  1. You guys need to make a playlist just for a specific game and not group all 4 halo's into one playlist like big team battle. Make a big team battle for halo 1, halo 2, halo, 3 and halo4. Have them separate. For example I wanted to just play Halo 1 team slayer and couldn't do that cause there are no halo 1 playlists for me to join! If need be you should organize the matchmaking playlists like the example below. Matchmaking . Halo MCC o Slayer o Big Team Battle . Halo 1 o Slayer o CTF o Big Team Battle . Halo 2 o “” . Halo 3 o “” . Halo 4 o “”
  2. Hello everyone! Just like all of you I recently bought HMCC hoping to play Halo 2 matchmaking again and to relive those happy days I had as a younger self. Unfortunately there are numerous issues with this and that is a bummer; however, there is still CUSTOM GAMES, right? WRONG!!!!! Everyone is so concerned with matchmaking that some of the most annoying problems are being temporarily overlooked. We must have the ability to party up and stay together otherwise what's the point of fixing matchmaking if we can't play with friends.Below are a list of issues me and my friends are having while trying to play HMCC custom games: 1) The in game roster doesn't load or doesn't allow joining a friend where 'join player' is grayed-out 2) If you finally get everyone into a game the team switching is bugged and teams are completely different on other players' screens 3) When the teams are finally even and the game finally starts HERE COMES THE LAG! Teleporting, dropping frames, jumpy killcams, and so much more. These seem more prevalent if someone disconnects while in the middle of the game 4) After that frustrating game ends your party may or may not be broken up and be forced to re-join. 5) Ok, here is the most frustrating thing in the universe besides the holocaust. When trying to re-join a friend there is some cache data bug that is telling the person who is joining's xbox that he/she is already in that session. The only way we've found to work around this is by letting EVERY SINGLE PARTY MEMBER restart his/her game completely to allow re-joining. And the viscous cycle of frustration continues until everyone just gives up. I'm posting this because I haven't seen any talk about it and would like to know if it is just a second priority or if we are the only ones this is happening to. PLEASE comment and tell me if any of you are having these problems. These issues seem just as bad as the matchmaking ones to me and should be fixed first in my opinion. Thanks for listening to my rant!
  3. So, i've been reading about random disconnects during matchmaking and last night i figured out why. Long story short a kid on my team was shooting me and being a general loser. He kept screaming and blasting music so i went to go and mute him when i saw something rather silly. Instead of just seeing "Mute" i had another option, "Kick from party". I entered matchmaking by myself i had no party. So i clicked it and lo and behold he quit the game. I then scrolled to the enemy team and guess what? I was able to kick the whole enemy team and win the game. After that i had the option again for a few games but i decided against using it because there's no fun in it. Today it happened to me 3 times, i just randomly got kicked from the game. Just a headsup, didn't know where to post this so i posted it here.
  4. New to this forum!! Anyways I'd like to know if there is/will be a player count for the multiplayer a and campaigns, if not I'd like to make this a request to have it! Be nice to know what we're dealing with for searching purposes and such (although everyone will play cuz halo rulez duh)
  5. Ok I posted the player count in gd new to this forum unsure of the hierarchy O.o anyways is there going to be or can there be a player count for the multiplayer and campaigns so we can know what we're dealing with in terms of population and searching?? Also are there going to be clans like there was in halo 2 because there 1,000% should be no doubt with the clan gametype and all. And lastly, are the multiplayers going to be separate and have their respective playlists? (I hope so) Also. The radar should definitely go back to classic and not the sonar...don't say a game will be just how it was and it not be that way..
  6. i was really looking forward to this game but everything seems broken... matchmaking is DOA, and it doesn't even have the option for matchmaking co-op... what's with the step backwards (i'm pretty sure atleast one halo game has had it; i think it was Reach however) ... not everyone has a populated friends list (or even wants a fully populated friends list; too many game invites and such) but i still want to play the campaigns on co-op... both functions are already in the game, can we please get them merged for a complete co-op experience. if anyone else has this problem and want to play the campaigns, my gamertag is HAVOC420666 i prefer more mature players, not people yelling or screaming like a spaz.
  7. Flood will still be in Halo right? If it's not in multiplayer for guardians, I will begin taking lives, for real. I know it might not be a big deal for some of you people, but to me, it's all but unimportant. So anyways, keep flood, or die.

