox Live! I need lots of players for plays on my epic forge maps (: Thanks guys! You've been great!

  5. On forbes.com there is a new article on Spartan Op's with Frank O'Connor. Here is the article. For gamers, November 6 isn’t just Election Day. It’s the day when the Halo Nation get their collective hands on the long-awaited Xbox game, Halo 4. But gamers have even more to look forward to than the continuing adventures of the Master Chief and his ethereal AI sidekick, Cortana. 343 Industries will also be releasing the first segment of Spartan Ops, one of ten “episodic co-op adventures” (like a TV series but streamed via your Xbox). The episode sets the context for a gameplay mission. In other words, after you watch the episode, you can actually play it to continue the plot of the episode you’ve just seen. But you don’t just play one adventure per episode. You play five. According to 343 franchise development director Frank O’Connor, “Each week, we’ll introduce five [emphasis mine] 10 to 15-minute missions that continue the story of the UNSC Infinity.” That’s a whole lot of Covenant-killing action—and that’s in addition to Halo 4. (Spartan Ops is free with the purchase of the game, although Halo 4 will set you back $59.99 or $99.99 for the limited edition.) Even though Spartan Ops will be released the same day as Halo 4, Spartan Ops is actually a sequel to the main game. But rather than further the storyline of the Master Chief, the series will follow two Spartan squads, Crimson and Majestic. That way, Spartan Ops will keep spoilers to a minimum. O’Connor, however, offered tantalizing tidbits: “The story of the UNSC Infinity intersects with the Halo 4 campaign, but continues on through Spartan Ops after the events of Halo 4. The UNSC Infinity plays an important role in Master Chief’s adventure, and while Spartan Ops is separate from Halo 4’s campaign, don’t be surprised if you periodically cross paths with the Chief. “In the first episode, you’re going to find the Covenant is doing an archeological dig and has discovered an ancient artifact. You don’t know what it is, but the Covenant wants it, so that’s good enough for you.” The “you” O’Connor refers to is a Spartan supersoldier (either male or female, your choice) that you can personalize with “a new armor modification system that introduces gameplay-enhancing customizations for the first time in a Halo game.” As you progress through the game, you unlock more, presumably more awesome, gear. You can go it alone, but O’Connor said that single-player gameplay will be difficult. However, Spartan Ops supports “matchmaking,” that is, the game “will find you three other players at the same state of the series as you are, so you can play it together and hopefully make some new friends.” (And everybody needs friends who would kill for you, even virtually.) Will any familiar voice actors make an audial appearance? O’Connor said, “We have a couple of actors in the game we haven’t announced. It’s not a star vehicle, but there are great journeymen character actors in the series.” Sounds like a terrific way to introduce and develop the Halo storyline. Heck, it sounds like a terrific way to create a whole new form of entertainment and media delivery. But are these daily episodic missions really only fifteen minutes each? “The gameplay is as long as your friends are cooperating,” said O’Connor.

We've got a teaser trailer for you here, and below that, some blurb on what to expect from events in Episode 2 (left until last in case you're on a super-stringent spoiler blackout). http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=TByBdJAUoD4 This week on Halo 4: Spartan Ops -- The mysterious artifact recovered from Requiem takes control of vital systems on board the UNSC Infinity, forcing the Spartans of Crimson and Majestic back down to the planet to look for a way to free the ship. 9. Here are a few examples of why I hate Halo 4 down to my very soul, I love the series but just what 343i has done to this most recent installment is for lack of a better word an "Abomination". *NOTE* Don't think of this post as hatered towards the series, I love the series, but the recent installment has dissapointed me and makes me regret buying the Limited Edition and ever getting my hopes up that it would be a game that you can have fun in. OverPowered Weapons- For one the plethora of needlessly overpowered weapons, for example the Binary Rifle (Basically a hand held Gauss Cannon with a scope that leads to camping, weapon hoarding, spawn camping, and is just a horrible excuse for a "Weapon", it should be instead named the "Rape-Machine"), the Incineration Cannon (Offspring of a Rocket Launcher, a Shotgun, and a cluster bomb leading to excessive "Cross-Mapping" and is also a great "Bunker buster" as you have a chance to dodge a rocket or use cover to avoid it but "Oh No" the Incineration Cannon doesn't give a care in the world about cover going over it and in some cases through it.), the suppressor (A SAW in any battle within 6 feet, not really that bad but still an issue as anyone who goes around a corner and someone camping with this tool will decimate you 9 times out of 10), the lightrifle (Which makes both the DMR and Battle Rifle obsolete, same issue as with the DMR 4 shots = instant death without any time to react or return fire with the chance