  1. I'm not sure how much of Halo 4 is done yet but what I do know is this. Everyone I have talked to agrees that Halo 4 needs to be like an upgraded version of Halo 3 which Halo Reach was not at all. I'm going to list things that Halo 3 has that I want to see in Halo 4 and things in Halo Reach that I do NOT want to see in Halo 4. First off I think we all enjoyed all of the Easter eggs in Halo 3, for me it was a big part of the Campaign. I enjoyed not only the purposely made Easter eggs like the infamous "Boxer Man" on the mission Halo but I would also like to NOT be confined to the campaign area itself. You could get out of the level on so many campaign missions in Halo 3 which was amazingly fun. Remember how in forge you could get outside of a lot of the maps by using turrets or a teleporter? That is one big thing I miss about Halo 3. Also in Halo 3 you had quality maps, not recycled campaign maps. Even if the recycled campaign maps on Halo Reach were fun to play you couldn't make anything on them. I think they added forge world to make up for all the other bad maps and forge world isn't even that great. I want quality maps in Halo 4 and I want freedom, no stupid kill zones and a plethora of items to use on EVERY map. I would also like to see more environments like snow maps, sand maps, water maps, forest maps, and mountain maps like in Halo 3. If you're confused about what I said because of my crap writing skills then i'll sum up what I said. I WANT freedom in Halo 4 and I WANT variety. NO more boundary bull crap and NO more Recycled bull crap. This is a forum so you're obviously free to share your opinion and if you agree with me please start your own post so we can spread the word.
  2. Hey Guys! I have noticed a lack of planned events on the Community Calender. Although I'm sure the heads up touraments are great (I have never really liked one v.one or other few people games), I find that the community would benefit from a large custom games group, with both planned, (ie every friday at 6) and spontanious games, so that our community will not just have serious touraments, but some fun game nights every week. Forgers will be able to show off their maps and we can have a relaxed setting where people of all levels can play and have a good time. Any thoughts would be greatly appriciated.

Since the Banshee has pretty much been confirmed to be in H4 by its presense in some of the latest concept art, I figured I'd make this poll beacuse the banshee is near and dear to so many people, including myself. I thought the H3 Banshee was both more balanced and more powerfull and much preferred that, also felt that it looked allot cooler so I'm glad to see them going back to the H3 style in the concept art.

  5. Hello all, Like most of you, I am saddened by Bungie's recent termination of providing Halo data services. The services that we had all been accustomed to and had appreciated very much have ceased to exist. Since April 1, 2012, I have visited my online Bungie-provided Service Record for Halo 3, only to discover that my most recent games are no longer being logged for future reference -- no more showing my friends that amazing extermination I earned in Team Slayer, or priding myself in my aggregate medals I've achieved over four years of continuous game-play. I fear that, now that the data services have been terminated, this puts Halo 3, among other aging Halo titles, one step closer to having its online playing servers discontinued. In order to keep an invested interest in Halo 3 and other pre-Reach, Bungie-developed titles, I would like to see 343i and/or Microsoft take up Halo data services for the games that the entire Halo community still enjoys today. As of now, Halo Waypoint, the new source for online Halo data available through Xbox's website, only updates information for a player's Service Record for Halo: Reach and Halo: CE Anniversary. I would very much like to see existing Halo 3 data, as well as future data, be made accessible through Halo Waypoint as well. Perhaps even transferring all existing Halo data, including archived Halo 2 data, could be part of such a transition. I have created this thread for anyone who also shares the same sentiments to express their own thoughts on this matter. While I would like to see this change implemented, and perhaps it isn't even an issue 343i and/or Microsoft could feasibly address due to lack of legal control over financial/capital resources (or over rights to own/provide pre-Reach, Bungie-developed data), I would certainly at least like to entertain a discussion about any other viewpoints there may be. For instance, one might say "Halo 3 is coming up on five years old, and there needs to come a time where the old ceases to exist to make way for the new." Well, I disagree -- Halo 2, arguably the watershed title for making the Xbox LIVE experience what it is today, was discontinued because it was only for the original Xbox LIVE servers (which went offline April 14, 2010), which is a valid reason; however, as long as the current Xbox LIVE servers are online, I see no reason why one of the world's best-selling titles, the sequel to one of the "founding fathers" of Xbox LIVE, and its corresponding online data services, should be completely terminated. But, this is only one opinion, so... To all of those veteran Halo fans out there, especially those who still appreciate Halo 3 -- let me know what your thoughts are! -C6Vette

  7. halo 3 is slowly declining in its online players. THAT MUST NOT HAPPEN!!! Halo 3 was one of the best halo games ever made, as was its multiplayer! Respond to this topic only if you support me and believe we need to keep halo 3 alive!
