  1. I believe they should fix these following issues on Halo: MCC. Get rid of "Halo 3" Game-mode, replace with "Halo 3 & 4 Grifball" The Sport that started it all. Get rid of "Halo 2 Anniversary Rumble" and replace with "Team Snipers" Add Halo 4 to Team Slayer Fix "Connecting Server" issue when players found and not able to connect to host. Find reliable host to connect to (Like above issue) before launching client. Nerf the Battle Rifle for gods sake (Halo 2 Anniversary) Fix the damage on the Halo 3 Battle Rifle (Up it) Add more preferences to Halo 3 & 4. I didn't just buy the game so I could play Halo 2. Branch out game types, instead of "Halo 3" (The most awkward reason to add that in... we'll never know) And make it so you can chose "Halo: CE / Halo 2 / Halo 3 / Halo 4" games with a variety of game types for said game. Make dedicated servers in the East & West of North America... please (If you don't already) I think that should please me. What about you? Discuss. If this happens, i'll dance like Duane.
  2. 1.Infection playlist. I know I am not the only one that likes to play a simple game of infection every now and then. Halo 4 had infection playlists so why not MCC. It would be a nice add on. 2.A Halo:CE playlist for multi-player. If you're anything like me you like the old stuff and all the old original Halo:CE maps are amazing! And I would love to see a playlist with only the Halo:CE maps in the roster. 3.Ability to promote other players to leader of group. This is a big one. All other halos have had this ability, but it seems to be missing here which sucks, because I like to give everyone a chance to host and be in control. 4.Ability to search for community maps and game types. I love custom games, and the halo community is the best when it comes to making them, but you can't get those maps or play them unless you know the person who made it or the person who has it on their console. Give us the ability to search for different game types and games for custom matches. THIS IS IMPORTANT. 5.Make forge in halo 3 just like forge in halo 4! This is another biggie. The forge in halo 4 is a lot easier to work with than the 2007 halo 3 forge. It is gonna turn people off from remaking amazing maps that were made in 2007-2009 in the MCC, which would suck because I remember spending hours just playing those said maps. 6. Add a playlist for action sack. These are community made games and game modes that are put for the pubic to enjoy and swapped every so often. This was in halo 3 and 4 so it would be a nice addition in MCC! 7.Add an on screen icon when a player is talking so we know who is talking at a given time. This is something that needs to happen! Like put a icon next to the players name when they talk! Please!!!! I know I am most likely missing some additions so if you have any ideas on how to make the game better then feel free to comment and I will add it to this list! Thanks!
  3. So guys...we meet again. In case you still haven't had time to read through the first and beginning entry of how to become a better halo player, please look at it here, you could learn something new, and it's always good to learn something new everyday! http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/34004-how-to-become-a-better-halo-player-biggles-is-back-1-halo-4/ Anyway, I will try to put in as much/more detail into this one as i did into the others, as i know how much you guys LOVE detail, so, lets get on with this golden post! (Literally, it's covered in Gold, take the gold!) 1. Different Types of Power Weapons and how they can be effective. As said in my last entry, the power weapons are very effective in a game and can easily change one game from a certain victory, to an humiliating defeat. Not only that, they are actually quite fun to use too, so, lets get started, I AM ONLY GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE 3 MOST COMMON POWER WEAPONS SEEN, SO, NOT THE INCINERATION CANNON OR FUEL ROD, ONES THAT ARE COMMONLY SEEN ON MOST MAPS. a) Sniper Rifle/Beam Rifle Probably the most well known/commonly used power weapon in any game, the Sniper Rifle obviously is useful for long distance battles and can be used for a variety of reasons. It can provide, with the right position, an overview of the entire map and can be so useful for helping your teammates out, by giving them the right type of communication and the right kind of call outs, you can put your teammates one step ahead of the opponents and you can see them before they see you, and then will be able to get easy kills because you know where they are, and they will have no idea while you're giving them the back-smack! Aside from this, not only does the sniper give a great overview of the map and allows your team to get in place to control the map, it obviously has its main use, to get kills. When you pick up the sniper, I always tend to stay a bit further back from my team and make sure that I can pick off my team (i don't stay at the VERY back, otherwise i feel like i'm of no use, you need to have that impact and the idea that the opponents should watch out for you, and if you stay at the back you can't see much of the map) but i always tend to stay on the opposite side of the opponents and also behind my teammates, so they act as a kind of barrier. However, you need to be wary of teammates coming behind you too, so make sure you always move around, so your position doesn't become too well known, otherwise, you've given the sniper to the other team. Which is the last thing you want to do, because if you do, they can pick you off one by one and make the game and your game plan a waste of time for you. Not only does the sniper work for you and your teammates, but it can also work in general play-terms. When not actively helping your teammates, you can also watch the power weapons and make sure no one else takes them. If you only have the Sniper Rifle and they have the Rocket Launcher/Railgun, they will have the advantage, power weapon control is all about having the strongest and the most power weapons so you can control the map easily. If you watch the power weapons, you can make sure no one else has the power weapons and make sure your teammates find it easier to control the power weapons and can actually use it as a way to tempt them to take the power weapons, but all that will happen is that they end up with a bullet in their head. The last thing that a sniper can be used for is to watch the person who has the objective, whether it be the flag or hill, you can kill the enemies who