  1. Am I the only one that wishes 343i would completely trash the new features that were in Reach and return to more of the Halo 3 and 2 type of gameplay? I feel like Bungie tried to appeal to the mainstream gamers and left the traditional Halo fans out. I hardly play Reach because I hate the armor abilities and the ranking system, and it took me a few months to get over the fact that they added custom loadouts. When I play Reach, i get the feel that I am playing a Call of Duty that is set in the future. I am hoping that 343i will at least take out the armor abilites and either go back to something like the Halo 3 equipment or don't have any equipment/armor ability at all; and that they will return the the Halo 3 ranking system that is actually based on skill rather than time spent playing that game, but I am afraid I am going to be disappointed. Sorry if this jumps around a little bit and seems more like a vent, but I have been wanting to put up a post like this for a long time (since a Halo 4 was made official) so I could get other people's opinions, but I just got around to making an account today.
  2. I luv Master Chief and Halo franchise. I've Been with it since the originals(xbox & halo). But after playing HALO: REACH and creating my own character(noble6 armor), I'm not looking forward to being limited to playing only Master Chief again. Am I the only one who feels this way? And is there some way to let 343 Industries know It would be wonderful if they could allow REACH characters to be used in multiplayer games?
  3. There are a few reasons in general why people hate Halo: Reach passionately. I will cover the main ones that I can think of in this thread. The armour abilities. These are considered to be the most overpowered, "noobish" abilities in the game. Personally I enjoy playing reach, but it can get frustrating at times. Let's review the abilities. Active Camo This is in my opinion only annoying by how people play it. By that I mean that some people like to rush around and when they see somebody they activate it just to mess up the motion sensor, now, on the other hand there are people who like to sit in their spawn with a sword and use it to go invisible and pretty much be camping "noobs". Armor Lock (The worst of the worst) I think that this armor ability is the most overpowered of all. You can survive literally ANYTHING while using this ability. Most Halo: Reach players see anybody using this power up as a bad-kid. My advice on how to avoid hate using armour lock? (Don't use it), and you will make the game fun, and more challenging. Jet Pack In my personal opinion this ruins the dynamics of a map. Instead of running the normal routes on a certain map, you can now take any path that you like and gain a huge "unfair", advantage in-game. Sprint Sprint is usually the power-up that people usually don't have a problem with. I rarely do, but in some cases it can be a pain. Let's say that I am shooting someone, that person is getting out DMRed and almost dead, but so am I. Then he manages to get behind cover and use sprint to run away so his teammate can come and clean me up. (Also, evade works the same way). From now I can say that the only armour ability that I do not have a problem with is hologram. Doesn’t really affect most experienced players, only n00bs go for the holograms The ranking system As we all know in previous Halos, the ranking up aspect of the game has always been different. In my opinion I think that in previous Halos the system has been much better. In Halo: Reach, ranks are mostly based on how much you play the game and how many challenges you can complete. So I could be in a lobby with a Commander, and an Inheritor. The commander could be an MLG pro with a 5.00k/d and the Inheritor could be negative, so what I’m trying to get at is that in Reach, you are not ranked according to skill level. In the previous Halos you could have a “50” in team slayer, and you would always be paired up with other randoms that would be playing to win. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but when Halo 3 was at its prime, people that had 50’s 9 times out of 10 would be great. The odd exception would be a bought account. So it would be a much more challenging/fun game to play. That pretty much sums up my main two negative points on this game. We have about 12 members but most of them are offline at any give time. our current recorded is 3 wins 1 loss.   8. So, I have been spending the past few days making some halo videos, and have uploaded three to youtube so far. One of them is a short stand-alone machinima, and two are just your average gameplay videos.   10. Ok, I know this is me just being nit-picky, but I'm seriously wondering why we're forced into the red and blue team colors in any invasion mode. I mean, it's not that hard to tell who's on what team with it being Spartans vs Elites. So, why force the colors? Now, to state this in advance, I know that some of you will say that that's the only way that the game can register teams. However this is not true in the least, for when we play Firefight matchmaking it puts us into red team, however our colors remain our own. The same can be said for standard Firefight, where we are able to separate into both red & blue teams. All the while retaining our own colors. This said, I would like to propose that 343 Industries attempt to make it to where we keep our custom colors during Invasion matches. It shouldn't be that difficult to update the coding to do such, as I have just made clear that it has already been done in the Firefight modes, and could be easily distributed via: Title Update. Thank you all for taking the time to read this, -Alberio Craft- [EDIT #1] As stated by 'Kill the King': This is a good point, but the big problem against that arguement is that in the Infection playlist everyone uses their own color unless zombified, yet we're still able to tell the difference purly from the sword's unique look. I know that may not seem like much to counter your statement, however what I'm trying to get at is the fact that, just like how the zombies look different from the survivors due to one small unique