  8. if halo 4 doesnt sequel the gamplay of halo 2 and 3 im going to sell my xbox. Because i own an xbox to play halo and real halo doesnt have bloom, armor abilities, sprinting, crapy maps, a terrible ranking system or DMRs. A real halo game has battle rifles, good maps, solid controlled gamplay with a competitive ranking system. No BS that makes the gameplay complicated to the point to were the luck factor goes up 100%. Dont listen to all the noobs that havnt even played halo 2 back in the day when it was great. Spinting only makes the spawns worse than cod spawns and iron sights just dont go along with halo, dont listen to the noobs who want this. The BR was great, most satisfaction out of any weapon in halo. Bring it back, there was no reason to take it out in reach, people only complained about because they were stupid noobs who couldnt use it. Lots of new ideas dont need to be brought into number 4, it just needs to have polished halo 2 and 3 gameplay. Without Halo Xbox is just as bad as PS3. Consol is outdated the largest majority of the community are kids and casual gamers who dont care about winning. PC is the way to go, it will always be better than console because it can be upgraded. There is nothing console has over PC other than halo because everthing comes from PC other than console only games. i have many other reasons why PC is better for the hardcore gamer
  9. First and foremost, get rid of the loadouts. In my opinion, the loadout feature has ruined the entire Halo experience. I think most of the Halo vets will agree with me on that one. Why be lazy and use a jetpack when you can learn super bounces like in Halo 2. Why be a ***** and hide under your armor lock when you can strategically plan out the smartest time to pick up the overshield. Next. BR > DMR. The DMR is trash. The BR was such a better go to weapon. I mean come on, strafing and placing your shots is enough to comprehend, but to strafe, place, and TIME your shots? Get real Bungie. I really hope 343 destroys the DMR and brings back the BR. Ranking system. The Halo: Reach ranking system is the worst ranking system I've ever experienced in any game, ever. You don't even have a number that says how skilled you are! Instead, all you get is a symbol that says how much you play! I would much rather be ranked on how WELL I play the game, not on how much I PLAY the game. Halo 2 had my favorite ranking system. All you need is a simple, solid number that says your skill. I remember when I first got my 30, how pretty the colors were on that number. Halo 3's ranking system was ok, but then again, experience points and grades are unnecesary to me. Glitches. I miss all of Halo 2's glitches. Super bouncing, BXR, Double shot, getting outside of maps, etc. I had so much fun with all of these glitches in matchmaking. I also had a lot of fun trying to figure them out in custom games with a group of friends. I would love to see 343 bring back the super bounce, and throw in some glitches of their own. One thing that I have always wanted to see is a custom matchmaking playist. No vetos, no majority vote, just pick a map, pick a gametype, and search for others who have the same custom settings as yourself. Of course keep all of the other playlists like Doubles, Snipers, Rumblepit, etc. Just add 'custom matchmaking' to the playlist. I would also like to see 1v1. Halo 2 had it for a bit but they pulled it as well as on Halo 3. It was there for about 6 months in each game until it was pulled. This time I hope 343 keeps it. Last but not least, I hope to see a lot of the old maps return in their original forms. Lockout is the best Halo map of them all. I really like Blackout too, but it's just not the same. The reason these maps are brought back is because they were so popular and highly demanded. If you're going to bring an old map back just leave it the way it is. I don't care if you have a good idea on how to improve it. If it's a classic, it doesn't need improvement, so don't alter it. Here is a list of maps I hope to see in Halo 4. Lockout, Ascention, Guardian, Construct, Cold Storage, Headlong, Beaver Creek, The Pit, Midship, Ivory Tower. The list goes on. I think most of the maps in H2 and H3 were amazing, but there are a couple that just suck. Honestly, I think I just miss the old Halo experience. I really hope 343 removes every intention Bungie had for Reach and brings back the old features to relive and continue to enjoy the 'Halo experience.' Oh yeah, one more thing i forgot to mention. I always thought team captains would be cool. For example, say you enter team slayer and 8 players are randomly selected. I think the top 2 players with the highest rank should be the team captains. Then the other players will be chosen by the team captains based on their stats, rank, name, annoyingness or however they feel to pick their teammates. I think it would add a little more fairness and teamwork to the halo experience but not so much that it completely changes the game... like Reach.