go near him so you can continue your dominance, because you are protecting your teammates. In summary, Snipers are good for: Long Range assaults Watching other power weapons Protecting the Objective Influencing the game Keeping yourself alive acting like a ninja type person. Weak: Close Range Closed Positions Rocket Launcher/Promethean Cannon In terms of raw power, the rocket launcher has to be in the top 3 of the most powerful weapons. (Behind the Promethean Cannon and the Binary Rifle) The reason it can be seen to be so powerful is because it has a fairly large AoE (Area of Effect) which can kill multiple enemies if they are caught in the blast radius. Unlike the Sniper Rifle, the Rocket launcher is not something which you can sit at the back with and just camp and hope for the best. The Rocket Launcher is seen to be a more of an "assault" kind of weapon and something which you just need to run straight in there with and pick up as many kills as you can. Its not really a defensive weapon (because of its radius) or a weapon which you can really sit around with, however, it is a weapon of such large influence. Because of the kind of weapon it is, it can turn a game on its head so quickly and can give you the advantage, you can get at least 4 - 5 kills with it, which is quite a lot in a slayer game, and in objective, if used right, it can guarantee your team a flag capture / 30 - 40 points in the hill, the possibilities with the weapon are ridiculous and its actually quite devastating. However, it is weak against people in the air/uphill as they can jump over the rockets/glide over the rockets and can kill you quickly, also, the rockets have very limited capacity, so you have to make every shot count or you've essentially wasted the best power weapon in the game. They can be used for map control as people will fear going around the corner in case you are around there for rockets, therefore it can allow your teammates to go and take map control and then shut the other team down and then be even more in control of the game, and this is because you picked up rockets. If you have the Rockets AND the Sniper in your team's hands, then it can win you a game easily if used correctly. Always Jump with the Rocket Launcher too! Blowing yourself up for a kill is always the LAST choice and is something that should be avoided, if you jump, not only does it give you the height advantage over the player, it minimizes the damage you will take and then you will not die, instead of running straight in and blowing yourself up, which could also potentially give the rockets to the other team (Thanks to P34nut for reminding me to put this in) In summary, rockets are good for: Short - Mid Range Assaults Protecting the objective / Destroying the opponent's objective MASSIVE influence in the game Getting 5-6 kills (Slayer) Map Control Weak: Against Snipers Against JetPacks/Uphill Limited Capacity c) Railgun My Opinion of the Railgun is very short and very bias. I don't like the Railgun at all, and to me it is the weakest power weapon of the lot and something which shouldn't be in Halo 5. However i'm not going to have a rant and instead i'm going to explain what the weapon will offer to you. So, The Railgun can be used at anytime and pretty much for any position, it can be used for close range, mid range and long range and because it is 1 hit kill, it is quite a useful power weapon to have as it can stop people from moving and it happens so instantly once it has charged up that you never get time to move, like you may do with a Sniper Rifle. The Railgun in the right hands is a good weapon and it is definitely something that can change the game. I think Unease P34nut sums this up really well: The railgun is quite the effective weapon IF you know how to use it correctly. Although it might work sometime long range shots are a no go unless your opponent is standing still or moving just slightly. When you ignore my previous warning please look at this tip instead. Right after charging your Railgun use you binoculars as a quick zoom in before shooting. You'll be much more accurate this way. Please keep in mind that the Railgun slug takes some time to get to the target so calculate that in. Also Using the Binoculars before you pull the trigger causes you to unzoom. Now the way I like to use it is in close quarters and sometimes mid-range if I'm sure to hit the target. Most people won't even see it coming because the Rail Gun charges really quickly and even quicker when you time your trigger release as it does not have to be fully charged. Target users of other power weapons and take 'em out before they can even think about pulling their trigger. 2. Mentality Whether we like to admit it or not, our Mentality affects us a lot. Whether it be Halo, Sport, Exams, Work, Essays etc, it's really important that we have the best mentality possible for anything. Going into halo with the attitude that is negative and feeling that you're never going to improve and you're just going to lose all the time is the worst kind of attitude you have. I bet you don't have that kind of attitude to work or anything like that, so why have it to Halo? you are 1000x more useful to yourself and your team if you are in the right mood. So, what is the right mood? The right mood is when you are upbeat and positive, if you come in with a positive attitude, then you will do better, your shot will be better and you will actually want to play, don't feel the anxiety of going into lobby and going against other people. Halo isn't just about winning, its like any multiplayer game, its a learning experience and the more you play the more you learn and the more different things you'll do, and you will definitely improve. Halo, as said previously, isn't about winning from the get go, its about how you cope with defeat at the beginning and learn more and get tips to become a better player. I know people, including myself who get down in the dumps and feel like Halo is just a load of crap, and that you're not good enough, and even then it still happens now. But as long as you get through that and look on the more positive sides of the fact that you are a good, learning player, then everything will be fine. Because you're learning, just like everyone else, not just in Halo but in life. We are all learning, and this is how halo is meant to be seen to be. You need to want to learn, i can give as many tips and tricks as anyone else, but if you aren't willing to try them and out and try and learn from then, and try to adapt them to