detail, the Elites look quite different from the Spartans, due to the nature of their amors (Spartans = Bulky; Elites = Smooth) and the shapes of their bodies (ex: Elites are quite taller than spartans, and are almost always hunched over). [EDIT #2] To back up this claim even more, here is a quote from 'RedStarRocket91': The idea of having more of a stealth element within this game truly does have a huge appeal to people who are both professional and/or hardcore gamers. Especially due to the fact that it adds a ton more strategy for us during objective style game modes. This being said, there is also the contrast to where those who are wearing more vibrant colors (or colors that don't match the surroundings) will have a much more intimidating feel, as they come barreling down the corridors or across the fields, since they seem as if they don't have the need to camoflague themselves. Which also gives those players a slight leadership element. Those who are using the more vibrant colors would also be somewhat intimidating, as those who wish to attack the vivid colored enemy would have to think about if his opponent might have an ally lying in wait for an ambush. [EDIT #3] Now that all of these points have been both thought of and considered, I feel that it is safe to say that the original set-up for 'Invasion' with its forced Red and Blue colors is still a good way to help beginners. However, there has also been evidence which has been shown here to prove that we can determine who the enemy is without needing our colors forced upon us. This being said, I change my decision on changing 'Invasion' to not having forced colors. However, I also have not changed my mind. What I'm trying to get at here, is that it would be very wise of 343 Industries to listen to their fans for both sides of this argument, and split 'Invasion' into two types. "Standard Invasion" could easily be understood as the common Red vs Blue scenario, and then there could be "Invasion Plus" or some name like that, for those of us who wish to play Invasion with our own custom colors, and are tired of having our hands held while trying to fight.   11. I have found that playing on the Anniversary playlists is so much more fun than the normal playlists. It feels more like Halo 3 and it made Reach feel like I whole new game. Also, the magnum is just amazing. I've been having a lot of fun, and was wondering if anybody else agrees that the game feels better with the tweaked speed and no armor abilities. I now have complete confidence in 343 Industries.
  12. First and foremost, get rid of the loadouts. In my opinion, the loadout feature has ruined the entire Halo experience. I think most of the Halo vets will agree with me on that one. Why be lazy and use a jetpack when you can learn super bounces like in Halo 2. Why be a ***** and hide under your armor lock when you can strategically plan out the smartest time to pick up the overshield. Next. BR > DMR. The DMR is trash. The BR was such a better go to weapon. I mean come on, strafing and placing your shots is enough to comprehend, but to strafe, place, and TIME your shots? Get real Bungie. I really hope 343 destroys the DMR and brings back the BR. Ranking system. The Halo: Reach ranking system is the worst ranking system I've ever experienced in any game, ever. You don't even have a number that says how skilled you are! Instead, all you get is a symbol that says how much you play! I would much rather be ranked on how WELL I play the game, not on how much I PLAY the game. Halo 2 had my favorite ranking system. All you need is a simple, solid number that says your skill. I remember when I first got my 30, how pretty the colors were on that number. Halo 3's ranking system was ok, but then again, experience points and grades are unnecesary to me. Glitches. I miss all of Halo 2's glitches. Super bouncing, BXR, Double shot, getting outside of maps, etc. I had so much fun with all of these glitches in matchmaking. I also had a lot of fun trying to figure them out in custom games with a group of friends. I would love to see 343 bring back the super bounce, and throw in some glitches of their own. One thing that I have always wanted to see is a custom matchmaking playist. No vetos, no majority vote, just pick a map, pick a gametype, and search for others who have the same custom settings as yourself. Of course keep all of the other playlists like Doubles, Snipers, Rumblepit, etc. Just add 'custom matchmaking' to the playlist. I would also like to see 1v1. Halo 2 had it for a bit but they pulled it as well as on Halo 3. It was there for about 6 months in each game until it was pulled. This time I hope 343 keeps it. Last but not least, I hope to see a lot of the old maps return in their original forms. Lockout is the best Halo map of them all. I really like Blackout too, but it's just not the same. The reason these maps are brought back is because they were so popular and highly demanded. If you're going to bring an old map back just leave it the way it is. I don't care if you have a good idea on how to improve it. If it's a classic, it doesn't need improvement, so don't alter it. Here is a list of maps I hope to see in Halo 4. Lockout, Ascention, Guardian, Construct, Cold Storage, Headlong, Beaver Creek, The Pit, Midship, Ivory Tower. The list goes on. I think most of the maps in H2 and H3 were amazing, but there are a couple that just suck. Honestly, I think I just miss the old Halo experience. I really hope 343 removes every intention Bungie had for Reach and brings back the old features to relive and continue to enjoy the 'Halo experience.' Oh yeah, one more thing i forgot to mention. I always thought team captains would be cool. For example, say you enter team slayer and 8 players are randomly selected. I think the top 2 players with the highest rank should be the team captains. Then the other players will be chosen by the team captains based on their stats, rank, name, annoyingness or however they feel to pick their teammates. I think it would add a little more fairness and teamwork to the halo experience but not so much that it completely changes the game... like Reach.
