  1. If you had a button, like on the Dpad, to switch between the two then it would be great! BF3 has the same system, and it makes driving much easier. Plus its fun to see the terrain rushing up into your face.
  2. Yeah im cleaning and adding to this list, which will include the skulls (dont know how I missed them!) Btw, my names not "Drone ultra," think your alittle confused xP Everything on my list is based off improving reach's core. 343i still has total creative license, but mechanics like the killfeed needs to be fixed. And if theres any possibility they see this list, they might just change it and then halo is better!
  3. In interviews, 343i has stated that the game will focus around forerunners. To me, this means we will also have to deal with the flood, as the parasite seems to have survived in every possible nook and cranny. 343i has also said there will be groups of marooned covenant, so we'll get to fight grunts at the very least! But as to the new enemy, I have no idea. Werent they suppose to release information yesterday?
  4. Your right, this should not be happening at all. Sorry that your having to deal with this Dethdale. Is there any way we can help? On a side note, I cannot understand why the credit ban was put in reach. Your rank does not show your skill, so why does it matter if someone is willing spend all of the time earning credits. Also, why would you bother banning AFK people, they obviously dont care about the game otherwise they would be playing it.
  5. Sorry but those ideas are not Halo. Instead it sounds like your trying to mix BF3, CoD, and Halo into a single game. Halo is all spawning with the same equipment and finding better weapons, equipment, and grenades across the map. Basically your rewarded for living by getting more tools to kill with. So spawning will armor abilities or special nades really takes away from that feeling. Also, prone has never been in a Halo game and will completely wreck the idea. But I do agree with you about equipment coming back, I thought they were very fair and a great addition to the game. Just as a pickup.
  6. When you say strategy or tactics what do you mean? Because I dont see players using their AA's with specific strategies in mind. Instead I see most people using the AA's for the most basic reasons. People develop a favorite ability and stick with it whenever its an option. When you play with people for a few games, youll notice they always choose active camo or jet pack or sprint or evade (my favorite) even if the best choice would be a different one. Then, they dont use their ability with a complex goal in mind. People dont play like, "I'll use active camo to control this transition area" or "I can use jet pack to get a great angle on the enemy spawn," instead its "I can use armor lock to avoid death," "I can sprint away from danger when my shields pop," "I can camp the flag with active camo," "I can use jet pack to shoot people from above," "I can sprint from spawn to get the sniper." None of those playstyles use any real strategy and are what the abilities where created for on the surface. Also, people rarely change their AA's during a game. If people were using strategy or tactics to win games, then people would constantly be changing their AA's to try and gain an advantage. Instead its very static, and if you kill a jet packer, chances are your going to get alot of kills from him in the air. This is why I do not want AA's to come back. They dont promote complex play and instead create a very static game. And no, camping is actually not a strategy, its a very poor playstyle.
  7. No. That is too much like CoD and will destroy the core of Halo. I'm all for taking great mechanics from other games, including CoD, but the killstreak reward system is one of the reasons why CoD is so incredibly unbalanced and rage inducing.
  8. I hope so too man. And we do appear to be complete opposites lol. I love the trilogy's campaigns, do you happen to like them?
  9. Its the only reason. If 343i hadnt remade anniversary so well and hadnt made a TU I wouldnt be commenting on these forums. I thought the developers were throwing away Halo, but 343i obviously loves the title and I feel that we can trust them with Halo4. THAT is how important the TU is. Also, many of the changes were beg by fans in the first months of release. Many many many people left Reach and refused to return until their problems had been fixed or the game become more of the classic Halo. If youve noticed, reach's population has doubled.
  10. You must love my posts man xD To tell the truth, I dont like Reachs campaign. I dont like the enemy AI, i think noble team is stupid, I dont like the "action cutscenes", I dont like the jobs they give you, the story is boring, noble6 is boring, and the only level I enjoy playing is A Long Night of Solace. So I just dont pay attention to the campaign at all. Plus, it completely breaks cannon with the books in every way. Ive only met a few people who like this campaign, and most of them are on this forum. So thats why you see people focus on matchmaking, they dont like the campaign and dont bother to mention it.