your own gamestyle, there's no point of watching. The whole point of my series is a kind of guideline, so you can get the basic outline of what you're supposed to do and how everything works, but i can't tell you how to do every single thing and there are some things in Halo you need to pick up yourself. You need to be open to constructive criticism and take it as a way of learning and not as a personal insult, if i had done that, i'd be a much better player than i am now. In short, don't let your ego get in the way of you getting better, and that applies to anything, not just Halo. But most of all, you need to have fun, if you are not having fun, don't play. Gmaes are made to be enjoyed, no matter how competitive they are. If you don't enjoy halo and it frustrates you, just don't play, its as simple as that, having fun is the whole reason to play and to get that thrill out of winning and even losing, and enjoying talking to your friends, this is what the community is about, if you don't enjoy playing from the start, play another game, as Halo may not be the game for you. If you don't enjoy playing but are a seasoned veteran, take a break. A break can allow you to think about your gamestyle, evaluate it, and as a result improve, it also gives you the break you need from playing too much and allows you to take a rest from the game, and actually improves your game and makes you play better (as you now think about how you play and don't make such silly mistakes as you would if yo were frustrated.) If you hate on the game, the game will hate on you. So in short, while Halo may be a competitive game to you, it should be something you want to get better at and have fun at, other wise you will not get the full experience you should get out of it, and this applies to life. I know I have gone off topic in parts, but i feel making the comparison between Halo and Life is important. 3) What to do when you find your ideal team and how to organize yourselves So, after you've found your DREAM team, they're perfect, they're solid halo players, they're really nice, they know how to improve and are improving all the time, and are giving you tips and tricks on the way, so, what is there to do now if you want to become a better team? I've learnt overtime setting people to do certain positions and certain roles is the WRONG thing to do. People can adapt to different situations and have different games and may be doing the role that the other player will do. While you may do one type of thing specifically, IE: Capture the flag more and be more of an objective player, doesn't mean you are the sole objective player and no one else can take the objective, if you have the chance of making the impact to your team, despite it not being seen as your main role, take it! Your team is more important and to win easily you may need to make sacrifices to your own gamestyle and maybe go out of position to make sure you keep map control and keep the advantage over the team, so then you find it easier to capture the flag and actually be more SUCCESSFUL in game. Your role doesn't matter at all, and don't let anyone tell you that, you need to do what's best for your team, and if that is maybe going into a slayer role when you are objective/support, you need to do it. Another thing is to make sure your team all get along and have common interests outside of Halo, if you have no other interests aside halo, its likely the team chemistry will be lacking and you will struggle to find anything to talk about outside of Halo, which is not very good. You can't solely talk about Halo as that will stress you all out and it will get to be a long and boring conversation very quick, and you will not want to be a team anymore because you will all think you're boring, something which cannot happen. Team Chemistry is basically how well you get along IN AND OUT of the game, and if you don't get along OUT of the game, there is no point of even being a team, since it probably won't last very long. Maybe you all like sports? Just talk about that outside of the game, just find a common topic you can all talk about and can have a laugh about so you are all relaxed and ready for the next game, you will be all tense and will eventually get angry at each other if something goes wrong, you need to be relaxed and not stressed at all. You also need to make sure you are each pulling your weight. If one of you is slacking and not wanting to play and is basically bringing down the whole team, first, talk to him about it. Tell him you all want to improve and you feel he needs to play more/have a better attitude, or you will consider looking for another teammate. If he still is slacking, talk to him and tell him you're looking for someone else, but say this as an empty threat, if he has an excuse not to play or maybe he has family problems, THAT IS PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE, DON'T BE A COMPLETE IDIOT AND MAKE HALO COME BEFORE FAMILY, NOTHING COMES BEFORE FAMILY OR OTHER SUCH IMPORTANT ISSUES. However, if the person is still slacking and has no real reason for it other than a cba attitude, get rid of him. You've given him enough times to try and make an effort and build team chemistry, but clearly he doesn't want to, so, why keep a teammate who doesn't want to play and is just letting the team down? Just get rid of him and look for someone who wants to play. Always try to keep the original team though, you made that team because you thought you could get along, and just because results aren't going your way doesn't mean that you should get rid of him, everyone has bad games, and everyone doesn't play 100% perfect, so, let people have bad games, everyone has them and maybe we are weak in a certain department. The last thing you wan to do is break tehir confidence and shout at them for not playing well, again, just give constructive criticism and let them learn from their mistakes, its the only way of doing it properly without hurting their feelings and making sure they still want to team with you without thinking you're a complete moron. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This was pretty poor from me, sorry guys, I will edit it heavily most likely and make it a lot better than it is currently, but i am still looking for advice on the railgun and any good posts will be edited into the thread. Again, i hope this helped, i will add detail when I'm not as tired, Peace all. Biggles Song for the episode: Episode 3: Haven - The Ins and Outs Best Specialization to have Manners In Game.
