  1. The thing that always had be hooked on Halo>CoD as a personal opinion is that someone on CoD can catch you off guard or from a bad angle and instantly destroy you.. But in halo.... Well.. AGL Chicago Loser Finals Pistola out BR'ing Ninja on Station 9 Here you can see Ninja completely messed up and Pistola COMPLETELY DESTROYED HIM WITH GOOD AIM. Here you can see ninja doing big things though also.. AGL Chicago WB Finals Game 4 Ninja "Poppin some heads" The point is... Halo is a skilled game and isn't going anywhere but UP if anywhere in the community.. Halo isn't dying anytime soon.. Not saying CoD isn't good and not saying CoD doesn't require skill because it DOES REQUIRE A LOT OF SKILL.. just different type of skill and a different fan base... both are good games in my opinion.. Anyways here is what I have to say about the AGL tournament from today. As well all know MLG recently had made the decision that the wouldn't OR couldn't pickup Halo 4 for the upcoming MLG event in Dallas... With that being said it caused a major stir in the community from players putting the nail in the H4 coffin to players building their CoD treehouse... either way.. it was a sad moment for the community since Halo and MLG have always been known to go hand in hand with the exception of Reach being a roller coaster ride for MLG. Of course we could not let Halo die, and you can see from the Arena Gaming League tournament in Chicago that HALO ISN'T DEAD and is no way on the way of falling apart... Not to say this tournament was perfect because their were problems and the people hosting and working on it already know what went right and went wrong so I don't need to specify any of those. It was an amazing event to watch with a vast amount of players doing insane plays, callouts, positioning, and of course.. the TRASH TALK.. From Ninja's amazing play on that Haven oddball to Pistola absolutely murdering Ninja later on in a game with a crazy out BR, to FORMAL's AMAZING sniping in the finals, it was all GG's here and there. This event truely showed what the community and the pro's are capable of... oh and just in.. Carbon is getting back together so that's always a light in this dimly lit scene that many portray the Halo community as. Myself personally would view this scene as a time bomb that is about to blow up and bloom some flowers! As I found AGL AMAZING! For anyone who missed it you should go watch the rebroadcast... anyways here are some links.. http://arenagaming.us/ http://www.twitch.tv/arenagamingleague https://twitter.com/ArenaGaming_ https://www.youtube.com/NinjasHyper https://twitter.com/NinjaRTB https://twitter.com/iGotUrPistola https://twitter.com/xHoNNy7 "10h Scott R Lussier Scott R Lussier ‏@Scandhi Lord of the Rings: The Return of #Carbon - coming to a local east coast tournament near you. @GH057ayame RT." Anyways, Happy Gaming. #SaveHalo ; ) <3
  2. With the 2v2 playlist penciled in for early February, this is a good time for the community to discuss what would work best. Source of news: http://mltiplyr.com/...ate-january-28/ Also releasing in February is the Majestic Map Pack which is confirmed to feature two smaller maps. This should help buff 2v2's worth in matchmaking. - - - As we know, 2v2's are a staple within competitive Halo play. Being a competitive player myself, I also understand the balance of simplicity and complexity necessary to allow such maps to work within a 2v2 environment. In this thread we will discuss why a map could or could not work for 2v2's. Please list pro's and con's for each map presented and we will collectively add them to the OP in hopes of achieving a near perfect experience in Halo 4's future 2v2 playlist. If there is a community map presented, please share the corresponding gamertag and as much info/media as you can. A link to a post with media would be best. Below are a few to get started, please share your input and we'll amend the list in a unified manner based on community feedback. I will list various maps below and a consensus category next to each, showing how we collectively feel about each one. The range will be Positive | Neutral | Negative. - - - Maps for Double Team Map: Lockout Consensus: Positive File: http://www.343indust...perfect-remake/ Pros: Lockout is a staple within Halo's 2v2 lore. If features the perfect balance between mix up and execution, meaning players are able to outsmart, outmaneuver and out shoot the opponent equally. Halo 4's Lockout in a 2v2 playlist would have to be 1:1 scale. While the game is marginally faster than it's predecessors, the size is perfectly fitting in a 2v2 environment and all of the jumps, line of sight, etc. would need to be retained. Cons: _____ Map: Haven Consensus: Positive File: Standard Halo 4 Map Pros: Symmetrical, balanced competitive map. Tried and true. Cons: _____ Map: Relay Consensus: Neutral File: Standard Halo 4 Forge Map Pros: Symmetrical, balanced competitive map. Cons: Slightly large, corridor based. Open space. _____ Map: Simplex Consensus: Positive File: Halo 4 Community Forge Playlist Pros: Symmetrical, balanced competitive map. MLG ready. Cons: _____ Map: Adrift Consensus: Neutral File: Halo 4 Standard Map Pros: Tried and true. Cons: Fairly large. _____ Map: Abandon Consensus: Neutral File: Halo 4 Standard Map Pros: Size is appropriate for 2v2. Cons: Potential spawn imbalance.
