  1. Hello everyone, it is I, TDM (also most commonly known as The Dumb Marine). While I have been taking absence for a while, like I always do, I have still been slightly active on Discord, showing tidbits of something I've been hard at work on for over a year... Disclaimer: Everything you are about to witness in this thread is still in development and subject to change! Remember this going forward. Secondary Disclaimer: Modding your copy of Super Smash Bros Brawl is voiding the warranty of your game and console, and while I doubt anyone doesn't have any kind of warranty anymore, I wouldn't say go and totally do this at home. I also don't condone piracy, as I do this with a legitimate copy of the game. Index: 1. Project Details 2. Early Dev 3. Images / Concepts 4. Ideas 5. Other Stuff Project Details: Anyone who has been paying attention over the past couple of months may have seen me posting some stuff on Discord about our lovely man in sage: the Master Chief, but he isn't in a shooting gallery, or a battlefield...well, not the battlefield we're used to. You see, he has been making his way over to the 2.5D fighting dimension of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Project M for quite a long time now. The current gameplan is to make a unique moveset and identity for Chief within the Smash Bros environment, but currently it comes at the cost of Snake getting kicked to the curb...sorry, not sorry, he comes back in Ultimate so it's fine. This project will come with quite a lot of stuff, being a complete overhaul of any, and all Metal Gear Solid assets, being stickers, music, trophies, models, stages, etc, with the end goal to put the Halo universe into the big world of Smash. Early Dev: As you can imagine, not every project starts in a super pristine condition. There is either that very beginning stage where everyone is learning what to do, or alternatively, the one guy working on it at the time was trying to figure out what he was doing while making sure he didn't break the game. Below I'm going to post some very old screenshots I had of in-progress work from 2014. Below you are going to see some old assets, utilizing at the time what I thought was the best direction to go in, using the Master Chief from Halo 4, with stances from Halo 4's multiplayer as portraits and also basing my recolors off of the normal colors in-game, or as I liked it better, Red vs. Blue. Default/Sage: Caboose/Blue: Tucker/Aqua: Grif/Orange/Yellow/Gold: Sarge/Red: Texas/Steel: Church/Cobalt: Of course, I have made some decent progress from these, and I hope you all will enjoy what I've had up my sleeves for quite some time. Images / Concepts: Over time, stuff had really changed. The first thing to go was the art direction I had been moving in. I looked back on Halo 3 and really fell in love with its design once again, which immediately made me think...I should move in Halo 3's direction! So I did. So, with this humble new beginning came the first ever, proper rendered image of the Master Chief...prepare yourself, these babies are HUGE. Now of course, anyone looking at this might say, "hey TDM, I'm sorry to break it to you, but that looks horrible!" and I couldn't agree with you more, but, on the bright side that was just an early concept thrown in there and, spoiler alert, it all kind of went full circle. For me the first task was making these armors fit into the Smash art style without looking too cartoony or anything, which is where the first few concepts for that came in. Concept #1 Concept #2 (Getting closer...) Concept #3 (Warmer...) Concept #4 (That's more like it!) Some of you are likely wondering...what is Chief wearing the Mark V helmet for? Wasn't he in Mark VI during Halo 3? Well, yes, he was. However I really loved the Mark V's design in Halo 3, so that's what I stuck with after painting it accordingly. However, over time more things started to come into the loop. I will show these things down below...now! Armor for you, and you! Some experimental poses followed soon after: Eventually though, they came full circle at the end of the day, and around this time once I had it decided I had finalized some of the armor sets, too. Once I had some of the very important stuff all said and done though I figured it was time for some extra, bonus stuff...which is when I started making various trophies. Description: "A soldier with remarkable luck and leadership traits who can eliminate just about any living creature with any weapon at his disposal. He has saved the human race three times from the Covenant, who have tried to activate the Halo rings. He has also defeated the Flood Parasite multiple times, earning him the legendary status of being deemed a Hyper Lethal Vector, wiping out entire armies." Description: "The CQB Armor is also very well known by it's longer name, the Close Quarters Battle Armor (CQB).It is specialized infantry armor compatible both with GEN1 Mark V and GEN1 Mark VI armor systems. The armor's main focus upon being developed was survivability in close combat, specifically by researching methods of improved joint mobility and K dispersal." Description: "The Mjolnir Powered Assault Armor/Rvariant, most commonly known as Recon Armor is a variant of the GEN1 Mark V and GEN1 Mark VI. The entire purpose of the Recon line of suits was to enhance stealth capabilities of the armor with little or no loss of endurance. It is also extremely illusive, many Spartans having to complete a series of detailed and difficult tasks to obtain the set." [No Image] Description: "Dubbed by many Spartan operatives as the only weapon you could ever need, the M6D Magnum is notorious for its infamous three headshot kill. While it is deemed highly effective against other Spartan operatives, it doesn't seem to have any advantages over the Sangheili Elites, whom are your equal on the battlefield. May the shieldless be wary." Last but not least, a little something I have as well that I likely showed off some time ago. Of course I was going to have a stage...but it changes scenery randomly upon being loaded in. Oh, but that's right! I can't forget two very old concepts. For a short duration of the project, I was working on making project based costumes, such as silly endorsements for soda. These are extremely bad and really not polished, as they were just concept material! Now that we finally have all that out of the way... Ideas: [Will leave this intentionally blank- post your ideas below and post them here.] Other Stuff: [Nothing to show...yet.]