of surviving), Sticky Grenades (Really not a huge problem until you can now SPAWN WITH THEM, which is total bull anyways as 85% of the time everyone spawns with stickys in addition to the Explosives Support Perk and the other perk which allows you to carry 3 grenades which leads to no one using guns in CQC anymore its just a flurry of sticky missles being hailed at eachother which makes the winning of the game based on who can camp with the Boltshot and throw the most stickys instead of things like "Skill", "Tactics", and "Teamwork" very underused), Beam Rifle (Offspring of a Sniper Rifle and a DMR which allows for amazing hipfire kills very easily and extremely fast leading to snapshots galore), the DMR (Doesn't sound very overpowered does it? 4 shots kills you fast enough to where you have no time to react isn't overpowered at all [sarcasm]), and last but not nearly the least the unmistakable unthinkably overpowered weapon widely known as the Boltshot (I call it the "No-Skill Insta-Kill as it requres 0 skill and only 2 tactics in addition to you being able to SPAWN WITH SUCH AN OVERPOWERED WEAPON, camp in a corner and wait for someone to walk by and ruin his day with a crossbreed shotgun instant killing machine or they could rush a person with it and with a small amount of hope the defender may kill the Boltshotter but it is in vain as it just incinerates his body instantly with very little chance of success.) Lag- Next on the list of things that make Halo 4 the most poorly designed and executed gane I have played thus far, the LAG and don't respond with something along the lines of. "Oh no your just butthurt because you suck and your connection is crap!" I've heard this all before frankly I don't care if you don't lag if you don't lucky you don't brag about it but for many people with good connections it ruins everything in terms of trying to have fun, the various occurences of lag are as follows, Teleportation (Of me and enemies) spawning under the map and (Committing Suicide), inability to spawn (the game just says "Time to spawn/respawn 0 seconds" for about 1 minute and by that time I'm getting spawn camped by grenades and power weapons), Black Screen Of Death (Because Halo can't have Dedicated servers "OH NO" that be to nice, but no black screens of death routinely happen because the games host or a large amount of players quit (Oh this whole "Drop-In Drop-Out system" is all well and good WHEN IT WORKS because nearly every single time someone quits and I'm playing guess what happens? Black screen of death, some last 5-10 seconds while some last up to 5 minutes leading to me having to "Dashboard-It" just so I can continue playing. This lag I know comes from the fact that Halo "Must" have player host based servers so when that host has a crap connection it leads to everyone in the server getting brought down to his/her level. Were Halo to get some dedicated servers that lag would be DRAMATICALLY reduced. If you don't believe me on this whole "Lag" situation go to YouTube and look it up, you'll see people with perfectly normal connections teleporting all over the place and getting owned. Hackers/Hacking- Now, lets move on to one of the more touchy subjects that people love to start needless flame wars over. Oh yes Im talking about the one thing gamers hate more than lag, Hackers. Now, I could go on a rant on how hackers are obviously bad, ruin the game, and cause people like me regret every buying Halo 4, but I feel this is a pointless venture as someone (Likely many) Halo fanatics will begin posting their opinions on this page about how there isn't any hackers, you just suck at Halo, their just better than you so you have to say they hack. I have heard and seen this before as well and if you think people don't hack Halo than your probably one of them, if you think someone getting temp-banned for 1 or 2 days for hacking is good enough your wrong. So I will restrain myself from doing so and just list as many of the hacks I have seen off the top of my head with some minor comments throughout. Hacking needs to be delt with much more aggressively than it has before because whatever they are doing to hinder the problem isn't doing enough. I have seen countless times examples of "Near fully-Auto DMRs/Pistols", "Weapons with seemingly bottomless clips" (Namely Overpowered weapons such as the Binary rifle, Incineration Cannon, etc...), Active Teleport anywhere in the map, Vehicle jacking beyond the player height limit, Aimbot (VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM, really if you don't fix this 343i there is something very very wrong with your decision making process), the ability for bullets to "No-Clip" through the map, and seemingly infinite health and grenades. These are just a few of the many hacks I have seen throughout the various maps leading to death, again, and again, and again. Maps- How about now I make note of how the current maps in Halo 4 (Including the Crimson DLC) are terrible. Some are good, some are O.K. and many more are just awful. "Haven" for example, one of 343i's poster maps is in the top 3 worst maps of all time on my list. First of all one side spawns at the bottom of a ramp allowing the opposing team to send all of their grenades flying like mortars in and around their position making it difficult to move outside your safe zone, by this time the enemy team has more than likely already rushed over the minor crevice and is on top of the ramp with their advantage of altitude over the enemy team and slaughters them. In some cases the situations can be switched with the side that spawns on the ramp rushing to the top of the ramp uses the fact that the lip of the ramp covers their head almost completely allowing them to fire away and decimate the enemy team with DMR's and Battle Rifles with little chance of retaliation. 