  1. Hiya, not a lot of my mates are that into halo so I was thinking leave your gamer tag on the post and add each other so massive games can be played on custom games or online? My gamer tag is MaSturalex117.
  2. So i was online and i saw a guy in my match who this badass armor and later I found out that the only way to get it is to buy the limited edition halo 4 custom xbox and contollers. So I accepted that i could never get that armor. But if anyone reading this has a code for FOTUS armor, I would of course love it for free but i dont see that happeneing, i dont have any other armor codes for trade, but i do have a 6 game double xp code, i know it's not much and if there is something we could work out then please tell me
  3. I was thinking how I should approach this post and how I should get this point across... I considered going with ‘Spartans need more face armour’ or simply ‘Arrgggh!’ but then I realised that no matter what I do or how levelly I look at this it is going to get flamed to hell by a large chunk of the community once I insult their precious Battle Rifle... I’ve just had a game, one of many, in which the entire enemy team took to using Battle Rifles and backing away from every single encounter firing. Now some of you are surely going to say this is not an issue and just how the game is played... or rather, given the mindset of these people I’m expecting a lot of variously illiterate comments along the lines of: ‘LOL AM NOOB YOU?!’ The problem is, besides from being annoying, this tactic doesn’t really seem to really make any sense in this game. Most players who operate like this rarely seem to bother with a sidearm or their abilities... features which in their eyes may as well just be removed. So it has to raise a question as to the balance of the game when one weapon is utilised so heavily that not only other weapons but also key game features simply go unused. The other issue I have with this is that the primary way of beating a team doing this is to do exactly the same thing... which means the game soon becomes very solely focused and all semblance of tactics go out the window. On the face of it Halo 4 seems to offer quite a good degree of customisation which allows individuals to explore and develop their own play style. Armour specialisations, abilities, upgrades and weapon loadouts should create a great deal of variety in the opponents you face. However when one style of play defeats all others with ease it leaves people little option but to do the same. In short individual preferences go flying out the window faster than a grunt targeted by a fuel rod cannon... Now I am not going to suggest the Battle Rifle be nerfed, surely such a thing would be tantamount to heresy. I mean clearly the developers have decided that it should be able to beat automatic weapons at close range and that its ability to complete destroy armoured vehicles from across the map with its small calibre rounds is working as intended... but I feel as if one simple change could massively improve game play and balance issues. Reduce the speed at which you walk backwards. It’s that simple. The Battle Rifle can still be a flak cannon, shotgun and sniper rifle all rolled into one confusing bundle but just reducing the rate at which you can back peddle ever so slightly, I think, will make the game not only more balanced but more enjoyable. It would mean that when you have someone charging you down with the oddball they are actually a threat. It would make automatic weapons rightly more powerful in one on one close range fights. Most importantly it would just make sense. I mean as much as I’d love to see it there’s no 100m backwards sprint in the Olympics... Now perhaps everyone loves Battle-Rifle-back-peddling but when both teams are standing at opposite sides of the maps doing this it quickly resembles a game of duck hunt... The best games I’ve had were when both our team and the enemy used a variety of tactics and equipment. It meant you had to constantly adapt and weren’t sure what to expect next... that, ultimately, seems like the sort of game play Halo should revolve around. I’d dig out the box and quote it directly but if you recall, one of Combat Evolved’s main selling points was that you were the master of every weapon and that all vehicles were tools of destruction just waiting for a driver... it was not advertised as the ultimate ‘shoot each other in the face with a rifle until someone falls over’... game.
  4. I've been playing the game a lot recently and feel like i've seen all of the armor. I am not dissapointed in the armor choices, but i wish there was alot more throwback armor. For example, Mark V is basically a must, and I also think bringing security and Hayabusa back would have been great, as well as the katana. I also would have liked to see some of noble teams armor make it into the game, like Jorge and Carter. is there any you would like to see return?