  4. I can't be the only person to have noticed this, but we're stuck with the same few maps on rotation time after time in matchmaking. I paid good money to get the DLC and there are some good maps amongst these. Even outside of the DLC, there's a good variety of maps that we just don't see in matchmaking. Is there any way in which this can be remadied? It'd be nice to have the option to play more than the 4 or so maps over and over again. Thanks.
  5. Please fix these things: Force even team numbers on objective type games. - no one wants to play CTF 5 on 2 Flag sometimes drops through the bottom or floor or ground. Weapons instantly disappear sometimes after a death. - I get it that the weapons can't stay on the map the entire game, but honestly I would have a sniper, get sniped in the base and e respawn and the sniper has already disappeared. This happens constantly and is really frustrating when it happens with ordinance weapons and power weapons. Forge Community maps online are sluggish and do not allow for accurate gameplay. - It is probably due to he large canvas type map and the information within it that slows it down. Having players create maps and have them online is awesome, but not when it's to sluggish to drop heads. - also Shutout is BOMB! Lockout is my favorite map of all time and I am jacked to see it back in action, so I want it fixed to not be sluggish. ......Anyone else feel free to add onto the list.
  6. Hi. I would like to hear ideas for an ODST 2 game. Here are some of mine. Yarus Prime... Homeworld of the Kig Yar. On this planet it rains the crystals, and they will do you damage if caught in a heavy downpour. The coulur of the crystals is not pink untill it has been weaponised. Once they hit the ground they slowly melt into a liquid and then that liquid dissipates into the planets surface. This game is about getting intel on how the kig yar weaponise the needler crystals. The rivers and oceans of Yarus prime are made from this "liquid crystal" . It will act like quick sand if you are caught in it. Weapon ideas: Grenades: Non sticky needler grenade: once thrown , it detonates on the second impact, the needles fly out in all directions and when a target is struck by one needle all the other needles are attracted to that target. imagine a swarm of bees suddenly changing direction and charging at a single target.any "secondary targets" hit before the "swarm" attacks will be pulled into the first target and become part of the explosion. Sticky grenade:This grenade has to stick a target to be effective. once the target is stuck the grenades coverds the target in liquid crystal and then sends out a pulse encasing the target in hard crystal... boooom. Needler pistols: Hard needler pistol: Works like the needle rifle but the shots need to be in close proximity to each other to be of any explosive effect. Multiple hits will still bring a target down. Liquid crystal pistol: one shot will temporarily hold the target in place. used in conjunction with hard needler weapons this pistol makes fast moving targets easier to hit. If a hard needle shot was to hit where the liquid shot hit it will explodes the harded liquid and the resulting explosion will be big.makes using the hard needle pistol easier. Needle rocket launcher: You aim the weapon at the target and its round flys above that target sending out needles to blanket the area all around the target. A nice neat square are of needles stuck into targets and the ground will then explode... a nice way to take out large numbers of fast moving kig yar. Needle shotgun: This is a combination weapon. This gun uses hardened but non weaponised crystals. Effective at close range only it will kill a target that is at very close range with one shot if the target is unarmoured. The combination part of this weapon comes into play when you are taking on armoured targets or targets that are not so close or if you just want to make this go boom. Use the liquid needle pistol to hold a trget in place, then cover it using a sticky grenade, and before the grenade sends out its pulse, shoot the target with the shotgun, as the pulse then goes off it will weaponise the shotguns ammunition making the target explode with tremendouse force, killing any nearby targets and concussing close by targets. Needle sniper rifle: One shot one kill. This weapon does not need and explosion to kill, but timed right you can make it work explosivey. Firing this weapon to quickly will make it explode in your hands... not a good thing. Shooting this weapons clip will make it explode also. More than one way to take out that sniper. If it is raining on Yarus Prime and you have this weapon, the armoured targets out in the rain can be taken out by waiting for the rain to become liquid and firing a shot into the liquid. The shot will make the liquid become hard crystal and then it will explode. But the liquid dissipates quickly so you have to be fast. Needle dagger: The blade is somewhat like a syringe, the handle ful of micr needles. This dagger can be used as a once time thrown weapon or used multiple times as a weapon of assasination. either way it injects the target with micro needles and a small explosion inside the target will kill it. Needle explosive:(C4) Just a big pink boom on remote detonation. Needle mines: Pressure activated jumping mine: Jumps into the air at target head height, projectiles are in clusters, so any target struck will be hit with enough needles to make them explode. Proximity mine:(wall mounted) When a target walks by this mine it will send out a stream of liquid crystal and then a single hard crystal before the liquid has set, the resulting explosion kills the first target and damages any near by targets even killing them if they are close enough. Strip mine: This weapon is a variation of the needle rocket launcher. It has 3 modes of fire, circle, line and half square. Once pattern has been selected you fire the " rope" of mines and they will land in the shape you have selected. Explode them by means of remote detonation. ODST Weapons: Taser shot: Semi automatic pistol that fires an electrified round shorting out kig yar shields and killing most targets with one shot. Rampancy Rifle: This weapon fires a dart round, inside the casing of this round is a rampant A.I. construct. The target, once hit will become enraged and start to attack anything that moves. Light hammer: Heavy machine gun tht fires incendiary rounds, multiple hits on a single target will turn the target to ash. O.D.S.T. Bow: Silent long range lock on weapon. Once an arrow has been fired it will home in on the target. A smart team might even stick the arrow just before it it released with a grenade. A played that wants to stay hidden amongst a valley of snipers might use this weapon to hit the clip of the enemy snipers weapon. O.D.S.T. Equipment: Shadow suit: stay in the shadows and you will bcome them. move too fast and you will be noticed. M.D.J. ( multiple direction jetpack): Fly up then hit a direction on the D-pad and hit fly again and you will boost in that direction. Good for all kinds of reasons. Chameleon pack: Use this to become the hill to become the tree, no matter how close an enemy is to you, as long as you dont move, they will not see you. Cloak of betrayal: Assasinate an enemy while this pack is activated and you will become that enemy (holographically). This willl fool most targets. I think that will do for now. Cant wait to hear some other ideas.
