  1. I agree Doc. The spartan is athletic enough to sprint and to also make cuts in another direction.
  2. Oh my, I have so many, but the one that jumps out at me is this: In Halo 3 on Valhalla I had a perfect game going. No deaths with 28 kills (2 kills to get the Invincible medal). Under 30 seconds to go. I was by the pelican where that tree and boulder is. Two guys rushed at me at semi-close quarters. I shot one of them several times with my BR, banked a grenade off the boulder to hurt the other. I finished off both of them and I had no shields to spare. A few seconds later the game ended and my screen showed the Invincible medal! What a moment that was. I miss the Halo 2 and Halo 3 days. So many great matchmaking games and great memories.
  3. Aim assist wasn't ever a big issue for me. It's fairly easy to adjust to any aiming system no matter what Halo you're playing.
  4. I agree with you wholeheartedly Ryu. Maybe 343 will pull through.
  5. There are different armor skins and extras depending on where you pre order. Gamestop has Forest armor skin, Best Buy has Raptor armor skin, Wal Mart has Oceanic, etc. Gamestop is including 3 extras now along with the Forest armor skin. A google search should give you the details on what certain companies are including. Good luck pre ordering and welcome aboard the forums!
  6. Since sprint is default I'm assuming you can. Glad to see they are nerfing some of the previous armor abilities to make the game more balanced. Halo 4 needs that balance that Halo Reach lacked.
  7. On my vacation to Florida I got to experience a 20 oz. bottle of the new Halo 4 game fuel and it tastes EXACTLY like it did when Halo 3 had its own game fuel! I sipped that thing nice and slow. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it anywhere in my home state of Kentucky.
  8. I'll be at work Monday until six, go home for a little bit and camp out at my gamestop with 4 or 5 of my buddies around 9ish. Maybe even do a little tailgating lol. When I get home afterwards, I rank my priorities of Halo 4 like this 1. Matchmaking 2. Matchmaking 3. Matchmaking 4. Spartan Ops/Campaign I'll most definitely be playing matchmaking for a few hours with the rest coming after maybe an hour.
  9. I preordered the limited edition at my gamestop about two weeks before they sold out. I believe there is only one limited edition version.
  10. I think there needs to be some redoing on friendly fire and booting as well. There are only so many times a teammate can shoot you to call it an "accident." People will shoot their teammates to no shield purely for their idiotic entertainment and consequently cause a lot of unnecessary deaths.
  11. I love how the maps are designed and how much art and thought has gone into the production of the maps. Haven is probably the one I'm looking forward to the most because it looks like it will promote more fast-paced gameplay. My question is, where is the love for smaller, symmetrical (or at least semi-symmetrical) maps from 343? These maps almost always play the best and the fast-paced gameplay certainly makes things exciting. Maps like Zealot, Countdown, Midship, Warlock, Lockout, Guardian, The Pit, Construct, etc. are all great maps that played very well.
  12. I get what you're saying but a good ranking system such as the ones in Halo 2 and 3 drives people to be better. I'm not shunning anybody because everybody has to start somewhere, but the people who aren't skilled should simply practice and try to get better if they're getting hammered. Players should be matched based on skill so that they can have a better experience and play against players of similar skill, which is the whole point of Halo 2 and 3 matchmaking and a non-existent factor in Halo Reach (which is a main reason why Reach was a massive failure at motivating people to keep playing).
  13. From what people are saying, which includes Ryu's reference, there will indeed be two separate systems: ranking and progression. I certainly hope this is the case.
  14. Yes! I'll be going Blake Griffin on em'.
  15. I think you have a great idea going. Simple and effective. The 3rd rank is the only one that I could see problems with as it may promote people to move around carelessly. People might have a lower rank based on play style, which isn't necessarily camping, but some people do hang back and lay down support fire. Despite that, I like the other 2 ranks. Great idea and great thinking!
  16. This is VERY good news. I really hope 343 comes through with a good ranking system. It should be about time for some info release in regards to this issue and 343 has done a good job of keeping everybody on the edge.
  17. I agree with you completely man. Halo 4 doesn't need to have another Reach system or otherwise people will, once again, pick up the game, get a few upgrades, and quit. Halo 4 needs that motivational ranking system for long-term success. I hope you all are correct in regards to the ranking system being separate from the progression system. There might still be a hope for good playlist ranks in Halo 4.
  18. It's got to be promethean vision for me. It gives the most advantages, eliminates camping to an extent, and makes me feel like superman, or batman in detective mode.
  19. That's true but they've already came out with almost everything else so why stop there lol? If what you said is their primary motive, then they really do know the high priority people place on a ranking system.
  20. Agreed. I just wish 343 would go ahead and give a clear, cut and dry answer because that's one of the biggest issues, if not the biggest issue for Halo 4 matchmaking. Surely they know this.
  21. Thank you for all your help and info. Even though we already have a booting system for betrayers, the xp loss might help with suiciders, but would not help towards good ranking system motivation, which would be disappointing. Until true specifics and questions (including if this is the only implemented system) are answered by Frank O Connor and/or one of the 343 staff, I guess we'll have to keep playing the waiting game.
  22. I also agree with you Force 410.To all people who have the argument of "you know how good you are, what does a ranking system matter?," I'm not going to explain my my positioning but if you would like legitimate reasons in regards to why a ranking system matters, look at the previous posts of ranking systems from myself, Sova, or Force 410 on our profiles. I'll only say that the Halo 2 and 3 ranking systems gave massive long-term motivation as indicated by the numbers of people who returned to to play those 2 games in comparison to the numbers of people who kept playing Halo Reach. With that being said, does anyone know if you can lose XP through this progression system by losing, performing badly, etc.? That might make things a little better. Also, what about this supposed skill ranking that's only visible to the user? I agree with Mr. Biggles in that this isn't what it was brought up to be at all.
  23. Sova you know I agree with you. I need to see how much emphasis is put on winning and performance/skill bonuses, because any new system that doesn't reward players more for their performance/skills, and winning, you might as well call it Halo Reach Matchmaking 2.0.
  24. I hope so. The more medals the better! I hope there's an even larger variation in the medals for Halo 4.
  25. Thank you for making this list! I was having trouble putting the pictures with names and vice versa. I love the new maps but I think 343 needs to put in some more close quarters, symmetrical maps to give that fast-paced, exciting, and constant gun fire type of gameplay. Small, simple, symmetrical maps = the best gameplay.
