Is Microsoft already planning another trilogy after Halo 6? Microsoft acquired 3 domains earlier this week Halo 7, 8 and 9 domains. Let me know what you guys think of all this.

Read below for more details.

By: Tom Ivan

According to

Fusible, the platform holder picked up the domains halo7.net, halo7.org, halo8.org, halo9.net and halo9.org through internet brand protection company MarkMonitor.

Microsoft has confirmed a

Halo 4 release date of November 6.

343 Industries has told CVG it already has "a definite story arc in mind" for

Halo 5 and Halo 6.

A

Microsoft job advert posted in July said the firm was seeking an experienced graphics developer to help create the "next generation of game visuals in the Halo universe" at 343.

Here is a old trailer - Halo 4 UNSC weapons trailer for your enjoyment.

They may have just wanted to make sure that if they do decide to create more Halo's after Halo 6, they already have the domains ready. LOL Have any of you seen the hilarious RoosterTeeth Animated Adventure where Burnie created a website a long time ago that was called Burnie.com, then The actual Country called Burnie asked him for it? Roflmao

It doesn't need to die if there isn't anything wrong with it.

I'm guessing they will make another trilogy, but for now it is probably so some jerk doesn't name something Halo 7.

Know when to end a good series, Halo 7 would kill the franchise.

Yes, it would.

You cant say Halo 7 will kill the franchise when you have no details about it. We are barely going to be getting H4. Who knows maybe Microsoft will give someone else the next Halo trilogy. It would be a good way to bring in new ideas.

I don't know exactly where I stand but I think if they keep new ideas rolling and keep doing what they do best I have no doubt that ill keep playing.

It's like Luke stated before I could. Microsoft is starting up brand protection, and attempting people from exploiting the Halo franchise by starting bogus Halo sites. Halo has become such a household name, that practically anyone who wishes to exploit, trap, hack, or just cause mischief could purchase one of those domains of said type and fly off with it.

Microsoft bought the Microsoft.xxx domain when xxx domains became a requirement to separate the porn from regular sites...so yeah this doesn't mean anything, let alone that you will see any hardcore MicroPorn..lol

For me personally, it's way too early to be putting any thoughts into a third trilogy. I won't even try to speculate about what that trilogy will be about. I don't even know yet what will happen in Halo 5 or 6. Not in the slightest way.

So in order to keep a brain overload from happening, not 1 second of speculation :D

I kind of wish that Microsoft would concentrate a littl bit more at the present, with their current trilogy, since it would seem to me that it's success would dictate whether people would be at all interested in another trilogy once 4,5,6 end. It's kind of jumping the gun for me, but perhaps they really have it planned out already. Who knows...?

Twin and Luke are of coarse correct, but just seeing this worries me. The phrase "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain" applies more in the video game industry then anywhere else.

Every series has its creative peak, which is normally reached after the first trilogy and after that things start to go down hill. You could see it happen with Bungie, the first 3 games were all good but after that they started to falter. First in ODST, the plot isn't as expansive, the gameplay isn't quite up to par, the effort is there, but the spark isn't. Then with Reach you could really see the problems.

This happens to every series. Everything reaches it's peak. For Call of Duty it was Modern Warfare. For Battlefield it was Bad Company 2. The list goes on.

Halo might have another good 3 games in it due to the change in developers, but trying to push a third trilogy would be a huge mistake.

P.S. The difference between Halo and Mario is that you can put Mario in any kind of game and it would still turn out okay (Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, the old side scrolly ones, Mario planet, anything). But what can you put Halo into? Just in FPS really, sort of RTS, but even then you are stretching it.

He's absolutely right, after awhile the company begins to run out of creative ideas, by halo 6 the plot is gonna start to suck. By the time Halo 7 comes around, you'll be wishing they never made it.

Don't believe me? COD is the perfect example of this.

Thats why for a new trilogy a new company might take the reins to bring in new ideas. And COD is a different situation since they try and put it into the "real world" timeline like WWI, WWII, Vietnam, etc. Halo has a bit more space to be creative since it has its own universe.

Its not that I dont agree that companies do start to run out if ideas eventually its just that I think Halo is still good up to 7. After that its really iffy.

Yeah, I believe that Halo will at least go up to 7 but hopefully we get some more games based on the novels :3 At least one or two.

I agree with everything you said, but what most people don't understand is, you have to know when to end a series, or else the newer additions will destroy it.