  7. OK so most of us except the N00Bs outhere can tell you the H4 gametype "flood" sucks, well why cant it come back better like this: starts out with the player being a Infection form "little bug like popcorn things" then you latch yourself onto someone and they become an Infection form but you become a combat form "actual fighters" and you wield whatever weapon that player had as also with AA and Player species. After being killed as a combat form there is a chance that depending on what kills you got you could turn into a stalker form (Halo 3 ones that climb walls), Ranged form (Halo 3 form that shoots needles at you from the wall), and very rarely a tank form (big hunter like ones in Halo 3) flood base would either be gravemind or proto gravemind. Can operate vehicles flood announcer would be the gravemind carrier forms are a "place" to spawn at if you are a infection form and you can operate them, by the way if you get stuck by a grenade, you explode entirely, and if shot by a rocket or fuel rod will just end you flying undead. flood HUD would be all the same for each except the combat form who would have the previous user HUD but just with pestilence and flys in front. Hope you like the ideas!
  8. Here are a few quick suggestions I believe are vital for better online/MM game play... 1) Allow parties to be visible in the pregame lobby. There is currently no way to tell if your opponents/teammates are partied up or not. HUGE DISADVANTAGE 2) Weapon spawns on Slayer, BTB & both regicide game types needs to be increased (especially heavy & mid grade weapons). Many times your ordnance is of no help, and weapons don't spawn often enough for the game to have that competitive nature you want. 3) The Flood are too strong in the Flood game type. The thruster pack is too powerful and allows the Flood way to much control of the game. Decrease health as well as thruster pack ability to even the odds. 4) This might be a long shot but I really think they should bring back Campaign scoring, medals and XP. I know there was issues with farming in Reach, but if you did it right you should be able to prevent this. With the way it stands now, once the campaign is completed there is no real incentive to go back and re-play.
  9. Reach featured ground breaking improvements to the forge. One of the lagerst was a blank canvas recomended for forge editing only called Forge World. Although Halo 4 added the option of all maps having a blank version, It's forge world equivallant was TOO SMALL. I would like to see a larger forge world type map in Halo five.
  10. This article was created to try and get our voices heard. If you agree with the article below, please copy and paste it to any website/forum where it can be read by halo fans. The point is to have this article on the internet so much that 343i has to notice it. Halo 4 as it is now Halo 4 has set new boundaries for future Halo games. They have provided us with unique forge features that make forging much more easier then ever before. On top of this they have provided us with two solid campaigns. The master chief's story is both epic, thrilling, and even a little saddening. The new Spartan-Ops mode has replaced firefight over all and set a new playground for co-op fun. Finally, of course, there is the ever beloved matchmaking. Infinity slayer, swat, and griff-ball are returning favorites. However, even with all of these new features, there are still many flaws that need to be considered by 343i before the game is perfect. These are small tweaks that should have been considered before-hand, but, should be considered now before it is too late. Spartan-Ops While the new spartan-ops has met my expectations, providing us with a rich story that flows in perfectly with the main campaign, and giving co-op players a new field for mayhem, it has some flaws of it's own that should be considered perhaps next season or even next game. For starters, while the cut-scene episode that you witness every week is original and brilliant, the actual in game gameplay has no link at all. If you set a person up for Episode 1, Level one and then put them in Episode 3, level 3, they might not even know that you skipped any levels at all. While the game explains why you are there, no connection exists between that level and the others. On top of this, there is nothing unique to these missions. Not once do you ever get sent out to save scientists in one level and in the next level have to do something unique such as passanger warthog filled with scientists as fast as you can towards your evac point, with covenant on your hide the whole time. It is always the same thing. Go in, kill covenant and promethiens, and get out. No epic mammoth driving, no pelican driving, no escape scenes. Just killing enemies. They have even recently decided to just take multiplayer maps and turn them into spartan-ops missions! No, they did not do anything cool like add more to the level, they just took the level itself and added enemies. Matchmaking I absolutely *love* the new matchmaking. It has such great potential. However, this potential was not put to it's full test. Do not get me wrong, i still love it. The ability to have custom loadouts, weapon skins, packages/upgrades and specializations is amazing. However, they have not used this all to it's capability. Let us start from the bottom up. The ability to choose your own loadouts is great, fantastic in fact. This idea alone has no flaw. What does flaw is the options they give you. Out of over 30 weapons in the game, 7 primary weapons and 3 secondary weapons are at your disposal. The other 20 are RARELY used. I have used only about 5-10 of the other weapons because that is all you usually come across. The game should have either had 15 loadout weapons and 15 power weapons, or even gone as far as 20 loadout weapons and 10 power weapons. The fact is, we just do not need that many power weapons. Hell, some of them are just pointless, such as the concussion rifle in this game, in all of it's under-beefed