  1. There is a video on youtube called Halo | Ultimate Theme Mashup and I really think that the guy who made that video did something fantastic. He combines the best music from all games into one soundtrack. Now in my opinion, Halo 4 and Halo 5 music was mediocre and thats because the music for halo games has been set to such a high standard so it's really hard to recreate what Marty O' Donnell did. Now I say instead of trying to do new music just use old music from old games along with new music. Halo 4 didn't play the main halo theme once I believe and that's insane. Once again I mention this video this guy did because it is such a great mashup of all the great halo music.
  2. Sure this is down to opinion, but which Halo Soundtrack do you believe is the best? I only recently began paying more attention to the music in each different game, and there's some nostalgia behind them all. Some of them are powerful, well-composed pieces that really define Halo, and war all together. Please vote for your favourite album in the poll. Also feel free to share your thoughts on each track and any favourites you have. Thank you. Edit: I am referring to the full albums, not an individual track.
  3. Heyy, welcome back to the Weekly Site Poll! Poll 57 - 'Favorite Halo Armor' - is here if you'd like to read the responses, or post a late reply. This week we're gonna bust a move, and get jiggy with it down on the dance-floor... What are your favorite music tracks in Halo? The next Weekly Site Poll will be posted whenever, maybe. Feel free to suggest the topic for the NEXT Weekly Site Poll in your response! SD, out!
  4. Halo 3: ODST Original Soundtrack released on the 22nd of September in 2009. Launching together with the game, ODST’s soundtrack as well as the game was a completely different approach compared to Halo. With a new story and a new protagonist, Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori went for a more human sound. No cyborgs, and no mysterious choir. The Saxophone and the Rain you hear throughout the game are part of the “Noir” feeling O’Donnell was pushing for. With the Rookie alone in the rain trying to find his teammates in a deserted city this approach certainly worked. Halo Sheet Music: Scores of Halo – Halo 3: ODST Original Soundtrack Sheet Music
  5. Yo new to this forum and i have absolutely no idea where else to ask this type of question. (THIS IS NOT SELF PROMOTION) im a music producer from australia, and im releasing a drum and bass track through a music label. In this track ive used an audio sample from halo 4, which is the didacts speech upon his first interaction with the Chief. The track will be released for commercial use (i will be making profit from it) so obviously i need clearance/approval to use the audio from the original content creator (343i) So my question is does anyone know how i can get in contact with someone from 343i to shed some light on this, there is a link below to the track to hear the samples i have used. Thanks in advance https://soundcloud.com/blayze_official/blayze-forerunner-1/s-tZsbk
  6. Hey guys! Here's something I've been on the edge of releasing for a while now, and I reckon now is as good a time as ever. Being the video game enthusiast that I am, I've always loved the Halo series. And the music nerd in me has always loved Marin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori's soundtracks from the original Halo series. Now that I am doing more film scoring, I only seemed natural for me to write my own opening music for the New Halo 5. Something to push myself, and something that I enjoy all in one. I'm also up for letting everyone use this in their Machinimas, as long as I'm properly credited. If you want the raw music file for this use, contact me directly, either through email or youtube. i'll send a file without the opening cinematic sound effects! Awesome! Here's the jump: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OE4d-mEERw Awesome! Thanks guys! Enjoy. -Wil
  7. Bungie has come out and stated that despite controversy surrounding Marty O'Donnell's departure from the company, his music will remain in Destiny. We received quite the depressing surprise on April 14th when we had the news broken to us that our beloved composer Martin O'Donnell had been terminated by Bungie. In an interview with people at Eurogamer.net, Pete Parsons said that Marty's magnificent work on the project would remain in the game, and that fans shouldn't worry about the game's soundtrack or the game itself's features. He had said that the game was, "close to shipping" and that he believes "the Bungie fanbase is going to look forward to hearing Marty's music, Mike Salvatori's music, C. Paul's music and Paul McCartney's music in the game," acknowledging that while polish still needs to be done, most of the game is complete and in it's finished state, just needing a shiny coat of paint to top it off. View attachment: 2508271-destiny1.jpg While Marty's departure is melancholy news, most did fear it would impact the majority of their experience in the game. Now we know that isn't that case, but are you still as excited to play Destiny? Let me know below, thanks for reading!