  3. Hi! im new on the whole forge thing but, i think that i make a pretty decent map with my friend and i hope that someone test it and send me a feedback. GT to download: Kevinjmsanchez or Tc IRayZen Apollo is a mid size map, dynamic, with two floors, nice respawn system, playable for KOTH, Competitive Dominion, Extraction, Slayer, minimal players for play it 4v4, max amount of players 5v5.
  4. Name: Serenity Gamertag: YamaMX Gametypes: Slayer (1v1, 2v2, x4 FFA) Please watch the video in full to understand the mindset behind the map and it's many intricacies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whnR7fBEnjg Serenity was originally designed due to the lack of smaller maps featured in Halo Reach and the inability to play proper and exciting 1v1 matches. Fast forward to Halo 4 and while this problem isn't quite as prevalent, it is apparent. The main objective of Serenity is fast paced smaller matches that allow the player to both out think the competition as well as out shoot. The result is a map that has many ways about going into and out of various areas, most of which require precision jumps that become second nature. The thrust ability in Halo 4 allows players to manipulate the pre-existing lift in ways not possible in Reach. This allows better movement around the map and the outplaying of your opponent. Through literal years of play testing now (counting Reach), the map has proved it's place in my group as a standard for 1v1 sets and the like. Areas can be held down like any good map, though there is not one spot a player can easily hold due to area advantage. What makes this map a joy to play for any competitive player is that it aids a high level mindset, it doesn't diminish it. Like any competitive map, absolute flow is achieved by practicing and understanding the maps intricacies, only then will it be fully understood and appreciated.
  5. Map name: Lockout Gamertag: YamaMX Gametypes: Slayer, AGL, CTF, Oddball, KOTH, Extraction File: http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/games/halo4/filebrowser/details/23f275a9-02d7-4f21-8763-02e475a15e07 Lockout is a 1:1 replica of the Halo 2 map co-forged by veteran forger Vincent Torre (MickRaider) and myself, YamaMX. Back in January I forged the map while using Halo 2 PC as a guide, block for block. Like many, I have a passion for this map as it housed many great competitive outings and memories. Having presented the original version, it received many positive reviews and a ton of useful feedback. This is where I met MickRaider, who could sense my passion for perfection and my willingness to listen, learn and execute. Together we bounced the map up and back, each of us taking care of large chunks at a time. By the end of it all, the map underwent ten major version increments before becoming final. The goal of this remake was to faithfully reproduce Lockout; line of sight for line of sight, trick jump for trick jump without sacrificing visual fidelity in any way. While some remakes tend to re-imagine the map in order for it to work with Halo 4 settings and bigger party sizes, we wanted a true 1:1 experience that both works well for Halo 4 and stays absolutely true to the original. While the trick jumps and such were made to work with Halo 4's engine seamlessly, no liberties were taken in regards to map size. Instead we measured for days on end to re-create the scale of the original, right down to the amount of seconds it takes to fall to your death. While I could write a change log, it would likely reach a character limit... thrice. I can honestly say the map was rebuilt from the ground up, everything has been amended or changed for the better in some way, shape or form. Just some small examples in comparison to the original would be the addition of the cave itself, missing entirely from the beta build. The entire height of the map has been adjusted. Bridges that most fail to realize have slight inclines have been inclined accordingly. Every Halo 2 spawn has been faithfully reproduced. Every room has been redone from the ground up, literally. Every trick jump is included and act nearly the same way they do in Halo 2. Barrel balance. Railings flipped. Tweaks to glass. Walls shortened or extended. Line of sights amended. The inclusion of CTF, Oddball and King of the Hill with the exact hill properties right down to length, width and height. The Halo 4 exclusive addition of Extraction. Optimization of the lighting budget. I could go on for hours, literally. It is an entirely new map in comparison to the original, shaped by over one hundred hours of work and countless play tests through out. The end result is Lockout, as you remember it. The map can be found in my file share or by following the provided link. Blockout, a version tweaked for Halo 4's Infinity Slayer with Ordnance Drops and such will be available shortly via MickRaider.