  11. From game to game we always seems to discuss which weapons we will see in the game that are new, and with the rapidly growing discussion of DMR v.s. BR in the 343i forum community I thought I would bring up a different, however similar topic, which is Which weapons and vehicles do you want to see return from previous games? Some examples of discontinued weapons from the Original Halo Trilogy to Reach where the BR, Brute Shot, Beam Rifle, and Mauler. For vehicles some examples are the Hornet, Elephant, Prowler, and the Chopper. I personally believe that there just simply needs to be a new replacement for the DMR and BR to just end the argument which is better, but I would love to see the return of the brute shot and mauler because when I played Halo 3 I thought they where some of the easiest weapons to get kills with, and I didn't quite understand why they took them out in Reach. As for vehicles, I think that bringing back the Elephant in BTB would be quite simply amazing, as well as the hornet that way in, for example, Invasion when the Elites have their Banshees up, the humans have a way to rival it with a Hornet in the air. I think the falcon did a poor job of rivaling the banshee in Reach and simply made it an easy way for someone to get an easy Triple Kill. On an ending note, since the subject go hand in hand with each other Which Weapons would you like to not see return from Previous games? This can apply to any weapons or vehicles that have appeared in any of the franchises games up to this point, whether they appeared in Reach or not. And as Always, Have Fun Discussing!!
  12. Okay so if you guys haven't noticed, ALOT of people converted back to halo 3 after the release of Reach. Before the release of reach however there were alot of complaints on things that people hated about halo 3, like.....the idea you can hit and kill someone with a melee after their shields are down just halfway......you wanted bloom..enable to separate the "noobs" from the supposed "pros"......and you wanted abilities, like jetpack, or armorlock, or even invisibility as examples. Each time after though, you complained alot more about the wishes you were granted, and in the end, lot of the community resorted back to the more classic halo ways of halo 3. I'm pointing out that for one, alot of you want the whole "shoot-beatdown" thing back now. Alot of you don't want bloom anymore. And alot of you don't want AAs. Making it closer to Halo 3 and the other halo games before it. I'm here to say that, you don't know what you want it seems. Bungie, when making reach, listened to the community alot more than they did with the previous halos, and in return, the community is leaving to play it's predecessors. The community seems to be wanting Halo to play more like old times. Does the Halo community actually know what it really wants? I mean it seems the more leash you give a dog, the more it pulls you. I'm here to ask, what do you actually think Halo 4 needs? I mean, just because you want it to be a sandbox game, doesn't mean it will turn out so great, there are plenty of sandbox games that haven't even got near a tenth of what halo 1-2-3 has brung in. It seems the Halo community always wants more, like a black hole. I would like to ask you today, what do you think the halo 4 actually needs?
