The One Expected Legend - New Legendary Member

honor, distinction, leadership, devotion, shinning light, looked up to, friend, nicest member, trustworthy, highest standards, loyal, believer......

 

 

These are some of the words....some of the ideals that come to mind when we think of Total Mayh3m. John, as I have known him for so very long, has been one of those few people I have come to know while being part of this forum that have become a part of my personal life. He as a young member had the qualities that were easy to see and that you wanted in a friend and a member of this forum. It is hard for me to truly highlight all of what Mayh3m has given to this forum because some of what he gave was his strength in fellowship which impacts all of us in sometimes unseen ways. This was reflected by a passage from the Bible he used in his signature for so long.

 

The simple truth of this passage is this....."You need good friends, and you need to be a good friend. Iron can sharpen iron, and a good friend can sharpen a friend. The iron of a file can make a blade sharp, and a good friend can make his friend better.". Mayh3m has been this friend for me and many others.

 

One of John's best posts came at a time when we needed to hear a voice such as his. This following is an excerpt for his OP titled "-A Message to the Community-"

 

 "Selfless, honest, friendly, and willing. Be that kind of member. The kind of member that is willing to take the time to explain something to a new member instead of pointing them in a different direction. We are ALL guilty of it, even me, but I want to see a change of character for the BETTER in this community... and it all starts with YOU."

He has been a member our our community since October 2011. He has been a friend to so many members, both past and present. He was always willing to help out with even the smallest of chores until he finally became our Face Book manager and served there as he did as a member, with distinction. He later was offered a chance to moderate our community and has done so with, what Jester referred to as, 'distinction'. That is probably the best way to sum up Total Mayh3m's membership and service to our community.  He will continue on here as a member, but has decided to step down from his moderating position due to his need to give his fullest attention to his personal life and the opportunities it is providing for him.

 

John, as in the very story about an 'unexpected journey' that your signature implies, you have been part of that 'unexpected party' that has helped build and shape this forum. You will be one of those who, if we all meet someday, can look across the room and offer that knowing smile and nod of the head because we were all part of that unexpected journey that brought us all together and created such a unique forum.

 

 

So.....out of respect and in our most robust manner, let us all give Total Mayh3m our deepest thanks and cheer for all he has given us in his years of membership and service and welcome him, as friends do, to Legendary membership status!

Total has always deserved this honor. When I joined, he was a great and welcoming member in the news group, and he was all over the forums. I didn't see all that much news from him, but he was a great member that was pretty much always making a party. He was a great guy to have around, and sometimes the only guy to have around.

I haven't known you very long, but as I read this post almost I immediately thought "I wonder if AD's talking about Mayh3m?" He is. Well, Mayh3m, I always considered you one of the most constant Mods here, no kidding. Always active, always friendly, I've always admired your work. It saddens me deep seeing you no more in this, another pillar is leaving. I'm not very active right now in this forum, I never participate a playdate, but I can remember some of the past days. You'll always have my respect, you were probably the kindest Community Mod here. When Victory tried to do that MoM thing (which is still running by the way), out of all Europeans mods I chose you.

A member that ALWAYS went above and beyond what was expected, helpful to all members both new and old, and someone who could sit back and look at a situation from a different perspective to be sure it was understood and handled properly.

Total ly worth it.  You have made this site great and you have shown people what great compassion is. There have been just a few brief times that we have had the chance to talk or exchange some kind of wisdom for a paper you were writing. lol. But nonetheless those talks were always good and you always cared about the things I would say. And I notice you do that with all the members. I wanted to give this topic some time before I replied to it. 

I am not leaving the forum, just taking some time away from it each day to focus on other things in life. I believe everyone has a time in their life where they have a difficult decision to make and even though it may hurt it will help you in the long run. As of right now, that is me. I am having to make that decision right now in my life. Will I return as a moderator in the future? Only time will tell. I resigned from my position on a good note and I would not have it any other way. I do cherish every moment I have had here on the forum and I look forward to many more, whether staff or not staff. 

 

I want you all to know something... you do not have to be on the staff team to enjoy this forum. In fact I believe people have the capability to do amazing things and enjoy the forum more than the staff can. How? It is that moment when you decide for yourself that you want to be and do better, and that even when you do better you try to keep doing better, making a difference, making an impact. That is how.

Even getting involved with not only the posting here in the forum, but the activities the forum offers offsite.

 

 

There is a something in show-business that I believe relates to any forum on the internet.

To stay popular, a celebrity needs publicity. Bad publicity is the kind that will keep you in the news, but good publicity is what you really need.

The more celebrities get in fights, get into drugs, get caught doing something terrible or saying something terrible, the more publicity they get.

To them and their agents, bad publicity is better than no publicity.

 

Do not take on that role on the forums. Don't try to get popular for the bad qualities. But instead, make the choice to be that good person, good publicity should be the only publicity you look for.

 

You should want to be liked for your passion, your integrity, your honesty, and your leadership. (those are only some qualities.) 

Be willing to be kind, helpful, and respectful on the forum.

These are the kind of members I admire and respect.
