  1. Anybody that can't understand what a skill rank represents will never understand why a skill rank system is important.
  2. I like the kill cam but it needs to be improved. The last kill cam is a decent idea I suppose, especially if you're the one that gets the last kill (and even more so if you get the last kill in a close game). It doesn't add a lot to the game, nor take anything away.
  3. Because of join in progress, true win/loss statistics mean nothing now. Almost every person has went in to a game and almost automatically lost. On the other hand join in progress also has it's positives like fixing the quitters situation, but I'm not sure if it's worth sacrificing wins and losses.
  4. I agree about the party issue. Getting the win is all good and everything but I would rather face another team and do it fairly. Facing a one man team or facing a four man team by yourself is not fair.

    BxR in halo 4

As stated in my previous post, the people who call these glitches "cowardly" or skill-lacking, obviously did not know how to use them. It's not just about pressing buttons fast or button mashing to get a kill. In order to perform these glitches correctly, these things took impeccable timing and took a lot of time to perfect.
  6. And you're probably right. After 343 sorts out the kinks people will come back. Halo Reach's gameplay isn't in the same league as Halo 4.

    BxR in halo 4

I would love to see the BxR in Halo 4 but that probably won't happen. To say the BXR takes no skill is an understatement. If it took no skill then obviously anybody could do it and there wouldn't be so many complainers. It's a learned skill. To develop a good BxR, it definitely takes practice and your timing has to be impeccable. Same way with double shot. I played with claw (look it up if you've never seen it) and it took even more skill to double shot while keeping my aim at headshot (pressing trigger with middle finger, pressing X with index finger while aiming with thumb). The double shot takes huge amounts skill to perform it correctly. In my opinion, most of the people who say these things take no skill could not perform these two techniques themselves when the game was out.
  8. Could not have said it better myself sir. Look at the amount of people who played Halo Reach long after release compared to the numbers of people who played Halo 2 and 3 long after release. Halo Reach was an atrocity. Bloom, lack of a playlist ranking system, poorly designed maps, and unbalanced armor abilities drove a large portion of the Halo population away (along with a slew of other reasons). Even though Halo 4 has room for improvement, the gameplay is pretty-well balanced and blows Reach out of the water.
  9. With Promethean vision nothing is really affected. You can't see if an enemy is a one-shot or have any real obvious advantage. Also, map control is still a factor in the game and the guy you see behind a wall, you're probably going to be battling like normal. With jetpack in Reach, map control is gone and usually there is no way to see a flanking jetpacker coming. Any team effort to acquire map control is rendered insignificant and anybody that can press trigger and the fly button can easily get a kill with little skill required.
  10. SR-37 at the moment. I would love to bring it up but college and a job keeps me pretty busy so not a lot of time to play. I expect this to increase after winter break starts next week
  11. I completely agree on map size. 343 needs maps like Lockout, Midship, Guardian, Zealot, etc. Those maps just flat out play better. The imbalance of the jetpack and other armor abilities, along with bloom, were atrocities in Halo Reach, which are just some of the reasons that drove a huge portion of the Halo matchmaking population away. If anything Halo Reach is the one that took 10,000 steps back and Halo 4 is stepping forward now. I'm not saying Halo 4 can't improve because there is lots of room for improvement as you indicated, but Halo 4 > Halo Reach.
  12. Halo 4 is not the greatest Halo but I do thoroughly enjoy it. Even though we disagree with that I completely agree with the main point of your post. People should show a little optimism and just enjoy the game. There are a few changes that should be made to the game which I'm sure will be made accordingly, but despite that Halo 4 is still awesome and the good definitely outweighs the bad. 343 has some improving to do in December for sure but it's definitely not to the point of returning the game. Halo 4 has taken CoD concepts and made it their own but is completely unlike CoD by far.
  13. I'm sure you're right but I still think they should have been there from the start. No problems, I'm still having a great time on Halo 4.
  14. Team Doubles, Team Snipers, and Lone Wolves, 3 playlists that aren't in matchmaking, should have been in matchmaking from the start. There is no reason why these playlist should be excluded. Those 3 are cornerstones of matchmaking playlists.
  15. I think Halo 4 is a great game but I don't see why 343 couldn't think things through before they throw out arguably the biggest game in recent years. You would think they would have matchmaking ready to go from day one.
  16. Throw a nade behind the rock to flush you out? Lol In regards to the OP, Promethean vision is, in my opinion, the most powerful armor ability of them all with maybe regeneration field coming in second. Also, the explosives bonus to increase grenade damage, that should help you out (you want to get the most out of your weapons and grenades). Last but not least, go in team games with a decent team. If you and your team can't help each other out you will get smoked by a pack of double/triple/quadruple team-shotters. Usually when I get killed, it's not because one person on the other team is better than me (a lot of them are terrible 1 on 1), it's because they team shoot me while I'm isolated. Team shot is very important.
  17. If 343 didn't have challenges for one particular playlist, such as earn so-and-so regicides, they would see an unbiased population for the rest of the playlists, which may have given team snipers and the others higher numbers before they removed it. I always see a large number of people in the challenge-related playlists. 343 needs to recognize that this will affect playlist populations before they come to any conclusions. Team snipers is a classic playlist that deserves to be on every Halo.
  18. 43 in team slayer and 38 in snipers (both legit). Definitely lots of practice went into that game. Just learning BxB and BxR took a lot of practice in itself. Modders and standbyers made it pretty much impossible to get passed 45. If somebody in Halo 2 had a legit high level you KNEW they had some skill.
  19. I can tell you right now that the players who never experienced Halo 2 multiplayer are going to absolutely love the maps from that game. Maps like Lockout, Warlock, Midship, Blood Gulch, Turf, etc. are some of the greatest Halo maps of all time. (Kanye voice: "OF ALL TIME!")
  20. I definitely prefer to move around the map and I usually swipe my shots, not a lot of lining up shots involved. Mobile play style = more fast-paced gameplay for everybody that way. Although if I need to I can adjust my playing style to fit the slower-paced stationary style of playing.
  21. What I like to do is kill my teammates after game over and teabag them If I'm in a battle with someone I'll keep going even after the game over. People do it all the time. I personally don't see anything wrong with it.
  22. This is why 343 needs to base the competitive skill rank system on wins and losses for the most part in team games and K/D ratio needs to be a lesser part. There are more important things than K/D when determining how good someone is in team games even though many would like to think so. I think K/D should be a major factor in FFA but I think slayer gametypes should constitute a majority of FFA.
  23. Yea it was a VERY temporary playlist towards the beginning of Halo 3 (the September before you started playing I think). I played it a lot and because everybody only has one life gameplay was ALWAYS intense and you had to play smart. You also had to keep a close I out for the enemy team. It was a great gametype. I would love to see Halo 4 bring it back.
  24. Even though PS3 has a few good games, I would sell it if I were you. It's not enough to outweigh the benefits of an Xbox, including Halo 4.