glory. Having so many power weapons gives the game a glossy appearance that it is full of bad ass explosions and fights. Yet, as we all know, this is not the case. Providing players with more loadout weapons means there is more incentive to level up, more action going on throughout the ENTIRE match, and more unique and individual load out systems. If they consider this in future games, it would truly put potential to the test. Yet, even with all this, there is more. Let us talk about something they have the ability to change at any time. Tactical/Support packages. This feature is great and unique to the Halo Franchise. Yet, is there any big benefit to them? Let us all admit, the idea for these came from popular games like COD and BF3. However, it works well in Halo. Yet, in games like COD, the perks are completely game changing. In Halo 4 however, you hardly notice the difference at times. You can sprint infinitely, recharge your shields slightly faster, recharge your AA faster, but it is not that noticable. Even with this not being noticable, it would work well if there were more options. If they refuse to have perks such as increased melee distance, more damage with secondary weapons, having enemy vehicles outlined, or no turret over-heat, they could have still added perks such as faster melee, more damage to vehicles, or less damage from certain genres of weapons. All of these are easy to add to the game through a patch, and game changing. Now, hold on, i am still not done with Matchmaking. There is still the issue of weapon skins and specializations. When i heard of weapon skins and specializations, i got excited. Finally, a game changing benefit that is visible and easy to notice. Yet... i was later disappointed. While specializations ARE game changing and provide us with unique unlocks, it is way to difficult to achieve them. Specializations should have been unlocked at a much lower level (20-30) so that most players could have access to it. Instead, they placed it at level 50. This would be fine except once you get to level 25 and above leveling up becomes a complete chore. If more players had access to specialzations, the gameplay would change for the better. People would be aiding their team more by knowing they can do better and get more points by being a team player and filling their role in their specialization. Instead, there is a distinct line between people who barely can get on to play, and those who have all day. On top of this all, there is weapon skins. Such a unique feature, but there is just not enough of them in the game. One per weapon is not unique at all and ruins the idea of it all together. Just add more to be unlocked in the game or through map packs and players will be pleased. I will post about forge later on.

On Adrift there are several viable routes you can take from the start. That is why I made this video to showcase these starts and get your feedback on which one you typically use and why? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZMa-WT1hRM&feature=plcp . . .
  12. I recently posted a topic about Halo 4 being a MAJOR dissapointment.. But now that i read up on some bugs and played a bit more, i have came to this conclusion: UPDATE: After reading through some things, Halo 4 is a pretty good game... Some guns and vehicles are over powered and there are some bugs but with a small update i think the game will be one of the best Halo's out there.. So, do u agree with that or no?? Follow this topic if you want more info on bug fixes/updates with Halo 4... Thanks for reading
  13. This is another suggestion thread started by me but unlike my forge ideas this one consentrates on the invasion gametype in case it does return in Halo 4. I do not know if invasion will be in Halo 4 but I have my hopes. I found after a while invasion simply became repetitive because it was always the same objectives, same strategies, same threats and few maps that after a few games you would know inside and out. I thought that to make it more intresting, more gameplay aspects should be possible and I thought that it would make it more intresting to have... wait for it... FRIGATES... and... CORVETTES! Yes I am aware what most people say about implementing such massive vehicles and the incredible amounts of problems it can cause and the mountains of reasons it is not feasable but please, hear me out. What I am implying is not to add whole controllable vehicles but more of a giant model like the aegis fate from sandbox. For them to work a few new vehicles/weapons would need to be made available: covenant drop pods ODST drop pods mac guns, the one you use in the reach campaign covenant AA guns, the ones you destroy on tip of the spear corvettes frigates pelicans phantoms How they would work would be that the invading team spawns and respawns inside the corvette or frigate depending on if they are humans or elites of course and could either man large guns mounted on the side of the ship to act as arial aid or jump in the drop pods and drop into the battlefield. Only one or two corridors would be accesable so they dont need to build a full interior and the rest of the ship would be behind forever locked doors. Only a few corridors are required to hold spawn points, mounted guns and drop pods anyway. The opposing team would eventually get a MAC or AA gun with which they can shoot down the opposing teams spawn ship which would then crash onto the battlefield and the previously accessable corridors simply get remodeled to look destroyed and have holes in them etc. It wouldn't have any guns or drop pods however it would keep respawn points. The enemy MAC or AA gun can be destroyed. The Big gun only becomes usable in the last round and a hanger in the ship opens containing one or two pelicans/phantoms that can be used to transport pretty much an entire team directly to the enemy's base. If something here does not make any sense or if i skipped over a detail somewhere let me know and I will clarify. Please tell me what you think of my ideas below.