  6. All we have here is an MLG category and really mlg is doing nothing with Halo 4, they are old news It is Virgin Gaming and Arena Gaming League "AGL" that are not only keeping competitive Halo alive but they are saving competitive Halo. #SaveHalo Let's get an AGL category so we can discuss what they are doing with Halo 4 and what they have coming up with tournaments and live streaming!! #Couches #AGLChicago Follow AGL on twitter to get all of the latest updates https://twitter.com/ArenaGaming_
  7. Map Name: Amalgamation Forger's XBL: Seamless Forge Download: Seamless Forge's file share Version: 1.0 Untested I have been playing halo competitively since halo ce. A lot of my childhood was spent inside the halo 1 multiplayer maps. At lans we always rotated certain maps and left out others. I believe I have brought you guys a map that kid would want to play. I think this map truely is an amalgamation of all the maps I loved as a kid. I followed a simple fun layout with great long range lines of sight while keeping it intense with lifts, teleporters, skill jumps and a high middle ground. I took everything to bare bones to accomadate for a lagless gameplay I removed the roof and stuck to an efficient floor plan. I have fun just jumping around and playing on my lift setup not to mention mlg gameplay. It is medium sized, symmetrical clean. I will be trying to run MLG customs today so don't be shy send a FR. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56Ek8_nhD60 FYI: If the map is down it is undergoing renovations and will be back up within the day.
  8. In Halo 5 I would like to see a lot more symmetrical maps, I am tired of big scattered maps that are impossible to learn the callouts for, I miss the good-ole days of maps such as Lockout, Guardian, and just any small semi- symmetrical or symmetrical map. The gameplay on such maps was much more coordinated, it required skill and teamwork instead of COD style gameplay. Bring back a competitive ranking system for the love of God, nothing was more addicting than trying to get to the next rank, but it required actually winning, not just playing, even if doing horrible. Now, I wish sprint did not exist, it speeds up the gameplay way too much, instead of people planning out their next step they just run around like maniacs and rush whoever they can, it gets tedious when people aren't thinking about what they are doing in the game. Thoughts?
  9. Highland Highland is a competitive map made for extraction, KOTH, flood, infinity slayer, and Oddball (it is also a ton of fun on team snipers) it offers a unique experience compared to other maps when dealing with height advantage and vehicle circuits. The map has plenty of room yet you can travel across the map in a limited amount of time thanks to the square design and different layers of the map. I showed this map to Mr. Pokephile and he liked it enough to feature it. Hope you enjoy thejchip

  11. Map Name: Fusion Author: Shukunyami Compatible Gametypes: Slayer, CTF (Will add more later) Description: Fusion is an asymmetrical competitive map featuring a large nuclear reactor core in the middle of the map which is connected to a gravity well lift by a bridge. The reactor area serves as the base of operations for Red team. There is a teleporter that can take you inside the reactor, which can lead to hectic, cramped battles, as the inside doesn't have much room to move and features a kill ball floating in the middle and a hidden incineration cannon. The Blue Team base is a bunker with multiple floors and a pile of sandbags on top with a Binary Rifle resting against it. the are a few smaller structures littered around the map as well which feature different Promethean weapons hidden inside. The blue base, while not as easily defendable as red base, comes with 2 mongooses and 1 mantis, along with 3 small platforms that have machine gun turrets on them. Each base also has Dominion Turrets, which can be used in any game mode that allows for teams, but blue base only has 2 while red base has four. You can find the map on my fileshare, along with my other map, Hunger Games Impact. Enjoy!