  5. So, I was wondering, how good or bad you did on your first 3 games. Post score (K/D), map and gametype. Mine are: 22-3 (yeah I was REALLY lucky), Complex, Infinity Slayer. 23-2 (Again, REALLY lucky), Ragnarok, BTB. (I admit I was a little campy and didn't get past the middle of the map with the sniper) 16-5, Adrift, Infinity Slayer. I think on my fourth or fifth game I got a perfection, but I'm not sure. I had something the others didn't, something no one saw, but me. Can you guess? Luck. (lol seriously)
  6. Liking Halo 4 so far. I'm 17 games into multiplayer (Won 12) and just kind of peeved about some changes (surprise) - but really like some things too. I don't want to be a complaining fan boy, but just have some thoughts I'd be interested to hear feedback on. Most specifically regarding the multiplayer. The Battle Rifle in SWAT makes no sense. I mean, yeah, its the battle rifle. Lots of people complained about its lack of inclusion in Reach. But its a burst fire weapon, in a precision game, that you can fire twice mid-jump easily. Most people are using it in SWAT at the moment, but only because its the easiest weapon to use. Which isn't the point of Swat. And yeah, I know Halo 3 was Battle Rifles only, but the maps were smaller, there was no instant respawn and it kinda just felt right. This doesn't. This feels wrong. You play it to feel like a boss. Not spray and pray (and thanks to the ridiculous hit box in this game) usually land a hit) The DMR doesn't have enough rectical recoil. Its a single shot rifle. Which should be the only gun (disregarding handgun) you can use in Swat. It fires super fast - which is fine. But its got barely any recoil, which makes hitting targets a pinch. I have strafed that (stupid) circle in Haven so many times WITHOUT sights and mopped headshots at long range - and its because theres no strategy in firing anymore. Again, if you agree that the core joy of Swat is actually being skilled, then its drastically cheapened. Where have all the multiplayer options gone? This is a triple A title. There should be connection options. The fact that I can't get the choice to only play 'good connection games' or 'local games' as higher priority is baffling. Also, the war games 'spartan' cards look awful. The whole game has this clean, cool interface, but as soon you search a game it turns into this muddled up mess. (I WAS GOING TO START RANTING ABOUT THE ORDNANCE DROPS AND REDUNDANCY OF DISPLAYING WHERE WEAPONS ARE, BUT GAVE UP, IM SURE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY POINTED IT OUT) Things that I would add if I had power and wasn't just some dude with too much time over summer: - CLASSIC Double Team - No ordnance drops, no weapon locations. Make it about team work. - Re-think the 'Infinity Slayer' design. Halo is a loved game. Making it simple for people who want a level playing field from the get go, is ridiculous. You get good at things with experience - not by pointing at things and screaming 'THERE IT IS, THAT'LL DO IT! YEAH!' - Team Snipers. - More big maps. - Re-think some spawn points, especially in complex. If you have multiple higher ground positions, why can you be spawn shot? And, whilst I have many more opinions, I don't want to bore people anymore. I REALLY LIKED THE CAMPAIGN. (Chief is Boss).
  7. Ok so ill break it down by section: Campaign: Ive always loved Halo's campaigns, but in every game the mulitplayer overshadows it. To me, not this time. Halo 4's campaign to me was amazing, I loved every bit of it. I didnt have any problems with it except for the fact is was only 7 hours (but thats average I guess) and a lackluster ending (which I'm sure will be solved with 5 and 6, so that part is kind of irrelevant). The story behind it was fantastic, and emotion was displayed like never before in Halo. I'm not gonna give any spoilers but for those who played it youll know what Im talking about. In the end, I give the campaign a 9.5/10 Multiplayer: Sucks. I might be one of the very few who thinks this but i hate the mulitplayer. I hate the fact that the maps are pretty tiny. I've always been a big team slayer guy, and it says a lot when Ragnarok is the biggest map, considering it was a medium sized map at best in Halo 3. What pisses me off though, is that is previous Halo's, there was like a 1-2 minute window from the start of the game to the point you actually started firing at your enemy, depending on the map you play on. Halo 4 youre put right into the action. And I know a lot of people like that, but its very frustrating to me. I do like the ordinance drops and have faith they can take it further in the next games, but at the same time i still wish they would have certain weapons spawn at specific points. I believe 343 can fix this in either DLC's or worse case, wait until 5 or 6. Theyre going in the right direction, but I personally believe they screwed up on multiplayer. I give it a 4.5/10. Forge: I shouldnt have to say much as I havent found one good forum about forging. Its awful, and thats putting it nicely. Our creativity has been taken away by giving us 3 tiny maps to work with. I feel like they tried too hard to make the maps look good to realize that they didnt really give us much to work with. The good news is, this is probably the easiest problem for them to fix. App some maps the DLC or heck even come out with a new DLC specifically for forging. Me personally, I loved sandbox and forge world, but would also like to see either sandtrap, avalanche, or standoff recreated. Forging in Halo 4 gets a 3/10 I havent go a chance to play custom games or spartan ops yet with be being in school and what not. Ive heard spartan ops is amazing and I believe it. However, i have played "Flood", its good, but i would have much rather preferred they stick to regular infection. In the end I give Halo 4 a 7/10. The campaign saved it and they have a lot of work to do. The good news is, this was just their first game. If 343 is anything like Bungie theyll love this criticism as theyll do anything they can to fix the problems in further games. As for me, Ill probably stick to Halo Reachs multiplayer and Halo 3 custom games for now...
