1. Gamer Tag: l0 000 people (that’s a lower case L at the front) Map: Station 07 aesthetic So.... This map is actually a competitive map, but it has so many good aesthetic features that I've decided to post it here as well. I also think its a good example of implementing various features successfully into a competitive map. I really wanted to make a role-play style map, so I really hope you enjoy this and here goes... The Lore: Station 07 is the 7th of 10 experimental Cruiser Class Anti-Air weapons stations deployed on Requiem It consists of one massive thermo-nuclear pivotal gun battery, crewed by a team of five men. The ammunition is too unstable and volatile for conventional reloading systems; therefore an external, manually-operated system was designed for each station. Although there are 10 stations, Station 07 is the most famous due to its hazardous location and impressive kill count, currently boasting the destruction of 3 Cruiser class, and 8 Corvette class covenant ships. Fame however, comes at a price. With Station 07's casualty rate being the highest of all stations; averaging the loss of one crew member every 3 weeks.

3. It appears the is a brand new game type that has been created and THFE (The Halo Forge Epidemic) has the inside scoop on it! Here is a recently released video that teases the view with a glimpse of some game play footage of this intriguing new game type. Take a look.
4. I made a post about bungie's new game "Destiny" and how it could possibly connect to an ancient belief called "The seven heavens" Which can be read here. Oakley HiDef from THFE contacted me to have a discussion about this theory as he was interested with it and wanted make a video about it. Bungie have a history of connecting their video game story's to biblical and mythological events, so for any of you who are interesting with the vast depths of bungie's story telling this may catch your interest. So here is the video about Oakley discussing mine and his theories about Destiny and the seven heavens. A big thank you to Oakley for taking an interest in my post and taking the time discussing it, making a video and sharing it
5. April Fools is one of those holidays where most online communities can't help themselves but come up with something to tease and joke around with the members of their sites. The gaming community being among the biggest on the internet to do so. From fake news to forum pranks, the gaming community always gets its audience. Here are some examples of how the Halo Community got the April Fools mischief out of their systems last week. Our Affiliate Site, HaloCustoms got a few members good with their simple and eye-stinging April Fools Day prank. At first when you logged onto the site you would see bright colors that actually hurt my eyes to look at it in the morning. You could choose color schemes at the bottom which some found to be a cool feature but the original was a real eye sore like I said. Here's what I saw when I logged in: I'm pretty sure I died for a minute. Then I remembered HaloCustoms allowed for the switching of themes at the bottom of the page so I scrolled down and after two attempts I got back to the regular HC skin. As you can see there were two choices. I clicked the "HaloCustoms" style thinking it'd give me the original and it stayed as the horrible colors you saw above. So like an idiot, I went back and clicked it again thinking I must've messed something up only to realize that part of the prank was exactly that. What you had to do what choose the "April 1" style. Not my proudest moment . THFE does a video each year for April Fools to please their fans. Last year they did a hilarious video about changing their name from The Halo Forge Epidemic to The Used Silverware Epidemic and announced that they'd be selling used silverware because video games are bad . You can watch last year's video right here, it's a guarantee must-watch: This year The Halo Forks Epidemic did not fail to entertain their subscribers and fans again with their new update video. This year THFE showed us a new take on competitive gaming in Halo: Professional Flood. Major League Flood was started by Psychoduck's good friend who's a real pro at the Flood gametype XXProSnipesMLG420XX. Find out how you can become a MLF by watching the video below: And as for us here at 343i.org we didn't really do much. We had a major malfunction after Red was doing some site updates and something very private was exposed for all to see on the site. Unfortunately our Staff forums became visible to all members and they even took the liberty to post in them as you can see above. The first to notice was @HollowPseudonym who is now on permanent watch under the Moderators' eyes. Though I must say this wasn't the worst thing that could've happened to us especially on that day of all days. Our real April Fools Prank was staging a fake fight between D-38 Boss and Edward Kenway and then saying they were both shoutbanned (when in actuality it was really only Edward Kenway who was shoutbanned LOL). At least we got a laugh out of this mishap because people got to see what really goes on behind the scenes here. Here's an example of what I mean, given to you by our beloved Site Moderator, RedStarRocket: You see, it's not all fun and games here. Sometimes we talk about the serious stuff too. Twam was actually so annoyed that he just took off that day and was considering not coming back. He made Red the Admin and the rest of us Moderators and just straight up retired. Fishy Sparky Yes it was a historical event on the site. I'm just glad everything is back to normal. It seems everybody did an April Fools Day prank except for us? We'll just have to get you next time members .
6. As previously mentioned in the Second Runner Up announcement, we are grateful to the forge community for their hard work and the number of quality submissions for the contest. We had a lot of fun judging, testing and playing the maps and were pressed hard to make the cut and final decisions. It takes a great deal of talent and understanding of forge, and especially Dominion, to create an environment that has so many standards that need to be met to provide the core Dominion game play as well as interesting map design. Both the Second Runner Up and the First Runner Up winners have done this with an interesting back story that provided the overall aesthetic platform for their maps. Typhoon, by DUN3Z, was set around a crashed ship aground on the rocks and this map was just as creative in design. The First Runner Up is......... by Xinshu Sticky Fingers is based off of a collapsed orbital elevator and features a distinct mix of natural rock terrain and man made structures. The map has a 'rib like' section that brings back memories of Burial Mounds from Halo 2 and the overall use of varying height levels and subtle inclines provides players with a wide array of ways to aggress and defend both the bases and different tactical areas of the map. This was found to be useful when using the rocket hog against the Wraith by allowing for quick skirmishes and then a hasty retreat or as a Spartan laying fire on the bases or strong points by advancing just far enough up an incline for line of sight. The bases on Sticky Fingers are more isolated than normal, but each one offers challenging ways for attacking and defending the capture terminals and the surrounding structures. Overall this map provides solid and interesting game play, challenges the team work needed to win and does so with a unique concept in map design for Dominion. Congratulation to Xinshu for winning First Runner Up! Download Sticky Fingers THFE Feature Video Second Runner Up Announcement