  2. Hey everyone. I know that some of you must know me, the older members at least. I really wouldn't expect a newer member to remember me, given I'm barely here anymore oppose to how much I used to be here in the past. And lately, I've been making more frequent visits, lurking among the shadows of the forum just to see that all of you are safe and okay. Because despite how distant I have gotten I still care about every single one of you, dearly. You guys were all my friends, and I still see you as friends, even if we don't talk often. With this member ranking structure update, I've come back with the goal to get to Legendary status, yes. Who wouldn't have that goal? But I just want all of you to know that me coming back isn't just because of a fancy color and title. It's because I miss this place, I truly do. I miss the countless hours of fun in the shoutbox. The events. The members. The moderators. ...Art week.. The one thing I did for this forum that no other succeeded at. Everything in this place that you can even imagine, because the possibilities are endless with the creativity and devotion of all of you. But at the same time, I find it hard to come back, because as I grow older I'm starting to do different things. I'm starting to get more and more friends outside of my digital life. I have parents that are slowly starting to rely on me, because sooner or later I'll be the one taking the torch. And most of all, I've just gotten so many priorities to the point where I don't know where to start. I would sit here and make another promise to come back, and stay back. But at the same moment, I can't. Because I don't know where my life is going to take me. I just go day by day, and whatever happens is going to happen. I have a goal to try and come back, because I feel that I need to do it for all of you. You all showed me how fun it is to be within a community. And with the time I was here, I was at my peak of happiness. And ever since I left, I feel like that happiness just left. And on top of that, you all are amazing people that I miss being around. Because this place is diverse, and flowing with as much cheeriness and prosperity as possible. And it's amazing how no matter what happens here, that mood maintains. I don't know if this is a thank-you, a speech, or even a declaration of home-coming. But I know one thing, and that is for sure. I should be here, and I should be doing as much as I can to pay back all the respect, and kindness I've received over these two years. But rather, I'm sitting and thinking of what to do, rather than just doing what I should've been doing this entire time - ..Just being here. I owe it to all of you, to be here. Because you all cleared up my dark and stormy nights. No matter how little interaction you had. I will come back, because I know I have to. And I know I've said this before, but at the time I was too incompetent and immature to understand. But now I do, and I will apply as much effort as possible to be able to be here. Not only for myself, but for all of you. Thanks for the wild ride these past two years. And let's look forward to the roller coasters ahead. - The Friendly A.I Here's some complementary art, for all of you.
  3. If you're eager to get your hands on GTA V for the PC, I have some good news for you for next week. GTA V is finally coming for PC, after tons of delays and bumps in the road, PC gamers will at last have their copy to mod and do as they please. GameSpot.com is reporting that the game is on it's final legs and that next week, Rockstar will allow PC gamers to pre-load their copy of GTA V on the PC. They will be able to do this through either Rockstar Warehouse, their own store, or through Steam. The game will require a hefty monitor system and about 65 GB of free install space, so pre-loading isn't a bad idea. The PC version is mostly the same in terms of features, with the exception of mod capability and the new Video Editor mode, but technically, the game will be able to run at 4K, as well as at 60FPS on triple-screen monitors and in shiny 3D. The PC version will officially launch April 14th, unless Rockstar pulls a late April Fools on us and decides to push it back another year. View attachment: gta-5-online.jpg I'm very excited personally to get my hands on GTA V for the PC when the price drops, if you couldn't tell, I love this game, I own the Collector's Edition on my Xbox 360 and re-bought the game for the Xbox One. What are your thoughts on GTA V, will you be picking it up on your PC? Let me know down below! Thanks a ton for reading!

  5. Been on the waypoint forums for the past few weeks only to find that the admins on there banned me then banned my second account! talk about being power hungry one banned me for talking down upon halo 4 other wouldnt even give me a reason .. that forum blows anyone else have trouble on there ?
  6. Does anyone know of some good Forge mods that help improve what can be done in forge? (I need ones that work without modding the console.)
  7. Ok so I am a big halo fan. I love halo, I love its story and I like the idea of no iron sights. There is one thing I want on it though. I want it to be able to be played on the pc. There is many benefits to this idea. One is that halo would get a bigger community. Aside from hackers halo will also have plenty of mods people can use(not on multiplayer of course). Another thing is halo ce and halo 2 were both on the pc and it went great! So I'm wondering why halo isn't on the pc. Why was it cut off from the pc after halo 2? I know that the game was first on xbox, but still. I mean I have an xbox and halo reach is fun! I just would like it on the pc.