  9. I'm trying to unlock the Venator armor set to help complete my armor collection, but I've had very little success with achieving successful assassinations. I've been told that playing SWAT is a good way to get them since the No Motion Sensor handicap prevents the enemy from seeing me wait for them to pass by, but I haven't even passed the Novice level of the Assassination commendation. What maps might be good to try this on? And are there other game types that SWAT that would prove fruitful?
  10. So, here is my main issue with Halo 4. During many different game types (usually CTF) I can get betrayed on average about 3-5 times before I can get an option to boot someone. However, if I were to retaliate and betray those same people, I get Booted for one betrayal. So, why can these people sit here an intentionally betray me countless times before I get an option to boot, but if I were to betray them, I get booted on Betrayal? How is that fair? Also, has anyone else had this problem? >Pic unrelated, just a picture of one of my cats.
  11. Improvements Custom game options: -Toggle bullet & grenade immunity -Toggle vehicle boost recharge -Allow gunner seat without driver -Toggle splatter damage -Toggle splatter damage for vehicles -Toggle Sprint (Symbol denoting disabled sprint at top-right of screen) -Toggle for first-person & third-person assassinations for gametype only (infection) (firefight), otherwise it'll effect the gameplay mechanics. -Toggle Descope Capture the flag: -Toggle one-handed & two-handed flag usage -Toggle ability to drop flag -Make options for 1-Flag. Add in: -Assault (Give it oddball customization) -Juggernaut -RACE -Infection (Remove flood) -INVASION (Merge it with dominion) -Elites get full support -No mention of an 'in multiplayer' story -Toggle dynamic lighting Specials -Introduce a dedicated package ($15-$25) which allows: precision theater features (motions presets and Machinima support), weapon tuning, Kinect adaptations (stances and in-game voice), and extra forge items. -Give community forge support in the form of an ongoing matchmaking playtest (play at your own risk). Players will be allowed to rate maps online and give suggestions. Players with maps that are successfully introduced into matchmaking may receive special armor (let's say, something nostalgic). -Machinima and fan art can be up-voted on Waypoint for the same armor. Players who reach a high enough skill rank in MM will receive another special set of armor. Forge -Ability to toggle cracks, crevices, nooks, crannies, and super-impositions on forge pieces individually (Eg: A flush clean object). These item blemishes are helpful in positioning forge pieces, but can deter from the map's feel. -If textures can't be changed, then we need a variety of forge pieces including: steel (must be there), corroded, creamy, rocky, and industrialized. -Ramps need more magnets, and bridges need magnets on their sides. There should be the ability to toggle magnetism for the same piece that you're holding, and only that piece. -Allow a Far Cry style terrain builder, but this isn't imperative. -There should be a forge page meant for for minimum and maximum frame rates and dynamic lighting budget. Pieces should be given a value based on processing, and not simplified into item limits. (Help me out on this one Twinny) -Scales to modify magnetism, FXs, weather (if not for canvas maps), customs settings, etc. Matchmaking (I'm not including Skill Ranks) -Maps available on release should include: 5 small maps (Skyline, Haven, Adrift), 3 medium (3/4th of Harvest), and 2 large (Ragnarok). The first DLC gives 3 large maps that are compatible with Invasion. The 2nd DLC will give 2 small maps and 1 medium. -All previous vehicles along with Forerunner vehicles & locust. -I would prefer more Arena style maps with tremendous elevation differences and medium/large maps with 360 degree background. (not the stupid x>180 degree backgrounds) -Column based medium/large maps are boring and stagnant. 343 needs to get some creative backbone, so follow the examples of Construct and Valhalla. -Give ricochet more time to bloom. (ILY) -Personal ordinances should be removed completely, and more options should be given for random ordinances (to the point where initial and random ordinances should be combined into one). In matchmaking, ordinances will be dropped from the sky by a UNSC ships, while forge ordinances are holograms. Ordinances will only be used on Big Team maps and forge maps. Weapons: -Gametypes on smalls maps will start with the assualt rifle, storm rifle (or replacement), or suppressor, and a magnum. The magnun can be nerfed from the Halo 4 variant. -Any gametype taking place on medium/large maps will retain loadouts with a choice of a magnum and another Forerunner secondary (not boltshot), and the obvious primaries. The magnum can be dual wielded but the Foreunner secondary can't. -All weapons return -Duel Wielding returns Main Menu & Music -The main menu was good, but the music wasn't. It needs to be sung by a man, and avoid high-pitched sounds. Violins and ambiance are good. During the campaign, percussion instruments in intense moments and action scenes will give off a great atmosphere. Firefight I don't believe that Spartan Ops has more replay value than firefight. Out of all the maps used in Spartan Ops, I would also expect a decent portion of Firefight maps. Imagine flood firefight and round customization. We need comedy (Comedy that doesn't get old. Rampant AI? lol) and objectives in firefight. They should probably introduce massive firefight matches in MM, to simulate Spartan Ops' objectives. I love you purple!