3rd possible case that happens at the beginning of the game, both teams rush to the middle but the team that spawns at the ramp gets their first because of their close proximity uses the middle cover and decimates the coverless opposing team. Any of these ways the teams get virtually slaughtered with one side losing little and the other losing everything due to the unbalancedness of the map. secondly this map is a prime location for Boltshot campers due to its large number of sharp inescapable corners leading to death after death, especially at the ends of the man cannons which in addition to Active Camouflage can render the person who lands off of the ground dead without any chance of survival. Another example of an unbalanced map is "Abandon" in which one team spawns above ground and has the advantage of making it to the middle first giving them the advantage of being above ground and they almost in all cases decimate the opposing team which has to rush up from their poorly defended and nearly useless cover coated spawn and pray that they can get some kills before death. Lets make an example of a horrible "Crimson DLC" map, this map is a glorious waste of money, Oh sure they look impressive but in use they are all disgustingly unbalanced. Take for example "Harvest" on the SWAT game type. In this it is just a rush to the top of one of the many excessively tall rocks to get Cross-Map headshots instantly with amazing cover leading to a monotonous game of "Spawn-Die" with little chance of retaliation. There are several more maps I could go on about but this paragraph is getting a bit lengthy so I'll stop this note of unbalanced and horribly designed maps here, the maps may look amazing but looks mean nothing when you are getting spawn killed over and over by enemies. Spartan Ops- Lets get off this topic of "War games" problems for a moment and move on to a different game mode "Spartan Ops" Oh don't get me wrong I thoroughly enjoy spartan ops but the fact that each chapter can be easily finished on heroic in just around 10-15 minutes with very generic "Go here, pick this up, drop off over here, then go kill this group of people, then hold out against their reinforcements." this gets monotonous and boring amazingly quickly, Firefight In Halo: Reach didn't get this boring this fast. Spartan Ops really needs to be expanded in a more exotic way doing more things that are a challenge and fun to do as most things that happened in season one that looked very impressive was almost always in an uninteractive cutscene. Here's and idea on a cool mission idea: Fly a pelican "Litearally fly it, that would make it more fun" Infiltrate a covenant cruiser, battle-cruiser, frigate. etc... and you have to fight your way through waves of the ships inhabitants to get to the ships captain and subdue him "Likely an elite" and have to drag him to your pelican and then fly away as the infinity nukes the ship from orbit leading to an epic and fun escape and infiltration mission. Also you never see yhe Infinity use it's massive array of firepower on really anything which makes it just a "Dog with all bark and no bite" show off the ships abilities 343i, you made it, show it off make it look good don't make it just some floating paperweight that doesn't help really at all. In addition to the monotonous gameplay, when attempting to play with your friends over xbox live it is heavily difficult to play because the once again lag which is the fault of not having dedicated servers and everyone being forced to run off of one persons connection forcing me to play online with people I don't know who just rush in, take your kills, run you over with vehicles, and troll you in addition to still lagging albeit not as much or alone which isn't very fun when in the missions it always talks about "Team" Crimson, a 1 man team is kind of difficult to believe, you are a Spartan IV not Master Chief. Also why does every time you get extracted in spartan ops you never actually get in the vehicle to leave you just stand next to it and it flys off without you? it's a little complaint but you cant just code an extra 5 seconds of gameplay to actually see your characters walk or jump in? That just seems like lazyness to me. Spawning- How about "Spawning"? which does coincide with maps but I feel it deserves it's own "Mini" paragraph. Spawning has always been a problem I've seen in Halo Multiplayer but in Halo 4 it takes the cake of just unplayability. for example In a dominion match, why would it spawn me inside an enemy owned and occupied base with no chance of survival? Why would I spawn directly in front of the enemy and get immediately assassinated in Slayer? Why when I spawn in Big Team Battle my face gets torn off by the sniper bullet of some player the second I spawn? Why I ask must enemies spawn on your side of the map at the beginning