  13. Hey Everyone, and Welcome to 'The Official Halo 4 Armor Thread'! This forum talks everything related to armor speculation and ideas for Halo 4. This includes the any Leaked Images, and Ideas for the Unlocking System, Spartan Armor, Elite Armor, ect. Leaked Pictures: *None Yet* Unlocking System: Guys I think that Armor should be in unlockable through the style of Halo 3. There were so many different ways to unlock some. Whether it was ranking up, skulls, or achievements.. You could still unlock some armor. Unlike Reach, where you are actually forced to play till you rank up, then earn enough credits till you can by a certain armor piece. Spartan Armor: For types of Armor, I say mix old and new together so Everyone's Happy. For instance, for Halo 4 they need to bring back some armor from Halo CEA, Halo 3 and Reach. In other words, they must bring back the "Fan-Favorites". One's like Mark V, Mark VI, Recon, Hayabusa, and Commando must make a return. Simply because, they are probably the 5 Most Favorite armor's of all the Halo Titles. And well, they just looked Flat-out Awesome! Elite Armor: For Elites, I prefer Halo 3 because you have a much better choice of Customization. As compared to Reach, where you are limited to pre-set types of armor. For looks, I think they need to make the Elites look like Halo 3. Why? Well because they actually look "Mean". In Reach they just look a little Bobble-Headed and Cartoonish to me.   14. What halo games do you and did you expect more from and expect from? I have created this topic to ask you what you think of what bungie and 343 industries have done in the past games and what you think they will do in the future halo games. Do you think that they will do better then there past or that 343 industries shouldn't have taken over. This is what I thought of there past 5 games: Halo 3- Bungie has done an amazing job on halo 3 and even today in 2012 people that have the newer games like reach and anaversary are still playing. Halo odst- halo odst had a good campaign story a little glitchy though. They had an awesome idea when they brought in firefight and I didn't expect much more from a half priced game other than online firefight. Halo reach- halo reach was a very good game I think it's future will be very similar to halo 3. Halo reach is holding the record out of the halo games for biggest forging map. The campaign was good I missed master chief though. Halo anaversary- was a ok game I was expecting alot more. I was disappointed because really the only good thing they added was the option to switch graphics. Halo 4- halo 4 has a lot of expectation manly because it's a new company but so far I'm liking the thing they have done. Personally I'm pumped that chief is back new weppons vehicles and more. He also says theirs is a ai named bb in glasslands and we will be hearing more about him in halo4. He says that 1 of the noble team could have of survived possibly jun because in reach it did not show him die maybe he could be in halo 4 hostage on the planet. We know for a fact they bring back maps here are a couple of examples Reflection from halo reach was a remake and was broughten back from halo 2s version ivroy tower, Pinicle from halo reach was a remake of the map ascension and hemorrhage was broughten back from halo two except it was called blood gulch. If anyone was wondering about the so called jet pack in the halo 4 trailer, it is not a jet pack it is a 0 gravity pack said frank o'conor. So that means that there might not be any armor abilities we will have to wait and see some gameplay?