  12. Hi everyone! This is a request for 343i so they bring back elites to Halo 5 multiplayer, both Spartans vs Elites and Elites vs Elites matches... as well as bringing back the game type Headhunter from Reach to Halo 5, that would be really awesome!!! Please 343
  13. You gave me the standard 60 minute ban for quitting. The only reason I have to quit so much is because your developing team failed to design an algorithm that introduces new players into the match after the original ones of quit. This forces me to play uneven matches (5v3, 5v2, 5v1, etc.) that result in vicious loops of me getting killed as soon as I spawn. How is this fun? How is this suppose to be enjoyable? How can you call it a game when its 5 on 2 and the other team has a monopoly on vehicles. Please fix this problem or get rid of your silly ban.
  14. I hate Halo 4 matchmaking (exception being Team Throwdown). It's simply not competitive enough for my tastes. I like to have some purely casual playlists, but it shouldn't be the majority of the game. To be honest, most of my fun in Halo 4 multiplayer only comes from my experiences in competitive customs with my fellow clan members. Although they have Pro gametypes in some playlists, I want more playlists made entirely of game types like these. When I go to a playlist, usually I want to have a balanced competitive experience but instead what happens about half the time is that an infinity gametype is voted, and we all know how much of a mess Infinity Slayer is. My proposal is that 343 Industries adds four playlists to Halo 4 that'd fit solely to the more competitive crowd. Not as strict or harsh as some players find MLG/Team Throwdown to be but not as chaotic and unskillful the normal playlists can be. These playlists should have preset loadouts, 5-second respawns, a number of armor abilities a player can choose from (Hardlight Shield, Thruster Pack, Regen Field, and Hologram I think would be good), static weapon spawns (maybe there could be SOME random ordnance but weapon drops would need one or two clips worth of ammo each, and would need to be sparse), 120% movement speed, and maybe enhanced versions of active camo and jet pack could be picked up by players on the map. For team based modes, players should also be forced into game chat. The playlists would be Slayer Pro (4v4), Rumble Pro (8 players), Objective Pro (5v5) and Doubles Pro (2v2). Maybe if players wanted it, there could be a playlist called Duel Pro which would essentially be 1on1. What do y'all think?
  15. Halo Community, 343i, Microsoft, These last couple of weeks I have been looking for a place where it seems like 343i might be reaching out to the community and actually listening. However, I realize that the relationship between game consumer and creator has deteriorated. Microsoft has forgotten who made Halo popular. Let me remind you. It had NOTHING to do with you. Bungie stumbled upon a great game, and you know what they did? They made it better. Bungie worked with the community. They didn't stray from their roots and I always remember occasionally getting in a game with a Bungie employee or Frankie always making news updates and even see developers in the forums. Not anymore. In Fact, 343i think they did a good job. I don't know if I should laugh or cry. The community has always been what has supported Halo, hell it even made the Xbox what it is today. The only reason people bought the Xbox was for Halo, have you guys forgotten? Or do you think you did it by being a greedy, power hungry corporation? Sorry for the rant but this has been built up for awhile. I can say that I am genuinely emotionally attached to Halo. I remember seeing Halo CE when I was like 12 and immediately wanted an Xbox. The rest is history. I probably played Halo 2 Multiplayer since it came out until Halo 3. Countless hours of fun and joy. That is now completely gone from the game. I want nothing more than for 343i to succeed and make a game that will make me want to play but I am so demoralized by their incompetence I don’t even want to buy Halo 5 unless I know there are certain things implicated in matchmaking. What's even more sad is I am considering switching to PS4, which makes me hurt to even say that. It really isn't complicated, so stop making it. Games these days are a dime a dozen. Nothing lasts, nothing has true passion in the game anymore. It's all about money and I see it in almost every game I play. I am ashamed in the gaming community for even allowing this to go this far. If I could organize a boycott, I would. So yes, I am now switching my blame to Microsoft. Once they got their dirty little fingers on the game all I could do was sit back and watch it be destroyed little by little. Completely powerless. In the end, I realize this will hardly be read by anyone even of remote importance, but I