of the map and kill you instantly? please if you could explain why this is necessary please go ahead I'd love to hear it, because it isn't getting any better, the more I play the worse it gets. Forge- Forge, theres a game type many wouldn't complain about but the problems I have for forge are minor in the least and can very easily be corrected should 343i take some initiative. I would like for the build limit for all objects to be increased the needs I have require a much larger variety of resources, Reach had a perfect amount of things to forge with for my various projects but the amount of materials in Halo 4 seems to be lacking to a serious extent restricting me to small pointless maps. In addition to this, it would be nice if there was a map dedicated to Forge like "Forge world" from reach it was monotonous but it was perfect for almost anything you wanted to build, the possibilities were limitless but in Halo 4 the possibilities are very limited by the low amount of resources I am able to use. Weapons and vehicles- Not merely just "Weapons" I am covering in this paragraph, I am asking why. Why does the "UNSC Infinity" have such a "Large and Expansive" armory that holds not only weapons from the UNSC but the Covenant and Forerunners but in such an armory not a single SMG is held? Flamethrower? No missle pods? You would think they might have some spikers? some needle rifles? they had the DMR from reach but not the Needle rifle? No grenade launcher? it may be obsolete now but no plasma rifles? or plasma repeaters? no plasma launchers? Im getting at there were all these great weapons from past games and you advertise how large the armory of the infinity is yet you don't even have an SMG? Really? Come on, the SMG is a great weapon and just adds diversity to the inadequate variety weaponry in Halo 4. The Infinity being bigger than some cities houses thousands of people, and thousands of vehicles in their garage bay and in this garage is strictly pelicans, mongooses, warthogs, and scorpions? No Hornets? Vultures? Grizzleys? No transport warthog? No Falcon? my favorite aerial vehicle the Falcon is not in the infinity? 343i you have set in the lore of the Infinity that it is such a superstructure that houses so many weapons and vehicles but in reality your variety is very little in both vehicles and weaponry, I am not saying you don't have many vehicles or weapons, I'm saying the variety of choices is limited. A majority of the new weapons in Halo 4 are all Power weapons and of the vehicles returning the choices are little especially since you can only fly a Pelican once in the entire game. Also why is it no longer possible to dual-wield weapons? Spartan Palmer can in a cutscene but I cant? Really? Don't say that "Dual-Weilding is unfair and unbalanced" Because almost everything you have done with war games makes it unfair and unbalanced to everyone who trys to play for the fun of it. Armor Customization- I believe this is the last major complaint in this long list, Armor Customization. It seems like something 343i has already done but Reach did an amazingly better job than Halo 4 did, Several of the helmets, chestpieces and vambraces have changed and I believe there should still be the same armor choices in reach in Halo 4. For example the EOD helmet was my favorite helmet in Reach but now you changed it to where I just hate it I should have the option to have Reach's version. Also where did the MK. V Helmet go? I know many people that loved that helmet and to just take it away like you did is really really uncool. It was much more creative when you could put health packs, storage, wrist Tac-Pads and the like on your spartan no matter how useless they may have been they were interesting and added more in the line of armor customization.I know many people that miss the loss of the cybernetic replacement arm and the pilot helmet, as with the health packs, tac-pads etc... they may have been useless but they added a new and interesting way to customize your spartan. You replaced all of these things with the stances.....That is so creative (Sarcasm) it is so creative to have 16 people in a match and every single one of them have either the last stand or the assassin stance. If you wanted to make these limited amounts of stances more creative you could have added where you could customize what weapon your spartan holds in the picture based on what commendation they have mastered and they can choose how it looks. But no of course this didn't happen along with a seemingly never ending list of things that could have been done better but were not even touched upon, What 343i did with Forward Unto Dawn was very creative and I enjoyed it, it helped me get ready for the release of Halo 4 I was so excited I preordered the Limited edition and now after all of this... It feels like just a waste of money, I could probably make another 10 paragraph post on 10 different things I hate but this is growing tiresome and I highly doubt anything I have written today will have even the slightest effect on your future decisions in regard to the Halo series. I have been putting off writing this for weeks now because I knew if i did it wouldnt matter and people would just insult me because of their ignorance. Good luck in your continued efforts to make Halo a game for people who would see it abused.