  13. Maximum of 16 clan members enter for each clan. Each clan gets to pick one map they will play their games on if they are the "Home Team". This map must follow these guidelines; takes up much of forge world is a custom made btb map, (or u can choose an already existant map) no spartan lasers(in a class or map) no scorpians no classes with snipers one sniper on the ground for each team with only 4 bullets in it no gauss wart hogs one or no warthogs for each team one life 5 different classes to choose from 10 rounds triple elimination, lose 3 games and your out *FREE TO ENTER, just for FUN no cheating, cheating results in automatic elimination once we get down to the final 4 teams we will seed it based on how well they did in the triple elimination round. the final round will best 2 out of 3 clan battles, 10 rounds each, single elimination. winner ges a congradulatory post on this website, and fame in the halo world. any clan may enter but fist u must meet with me (gamertag: A hil13) to make sure u understand all rules above. i may post new info about this on this page, about any new rules or how many spots are left. this will take place over the courseof the next few months. see u soon!

  15. Hello all, I'd like to request a mod to anyone, or if 343 can, to make a downloadable Forge ODST drop pod object, or an ODST map pack with fully functional ODST Drop Pods. It would really make a huge, I mean, HUGE difference to the Forge and slayer gameplay. It probably would be pretty amazing just dropping out of the sky and manually punching the door off, then running into a 8 vs 8 battle. So again, please, I hope someone would make one of the greatest changes to the Forge gameplay system. Or if possible, make an ODST map pack for Halo: Reach. I'd like the pods to have a fully working parachute, landing thrusters, and a 'punch off' door.   20. I was playing HaloReach and then my Xbox live expired, so I went a couple months without playing, then when I got back on and started playing halo I down ranked and lost 1million credits! I use to be a legand and now I'm a hero but I should almost be a Mythic. I don't know what todo! I lost 1,000,000Cr and that made me rank down. Please help me!
  21. is anyone from 343 monitoring the halo:reach forums because heaps of people are saying they are having server issues and have done since 343 took over the servers and put the title update out. i feel a bit betrayed as i still have my original xbox that i bought with halo: combat evolved, then played halo 2 obsessively online, then bought the xbox360 halo 3 pack then odst then halo wars and then reach which i used to play everyday with my mates from all over the world. haven't got the anniversary yet because i dont know if i even want to if this is going to carry on might just have to start playing battlefield 3 instead. because there's no issues there. im paying to play the game so do something about it.

  23. Alright, the last time i wrote the other post, I was pissed off due to personal reasons. Here is WHAT i really think we should do. ...Fine. I was really pissed off when I wrote that other one, so why don't we consider this? Armor lock nerf=good 75% bloom=I can adapt, but can you consider this? 50% bloom? Bleedthrough=No, just no. At least not this much. I don't want to be able to pump two shots into my enemy then punch him, and he immediately dies. 3 shot pistol SOUNDS perfect, but we have to remember that in Halo 1, or CE, there were TWO head shot weapons. It was also harder to get kills. Now there are rifles The pistol should be worse than the Dmr/nr, yet better than the AR. No sword block=WTF? It's as simple as kubgd, switch weapons and shoot once. Guaranteed kill. Sword block wasn't even an issue. It's rarely seen. I know it's supposed to be a power weapon, but come on, sword block occurs once every 10 games, and the person who sword blocks usually dies anyways. (Excluding infection) 4 shot headshot weapons.=Fail. The NR is now OP because of it's auto fire. Also, the game goes too fast with the rate of fire being too high and the AR killing super quickly. Active camo was fine just the way it is. If you want to screw around with armor abilities screw around with armor lock. Armor lock=Why don't you make armor lock repel POWER weapons and vehicles, but be susceptible to regular weapons. That way everyone is happy. I think that's it. But please, just at least make the update optional. I hate having to switch playlists. BTB, since the update, is usually down 1,000-2,000 players. Also, try to make it more fun. Also, take away base recoon
  24. Dome is a map I made that is both an Aesthetic and Fun Map to play on. It is Fairly Large, yet very easy to navigate through. It greatly support's Big Team Battle, and if not enough, then Team Slayer is playable too. Send back your feedback, and in time, this Greatly Crafted map might be in Matchmaking one day! Red side, in Red base smaller house) 1 spiker (Red side, bottom of 3 story building) 1 Grenade launcher (Red side, Top of 3 story building) 3 Health Stations (Located evenly across the map. On Bridge behind teleporter, and on both base's towers) 1 Plasma launcher (Blue side, Top of 3 story building) 1 Plasma Rifle (Located on Bridge, behind Teleporter) 2 Needle Rifle ( Located near teleporter, and small Blue base house) Magnums and DMRs (located all over the map) This map is amazing for Big Team Battle. When 343 took over halo they said they wouldn't mess with the bungie playlists, so i was expecting a seperate playlist for the beta which happened at first and now half the bungie playlist have been destroyed by tu slayer etc... It's not hard to have a playlist with the original gametypes and rules and have a seperate with the new rules, but you can play either with/without extra maps (puts you into game with other people with same map packs). I enjoy the anniversary maps but i'm fed up of being in gametypes where the pistol is superpowered, I hope 343 read this and use this idea cus it would make it alot better for everyone.