digress. Here are my, (and from what I have read most of the community (by community I mean diehard, played since the beginning fans), suggestions for Halo 4: These are in no particular order: 1. Who, what, when where and why did anyone think it was a good idea to take out the competitive aspect? After reading this you should immediately go into Halo 4 matchmaking and put IN GAME ranking system. I don’t give two craps about what my guy looks like when I just domed a guy. Getting armor from XP and who can play the longest, really? It is a FPS I cant even see myself. Please, put ranking system back. 2.Maps. The maps were horrible! Maybe one or two that were kind of fun but getting boring very quick because that is all that plays. Then, you have the audacity to make us buy new map packs for maps that already should have been in the game!!! Let me give you guys a business tip: first make us love the game, then we won't have a problem buying anything you throw at us. If you just make crap and then expect us to almost immediately start buying more stuff. You drive everyone away. Now you have A) less money and smaller fan base. Good job. 3. I’m sorry, I will admit that I wanted to see AA. Unfortunately they did not work very well and has driven most everyone away. They need to be severely nerfed. If someone had said to me while playing halo 3: in the future you'll be able to fly and see through walls and have unlimited camo. I would just laugh in their face! It ruined what was Halo, please please please get rid of them. They were cool for a second. 4. Lastly, the weapons. A big WTF. Why is every weapon so strong? I swear I played a game today where everyone had a SAW. That weapon literally is one of the worst things to happen to Halo. Not because of the weapon itself, but because you choose to have it on every map and have it spawn ALL the time. WTF. Another match the sword kept respawing every what seemed like 30 seconds. Literally 4 people were running around with them. I thought I had picked the wrong playlist. Please, less is more. I like the innovation but CONTROL it. If any of you have actually made it this far, then I am surprised. All I want is 343i to succeed and I want Halo to be popular again. I want to play so much online that I can not get off at night. Where me and my friends keep saying one more game. I want to be able to come home from a long day and enjoy what I am playing, not be frustrated. So please open your eyes, realize what made Halo popular. Go to your roots. Sincerely, Frustrated P.S. I will be posting this in multiple locations in hopes that it gets read by people who can make a difference. I have done my part as a fan. If you want my money in the future, do your part. Also, if anyone has any emails or other ways for going directly to the developing team, please let me know or forward this to them.
  16. The following are some feature changes that I would like to see in Halo 5. None of them have any bearing on the base gameplay, but instead adjust how we look at, and feel about, the game while we're playing it. Please don't reply without reading, especially to point number 1. I think once you've read what I've suggested there, you'll find that it adds to the experience, without detracting from it in any way. 1. Some form of additional ranking system that doesn't amount to raw EXP. (Don't get me wrong, I like the EXP rating too, check below for an awesome solution) For the exp ranking, you are a private, sergeant, colonel, whatever. But you are NOT a number. (Rank 120, anyone? This needs to go away.) For the skill ranking, or class, your insignia (the arrows of a sergeant, or the stars of a colonel) will be colored, or look to be made of a different material. For example. -Player A has a very low skill ranking. They have a .68 KD in slayer gamemodes, and they lose a lot of objective too. They have only played 12 matches though. -Player B has a relatively low skill ranking. They have a .88 KD in slayer, and they lose nearly every objective game they play. They have played about a month. 110 matches -Player C has a moderate skill ranking. They have a 1.02 KD in slayer, and a .96 win:loss in objective. They have played for a while, 318 matches. -Player D is a veteran, and a very skilled player. They have a KD of 4.15 and an objective win:loss of 3. They have played for months, 2200 matches. Player A might be a Private (class II), their rank symbol will be the arrow of a private, but the symbol's color would be a standard white, because they have not played enough matches to get an accurate skill ranking. Player B is likely a Lieutenant (class III), their rank symbol is the bar of the lieutenant, and is made of a rough, gritty metal granted to all the class III players who stick it out. Player C might be a Colonel (class V), their rank symbol will be the stars of a colonel, and will be the shining gold standard of a rank V player. Player D is probably a "Max Rank" (class X), their rank symbol will be the vibrant shape of a max rank adornment, and will have the fiery orange hue of a sunlit topaz. 