  10. So lately I've been getting bad lag during online Spartan Ops games. It's been happening in every game I join. My internet connection is fine in other War Games. Anyone know why?
  11. After seeing a list of the chapters the Easter Eggs are in (except no description of where they are was included), I know that Seize the Power (Ch. 3, Ep. 10) has the last Red vs. Blue radio Easter Egg. However, I've not been able to find it, and after replaying the chapter 3 times now, it's clear that I'm missing something (and getting rather frustrated). I know there's no achievement for finding all of the radios, and the Roses vs Violets achievement is unlocked by just finding one, but it's still amusing to hunt them all to hear everyone's dialogue. (Before posting a link to a video, know that I've chosen not to search for videos of it because I want to hear it first-hand, not through someone else.) Does anyone know where it is? Just a general area of the map will do, you don't have to be specific about its location.
  12. So since our Halo 5 topic does not include a spartan ops bit yet, I put it here (any mod feel free to move it.) So some people hated Spartan Ops some loved it, I generally enjoyed it and in my opinion it became fun when the maps weren't MP maps but genuine SP and Spartan Ops unique maps. Now I like dislike Firefight, it always had a "This could be story driven why isn't it" - feeling to me. Now in my opinion SpOps is a natural evolution of Firefight. I mean the story turned out to be actually good and it left us with a cliffhanger (Halsey betraying the UNSC) The form it has to evolve into has to be more story driven, a co-op campaign to interest the story lovers and of course more immersion due to ingame cutscenes (love the part where your spartan is captured and of your own breaks free and assasinates the elite.) Also the addition to make missions in forge would be great, it can't lose it's value there and people can craft their own missions and get them rated, which could boost spartan ops popularity. share your thoughts here. 2 rules: 1. Have fun! 2. Stay civil!
  13. ok so before I get straight into it, I will note that I would like this to be a full on large project, not a half effort try, if people would like to help we would have to keep minimalism on continuity errors which means we must have knowledge about the background of halo before implementing ideas. I have already started working on this project, the idea is that extending spartan ops with more missions would be cool, so I started forging linear maps that use dominion, extraction, etc. to create the missions. I have found it difficult to split the red team loadouts from the blue team's and am stuck on using a communal weapon as a primary with no secondary and the spawns have ordinance drops with all the team weapons. If anyone has knowledge of a game type that splits red team loadouts from blue team loadouts or to simply remove the weapon, that would aid me significantly on this project. The only game modes that need this are: -dominion -extraction -king of the hill -flood. If this does not exist than the communal weapon would have to stay. That should not be too much of a problem however. Another note is that when I renew my gold membership I will be hosting/joining games for this project once the maps and gametypes have been fully tested and refurnished. The first episode takes place after the halo 4 events when infinity arrives back at earth and a full covenant invasion is taking place. If anyone has any ideas/questions for/about the project, post them and I will try to implement/answer as many them as possible. Also if anyone has any experienced knowledge of forging professional maps I will gladly send the maps/invite to forges for refurnishing. The more help the better.
  14. For some reason none of the Spartan Ops video's work, all that happens when I try to play them is the game freezes for around 10 seconds then displays the error message "An error occurred while the film was playing" But I can play the missions perfectly fine I've finished episode 1 but I don't want to play any of the others as the cutscenes don't work... Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks
  15. I think spartan ops could have been alot better. Not the story, but the gameplay itself. It was kind of repetitive, as things got reused, you were told clear this out, and press this button, and so on. I overall found it much less awesome than the campaign. Anyway I'd like to see what everone else thinks.