  14. I know the people I've spoken to feel the same way, I'm just hoping the majority of the community does too. 343 You’re our last hope… This means a lot to me and I know it means a lot to you too. This is going to be long but it needs to be said. I just want someone from 343 to read it. Please just one person is enough that’s all I ask. Before I get to my point, let me explain how I got into Halo so you can understand where I’m coming from. I’ll try to keep it brief. Way back when I was just a kid everyone from my neighborhood used to play N64 shooters like Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Turok etc. and I loved those games. Against my friends I was the best, so being a kid I believed that I was the best in the world… I mean when you’re young and you’re the best on your block, you feel like the best! Then along came PC online gaming. Yep I sucked! Big time. Quake, Unreal Tournament, Battlefield… Not being able to see the other player’s screens was a big reality check. But there was one game that really stuck out. This game was called Delta Force 2. I started playing Delta Force 2 and I actually got pretty good. I even made a name for myself amongst highly skilled players on a few servers. Remembering Sever/Hosts names and joining clans telling yourself “yeah this is where the good people play”. This is how you fount your competition. It became easy to find servers with highly skilled players in it but it was always the same players, with the odd noob sneaking in just to make the numbers for a full game. But it still was nothing compared to Halo 2. When I got Halo 2 after still being the best out of my handful of friends I went online on XBL. I knew what I wasn’t the best but I still went in gunz blaz’n baby! As I played in team slayer I wondered “what is that number beside our names” Seeing the “1” jump to a “3” after one game had me confused but after 2 -3 games I quickly learned what it was… our level. I still didn’t value it just thought it was cool, I thought to myself “I wonder how long it takes to reach the top” around level 10 I came across another player who clearly made a new account. But back then I didn’t know, finishing the team slayer game with 25 kills and everyone else having around 10-5 I thought this guy was some kind of god. I was only level 10 though. As I leveled I realized what the matchmaking system was actually doing, it was matching players of the same skill level together. As I reached level 20 this is where it became harder. I realized I was stuck, I couldn’t get any further for about a whole two months I was level 20. Within this period I came across level 25s and saw one or two level 30’s. I respected them as players. When you see them in the lobby and nobody has been put on teams yet you’re praying, “please put the level 30 on my team pleeease” They was always better than me. I wondered “WTF do they do that makes them sooooo good” but at the same time I was more interested in what it’s like when they go into matchmaking and everyone is level 30. Man that must be though. The leveling system Being able to play with your skill level and test you’re might is great but having something to show and something to lose makes it that much more valuable. Nowadays the leveling system is too soft. Back in Halo 2 I remember getting a level 33 in Team slayer winning three games on it then losing 1 game and BAM! I’m level 32 again. Yea I was pissed but that’s what made me value my level and other people’s. In Halo 3 everyone and their mother had a level 50. It was a very good leveling system still but in the end it didn’t mean anything. It was too easy to get. And Halo: Reach… Arena was clever but it really was not that good. Please Bring back that unforgiving leveling system. Yea their was no legit 50s in Halo 2 but the fact that everyone had one in Halo 3 really didn’t solve the problem. Getting to a level 40 in Halo 2 was God Like. It meant you overcame being Modded, Standby, Super Bounced, De-levelers and quitters to get to that level. Halo 3 may have been solid but the fact that players can lose ten games yet still maintain their level makes no sense. Where’s the sense of achievement? The leveling system in Halo 3 is way too soft. It needs to be more unforgiving! Importance of solid matchmaking Not all of us are competitive I know this and not all of us are in the tournament scene (I’m not) BUT that does not mean everyone cannot appreciate a solid leveling and matchmaking system. I am not in the tournament scene so I know that not all Halo players are competitive, but to play a decent game with players who are genuinely at the same skill level now means finding clans or entering tournaments. For players like me it’s a pain. In H2 (Halo 2) If you brought a low level into matchmaking it would try to math you up with the same odds and it was pretty good at it if I remember. Now I don’t have to find clans or get into the tournament scene to have decent games. It makes it easier for everyone and the casual players still get to play with each other. I was quite oblivious to what goes on at the higher levels when I was stuck at level 20. But if it were not for Halo 2 strict matchmaking I would not have the skill I have today on shooters. Problems of today When I play reach you have nothing to lose I mean arena has too much nonsense and cheap ways to play it such as camo & sniper camping. So arena is a no go. Plus getting to Onyx was the easiest thing ever it was pretty much a joke. So MLG has its only playlist… why is it not ranked? You know it didn’t matter at first it has it had it’s pros and cons. But the big problem was the amount of quitting that goes on. Here is a number of reasons people quit in the first 2 mins of the game in Halo: Reach MLG playlist…. Whole team gets killed Opposing teams controls all weapons One person on your team lagged out Someone is idle for 