  8. As a Halo fan since the realease of Halo 1 I applaud 343 for its work on Halo 4. 343 has made a balanced, fun, and authentic Halo mutliplayer experience, but it feels too "balanced". And by balanced I mean it has COD-esque skill nerfing features. I will attribute the COD to microsoft's substantial investment in this game and their hope for a return on that investment in a market that features that other first person shooter being released right before the holiday season. There are 3 critical and easy changes to make for multiplayer. 1) Make games turn on kills not points. -Who wants to lose a game of regicide to a guy with less kills than you but who managed to kill the king a few times? This logic makes no sense, why reward the playerwho kills the guy with the giant indicator over his head rather than the player with the most overall kills? In general the point system should not determine the outcome of games, but rather be used into leveling up the meaningless ranks currently in place, much like the *cough* COD system *cough*. The points just make it impossible to determine on the fly what is needed to be done by players to win the game and detracts from the overall competiveness. By the way, what happened to Free-for-all? 2) Ordinace drops are an un-needed feature -Ordinace drops are just a thinly veiled "killstreak reward" system, laughably even ordinance drops are not based on kills but on points. Ordinance drops are just flat out not needed and stand in the way of players using some of the best designed, balanced and thought out weapons in the game. Not to mention making vehicles too dominant in gametypes which feature them. What should be brought back is good ole fashioned weapon spawns on the map, go ahead and put designators and timers on them if that is what it will take to get this feature back into match-making. Weapon spawns on the maps add a whole new level of strategy and teamwork which was erased by ordinance drops. This same concept applies for power ups like speed, power and overshield. So what if players will be able to "camp" weapon spawns, the abuses of the weapon on map system do not overcome its benefits to gameplay. 3) Give players real skill ranks 1-50 -This is probably the most needed feature of multiplayer. The 1-50 rank system, in the actual game, next to your name changes the entire dynamic of the Halo multiplayer experience. When your rank depends of the games you win rather than on the points you get, a remarkable thing happens...teamwork and co-ordination actually awaken from their COD induced slumber and impove gameplay for everyone. Rank XP that goes up when you win and goes down when you lose is such a critical component of the Halo online dynamic it makes me sad to see what the last 2 games have chosen to do with ranks. Once again so what if people will abuse this sytem? The same arguement applies for the American welfare system, just because some people will abuse the system does not mean it should be taken away. Plus grouping players based on ranks is an tried and true way to effectively ensure more balanced and competitive gameplay. As opposed to the prevailing lone wolf "preserve my kill death ratio" mindset that now regins supreme (because as it stands to determine how good someone is, you must look that the kill death ratio of that player rather than a 1-50 skill rank that has weight behind it). In conclusion -Halo has always been and should always be a different animal than COD. COD has perfected the formula of nerfing every player down to relative mediocrity with its features ensuring a very balanced game ideal for players who frankly are not that good at the game itself but can use its balancing features to get kills despite differences in playing skill. Halo on the other hand, originally anyway started players out on an equal playing field letting skill and luck decide the outcomes. There is no place for COD skill nerfing features to be present in a Halo game outside the goal of attempting to cater to a wider base of consumers which is exactly why Reach failed so miserably. The Halo franchise is a living example of "if you build it, they will come". If you give gamers a platform where everyone begins the game at a standardized baseline and let each player set himself apart by their gameplay then that very thing will happen. Not everyone was created equally when it comes to Halo and the franchise should not compensate for that, the weak will die off and move on to easier game will the strong will survive and dominate Halo, while the vast majoirty of people will enjoy a fiercely competive multiplayer experience unlike any other FPS on the market. In conclusion it is the competitve nature of Halo that sets it apart in the market place, players should be able to show their hard earned Halo rank and have that mean something as it did in Halo 2. Ranks and the competition for them were a driving factor behind the quantity and quality of gameplay, a challenging 1-50 ranking system is the ULTIMATE tool for gameplay longevity by presenting the vast majority of people with a never-ending quest for the rank number they want next to their gamertag. The competiveness of the Halo franchise should present players with the unique opportunity in the FPS market to set themselves apart from everyother player online through their own gameplay (wherever that may fall in a 1-50 system), and it should be incumbent on players NOT the game mechanics to adjust for in game balancing. The field of play is here, just change the rules so that players can once again create the Halo multiplayer experience that the franchise has been celebrated for.