10. On Sunday, February 23, I will be hosting a game testing lobby at 7 p.m. CST. This game lobby will involve one of my game types and one of my map variants. We will test map variants (that have Oddball support) created by members in the lobby with my new Oddball game type, and we will also test some various game types from other players. We will play six to eight matches, and then I will take feedback and criticism. I will then promote someone else the party leader, and will split off to Theater mode. It would be very appreciated if players are not AFK or joining and quitting during games. If you find game flaws or exploits, do not continuously exploit them. All members are welcome to join, and we will have a prep lobby. To join, just simply post your XBL Gamertag and the link to your game types and map variants.

If you provide a range I will always use the higher number. 8 to 16 = 16 (4.) Please don't submit a map that has been finalized and is receiving no additional updates. We want raw, unfinished work still in the testing (or beta) stage. (5.) Deadline for map admission is Tuesday at 5pm. This deadline may be announced sooner if there is a high rate of map submissions. If you are too late for the map admission deadline, you may join the event lobby for testing; at the end of TNT we will pass host to players who want their maps tested. (6.) 16. Stigma By Squally DaBeanz This map began with my desire to build a good Lockout/Guardian style map, since I had failed to do so in Reach. I had built a similarly styled map in the middle of the Ravine before this, but I wasn't satisfied (even though it was a decent map). So, I took the time to compile a list of what made some classic maps such as Lockout, Guardian, and Ascension so memorable and fun to play. Things like the Shotgun drop down on both Guardian and Lockout, the rocket spawn on Ascension, open areas in the middle, towers looking toward the center, and lots of flanking routes (to name a few). I threw these, along with some of my own ideas (like a low lying man cannon that shot players THROUGH the map), into a mixing pot, kept the things that would work well in a single map and threw out the things that wouldn't. What I ended up with was a list of aspects and simple ideas I wanted to incorporate in a single map. Then, I started building... This is by far the most effort I've ever put into a map, and it shows. I hope you all enjoy playing on it as much as I have enjoyed building, testing, and refining it
17. Chronos Chronos is a medium sized symmetrical ring shaped map for 4V4 matches. The idea of this map was to create a somewhat circular map with different "rings" circling an enclosed atrium in the center. The result was a Forerunner themed structure slowly being taken back by nature with various height differences and crossing sightlines through the middle atrium. Screenshots: Download: http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/players/squally%20dabeanz/halo4/fileshare#!/?section=GameMap&SearchDate=7&SortBy=2&view-select=Tile&startIndex=0 Chronos is set up for Infinity Slayer, King of the Hill, Capture the Flag, and Swat. Slayer and Hill played as well as I had hoped. However, CTF and Swat were surprise hits on this map, offering a lot more depth than I had anticipated with those gametypes. The straight shot through the deadly center made Flag surprisingly fun, forcing players to skirt around the edges with the flag. And the varied sightlines through the center and segmentation of the map makes for some great Swat matches. Any and all feedback is appreciated!
18. So I was thinking about this pretty strongly... should 343i include a free, community made map pack? It would be filled with maps for each game mode, and some extra aesthetically pleasing details. The maps might be made by THFE, or they could be by unassociated map makers. I think this would improve community morale, bring players back to Halo, and be lots of fun. Also, they could add these maps to the official multiplayer playlists or even have one of its own. Obviously it would take place on the four forge maps in Halo 4, and they would be equally varied and distributed. I think this addition would be promising. I know that they do already have community maps in War Games, but I'm asking for a full fledged map pack that is treated as so and even includes achievements. Anyways, guys, your opinions?