  16. Basically, I downloaded the DLC for Spartan Ops episodes 6-10, cleared my system cache, and loaded up Halo 4. Opened the Spartan Ops chapter menu, and I can play every mission except any in Episode 6. It says "PLAYERS FAILED TO LOAD CONTENT. A PLAYER MAY BE MISSING DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT" I've cleared my cache, un-installed then re-installed, and I have Xbox Live Gold membership. Yet I cant access episode 6 of Spartan Ops. Help much appreciated.
  17. Maybe I missed an announcement or something, making me ignorant to the answer of my question, but why can't I view the Spartan Ops episodes? I hadn't played the game in a while, and I thought I'd watch the amazing cutscenes and story again, but it won't play when I select an episode to watch. Is this a bug or something that can be fixed? Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.
  18. 2 days ago i started getting an error msg with my Downloaded Halo 4 under Spartan OPS Co-op. After my 1st play, the completed game does not save but adds up my game points, and i get the following error msg: UNABLE TO CONNECT TO HALO SERVERS I am unable to access the Spartan record and when i back out all 3 Startan tabs for OPS are not accessible any longer, but i am still connected to X-box live since i still have my co-op party on and still can chat with them via party. this started happening just 2 days ago. Everything was fine before then, and i've made no changes to my network or Xbox-360 in several months. But if i restart the game i can play again, but not save. what gives?! Has anyone come across an issue like this? Thanks...
  19. Just looking for some people to play halo 3 custom games again. Its free on the marketplace and i believe two of the map packs are free. If youre interested hit me up GT: Ghost Soldier07
  20. I have downloaded the Forge Map and the Spartan Ops: Episodes 6-10 multiple times. No matter how many times I have downloaded the content I cannot play them. I have already tried different disks and I get the same results. This is a very annoying and frustrating problem, please help.
  21. Present halo's game mechanics and emphasize the skill personality. I think this is a subtle, but signifigant thing. Halo developers have never really openly just explained certain game mechanics like the overcharge on the plasma pistol or the instant kill for hitting someone from behind. There were hints and tips at the matchmaking lobby for halo 3 and Reach I think, but they were taken out of halo 4. Halo only has so many gameplay dynamics like EMPs and beatdowns. Then there's things like crouch jumping, plasma grenade launching and etc. The main mechanics however are a big part and most new players or even casual veterens won't take the time to read weapon details or experiment, or read the manual. So basically what I'm saying is to really shove those things in our faces. Maybe have it so when you're holding a plasma pistol that there's notification on your HUD that says "Hold__________to charge". There could be an option in settings to turn off weapon hints too. And put in details for weapon descriptions that say things like "Rapidly depletes shields". There is a good bit of players out there, probably all noobs, that don't realize shield dynamics. Bring back hints at the matchmaking screen that say "Headshots for precision weapons only count when energy shields are down" or something. The other topic is emphasizing halo's skill set. Don't amp up auto-aim on snipers, or take things out of the game for the sake of new players. A lot of noobs and players out there already thought and still think halo takes no skill because they can choose to play sloppy and easily get 1 or 2 kills per life. Most of US don't do that though. Noobs don't really think about deep team-play skills when they play halo for some reason. They don't think about using power weapons like the railgun or rocket launcher to take out enemy vehicles and get multi-kills instead of being selfish and wasting them on minor targets. A lot of noobs don't figure out game mechanics either. So it's a seriously false judgement they make saying "Halo takes no skill" or assuming it has no deep dynamics. Really emphasize the skillset and bring back things like the grav-lift equipment, or those other unique weapons with a learning curve like the grenade launcher from Reach. The dominant atmosphere for all games should be having power weapons only on the map in most gametypes, and power-ups on maps more often. Ordanance should be rare, maybe only certain medals like kill-joys and killing sprees earn up to ordnance. By only power weapons on maps I mean rocket launcher, fuel rod, all snipers...things like that. Then weapons like the SAW and shotguns could be ordnances. Bring back active camo as a power-up too. There could be certain ordnance power ups like damage boost and speedboost for ordnance. Since ordnance is harder to get they might last longer or have more effect. Then overshield and active camo could be on the maps.