  9. I try finding a game, I get to the UNSC emblem rotating around and then right when I'm about to enter the game, it kicks me back out to the main menu. It seems to happen at random times. Sometimes I get in, sometimes I don't. I haven't been able to play Capture the flag at all. This happens when trying to play any game type though. I have an older white xbox 360 w/HDMI. I tried deleting the files off my hard drive and then putting them back on and no luck. I have another xbox which is my brothers, and with the same disc, it seems to work fine for him. Any suggestions?
  10. EDIT: BEFORE YOU READ THE REVIEW (now that it has gotten a bit of attention) I just want to let you know I am not really enjoying multiplayer right now. Every game just seems really stressful. It feels like 95% of the gun-fights I get into if I'm not perfect I lose. Also I think I'm running into organized teams because I'm ALWAYS fighting more than one enemy when I'm deliberately trying not to and I rarely survive when I'm "one-shot." I don't know if this is because 343 has failed to separate social/ranked but for me; the kind of person who plays to "play" and not so much "to win" the game it's been pretty frustrating and I actually haven't played much at all for the past few days/week. In Halo 3 I ran into people who were better than me but it was never so bad that I had to try my best every single gun-fight. I got to SR-41 in like the first week so that might be why? The following review seems really positive but I think the ranking/match-making system is pretty messed up for someone like me who wants to "pug" games (even with friends). I guess it's the same for organized teams because they run into people they just stomp on. I will be reviewing the maps, the guns, armor abilities, perks, instant respawns, gametypes and armor. Look for titles in bold. If you want to get an idea of what kind of Halo player I am check out my stats: Halo 3 Rank/Stats http://www.bungie.ne...ayer=sindronian Halo Reach Rank/Stats http://www.halowaypo...onian/haloreach Halo 4 Rank/Stats http://www.halowaypo...indronian/halo4 Firstly, I loved the campaign except for a few things (like the didact boss fight. Why wouldn't 343 take advantage of their talent and make it amazing? Not enough time? Who knows). The multiplayer is FUN (well at first I thought it was! It's Reach all over again). Theatre doesn't even work for campaign yet (I think?). The fine editing tool from Reach is gone which honestly, nearly ruins forging for me. No, magnets do not entirely replace the tool. That's really unfortunate. It's too time consuming without it. What were they thinking :/ Now for the war games review! GUNS I FEEL SHOULD BE PRAISED OR SHOULD BE CHANGED: Before you read the following reviews about guns I should say I have been getting a CRAPLOAD of lag in Halo 4 and have had very few games without at least a little bit of lag. So my observations about how the weapons behave may be a little inaccurate but I think it's ok. DMR - Great weapon. I personally like the look of it in Reach better but it still looks cool. The bloom is perfect IMO. You only have to pace your shots at very long distances (VERY, long). Now, is it over-powered? Just a little bit. The gun is way more effective just beyond medium range which is the way it should be. At medium range I do believe it is better than the BR not because of the bloom reduction or damage but the rate of fire. I'm not sure about a solution. Tiny decrease in rate of fire may fix it. Then again we don't want the DMR to feel like a semi-automatic sniper rifle either. The BR realistically should be a winner at medium range and it is often not. Decent sound. Change to performance needed. Please note: INCREASING BLOOM WILL NOT CHANGE THE DMR FOR THE BETTER. IT WILL SIMPLY MAKE IT A FRUSTRATING AND ANNOYING WEAPON AGAIN WHICH WILL JUST NERF IT COMPLETLEY. BLOOM IS NOT THE ISSUE. Frag Grenades - They have a small blast radius because there exists a perk to increase it. What makes a lot more sense is to have the grenades at normal blast radius and have no perk to affect radius. IMO. BR - Fantastic. I was never a BR fan in Halo 3. However I always used it over the assault rifle when I found it. I never played Halo 2 online so that probably explains why I don't have an attachment to the weapon. I really do like it in Halo 4 though. More than the DMR simply for the feel. The DMR's bloom allows for headshots on the outer circle of the expanding reticle which just feels like BS to me and almost like you can shoot someone around a corner. The BR performs as it should at medium range and I believe its feel is spot on. No BS. Concerning it's shape it looks great. Overall it is visually a bit strange though, but only compared to other BRs from past Halo games. To be blunt it sounds like crap. At least it doesn't need balanced!. Assault Rifle- PERFECT. It is finally a real weapon along with decent sound. It melts at close range AS IT SHOULD. It barely wins out fights at medium range but stands a chance and it's useless at long range. Great job 343! I only use it if I'm using firepower though Carbine - Looks and sounds great. One less headshot to kill might fix it. Landing all of those shots perfectly is not realistic while with the DMR and BR it is realistic because it's 5 shots and not something like 8. Which is why the Carbine is too weak. Carbine should be an issue for the BR at medium range. Binary Rifle - Sweet addition. Not OP at all (seriously). Low ammo and clip size along with a laser sight only the enemy can see AND a huge reticle balances it. This gun is probably the sweetest thing you could pull out of your ordinance minus the Incineration cannon. Incineration Cannon - Awesome. My favourite weapon in Halo 4. Sometimes I feel I don't get kills with it when I should though. For example I've hit a guy directly and the blast just knocked him back (pretty sure he didn't have overshield). I love the weapon and it acts differently from the rocket launcher and is more desired. It's forerunner, it should be better. Rocket Launcher - Sound is a step down. Why can't I lock on? If that's over-powered give the vehicles more durability. Two things about this gun could be changes but only one thing HAS to be. Either buff the radius of the explosive or make the rocket travel faster. That's all. Sticky Detonator - Sad this is the replacement for the Reach grenade launcher. The first explosive weapon I ever used in a video game that was rewarding to skill and perfectly balanced. Not enough people could use it well, so they took it out. Really unfortunate. My favourite weapon in Reach. The sticky detonator is an easier to use version. The blast radius is huge. I don't really see anything wrong with it. It's a real power weapon. Like a rocket launcher from Reach. Be afraid of it. Needler - I don't think people realise this is a power weapon now. I mean, it was always a power weapon, but a pretty weak one. Now it's something you should be really afraid of. I really don't think there should be more than one that drops at the beginning of a match COUGH - that impact 343 forge world variant which I haven't even played yet but I think there are 3 needlers on it (WTF) Storm Rifle - Reduce the spread. Vehicles - Damage is perfect. Ghost and Banshee cannons aren't useless like in Reach and are a tiny bit more powerful than Halo 3. I think it's great. Durability not so sure about. Since there is a "fuster-cluck" of power weapons on the map thanks to the ordinance addition to the game I think they could be a little more durable. The problem with this is that the one player who doesn't have a power weapon is screwed. Verdict Human weapons - great job, some need changed. Promethean weapons - great job Covenant weapons - great job, plasma is scary now that it travels so fast (does it travel faster now? Idk, turrets hit me more at super long ranges). Spread could (SHOULD) be decreased for some guns. Great job 343 never have we had such a balanced level of weaponry along with such variety. Vehicles - Give us a forerunner vehicle and a falcon you sillies. Vehicles are balanced but could be more durable MAPS AND SPAWNING - Great. Some people feel like there are not enough maps. There will be. I still haven't gotten to play a few (forge world variants from devs). - Less needlers - Favourite map is Solace. Second best is Haven. Ragnorak remake is awesome. - Spawns are great. Only had a couple bad ones. Instant Respawn doesn't help. EDIT: Spawns aren't that great (lol). - Don't integrate community forge world maps into matchmaking, leave it to the professionals. They will never compare to real maps even if the colours could be changed. If we get 3 voting options of garbage forge world maps every time we try and play war games like in Reach the game WILL break and get REALLY boring AND no one will play it. INSTANT RESPAWN When did anyone ever ask for Halo to be a fast-paced game? We asked for sprint, but only to make it more intense. It worked, while increasing the pace to an appropriate degree. If we want to be killed by the guy we just killed two seconds ago we would play "that game that shall not be named." This feature does not belong in halo and is not NEEDED and will not SELL halo any better. ***BTW INSTANT RESPAWN BREAKS KING OF THE HILL ON SMALL MAPS GAMETYPES IN GENERAL - Firstly I want to talk about the social vs ranked playlists. Why are people complaining there are no ranked playlists and the game isn't competitive? I think (may be wrong) every gametype matches you up according to skill and rank (maybe just rank?). So it seems to me what's missing is a social playlist lol. I've already been getting my ass kicked playing regicide because I'm playing against people way better than me most of the time. I don't want to fight people my own level I want to plow noobs lol. Please correct me on how this works! In halo 3 did the social playlist match you up randomly? I thought I remember separate ranks for each social playlist. What made the social playlists social? The ranked playlist matched you up based on your highest skill which was based on wins/losses right? Halo 4 will be ruined for me if I can only play with people my level or above that will just be stressful lol I need to