  11. I am aware of those games, but they did not create a gaming community. I wasnt around gaming back then, but those games are barely ever talked about. Understand, Im in no way saying they were bad games or trying to take away from how awesome they are, but only a small niche of people played them. The fact is, Halo2 was a social game that caused people to get together, it was really the first FPS of its kind. Thats why its so well remember and not because the gameplay was flawless. But have you ever heard people talk about getting together for a DOOM tourny? Or hear people rave about Unreal Tournament? As amazing as those games are they do not have the legacy of Halo2. Halo has a habit of taking what others have done and making it shine. Each Halo really brings something forward in the industry; HaloCE showed console FPS was a fun and powerful genre, Halo2 showed that people want to compete and be social together, and Halo3 brought theater mode. Now I doubt any of these innovations were actually made by Bungie, but they made them great. When HaloCE came out, suddenly FPS were all the rage and many were created, no other game has really done that. Halo2 made cross console gaming a must for any new title. Halo3 made sure that great games had theater mode. And IMO, theater mode is one of the MOST important additions to any game ever, so Halo3 made it the standard of great games. And I'll go so far as to state ODST brought humans vs AI siege games in the titles, suddenly this became an important part of great games. So what Im trying to say is Halo are revolutionary games. Each game brings unique ideas to the industry that became the standard, even though DOOM is amazing you cant look at any of its mechanics and say "That inspired the industry." Halo as a series has changed Shooters more than any other game for any other genre. Thats why I love Halo and am a complete fanboy of it, the trilogy created a new type of fun with every release. I still go back onto my PC and play HaloCE online. I still have yet to find a game where I have more fun with others than Halo3. Sorry, I got off on kinda a tangent, but your statement really got to the core reasons why I love Halo.
  12. I agree with you. Bungie alienated its fan base when making Reach. Its a good game, but a mediocre Halo game. It doesnt deliver the classic halo feel and its population shows that. Now with the TU slowly bringing back the old settings, some people are returning and hopefully 343i will continue to improve on it. HaloCE did a great job of putting multiplayer FPS on the map, Halo2 was the first console game across the internet, Halo3 was the king of FPS and introduced a lot of great things into gaming. Hopefully Halo4 can continue their legacy.
  13. Looks more like a cool wallpaper, what game would put their symbol in the bottom left corner of the HUD?
  14. This has been the dream of Halo players since CE. I doubt its going to happen though, as that would be impossible to balance or make a map to cater to it. Id rather have the elephant back.
  15. The only way I could see this being fair is if all weapons on the map have the same modifications. Like all SMGs are silenced, or all BRs are set to single fire mode. I dont to be in an unbalanced fight because of different spawn weapons, thats what BF3 is for.
  16. How is he wrong? What hes saying is exactly what Ive heard for the past year about Reach. This forum is one of the few places that actually defend the game, until I got here nobody has ever said they truly like it. Ive chatted with Halo3 players who curse out Reach and left it, saying its one of the worst games ever made. Plus, this commentator called it right, Reach almost died until it got a title update. Can we get someone to promote this to another thread to talk about this? Because I still have issues liking Reach and I want to hear someone defend it instead of attack it.
  17. Nice list, hopefull 343i will come snooping along and see it. I really agree with almost everything on your list, especially different helmets having different HUDs. Except I dont want armor abilities back >.<
  18. Oh actually I do agree with him there. I hangout with my friends alot and we always split screen for reach, sometimes up to 4 people. And of course, something happens ingame were one person has to pause and we all have to wait for them. Weve lost games because someone accidentally hit the menu and one of us lost the DMR battle they was in >.< so seeing that improvement from CoD implemented would be great. Also, the killfeed actually writes itself across your aiming reticle, screwing over our accuracy. Which is another great reason why it shouldnt be written in complete english.
  19. Not here to flame just trying to explain my view. The BR is a simple and reliable weapon. In halo3 it is the best weapon for almost every engagement. Its simple to use, but has many levels of skill involved, so its easy to tell how good a player is based on how good their BR is. Overall its just an amazing weapon and when you get your hand on one, you feel like you could wreck the whole team. The no bloom DMR feels like a very sloppy weapon. Since it has no fire inhibitor, it forces the player to spam the trigger as fast as possible, which is a very ugly way to play IMO. It really feels like a weapon that lost its balance since it has no weakness. My main issue with it is no being able to react. Halo has historically been about 1v1 battles, and with the NB DMR it causes whoever gets first shot to win (at the MLG level). This I find to be very frustrating and why Im glad the TU has 85% instead of 0%. I favor the BR so Ive been bias against the DMR from the start and its failed to convert me. Maybe if 343i tweaked it I would come to prefer it instead.
  20. Nice speculation and a great addition to the halo arsenal. It appears this weapon would take a good amount of skill to successful use and would be as satisfying as sticking an opponent or getting a grenade launcher kill. Plus we get to blow more things up!
  21. Part of the fun of them is trying to get away with their long animation. I dont even care if I die, as long as I can successfully perform one its a good game for me As has been said, if you dont like performing them you can just not hold down B. But Halo4 should definitely have an option in the controller menu to allow/disable assassinations. Theyre fun and add flair for casual players.
  22. They MUST bring back the elephant!!! Or some form of it. It was just too fun and awesome! I want a 4 person transport vehicle called a puma. We have plenty of 2 and 3 seaters, but we have nothing that can transport a whole team. Especially in forge when your messing around with friends sometimes you just want to get in a vehicle together and drive off a cliff.
  23. Wait, what do you want again? I cant tell if you want multiple spartans per account or a new pause menu O.o