2. Lobby style should revert from tabbed playercards to a list of names with a preview pane, like Reach had. (Halo 4 feels so impersonal, seriously. It makes you feel like a number. I feel more individualized at the DMV.) Remember the lobby for Halo Reach? Yeah. It was good, wasn't it? To the right there is a list of players and the teams they're on, with their name and ranking symbol. As you scroll through the list, the spartan preview on the edge of the screen changes to show their spartan and their stats. Simple, elegant, integrated, informative, personal. Well done. Halo 4's lobby looks and feels like Windows 8. Enough said, seriously, I don't even want to explain further than that. 3. When voting on maps and gametypes, the number of votes should be invisible until after voting has taken place. (Peer pressure voting is a real thing, most people don't even realize they do it.) -Add a voting option for "Impartial". The cursor should default to this position when voting, so the button mash voters don't screw the roll by voting for whatever ended up on top. -In the event of a tie, the map is randomly chosen from the tied maps. Players are never shown the vote tally, but may still have communicated with their team while voting. -Gametype should be an independent vote from the map vote when relevant, and voting should follow the same principles therein. 4. Post match data should go back to the way it was in Halo 3, including top medals (MVP should be pictured. Top medals should return to being accurate.) -The post-match screen from Halo 3 was ideal. Honestly, just return to that format, it was nearly flawless. As for top medals: I like top medals, it's a cool addition to the game, like a competition of its own. However, when I see "first blood" as the top medal every match, I want to throw something at my television. Rules for top medals: a. First Blood should ONLY be a top 3 medal when NO OTHER 3 medals have been earned. First blood is earned EVERY GAME. It is not "top" in fact, it is not even relatively impressive. b. Medal count should not supersede medal quality (3 double kills are not as impressive as an overkill, 4 killing sprees are VASTLY easier to achieve than 1 riot) c. Bull-trues are not inherently impressive. Most are either pure luck, or just outright bull-CRAP in the form of someone who pulled a shotgun from their own buttcrack. d. Stickies are underrated (in large quantities). They're impressive, and usually worthy of screaming into your mic. 5. Speaking of medals.... What happened? Where's my sharpshooter medal!? -The lifetime "medal chest" should be view-able in game by yourself and other players -The following medals need to be in / return to the game: *20 streaks were never ingame, but should have been. Weapon Sprees (5/10/15/20*) -Sniper Weapons (sniper spree, sharpshooter, be the bullet, 20*) -Hammer (hammer spree, dreamcrusher, wrecking crew, 20*) -Shotgun (shotgun spree, open season, buck wild, 20*) -Sword (sword spree, slice and dice, cutting crew, 20*) -Headshots (headshot spree, trigger happy, marksman, 20*) -Stickies (Sticky spree, Sticky Fingers, Grenadier, 20*) -Wheelmans (wheelman spree, roadhog, road rage, 20*) -Splatters (splatter spree, vehicular manslaughter, sunday driver, 20*) -Assists (assist spree, sidekick, second gunman, 20*) <---- currently, the "assist spree" exists as "wingman" Other -Sniper weapon headshot medal (WHY would you remove this. GIVE ME ONE REASON. Honestly!) -The following medals just need to be worth more points Headshot (Currently equal to kill. Just...what even...) Snapshot (also currently equal to a regular kill. Again..what on earth was going through the decision-maker's mind here? I am INCAPABLE of understanding this.) -The following medals simply need to go away Distraction (these are pretty much universally given to terrible players who can't land shots, and/or have no map awareness, I'd be willing to bet less than 1/1000 are intentional) Fortification Assist (See also: Camper (noun) - obnoxious, selfish individual who can't aim and thus resorts to 'surprise attacks' on his betters, often ruining the pace of a game.) Vehicle Hill (there is no reason to differentiate this from otherwise just being in the hill) Weapon-specific "kill" medals (they are all worth the same number of points, just use a generic kill medal and free up resources for medals that are actually accolades) And that's it. Comment, like, dislike...whatever. I just think that if these changes were made to the Halo matchmaking environment, it would feel better overall, and therefore make the game more enjoyable.