  16. Have you ever played a prank on someone on Halo? Or have you had a prank be played on you? If you have, share what happened below! I'll start: Funniest thing EVER. XD When I was 10 years old I started a custom game lobby on Halo 2 on the map Warlock- (Snowy version of Blackout) ok before I actually tell the story I'm gonna tell everyone in case they didn't play Halo 2 that in the center top of the map there was a glass tile that you could see through the ceiling into the floor below. I started up a lobby and within minutes I was able to have a completely full game of people. (All which were older than me XD) Despite me being either 9 or 10, -I cant remember- I convinced everyone that if everyone stood in a circle around the glass tile that it would break if we all shot it at the same time. ...but only with Rocket Launchers. XD I got EVERYONE. EVERYONE. -to stand in a circle all on top of the tile hoping to see the glass shatter beneath their feet. I stood on top of them all, counted to 3, and right before I said 2 I jumped off of them, in mid-air stuck the middle guy with a sticky grenade, and when I said 3 I got a Killionaire! The rest of the game was filled with the gametype change from 'Slayer' to 'Lets kill RANMAN'. XDDDD
  17. Ok my fist topic that i want to touch on is ranks. I think that in halo 4 there should be the halo 3 ranking system so that you get matched up with players based on your skill. In halo 3 ranks actually mattered and people cared about their ranks so they would try every game. One example for why halo 4 needs ranks is because... well, say a player who plays a lot is an inheritor but got there by playing firefight and grifball goes into the mlg playlist he is going to get destroyed! Unless there are h3 ranks! Also, there a lot of community forgers out there (I personally am a community forger) so they should get there own playlist in matchmaking, and this how it would work. A player makes a map and uploads it to this website (or bungie.net or whatever website will be related with h4) where it can be downloaded. Then it will be tested by anyone who plays halo 4. Then based on the rating of the map and how many people like it, it can then be put in the community playlist. These are just a couple of suggestions for halo 4 and hope someone reads this because this would take halo to the next level! Also in forge it would be amazing if you could change landscapes and release new forge worlds in DLC map packs. One more thing, allow forgers to change the color of forge pieces. Most halo reach maps are dull, grey and boring
  18. Well, I learned a valuable lesson yesterday...... DO NOT CHALLENGE QUILTS TO A 1 V 1 IN ROCKETS ON HALO 3!!!!! It was very amusing though. So here is the rundown and a few screenshots to go with it. Sent invite and right away I could tell I was going to have a troublesome match ahead of me. Quilts was all giggly and seemed to be excited about the wrath she was about to unleash on me. She knew right away that she wanted a custom 'Rockets' match on the map 'Guardian'. I graciously complied and proceeded to "start match" and braced myself, for I knew not what to expect. She was explaining how for the past 2 years she had played and practiced 'Rockets' on Guardian and that's when it hit me...... ROCKET TO THE FACE!!! She was thorougly enjoying every single kill! Even taking cheap shots at my downed SPARTAN by tossing a plasma to my dead body and then immediately laughing out of pure enjoyment! How could I compete against such fury?? I was doomed!! But then, by luck or chance, I managed to get my first kill. I believe at that point the score was 7 to 1. I had to make a comeback so I immediately went on the offensive and began to catch up. I couldn't just give up!! I did manage to come within 2 or 3 kills at one point and although I gave it my all, I was ultimately defeated! I congratulated her and she in return commended me for my valiant hard fought effort. So the final score was... imakequilts - 25 Master Kensei - 16 Carnage report..... imakequilts - 25k/16d +9 Master Kensei - 16k/25d -9 Screenshots are small so to view full size, go here under tab Files.
  19. We need to be strong HALO community and not allow for 343 to make the same mistake BUNGIE ended up doing. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back a ranking system - makes the game have a meaning. GET RID OF BLOOM - it ruins the game. Get rid of perks or at least Armor Lock who ever thought that that was a good idea, well we all know, LOL. Bring back the BR or a gun similiar what on earth was the replacement in REACH. IF none of this is considered HALO will simply goo bust people prefer COD or Battlefields and the only originality Halo had was lost in Reach when they stupidly tried to copy them with EXP systems and STUPID perks. I would love to speak to 343 and Im sure millions of experience HALO gamers would too. One more question who actually plays REACH anymore?