  8. Forge Planet- just two words that keep ringing in my ears. The desert, the shore, the jungle, the caves, the meadows, the forerunner architecture, the tundra, the volcano, the mountain, the islands, the human colonies, the ocean, the crash-landed covenant ship... It is the most beautiful place in the universe, all thanks to the Cloud, Only possible on Xbox One. Forge Planet on Halo 5? Is it possible with 8 GB RAM, 32 MB esRAM, 500 GB of storage, Blu-Ray discs, DirectX Tiled Resources and the power of the Cloud? You decide!
  9. Okay, 343, seriously now. I made a constructive, polite, completely non-trollish post criticizing something that I believe you need to address. This post was subsequently deleted without any contact or justification as to why. Considering you've made it so absurdly difficult to communicate with the company, how is one to convey criticism? You've inherited a franchise that I've spent a decade playing. You did a great job with this game, but this is incredibly disheartening. Now you're deleting criticism from the forums, which seems to be the only avenue for someone to contact you? Shame on you. Give me a method to contact 343 outside of the forums and I'd gladly take it. Deleting polite, albeit somewhat negative criticism from the forums is completely unacceptable. I get it. They're your forums. But, it's insanely cowardly to delete a careful and thoughtful post without explaining why, or giving the poster a different method of communicating. Disappointed and angry, Shreepsy
  10. 343 Really Needs to fix the aim bot mods and hacks. I can't find a matchmaking game with out someone who has it.(i am level 40) Its is frustrating to play someone who can 5 shot you every time that has no skill. I also played someone who spawned with a ordnance weapon. This is just retarded If this problem is not patched soon i will never buy another Halo game.
  11. Hey Guise! Narf narf! Now onto a more serious note, I have just watched some Youtube videos about the PAX event that took place somewhat recently. In the video, their were quite a few of the classic emblems ie// Rooster, cowboy kitty, ape face.. and even that weird bug like thing that reminds me of a 'zipping' preying mantis that I used to use as my emblem on halo 2. But personally, since halo 3, I have adored using my Red Vs Blue cross-swords with medium yellow/gold shield as the background. I take pride in having this emblem. It was not actually available in Halo 2, but already I have grown quite fond of representing Red Vs Blue as a big part of Halo's history. Come to think of it, I love the idea of representing my 'Bungie' Name Plate as well. Now I even hope to see Name Plates.. But, I doubt that they will have any 'Bungie' representing plates available. Goodbye nameplates I guess! ______________________________________________________________________________________ How many of you guys have actually grown fond of using a specific emblem to represent your spartan? How about Name Plates? Post and let me know about what emblems you are hoping to see in Halo 4! How would it effect you if YOUR emblem is not available? What would your back-up emblem be?
  12. SO, I would hope that 343 reads this before Halo 4 is released. I had an idea that, instead of making it harder to level up after each level, why not make all the levels even so that you can look forward to regular levels up. Players could make a schedule (if they so wished) and know how many matches they should play each day/week so that they level up. I believe that 343 is taking too much from CoD. Their levelling up gets harder because the player gets better guns each level, we get armour and (eventually) mods. SO, in conclusion, they could just quickly add up the total amount of points needed to complete the 50 levels, divide it equally by 50, and be done with it (They could even make this change optional so that you can decide each time you start the 50 levels again which way you want to go).
  13. Okay, talking to my friend TwinReaper a while ago about the modding community, it's understood that they want in on Halo games without having to deal with the trouble of being banned and what not. I have just figured out a way for 343 to have mods be used in their game without bothering matchmaking, and it will obviously increase the replay value of the game. Since the beginning of gaming history, video games with a modding community seems to last a very long time, just look at halo CE or the elder scrolls games, or even Garrys mod. I think, like the "most downloaded" list, there should be a "most downloaded mods" list. That can only be used for custom games aslong as they do not have copyrighted content AND cannot affect MM and they have to be approved by officials at 343, which means there will not be thousands of mods in the first day, but hey, it's better than nothing. The way players would contact 343 officials to get their personal mod out there and free to download is that they must go to this website, go to something like a drop box where their file is examined and after a few weeks, it can be uploaded to halo 4 by 343I. To activated these mods, players must be in their own custom games lobby, and go to a list in the options menu, where they must check the boxes of which mods they do or don't want to use. Plus, players will not be able to use their own mods in other people's custom games lobbies.. Modders will finally be able to have some effect in Halo 4 and players will always have something new. And if a player is found using content that hasn't been approved by 343, by the power of grey skull, ban his ass. Thus giving the game more replay value, besides, everyone wants to do crazy things in Halo 4.