  17. Hey that moment where I have 343 games played in slayer matchmaking, I found it funny and so I was told to post it to you guys, in search for an awesome medal or something. Just kidding I have 10k of those was actually
  18. 343, what are you doing to assist in server lag or game functions (AS THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE)? my NAT is open, and when it says "Moderate" i simply dont play until ive corrected MY connection for live. You arer all a joke of hosts. I have no such issues on any other halo matchmaking but H4 and it seems over the years you've completely blown off the community asking for you to address these issues on YOUR SERVERS. I seriously just played a game with such bad lag that i attacked multiple people with the sword in a 4v4 game AND NONE OF THEM TOOK DAMAGE OR EVEN DIED; but dont worry, they killed me just fkn fine. WTF? this is not the only instance, yesterday i watched the roster for the match i was in but was unable to spawn in the match YOUR roster said i was in?! no really i enjoy this unreliability. Ive gone thru spurts playiing H4, taking breaks because i was disgusted by the crap you fail to address in game connections during mm. Screen out poor connections, optimize servers, add servers, idfc what you do but this is serious messed up for those who TRY to get in H4 online gameplay and cant sustain a decent game because kills dont register, attacks deal no damage, or (on the rare occasion they do register) i die regardless bc the opponant has had enough time to figure out theyre temporarily immune to ALL weapons/damage and they can unload what they wish and still kill me in a chance they shouldnt have had. Flood? HA! i cant even tell you how many times i cant select my loadout, or when i do, you choose to give me one i specifically didnt select. You reset my points (im honestly SHOCKED you didnt reset my rank too), and everything ive earned up to mastery fo building armor or loadouts, and yet you cannot address connectivity for the live community? What exactly are you doing at 343???? Making new pretty armor and maps (that i cant use as i want because you screw up 90% of the games i attempt to play)? Really, id love to know how you address ANY complaints (if you even do) and what your priority is for fixing online gameplay. Really, give the game back to bungie and go home. Stop trying to improve what youve made worse and refuse to correct out of sheer inconsiderate laziness. I assume im not alone in these complaints, but not that that matters, 343, you'll still fail to correct anything you couldnt do so properly in the first place.
  19. Hello everyone. For about 14 days I havent been able to play matchmaking because of the servers not being online. The message when entering wargames lobby is as follows: The Halo 4 servers are not available. Please try again later. Matchmaking has switched to using the default playlist So, I get to choose from Infinity slayer, big, regicide, CfT, KoTH and slayer pro, but with no people online. When google'ing the fail massage, i get hits, but none of them solves anything :/ I have tried the standard things like restarting everything. And I am connected to xbox live. Sincerely
  20. Am I the only one who's noticed that FF doubles is missing? I haven't been on Reach in about a month, and me and my buddy were about to go play it, and now it's gone. That was the ONE mode we could play without either buttholes and/or complete idiots. Why was Doubles deleted?
  21. Team Snipers Update: The Ark and Opticon This coming Monday, The Ark (by yours truly) and Opticon (by SaItykoalabear) will enter the Team Snipers playlist alongside Pitfall and a new snipers gametype called Snapshot. Check out and download the final builds of both forge maps below. The standard option links to the variant optimized for standard gametypes (Slayer, Extraction, KotH, etc.) and the Team Snipers option links to the variant optimized for Team Snipers (all initial ordinance, weapons, and grenades removed). The Ark Forged by The Fated Fire Player Count: 4-8 Standard variant: http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/games/halo4/filebrowser/details/960c5d00-6880-49ca-8c74-185b34bbcf5d Team Snipers variant: http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/games/halo4/filebrowser/details/79801837-ad7a-4259-8c14-363aa0966627 The Ark is an asymmetrical map designed for Slayer, 1-Site Extraction, and King of the Hill. The primary design goal was to create an open asymmetrical terrain map with several unique landmarks which would lead to the development of unconventional callouts. The diverse selection of sight lines and rotating power positions creates an environment suited for strong team play and strong individual play. In Team Snipers, expect non-stop cross map sniper battles and a constant concern for your safety. This beast has been one of my favorite forge maps since Salty built it several months ago, and it is very awesome that the map is finally headed into matchmaking. The curving pathway from each team spawn leads to the neutrally located lift and the center of most action on the map. In Team Snipers, expect a constant struggle to secure the various lines of sight that cut through the middle structure, and always watch your flank. This post has been promoted to an article