practice on noobs. when did people ask only to be matched up with people their level why would 343 do that? - There weren't enough shipped with the game IMO, despite the reasons for holding some off. - Oddball is a playlist? Lol. - Headhunter is an epic gametype and 343 could have made it better and brought it back, along with Invasion. - VIP dammit. Slayer/Big Team Slayer - Good. More map variety please. The same 3 maps come up a lot. King of the hill - It sucks because of instant respawn. So hard to control the hill. Unless you are T^2 or Kampy himself. CTF - I don't like it because I can't drop the flag. Flagnum? More like, the-good-luck-defending-yourself-against-any-other-weapon-weapon Regicide - Pretty awesome! Regicide gave me my first killtrocity. This is how it works: You're the King with a power weapon - Awww Yeuh You're the King without a power weapon - This sucks Verdict Not bad 343, not bad at all. ARMOR ABILITIES THAT SHOULD BE MENTIONED Active Camo - OH, 343 WHY. Why is this an armor ability??? IT IS SO ANNOYING. WHY DID YOU BRING IT BACK? People literally sit behind a rock crouching with camo, wait for me to pass and beat me down twice, not once in the back because most who use it are idiots (You're not an idiot I'm just mad-bro). Some people use it to snipe. Good, that makes it over-powered. I hate this thing it is second-worse to armor lock. Now it doesn't even jam the radar. While the jamming was annoying at least it told you the damn person was there! Now we have no idea! Thruster Pack - It is sick! Despite it being a tiny bit under-powered it has saved my life a lot and makes me look awesome while using it! This is my favourite and WAY better than evade in every way. Props 343. Give us half a meter more and it's all good. For those wanting the distance of EVADE, shut up. That will make it overpowered. Hardlight Shield - I think it's OK. Not over-used otherwise it would be REALLY annoying. It is not needed and doesn't add much. EDIT: This armor ability totally choked me at a killtrocity (potential naire) Promethean Vision- I think it's good. I don't really use it and it doesn't seem to be overpowered. I can understand why this would be good but I've played Halo so much I just know where people are it feels redundant using it unless I'm looking at people out of my radar range. PERKS THAT I WANT TO MENTION Shielding - Shields regen slowly because there is a perk to increase the rate. No. Make the regens normal and have the perk increase them by a tiny amount. The default regen is so slow...like REEAAALLLLYYY slow. Grenade Perk (forget the name) - Shouldn't exist. Radius is so small I almost feel forced to use this perk. - I think the rest are ok (or are they). ARMOR - Venator armor: Did 343 make camo so OP just so people could get this armor easier? Uhhh... - Wow. There is a lot of armor. - It all looks really awesome except for the Helmets. Some people like ugly helmets. 343 are addressing those people. There are a lot of great helmets too. Overall best looking armor out of any Halo game by far. - I can understand how some pieces may be hard to differentiate Reach was a little better at this but Reach failed in proportion. The sizes didn't make much sense. I guess it's going to depend on opinion for the armor. At least there's tuns of it. - Colors. Good variety. They are not washed out like in Reach but solid. Great. Proportion - Everything is sized beautifully. Unlike Reach's "world of warcraft" shoulder pads. Variety - There is so much and enough of the pieces are cool. Thank you so much 343!!! Emblems - Where are they? ---ranks up--- Oh there they are. Where are the new ones? ---ranks up--- Oh...I can't comment on the emblems they are weird. There are a decent amount of them and there are new ones. Some returned some didn't. Nothing new here. Visors - Wow, dayum, freaking AWESOME! Hard to get and awesome looking! You nailed the spot 343. Stances - Sweet new addition! No harm done! INTERFACE - Step down from Reach. Better than most games. Good enough imo. Bugs - Haven't run into any except for achievement/completion bugs. - Accommodation bug, SUPER annoying! Not tracking correct number of accommodations! - Spartan Ops achievement issues. Specifically Chapter 1 mission 5 survival achievement. - Some generic rank reset bugs - Haven't run into anything game-breaking Final Verdict - Really worried about this social/ranked playlist thing. I don't want to get my ass kicked every match because I always get joined up with people my level or higher. This could potentially ruin the mutliplayer. My highest skill in Halo 3 was 40 but I mostly played social. - A lot of network issues. I haven't had issues with other games but Halo 4 lately has been pretty hard to play with the amount of lag I am experiencing. For some reason just after the midnight release I had no network issues. Other than that I am impressed. I highlighted my serious issues and some other nit-picky things. Thank you. Great job. I think a lot of people posting about this game have missed bringing up the good things about it. Hopefully this accomplishes that. Care to add to my review?