  8. I love music, it helps me relax, and I just love it when a Taylor Swift song comes on. I own 3 of her albums, RED being my favorite. I like almost all kinds of music besides Rap, and R&B. Music makes the world go round! So if your feeling down or just want to relax and enjoy some great songs I would recommend, 1. Country - Is a great musical genre that has endless possibilitys of songs about people's life's. 2. Melodic - Yes it's a real genre, Melodic music consist of just instruments, no vocals, just calming peaceful type music (Usually with violins, or pianos) . 3. Pop - Pop music is the type where you just want to get up and dance to, with it's fast tempo, and catchy songs what's not to love!? ~Music is Love, Music is Life. ♫♪♫
  9. Hey everyone! I recently put together a music video telling the chronological story of Master Chief Petty Officer John 117, using the song "Warriors" by imagine dragons. Most of the footage used is from the updated cutscenes from the Master Chief collection. Enjoy!
  10. My favourite Christmas song would be 'Pipes Of Peace' By Paul McCartney. It's based on WW1 during Christmas day where both sides, German and British get up and go to no-mans land and sing stille nacht(silent night) and play football together and exchange gifts, etc. McCartney takes a historical approach to Christmas with a meaningful message that also is very wonderful and imaginative but also powerful. During the music video, McCartney plays as the German and British soldier who meet together and accidently exchange photos of their families during a sudden disruption to their truce. So what's your favourite Christmas song? Post in the comments below. Go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7ErrZ-ipoE

  14. Hey Everyone, I just finished a complete Sound Redesign of the new Halo Trailer. As I really liked the trailer from E3, I did a Version of it where I recorded and recreated all Sounds by myself, as well as composed the complete Music Score. I put a lot of hard work into it and I would be glad if you give it a watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qm1hYKcHajU Enjoy listening!

  18. Hello everyone! I'm new here and would love to share my own music that I've created my own music for the Halo Universe. I would love to hear opinions from Halo Fans! (I'm a big fan too). I'm trying to get into working on games like Halo etc... Heres a scene from Halo 4 I've redone music to. <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg5ZE8dSA4Y?hl=en_US&version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg5ZE8dSA4Y?hl=en_US&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> Also here's two peices of music from my Soundcloud page for Halo. <iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F64032090"></iframe> <iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F82535851"></iframe> I'd be very grateful to hear if you think my music stands up to the Halo Franchise.
  19. Hey guys, So i've always been a pretty die hard fan when it comes to the soundtracks for Halo games but recently with the release of Halo 4 Soundtrack vol. 2 I've found myself with a little bit of an issue.. My issue revolves around a specific track that is found playing in the background of the 4th terminal in the campaign (Flood). This particular track really moved me. It was deep, well balanced and compelling. It always managed to send a cold chill down my spine. Additionally this particular track sounded VERY similar to the track "Legacy" in Vol. 1 of the Halo 4 soundtrack. In fact i could almost say that they are exactly the same... but... it seems as though a rather large chunk of the song was cut out when it made its way onto the soundtrack. Specifically the part of the song near the end of the terminal video. As evidence I submit this: first listen too the terminal video focus on the background music then listen to the actual track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5NDbTjwpVk I literally listened to the two videos side by side and i couldn't tell which video I was hearing, with the exception of the voices of corse. Then about 60 seconds in they split. Can anybody tell me what the deal is? Maybe where i might find the version used in the terminal?