The primary design goal was to create an open asymmetrical terrain map with several unique landmarks which would lead to the development of unconventional callouts. The diverse selection of sight lines and rotating power positions creates an environment suited for strong team play and strong individual play. 23. Massive Multiplayer Idea For this idea i would think this would go well if its for a new gaming console because god help us if this was for the 360 because this would probably create a lag storm. Anyway what I would think for this type of game mode would be are... - 1-3 maps that are as big as Arma maps. (their like 64 square kilometers for the Newest one coming up and for smaller ones at that) - A capacity of 30 players EACH team. - Extremely oversized and armored vehicles like the Mammoth or the Elephant but can be destroyed by tanks or other means of explosives and a sort of dropship like a Pelican or anything new you guys are probably secretly working on. - Better combat, the combat in Halo 4 wasn't bad but wasn't great either it was to easy to be killed it seemed like so maybe thicker spartan armor or the elite armor would increase damage protection and the vehicle plating helps protect against tank shells or gauss cannon rounds. - A new drivable vehicle (to those who haven't played Halo Wars) the Rhino as a Support Tank that could probably wipe out a mammoth or elephant and tanks and Warthogs would be able to be transported Via pelican. - Npc squads like ODST's or Elite Drop Troops to Help when in infantry battles which would be a terrain not operable by vehicles but is for infantry. - (REQUIREMENT) Good network connection so people don't lag and make everyone mad - Only playable a few times a day so the servers don't overload and to reduce the chance of running into a whiney little kid because no one enjoys that period Comment on what you think of this or create you're own list of ideas for this type and post below.
  24. Open world is bunk, thinking about sounds fun, running around it is extremely bunk. No one has time for running around a map looking at stuff and back tracking. It would be awesome if campaign maps were big enough to support the maximum amount of players. Campaign and matchmaking maps being utilized for invasion? Of course single player campaign still being awesome with bots, or going online for matchmaking campaign against people. Securing an objective is securing an objective. Also if there is to be forging in Halo 5(I bet there will be) bots would be awesome along with the moving target recticle that always points at the position of the projectiles impact. Since its the future I think left trigger aiming with Iron sights would still be capable. Weapon cameras are good but I bet firearms would still have redundancy. Also I dont like seeing the helmet in the screen, I have a TV, I want to see every part of the map with the tv, even the edges. Of course if the hud could be moved to the players wrists it would be awesome. I bet humans would have aircraft in the future, aircraft and vehicles with first person view. That with iron sights and a snarling evil oponent would be good. Robots arent scary, organisms are scary. Whatever happened to the carniverous covenant? Would be good if there were seperatists groups that have a taste for human flesh(they would need to look it too). Of course duals, camera capable weapons looking around corners utilizing choosable wrist/screen display. Or changing primary weapon hands for lower area of mass. Firearms sounding like firearms. I think if their were plasma rifles they would burn stuff on contact. I also think bodies dissapearing are bunk, could their phisics change instead of dissaperaing? Or they flatten out or burn leaving a dust pile or something? Also turning Halo 5 into a Devil may cry type game with giant opponents that need to be shot a hundred times and then have some trap done is bunk in my opinion. Of course having teamdeathmatch and slayer maps open, move, and close for a high time setting like invasion with retreats could probably be awesome in my opinion. If there were expanding maps for slayer I think its only fair that videos of characters not be included. Only if they were Skyped or something showing the maps with elevations and the characters giving hints for noobs. Thanks for making Halo 5, please also have it run on Games for Windows Vista/7/8 and slow dual core computers with low graghic settings. I almost forgot, this has nothing to do with Halo 5 in particular, please bring Halo 2 Pc for Vista back online. They still sell the game. If customer counts are low then have an advertising campaing with a link that performs a test for computers capable of running Halo 2 for Vista. Also, adding to my talking about the Halo 4/5 robots, they dont look scary. Their faces might open to show a skull yet I only see toaster/fridge/ if it were lucky and I were drunk enough, oven. They are far too clean and newish looking, not scary at all. Then when you kill them they turn into ashes? Theres no payoff, an explosion is