  11. For the past several days I have been playing a wide range of multiplayer. From Infinity Team Slayer to Big Team, CTF to Dominion... every single time I have seen after game stats and medals. Even more so that sweet little xp bar, steadily watching it grow. I am aware of the xp limitations/cap (I have already hit this the previous day), but correct me if I am wrong. You would still see the after game stats, correct? I don't ever remember seeing a little notification saying "Congratulations! You have been capped!" or something along those lines. Find it strange that everything just decided to stop and not bother showing me anything. Was just wondering if anyone else was running into this issue, otherwise I might have to contact 343.
  12. I loved Halo multiplayer; starting with Halo:CE, then Halo 2 on XBL, then Halo 3. Obviously I was incredibly excited for Halo 4 to come out; only to find that my beloved multiplayer had morphed into another Call of Duty clone (As if there weren't enough of those in the COD franchise already). I think you made a mistake to go in this direction, and so does everyone that I have spoken with. (The unanimous agreement has been that we would rather play Halo 3 multiplayer, if only more people were in the matchmaking). Please, Please, Please make all of us old-school halo fans happy by releasing an old-school playlist that closer reflects the style and pace of the multiplayer in previous titles. Force starting weapons to the AR/plasma pistol; weapons / equipment spawn on maps the way they used to; turn off all ordnance. Put these changes into a playlist or two (Oldschool Slayer, big Team Oldschool, Oldschool Skirmish), and I think that they would be instantly popular. As a sidenote, I was disappointed that many of my favorite weapons and vehicles did not make an appearance, and that there were no promethean vehicles added, but overall I enjoyed the campaign, although it was difficult to follow the story sometimes with parts of it told through terminals that I had to exit the game to view; really broke the flow. Was it that hard to include those in the game? Looking forward to the next chapter in Halo 5; DoubleTap
  13. Well I just beat the campaign on legendary solo and I'm pretty sure I was supposed to unlock Master Chief's armor for my personal spartan but I didn't. Can anyone help?
  14. Well, should have put this in general discussion.
  15. I have been a halo enthusiast for a very long time now I played halo ce as a kid. I am a very competitive player first and foremost and I think that is important to consider with my review. I play halo 4 and I like the game but I don't know how much longer I will be playing it hopefully it grows on me. With that said here's my likes/dislikes vs halo 3 Halo 3 was simple and very halo for the lack of a better word. Halo 4 has adopted c.o.d. Policies and has the feel of unreal tournament. The major problems arise in the same manner as the recent election. When you end up trying to please everyone(Obama) u end up pleasing no one. Where's if you make the system or game competitive people get really excited and work hard/play hard(Romney). I hate politics but it made sense for this and I didn't vote for either so don't judge me. Halo 3 you had nothing given to you you had to earn it. Now you are given loadouts with 100 different options and 10 new reasons to camp (ie invis, bigger radar, promethean vision ect). Remember when you couldnt camp right out of the whole because you would get rocked by rockets ifnyou did. Rushing rockets and sniper was half the fun of halo. Now we just give those things to you for free completely unearned. This leads to not knowing what people have and therefore no idea what to prepare against. And sprint makes for a lot of chasing and a lot less fighting. There are also more weapons in halo 4 than it needs I mean 4 different long range rifles with be, Dmr, light rifle, carbine. I mean come on did we need an alien shotgun identical to a normal shotgun ? I just want halo to be competitive again. Don't get me started about ordinance packages that would take me 5 pages to talk about how dumb those are. The ranking system is a total joke and I could go on and on about other things but I would like to know what the community thinks about my review.