19. Stronghold Forged by The Fated Fire Stronghold v2 Gametypes: Team Slayer FFA 5 Site Single Plot Extraction 3 Flag Player Count: 8 (4 v 4) Weapon Set: Rockets (180s) 2x Sniper (120s) 2x Shotgun (90s) 2x Needler ( 60s) 2x BR, DMR, LR, Carbine (30s) 4x Frags, Plasmas, Pulse (30s) Stronghold is a rockets/dual snipers competitive map that draws inspiration from Sanctuary and Onslaught. Stronghold follows a two base - two tower - two hut design, with the huts providing an alternative power position to counter the towers, ring two, and the opposite hut. Stronghold hosts a diverse selection of sightlines, from curving lines of sight around the main structures to long, horizontal and diagonal sniper sightlines through the middle structure. Rockets drop bottom mid, Snipers drop in the trees to the right off spawn, and Shotguns are placed in the cave to the left off spawn. Each team has a base, hut, cave, and trees that they can call their own. Sniper and rocket control is key on Stronghold. Instead of putting snipers in the hut like Sanctuary did, I placed snipers in the trees/rocks. This sniper location is very vulnerable and contestable by the other team, and forces the sniper to work his way back into a power position instead of being handed one.

21. Okay, we have been teased with video clips of the new game type "Conversion" for a couple of days now and finally Psycho Duck has released a completely detailed video on the game type. He discusses the idea behind "Conversion", how the game plays and what gap it fills in the playlist for the community.

23. "Conversion is an asymmetrical, progressive-objective based game mode. It has many similarities to modes such as Invasion and Territories in Halo: Reach alongside a balanced weapon setup and the smooth gameplay of Halo 4. It is a blend of some of the best features from the Halo series and it will fill the void many feel in the series after the removal of asymmetric game modes with Halo 4. While many people have tried to make similar modes to try to recapture Invasion in Halo 4, The Psycho duck and I decided we wanted to create a standardized mode and map type so that many people could become involved not just in playing Conversion, but in making their own maps for it. Because the mode is standardized and the maps designed around it, anyone who has played the game mode could potentially make their own Conversion map. There are 2 completed Conversion maps fully tested and ready to be played right now, both created by Duck and myself, but there are also many more in the works or in the planning stages by other members of the Halo community. The game type is not modded, so for those of you who prefer to shy away from modding this mode is completely legitimate." - Flyingshoe ILR "The first of those maps is Firebase, a medium sized Conversion map set on Ravine. Firebase uses Ravine's terrain in new and interesting ways in order to feel like a completely different place, yet still feel rooted in the Halo universe. Firebase features a Rocket Warthog for the attackers and plenty of power weapons for both teams. Gameplay is fast paced but strategic, and positions of power on the map are often as important to hold as the objective itself." - Flyingshoe ILR Firebase Map Variant Download Conversion Game Type Download <<<<<<<<<<o>>>>>>>>>> "The second map is Colony, a large scale Conversion map set on Impact. This map is much larger than Firebase and more vehicle heavy, with a Rocket Hog, Ghost, and Mantis roaming the map and more power weapons at the player's disposal. Colony flows very differently from Firebase but still follows the same formula, and teamwork and communication are still the keys to victory." - Flyinshoe ILR Colony Map Variant Download Conversion Game Type Download <<<<<<<<<<o>>>>>>>>>>