Our different group types are sure to tailor to your specific gaming style, as long as our core values are upheld at all times. Our competitive groups actively participate in all major competitive gaming sites (Gamebattles, Fragged Nation, among others). While we focus on the actual aspect of online gaming itself, on multiple platforms (XBOX 360, PS3 and PC), our forums and online chat area are a great place to meet and interact with other members, and our news section will keep you up to date on LoH activities and announcements, as well as gaming-related news and events. We are a group of people who are very good at the game in different ways. Only being 11 days old this clan has many things to offer. We have a ranking system, 8 divisions, and we are working on a machinima. Our ranking system is very easy to follow. To rank up you need to show that you have skill. To show us that you have skill you need to participate in our soon to be weekly tournament. Our tounament will be on clan maps that we have forged with our forging divison. As I said before we have 8 divisions, so check them all out before you choose what division you want to be under. Even if you are not a positive k/d player we will still accept you with open arms. 21. Hello guys, I am a veteran of Halo, been playing since 2002 Combat Evolved. I really got into forge in Halo 3, and I've been making tons of maps since then. Most of them are not on my file share. But here are two forge maps I have made recently for Halo 4. You can download them from my file share. I'll post more as I make them. Gamertag: Baby Nades Map Names: Colossus, Primal Both maps are set for team slayer only and both are 2-8 players. Here are the photos of each map, I took these photos with my iPhone, so please pardon the image quality. PRIMAL: COLOSSUS: The images do not do these maps justice in my opinion, especially Primal, but I hope they give you guys a good idea of the basic layout. Primal is made for MLG gameplay, and Colossus is made for competitive multiplayer. Thanks for looking. Regards, Corey
  22. Hello 343 community. I am posting here today recruiting and challenging other clans for my newly created clan, the Prophets. We are a mature community of gamers and we are very competitive. Most of us are new to clans, but very experienced with Halo 4. I am mostly looking for new members, as we don't have many yet to challenge other clans. However we will take on any challenge. We have a base built with an area for attackers, and we will play any game type that's fair to both sides. If your interested in joining we will have practice almost everyday, if not everyday, so you must be able to be online often. We accept Halo 4 Ranked players, but you will be tested and it will be difficult to join if your not experienced. We are looking for players good at all different styles of combat. Please note that you will be asked to change to our matching emblem, and in the future one piece of armor will match with all members. Here are a list of ranks in the Prophets system. You will start off in the rank I believe best fits you, however I will move you at any time. Also, each rank is either defense, offence, or neutral. This is only for base battles. Recruits: The least experienced players we will accept. Defense. Soldiers: Average members. Neutral. Marksmen: Players good with rifles and medium range weapons. Neutral Rangers: Players good with a combination of long range and short range weapons. Offence. Shadows: Players all about stealth and assassinations. Neutral. Brutes: Players all about heavy weapons and destruction. Offence. Pilots: Players good with DRIVING vehicle. (Note all players use vehicles) Offence. Border men: Players good with close up defense. Defense. Operators: Commanding players. Players with lots of experience. Neutral. Commanders: Very experienced players. Neutral Prophets: The clans best 3 players. Please message me on the forums or send me a message on Xbox. Gamertag: sherlockpj FINAL NOTE: All players MUST have a mic. No exceptions.