  16. Why is everyone so obsessed with Haven and Ragnarok?? I've been playing since Launch and on Big team infinity slayer everyone votes Ragnarok. I was sick of that map in Halo 3 and now its all anyone wants to play in 4.
  17. Single-Flag CTF is the gametype that has kept me playing Halo. I know it's only days since launch, but I really, really want and hope we get a dedicated Single-Flag CTF playlist.
  18. So far the game hasn't disappointed me too much (and i am a huge halo 3 fan, just accepting a little change) but for goodness sake, nothing is more frustrating than saying "one shot on my X" and realizing there isn't an X for anyone on your team to look at. I have no clue what possessed 343 to take that feature out since it has been used since H2 as well as all COD games, but it seems like a major downgrade to mulitplayer in my opinion. Also, a few other opinions that could make this game better can be found in this post: I'm not here to bash the game. I'm just trying to throw out ideas. (I stated the red X issue again in this post, so sorry for the redundancy) http://www.343indust...m-game-options/ check it out and let me know if you guys agree.
  19. Halo 4 for the Xbox 360 was only released just this week and 343 Industries announced Friday a playlist update coming next week. While Halo: Reach enjoyed monthly playlist updates, 343 Industries plans weekly updates for Halo 4. "We will maintain a static set of playlists and feature one or two “rotational” playlists on top of that," community manager Jessica Shea wrote on Halo Waypoint. "We will be monitoring trends and statistics closely so we can react accordingly to your preferences and likes. For instance, if one of our rotational playlists consistently holds a higher population than one of our static playlists, we will consider swapping them out based on player demand. The process will be fluid and based on numbers, and we’re extremely excited about the benefits of our new approach." So what is coming with the first playlist update? SWAT with some changes to both weapon damage and the HUD. Players will be equipped with Battle Rifles, DMRs and Magnums, have no shield or radar tracking, and will not be able to use ordnance drops in this game mode. Here is how 343 Industries tweaked the three weapons for SWAT. DMR – 3 bullets to the chest, 1 bullet to the head Magnum – 3 bullets to the chest, 1 bullet to the head BR – 7 bullets to the chest (this gun shoots three bullets in a burst, so the first bullet of the third burst will kill the player), 1 bullet to the head Here are the maps that will be available in the SWAT playlist. 20. Let me preface this by saying I love the game modes and maps its a lot of fun. But we could use more variety I had friends complain about the narrow range of game modes in comparison to past halo like no swat or griffball in matchmaking but I'm assuming and hoping that's because the game is in its early stages so 343 didn't want such a spread of players just yet so they wanted more dense matchmaking game modes but if there will be more I will be a happy camper and if 343 didn't plan on it I hope they read this and others advice for the game and Better it to let there reputation for halo 4 amd there legacy live on through this game

  22. So I bought the Limited Edition Halo 4, and went online to find out that an email with an unlock code will be sent to the email associated with the Xbox live account to access the specializations. Problem is, when I originally subscribed to XBL, I was using a different email (the one my cable company game me). Is there any way I can change the address this unlock code email goes to? Anybody there at 343 able to help me out with this? I really don't want to miss out on content I shelled out the extra money for, especially if people who even bought the standard edition will at least get something while I get nothing.
  23. Somebody please tell me why this item is in matchmaking. It has such a huge advantage over every other ability. Anyone who doesn't use it is at a permanent disadvantage among those who do. It promotes camping at an incredible rate as well. There's no point in tactics or sneaking up on anyone. Use camouflage, sure. but camo doesnt really last long enough or hide you well enough unless you're standing still but also pro-vision just recharges far faster. Coming around a corner? pro vision to make sure its safe. Oh an enemy is there? Line up the shot and pop out of cover/shoot. It's like Counterstrike wall hacks all over again. =/ Its a pretty cool idea for PVE gametypes like campaign and spartan ops but to be in multiplayer just gives everyone a huge crutch to lean on imo.
  24. Does anyone know what music was playing during the Disc 2 install? I liked it, so I thought I'd check around. I'm pretty sure it's not from the original OST or the remix. Thanks! WAKE UP JOHN
  25. Why on earth is there no Ranking system am I the only one who sees the competitive edge in this which diffrenciates form every FPS game, it is so annoying HALO 3 was so bloody good and competititve. The gampelay of 4 i sgreat and the BR is back but surely 343 has someone in its dev team who plays the game. WHY HAVE THEY NOT ADDED THIS - Truley Gutted