recommended. An explosion with limbs and stuff, maybe leaving a torso squirting stuff. Whatever happened to the Halo with aliens boarding ships and eating people. Mandables would cause for crazy drueling, its too bad they didnt add that with the graghics. Furthermore, I know I said it before, but again; if their were carniverous covenant seperatist groups they would not have matching armor and stuff. Carniverous covenant seperatist groups would look like hell. Also if carniverous covenant seperatist groups were to be added I prefer it not be an open world game. Open world games are a waste of time. I can walk to the gas station and be attacked by carnivores, I dont need to wate time on a battle game going for oine location to another. Give me an objective and enemies trying to stop me, please dont try making me walk around open world or I wont buy Halo 5 either. Previous Halo campaigns were great, open world ius bunk. The only thing I would change about Halo campaign is the capability to go all multiplayer, even with ongoing joinable campaign games without point loss pending time constraints. Please, please, please, dont make Halo 5 open world or large enemyish. The only large enemies that were awesome were scarabs and elephants. In closing carniverous covenant good, large enemies and open world bad. I think Open world would only be good for forging and even then going one place to another is too much time. Being able to build a map with a choosen backdrop and every forgable object would be good? Also if there are going to be gatling guns on warthogs can the bumpers be used to spin them and the triggers used to fire them individualy, left/right, bumpers and triggers? Also with aiming down sights? Same thing with first person driving and the hogs having turn signals? There are ways to make Halo more realistic, in my opinion adding a seeable helmet in the HUD isnt one of them. Also can the zombies not have falices? I think hands would simply suffice, maybe with a assasinationish carniverous first person attack animation that can also be stopped by the properly placed shot of a teamate? With attack animation I would like to see a limb ripped off and drinken from, maybe zombie gettting bigger teeth or a head sachel that drags on the ground/increased capability or something? Also I liked Halo before the vision through walls thing, flashlights and binoculars only? Maybe binoculars with range finder/target marking if so lucky? Selectable firemodes on firearms would also be good? It is the future, fighting for survival from aliens after they destroyed a planet. Halo Harvest?
  25. Hey there everyone, first and foremost I'd just like to say THANK YOU 343industries, for (clearly) spending alot of time, resources and talent on making Halo 4 such a wonderful game. This is the first time I've used these forums but I am a long time Halo fan, I've been playing Halo since Halo: CE came out in 2001, when I was 10years old. I'm a bit of a fanboy but was pretty dissapointed in Halo Reach and I am utterly thrilled to see the direction that 343i and Halo 4 is and should be taking. And I really hope you guys get a lot of awards and praise from old fans and new, you guys deserve it. Because the game is so polished I don't really have any complaints, but here are a few suggestions I'd like to see implemented into Halo 4 and/or Halo 5. (I hope you guys check your forums like Bungie did). *Story length: I found the campaign to be a bit on the short side, I'm not too dissapointed because the story was exellent and very well paced and I know Spartan Ops continues the story somewhat. But I hope you guys make Halo 5 a little longer. *Emblems: There is not enough. *Spike Grenades: If/when Brutes make a return in Halo 5 or 6, please bring Spike Grenades back, they're unique and you can setup traps around corners with them. *Meta Game and Leaderboards for it: It would add alot of replayability if you guys added the ability to turn on the Meta Game in Spartan Ops and Campaign and maybe you could implement a friends leaderboards along with it. *Ranking System: I feel that currently, there is no ranking system, because it is only based on how much EXP you have, this is also not unique, as pretty much every modern shooter has this style. You guys should implement a secondary ranking system like Halo 3's 1 - 50. *Skulls: I was dissapointed to see that all of the Skulls are unlocked by default, it's much more fun if you have to unlock them and find them in the campaign first. *Please add clan support. *Please add theatre for Campaign and Spartan Ops. *Hunters should be twice the size and much more powerful, once you kill the first one and break the spirit bond the other should fly into an overwhelming rage. *Pre-order bonuses/Collector's edition: I don't like when companies have pre-order bonuses because it just means everyone misses out on something. Please don't do pre-order bonuses again, or atleast include all of them in the Collector's Edition. *Legendary Edition: I was dissapointed you guys didn't have one, please make one for Halo 5 and if you do you shouldn't just throw in a statue, do something like a suicidal grunt holding a bomb which is an alarm clock. Cheers.