  22. I have a new idea 343 Industries in Halo 5 it would be sweet if we the community can have more options in the multiplayer of halo 5 such as weapons armor vehicles species of the player customizable emblems like in COD black ops 2 as well as building game types from more options and have the forge more advanced and much more down below. weapons ideas: I love that you guys allowed us to choose different skins for our weapons but to be honest it was fun but it would be a lot more exciting if we can fully customize our weapons and use them in multilayer and set them into classes but to keep the halo feel of multiplayer and not the COD feel we you guys build a new system i have an idea and that is allowing us to go into a weapons builder menu and build our weapons from scratch or allow us to have the ability to combined two or more weapons together for example the sticky detonator combined with the assault rifle or the for covenant we can place an energy sword under a storm rifle to act like a bayonet and it would be so much fun if we can choose custom colors for our weapons and allow us to place our emblems on our weapons. Vehicle ideas: I have an idea for vehicles called vehicle smithing take a wort hog for example and you decide to get rid of the turret and convert into a troop transport and allow us to customize it even further like coloring it and choose from different armor plating not just for wart hogs for every vehicle. where would all this fit on in halo 5 ? a new custom firefight that is more objective based and the weapons and vehicles you customized you can call it in as ordnance not only that in fire fight we want to be able to build buildings and fortify our positions and hold them off for as long as we can. Forge ideas: forge is great but it can be better i have many ideas to share one is the option to change the weather and time of day also to allow us to spawn AI like in far cry 3 i really liked that and the AI to have options like if they are friend or foe you can choose and to color them also we really want a new forge world perhaps a bigger one than in halo reach a forge world that is an open world like we can go under water go in space also we want more vehicle options we want to be able to spawn in huge things like frigates and cruisers so we can have huge space battles and let us completely and fully operate them and we really want to be able to have the vehicles from halo wars in halo 5 and we really really would like to have the scarab to drive also we want to have more environmental options like spawning fore trees and stuff like that and please add in more air vehicles. Armor ideas: we would love to have fully customizable armor and be able to do a lot more with it and we want our choice of armor to affect gameplay like if you choose heavy armor you have more health but less speed and jump and we want new armor abilities i have an idea for one and that is a scuba gear type of ability to go under water also i really loved the armor effects from halo reach please bing them back also we want more way more armor options like different types and also it would be cool if we could build our own armor from scratch from multiple options in the game. Species ideas: when i say Species i mean like in halo reach we had the option to be spartans or elites we would love for that to come back and more options like to be a brute. gameplay ideas: we would love the idea to have the option to go into first person view in a vehicle and third person option in vehicle or on foot plus we would love more assassination types and specific ones for each species you choose to be also for kill streaks we should have more options for example you are on a seven kill streak you can call in a squad of marines to assist you and many other kill streak rewards. Specialization ideas: please add more and have more perks with them. campaign ideas: please bring back the brutes and the elites and it would be cool if we could go into the Elites and the Brutes home worlds and the graphics are great and they can be better like the cinematic movies in the halo 4 campaign. music ideas: Neal Davidge did a great job but the music it not that great for the all the action like I'm fighting the covenant and i feel i'm in an opera not a war fighting aliens breaking benjamin lights out for the halo reach trailer was awesome you guys should add more rock music for all the fighting moments and all the other music for cinematic moments and for when your not in combat.
  23. HEY GUYS! Is anyone out there a rapper? Well, I need someone to make a rap out of some lyrics I have to be a theme song. And, I need it recorded so I can listen. And afterwards, if we've got any DJ's, I need some SFX editing. Please reply guys! The lyrics: "They get on with life as a Republic, They're a Beast kinda type. They like Killing Aliens on Sundays, They like Gaming in the week. They like to contemplate Halo 4. But when they start to daydream, Their mind turns straight to Black Ops 2. Sometimes I look at them and I look into their eyes, I notice the way they think about Black Ops 2 with a smile, Curved lips they just can't disguise. But they think it's Halo 4 making their life worthwhile. Why is it so hard for them to decide which they love more? Halo 4 or... Black Ops 2? They like to use words like 'Die,' They like to use words like 'Spartan.' They like to use words about Halo 4. But when they stop their talking, Their mind turns straight to Black Ops 2. They like to hang out with Master Chief, They like to kick back with Mason, But when left alone, Their mind turns straight to Black Ops 2. They're not too fond of Convenant, They really hate Prometheans , But they just think back to Black Ops 2, And they're happy once again."