In the following list, the things listed are not meant to be thought of as an all in one package, but each as individual suggestions. I realize some of the following items listed may currently be unrealistic or impractical, although I believe they are things that would advance customablity, and also make a drastic change to the gameplay of Halo 4. I do have to say that the things listed would widely open the players to a wider spectrum of creativity, due to the amount of options players would never before thought possible. Objects Options The following is describing options available for any or all objects and maps. Object Solid/Permeable options (For just objects, just players, or both) Object gravity/weight options Entire object color/textures/weather options Object size/proportion options Specific object spawn/vanish time options Object penetration options (How far you can shoot through an object) Object break options (Crack, break, crumble) – this option could be accompanied by damage options which would be how fast these affects take place An object limit number display (right beside budget amount) Bigger object count Object group selection Longer object spawn times (current maximum is three minutes) Functioning options not only for all players, but players apart of specific teams (On/off) ((Example: A vehicle with functioning off would serve for aesthetic reasons)) A “show all” option in item options, which would display a waypoint above every item of that type. An undo/duplicate option. For example, for the undo option, executing an action like placing or deleting a block or item, and being able to undo it. An object limit instead of a budget count. Downloadable object packs Most objects being available on all or most maps Individual Objects Crashed vehicles (Including Pelicans, Phantoms, Elephants) Windows with breakable glass with color, strength, tint, and “one way” damage and view options. Mirrors. (I realize this would take up more angle render usage) Placeable Invisible barriers like in the Halo 3 campaign that have no specific touch, but a strength of resistance Placeable death barriers. Placeable cameras with perspectives that would be viewed through a control panel or display that is accessed by pressing an action button (The RB, B, or X button) or viewed by approaching and viewing the screen. Doors with both/one way options. Automatically opening/functioning doors. Team and or individual life number per round or game. Numbered custom power up options (like teleporter channels but when traits are set to a number, any custom power ups set with that number will take those traits) Longer custom power up duration times (like 5, 10, 15 minutes, etc, or the entire game) Civilian vehicles (Like in ODST) A huge, flat object that could be used for ground, walls, or ceilings of an entire map. Stalagmites and stalactites for caves. A system where you can use more of an object than what you are allowed, but when you do it takes down how many you can use of another similar budgeted/sized object. Example, in Sandbox on Halo3, forgers are limited to 40 double walls. If a player chooses to use a 41st double wall, then another box would appear for a “substitute” item. The player would then choose what object they would no longer be able to use, ( “‘Sub’ block”) such as a double block, leaving a player with 41 double walls placed on the map, but now only 39 double blocks or single walls left available for placement. Missile pods that are in a fixed position Turrets that aren’t detachable Vines, ropes, wires, nets, flood tentacles, etc.(Would have an assigned point(s) or “focal point” that would be attached to the object where it is placed.) Flood “spores” from the Halo 3 campaign (wouldn’t necessarily have flood inside) Working elevators (Smaller, normal sized ones for players, and a larger ones for vehicles) The hovering sniper towers you find often in the Halo 3 campaign, that typically have Jackal Snipers in them General city or civilian object like bridge guard rails, traffic lights, etc. Spinning fan wall pieces Anti-Air cannons from the campaign Planes of different materials, textures (Would also include water) Incredibly large natural pieces, much like the rocks on Halo: Reach, but much bigger, being hills, natural material inclines, cliffs, etc. Pieces for indenting the altitude on a map to hold a river, or to serve as an island Boats that could be controllable (But as recently mentioned, functionality could be turned off for certain players) Equipment from Halo 3. I believe most players would definitely enjoy the return of things like bubble shields, trip mines, and portable gravity lifts. Working vehicle doors much like the one on High Ground on Halo. A power option on Man Cannons that would dictate how far it would send you (To make this easier, there could be an icon that would appear that would show where the player would land)((This would also save item space)) Draw bridges that can be activated by a button, or be set to be raised or lowered ever certain amount of seconds. Game Options An option that would decipher when the only time, or the only time that things like power ups, vehicle, lights, or even weapons can or cannot be activated. Drop ship options, including on/off Covenant, flood, Spartan, etc., AI with difficulty, and on/off certain team options Weather options Map locks so other players than the original map maker can’t edit the map it is assigned to Once again, the listed items are ideas that are still being refined, thought of, and being thought of how it would work with the current fundamentals of Halo: Reach, and how it would play out in what I imagine might be available in Halo 4. Contained the sheet music and i believe mp3 to the majority of halo music. being a high school musician myself i went crazy over this site.