  22. First off, I would like to commend 343 on Spartan Ops. I enjoyed the weekly chapters, esp the second half, and in some ways Ops is like Firefight with a story and more momentum. But it is still not Firefight, as many of us have thoughtfully suggested through various forum threads. Here is what I suggest: keep Spartan Ops and bring back Firefight. Here's how: Keep the current options for Spartan Ops, but add in Firefight mode. Basically, Firefight would just be on the Spartan Ops maps, giving players 5 new Firefight environments each week. Firefight is just a gametype, so 343/Affinity would just need to set up the spawning dynamics along with Spartan Ops. And, with the size of Spartan Ops maps there could be more than one Firefight area set up. Spartan Ops/Firefight hybrid model. This would be a blend of the two, with waves of enemies/skulls at locations, limited lives as before, and Spartan Ops like objectives, so that after so many waves of protecting sites, and moving to new locations on the same map. If the team makes it through the second group of waves they move to a new location, etc. You get the point. And the Firefight mode should be like with ODST: with limited lives, which can be earned with each new wave. This could be the way Firefight mode is, a new hybrid model, or a third option. The point is, simply put, we like Spartan Ops and we miss Firefight, like we miss the Flood. What would be Epcot would be Firefight Flood, with AI marines who can be infected, and the bodies of dead Spartans! A bit of a tangent here, buying have a new thought: infected Spartan bodies would retain weapons/loadouts/armor, etc. You would respawn, but the body of the dead Spartan, if not incinerated, would reanimate. Think of that for a moment. CV
  23. I first came to the Halo forums in 2009 / 2010 on Bungie.net. And I've always been eager to share discussions and ideas with the community, but I haven't been on in a while so right now I'm like "meh". I don't feel so passionate right now. Anyway when the whole "change vs. no change" and "keep Halo Halo" war started raging at first I was on the side of radical change and drastically evolving Halo 100%. It was fun thinking about ways to evolve Halo's gameplay and style. Sometimes I had radical ideas and some-times I was a lot more subtle. I thought of myself as putting a lot of deep thought and consideration into my arguments and ideas on those threads, but regardless I still got a lot of "keep Halo Halo" retaliations, "that's stupid" remarks, and "this isn't Call of Duty" attitudes. The thing is after Reach was less than and far off from what a lot of us thought it could be, I now know by experience how even seemingly minor things can be a huge deal, like bloom. If bloom was in Halo 4 I might even hate it. So even now I think Halo 4 has some significant things amiss that are more than hindering its lasting appeal, at least for me. I didn't even start playing the game until about 5 days ago, but before then I was watching Youtube videos and I was already feeling like there were some things off. No no no I'm not bashing Halo 4! I'm still all for evolving the series. I absolutely don't think that change should be shunned or that it's impossible to evolve Halo without upsetting the spirit of the game. I understand I'm no game developer, and my enthusiasm for discussing and sharing ideas has been drained a bit. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't contribute to the community besides buying the game. I'm a veteran and I still love this game and what it can be. I won't leave just because we may flop big or small sometimes. So now that the lame disclaimer is out of the way I did just have a couple thoughts. Of course some of these probably can't be put in at the time, but for future Halos maybe. Add Spartan Ops into the match-making hopper with the other playlists. Have one playlist where players can play through all the chapters and episodes in order starting with the first one. Have another playlist where players can jump in and vote on different chapters or episodes to play. If episode voting is implemented then players can choose to leave the party without being penalized between each chapter. Is Spartan Ops under rated, even just a little? I don't know how accurate the player counts for playlists are on H4 xbox live, but I think a lot more people would play it if it was just in the matchmaking hopper with everything else. I mean right now there's only 5 different options for chapters under the Spartan Ops hopper. I think it's worth it. I won't bet, but at least 400 more people will be playing Spartan Ops with that.....at least I really think so. A lot of new players to Halo who didn't really care much for it before will get disinterested after so many games. Watching Youtube videos gave me that perspective, but gametypes like Flood and Spartan Ops are definitely things that stand out a bit more especially to new players. Bring back the campaign search feature. Is it possible to bring back skulls to find in campaign as an update? I wished that there were more extras in the campaign. I saw in Halo Waypoint that data pads were noted, but I haven't found any in the campaign. Those are only from Halo Reach aren't they? I'm not sure. I might have missed that bit of new if they're in Halo 4. I wish equipment was brought