  1. Got my xbox back! Send me a msg or FR if you want to play or hangout :D

  2. Sorry I havent behind on replying, I just started a new job and its hard T.T Dog I really feel thats the wrong position to take. Halo isnt the best FPS anymore, Reach was a far fall from glory and other games have taken up the mantle (for now). Those games looked at what Halo did correctly and implemented it with their own style or flair, making themselves hugely successful. Now we need to do the same thing because we are in the same position. We must take what has proven to be fun or we'll fall behind as game dinosaurs, we have to stay current. The ultimate example for me is Search and Destroy from CoD. Its a very unique game type that is incredibly intense and very fun. If halo could take that, and make our version, then we would intrigue other gamers and show that we're learning. Btw, Halo has already done this with invasion. IMO, invasion is based off BF's rush mode, and can be very fun on good maps. Thats what we need to do with other fun things. Steal the best of other games and then make them better.
  3. And allow you to pick up their swords. Its really fun and balanced!
  4. No. People will do their best to find ways to use anything in a game for an unfair advantage, the job of the developers is to constantly patch the game to not allow anything to ruin peoples fun. For most of reach's life, the AA's were exploited in what most players felt like cheap ways and bungie never patched them. Players were frustrated and left because they felt this new mechanic was unbalanced. It bungie had immediately patched them or actually listened to how players felt in the beta, the community would feel very differently about them and you would see complaints like mine or Mmk Shield.
  5. We were agreeing that bloom was in all the Halo games, what we were discussing is how they are different and effect the game in their unique ways. I said Reach is designed around bloom or error angle and I think I need to explain myself better. I did not mean that developers created bloom and then built the game, I was trying to say bloom is one of the core mechanics of the game and most decisions made by players are influenced largely by this version of bloom. I find a serious problem with that as this bloom is not an airtight mechanic and makes players angry and frustrated.
  6. I would like gun camo or other customization, but not gold camo. It would only affect the weapons you spawn with but it would be a cool way to show off your swag. For everyone saying that its CoD like, so? We should be learning from CoD and steal what they are doing correctly and make it halo. Theyre doing that to us right now by taking KOTH and infection and making their own gametypes.
  7. Twinreaper I believe hes talking about matchmaking, thats what most people mean when they mention AA's not being Halo. They were fine in the campaign with the computers using them, but people exploit them and make it not fun for victims.
  8. Highplains I agree with you, ZB is not the way to go. It makes the game way too fast and makes all other weapons useless. Instead Id rather return to the fire rate limiter of past halo games. What I want is 1 more dominant weapon that focuses on skill and other weapons that can quickly kill within their effect range. Yes thats exactly like Halo3 but I had alot of fun with that game and would rather return to it. We have a different opinion about how fast a game is. To me, dying alot does make a faster game for several reasons. It ends quickly, you have more chances to actually do something, and actions have consequences. I believe if your good enough you can cut down on deaths and sometimes not die at all. Thats what makes Halo so complicated to me, Im constantly trying to completely outskill my opponents and never die. Yes thats impractical, but Ive done it before and that is my ultimate goal. And I also agree with you about customizing weapons. Attachments and other modifications would only unbalance the game and make it appear even more like CoD than it does now.
  9. Mystic bloom is rather unbalanced. In the other halos strafing, aim, and grenade placement were equally important and it took all to consistently defeat other players. But in Reach, controlling bloom is the most important skill and it takes a long long time to learn or master. Its really a turn off for the game and is one of the reasons why people left. I really agree with him, I have a 1.8 KDR in halo3 but a 1.1 in Reach because Im so bad with bloom. And Ive been playing it with my friends for an entire year, ive played it more than halo3. Even my friends have this issue, one of them is really good without bloom and can wreck but cant slay in reach at all. It was different if i felt like I was getting better, but I dont after so long.
  10. IMO halo isnt suppose to be realistic. Its suppose to be fun and cartoony.
  11. Good idea man, 343i needs to include folders for our saved data so its much easier to separate and find what we want. It wasnt a real issue until Reach because thats when people have started to download different maps and gametypes.
  12. Wow this guy is on point. Since I havent read the newer books it never occurred to me that humans would find chief again! That would be amazing if the Infinity showed up with advance humans and spartan4s.
  13. Ugh I agree I cant stand countdown or swordbase, but since its so easy to camp or keep map control it gets voted. Hopefully 343i will understand this and give it a lower chance to appear in the playlists to balance that out. But I feel the voting system is rather fair, atleast Reach does have one. Instead of making the top map be the tie breaking, they should have another session with only the 2 choices. Most of the time someone votes on the other choices, so this second voting with focus the lobby much better and make people much happier.
  14. I rather liked the sword block, I thought i was a great addition to halo and balanced out the sprint/sword combination. Plus it not only takes skill or a crazy amount of luck, you also have to finish that person off to avoid the death. Maybe if there were no AAs I would agree with its removal, but right now i would like it back.
  15. AWWWWWW Theyre removing team killing in infection =( but but but it was so fun! And if you were betrayed you almost always ended up as the last man standing. But the changes are amazing! Theyre trying to get users input for updating TS, they updated rumble pit which many players have been asking for, and changed alot of other playlists! 343i is winning over my heart with the love theyre putting into Reach.
  16. I hate to break it to you but people want this change. Its actually the melee system from Halo3 and it allows people who shot + melee to defeat players who try to double melee you. Plus the AR is now a viable weapon in close range, so your in the minority here.
  17. Totally agree with you man, thats why I dislike sprint. Instead of fighting, players can just run away because the time to kill is so long. Its really not that difficult and if you watch top MLG players they do the same thing. Instead Id rather have players try to outskill each other, it makes the game faster and causes people to position themselves better on the map.
  18. Exactly! armor would mean so much more and actually have a purpose!
  19. It motivates people to do actions that influence it. Its a physiological thing, seeing certain actions mean something makes people want to do it. Its like the stars system used in schools for kids, you get a star for doing the right things instantly. Without this system alot of players ignore the objective or other team actions because they arent publically rewarded for them. Btw, Insanebear has been banned from the forums so theres no point in replying to him.
  20. Its the default man, sorry you cant see it but I doubt people are going to change it >_<
  21. First off, congratz on 100 posts Okay on to bloom. Bloom is one of the core mechanics of Reach, the game was built around it and almost every decision you make includes it. So comparing it to the bloom in other halo games, that only affect a few weapons, is strange and shouldnt really happen. They are inherently different and should be treated as such. Bloom does not make you shoot better. Its a mechanic that is designed to make a weapon more inconsistent and inaccurate, whether it has a physical representation or not.
  22. Andrew youve got to understand, many many many people left Halo because they hated Reach. The changes in the TU are making Reach more like the traditional Halos, and if you noticed, people are coming back. The TU made me come back! So your in the minority here, for the first time in Reachs history the population is growing, living dead had over 100,000 players when I last looked, thats more than the entire pop of reach for a few months.
  23. Yeah the killfeed needs to be fixed in Halo4, I play exclusively split screen now because I dont have my xbox and its beyond frustrating to lose a 1v1 because someone died and the text crosses my reticle.