30 secs after the match began. Your team is losing 10-0 I could go on but my point is on Halo 2 people stayed because you didn’t lose until you lost. Remember when you was down 10 kills it’s 49-39 to the opposing team, everyone is screaming at each other “Don’t Die, DON’T DIE!” that little voice in the background… “I have the sniper” you all play your hardest and pull the win. At the end of the match in the end game lobby everyone is quite and that one guy says… “GET RAPED!” And then leaves LOL oh man Halo 2 those where the days. You see people stayed because they valued their level very rarely people quit. Allow me to touch on COD for two seconds… how often do you get to play in a room where 90% of the players in the game have the same skill as each other and its ranked… Yea not often. You might be luck if you come across 3 people on the opposing team that’s better than you other than that your playing with the consol owners 10 yr old kids. You don’t get to test your skill constantly like you did in Halo 2 nowadays. It’s starting to happen on Halo reach too, just jump in MLG right now. The Value When I told my little cosine about the old halo matchmaking and leveling system he said something funny. When I explained everything he paused for two seconds looked at me then said… “That’s like gambling” lol He’s right! Once you attain a “high level” that you was happy with to go in again to either level up or de-level was a rush. All those hours of hard work and lucky wins on the line. Yesterday your friends couldn’t believe the level you have now you might just lose it. Only Halo 2 made me feel this way because I knew if I lost I might not get it back. Level 35 in team snipers and 30 in hardcore. That was some real levels for me. You know you value your level when you don’t let your friends play on your account, when you finally persuade your closest friend to get Halo 2 and xbl only to then say “Yo I’ll play with you, but not in Team slayer… I don’t wanna lose my level”. Yeah I know some shady **** but it’s the truth and you know it. In Halo 3 I couldn’t care less what happened to my 50 in MLG. Everybody had one it was ridiculous it didn’t have nearly as much value as what a level 30 had in team slayer in Halo 2. To be honest if you could rank everyone levels on halo with the pros being 50 and the noobs being 10, I would probably be a legit level 42. I know this is impossible but atleast make the matchmaking strict enough so that when the best have 50 and play each other the loser goes down a level. At least after two loses on a 50. The Halo 2 Experience VOICE CHAT! Now I understand why people have been muted from the other team but in halo two it was perfect. If you were too far form the opponent they couldn’t hear you. Problem solved. If you want the opposing team to not hear you then give us that option too. We can easily set that in the options menu in Halo 3 I think. But make it the standard to hear the opposing team in ranked. I never used to “talk s***” BUT that was the funniest part about being able to hear peoples reactions as you no scope them on the brink of death or slapping their dead body and hearing them rage… “You think you’re good kid! Huh! Wanna 1v1 me after this!” You guys know who you are lol. I could only imagine how fun it would be if you could hear the opposing team in COD. And that’s a game I don’t play! Even hearing players say sigh and the say “good ****” after you kill them is quite fulfilling no matter how they say it. How we feel I have conversations with people now and then who bring up what shooters are the best and very rarely do they back up why they think COD or GoW is a good game and explain their history on it. After I tell them mine they go quite and just say… “damn I wish I played it”. When I talk to other Halo 2 players we even end up saying lets play some Reach only to find out why we stopped playing it. Halo games as a whole brings something to the table but that online matchmaking just did it for me too. I have only played one other game with a matchmaking system on par with Halo 2. That was Championship Mode on Street Fighter IV. But still you couldn’t really de-level on that but if you could make it to the end of the mini tournament it was always with with someone tough. We wish the next Halo would bring back some memories of Halo 2 but all I ask if to give back that solid matchmaking system it had. I really means a lot to me. Ask around other players will agree and you can still cater to the casual gamers with overall service ranks and all that nonsense. I still play with some of the people I met on Halo 2 just because of how we bonded on trying to reach that next level of skill and playing in matchmaking. A shout out to few old GTs I remember… dx K Bye xb Yo Granny Foo tRxZePPeLiNx The Black Girl I Poppa G I Rambo631862 Don Salchicon Thug Money Abit of Luck I left out a lot of people and may have spelt the names wrong but it’s no biggie if you read please support it. There is so much more I want to say but for now I just wanted to bring Halo 2 matchmaking to the light. (Sorry for the bad grammar and typos you may find but I’m not a writer I’m a gamer that’s just trying to speak up) 343 please bring back Halo 2 matchmaking and all its glory in some way. Peace out DaRealNRG TL:DR: Bring back Halo 2 Matchmaking.
  15. Is 343 ruining Halo: Reach? Sadly the answer is yes. Bloom is good! Why would they remove it? It seperates the noobs from the pros. Only 300 people play the TU Beta. Why? IT SUCKS. Notice how every playlist that gets the title update subsequently loses the majority of it's players. Every update has made the game worse. I hope 343 gets the message and stops ruining Halo: Reach. If any 343 staff is reading this, PLEASE STOP. YOU'VE ALREADY SCREWED UP HALO:REACH ENOUGH. Bungie was SOOOO much better. Please stop. It was amazing and now it's getting worse.