back and implemented along with AAs. Jetpack would only be available to use in Spartan Ops, and in matchmaking the gravity lift would be the alternative. I know a lot of Halo players were very fidgety when it came to jetpacks ruining the aspect of map control among other things. I think if equipment were in Halo 4 that it should replace power-ups for personal ordnance, or that there should only be weapons and grenades for personal ordnance and equipment + power-ups + power weapons on the map. All power-ups would be on the map and in preset locations that you'll want to watch out for. I won't go to deep into what I would do or how, but I just want to see them return in future Halos instead of being an exclusive to Halo 3. Having equipment would have still left some spice in the classic playlist as well. Add in Legendary Skirmish or Legendary Big Team with full-on map remakes from Halo 3 including Sandtrap. Legendary Skirmish and / or Legendary Big Team's gameplay would strongly resemble Halo 3 or Halo 2, minus equipment. If 343 does try to do more map remakes like Sandtrap, Guardian, and etc then that would be awesome. One of the things in specific I miss about Halo 3 are the Elephants on Sandtrap. Besides that I was just envisioning power-ups, power weapons, and maybe armor abilities on the maps with a mix of objective and slayer games. Base player speed would be faster and sprinting could be disabled for at least some gametypes. There would also be map variants like "Sandtrap Heavy" from Halo 3. Maybe they could also tailor the armor abilities to have limited uses too. Auto Forge and Auto Invite for Custom Games. I haven't played too many custom games yet. I would start up a ton of them, but I want to use my 14-day free trial to play matchmaking and join games instead of forging. And I don't have an actual Xbox hard drive. I don't think too many new Halo players are hardcore forgers. If auto forging were implemented in Halo 4 it would only be pretty basic. Manual forging would still be way more creative and advanced. The way I think of it is that you would press the Y button at the Forge lobby screen to toggle between auto and manual forging. In auto forge you would have to option to set the dynamics for around 4 or 5 different forerunner monitors visible as options (like 343 Guilty Spark). One monitor might have options for auto-building the map's structure by placing ramps, bunkers, and etc. Another one may have settings for how the map will play (auto forging should probably only work for one gametype at a time). So if someone is auto forging a slayer map there will be settings for "general weapon palette", "max / minimum power weapons", "vehicle palette", "racy" (meaning spawn times for weapons are really fast or something), "paced" (meaning weapons spawn times are slower), and etc. For Custom games there should be an option to automatically invite recent players who you last played a game with. I should have put this in before. Auto Forge is a map generator not a map maker. Monitors don't actually go into the map and place things, you put in the details for each monitor at the lobby screen and the map is generated before you spawn into the game. "Pinging" I think this would be a cool element to add. In most playlists players would not be able to see where weapons, grenades, and etc. are on the map via their HUD unless they're within 20 meters of them. When players press up on the d-pad while looking at items like weapons a waypoint will show up on all other team mates HUDs telling them where the item is. This could also apply to vehicles and objective items like flags. Maybe if more interactable environments like gates, bridges, passage ways, and etc. are implemented again like in Halo 3 and Halo 2 then pinging could also be used to alert team mates of their status as well.
  24. My spartan ops is not working. Yesterday it worked perfect but today when i wanted to continu it is not loading. when i start the game is says: downloading data from xbox server en then i see loading 0% en after 1 hour it still is at 0%. i've checked my internet and its working fine. what can be the problem?
  25. Okay this is just another theory about Cortana's survival, however this time related to Spartan Ops. In the campaign it seems unlikely that the librarian, who had made such accurate predictions regarding the outcome of the Chief would let Cortana "die". So similar to other theories it's very possible that the librarian either copied her when they met, or made some modification that would save her. There are many modifications she could have made, but if you notice when Cortana's terminal is destroyed, a similar data field. To that knights etc leave when killed. So maybe this data field was then uploaded to some forerunner digital world and that's were Cortana is now. You may now be wondering how this links to Spartan Ops, well so far those who have played through them will have noticed that many humans have been sucked into what could easily be a 'digital world'. Now if then look at the Halo 4 achievements, there are two back to back achievements for Episode 4 - Chapter 5 and Episode 5 -chapter 1. Now this is only a couple of weeks away so it would be early, but maybe there'll be further clues there? Anyway that's just my theory, please add your own and feel free to pick apart mine
