  2. Recently I have been playing a lot more Minecraft, and am wondering if anyone on the forums hosts a PC Minecraft server or rents one. I know DocSpartan007 has (had) one, but I was wondering f anyone else has one? There main reason why I am asking is to see if we could organize a community Minecraft playdate on PC. Even If we one play a minigame once in a while (like UHC, or something similar), it would be something else non Halo related that many members can enjoy. Additionally, I have started to look into setting up or renting a server myself, and have found the costs to be a little to pricey for the quality of server in most places. I have found one site which is able to host some massive servers without much lag, and can get a special discount using a promotional code for 25% off (I plan to buy a year). I am looking at the Dirt or the Grass Server, so roughly between $48 to $75 (USA). There server will allow us to create new maps at any time, and can change the gametype and map settings. https://mcprohosting.com/plans.php I am thinking about making a Survival Server, and then hosting special events throughout the year, and hope to host some special minigames and competitions between members of the forum (UHC?) If this gets enough positive feedback from the forums, I would be happy to chip in or even get it myself. I don't want to start this up if there is not going to be much activity on the server or much support. So, what do you guys think?
  3. The main purpose of this poll is to get a brief estimation of the number of existing 360 minecraft players who still actively play. This will determine the types of game events I will make associated with 360 Minecraft. I highly encourage any of you to seek out and direct this thread to the attention of members who have not taken this poll and to participate in the voting scheme as well as sharing their thoughts. From here on this thread, you can share your thoughts but you must also vote. The poll is open to ALL members, including staff. I would love to hear from all of you.
  4. Microsoft has announced a one-day sale for “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition.” According to a report from the Major Nelson blog on Dec. 13, the company will be discounting several skin and texture packs by 50 percent for a limited amount of time. The sale coincide with the announcement of “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” selling 10 million copies since release. The mash-up packs, which were introduced in a recent title update for the open-world sandbox video game, won’t be a part of the deal. Skin Pack 1 Skin Pack 2 Skin Pack 3 Skin Pack 4 Skin Pack 5 Battle & Beasts Skin Pack Festive Skin Pack Plastic Texture Pack Battle & Beasts 2 Skin Pack Natural Texture Pack Fantasy Texture Pack “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” came out digitally through the Xbox Live Marketplace on May 9, 2012 and then to retailers on June 4, 2013. Although the console port does not allow user-created mods, 4J Studios developed the skin and texture packs as compensation. The trial versions of the downloadable contents can be played for free but will need to be purchased in order to unlock the full features. The aforementioned 4J Studios development team is also responsible for porting “Minecraft” to the PS3, PS4 and Xbox One home consoles as well as the Playstation Vita handheld system. The release dates for the forthcoming ports have not yet been announced. The “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” skin and texture packs one-day sale will begin on Dec. 14. Source-Examiner

  7. One of the most anticipated Minecraft Packs, the Halo Mash-Up Pack, has had a recent reveal of more screenshots for some pre-loaded fan-favorite maps from the old and new days. The Minecraft Halo Mash-Up Pack seems to be a block-filled redesign of some old fan-favorite worlds, as Halo Waypoint has shown. According to HaloWaypoint.com, in a short blog update, a short number of old favorites and new beauties will be included in the new world. These include the famous Blood Gulch, Lockout (or Blackout from Halo 3), Valhalla, Halo, Sandtrap, and Guardian to name a few of the multi-player ones, with Silent Cartographer and the Cryptum in which the Didact is awakened is also going to be included. 40 character skins will also be included in the pack, letting us play as some of our favorites from the series, on our favorite maps. As well, music and textures have been changed to make for an awesome new Halo experience on Minecraft. View attachment: Minecarfthalo.png What do you think of the return to our old favorite locations, are you excited to play on Blood Gulch, Lockout, or any other of the additions? 8. Mojang is releasing Witches and Bats DLC during Halloween. There are going to be minor tweaks to sound effects and way wooden blocks are placed. Read below for more details From: http://www.g4tv.com/ By: Adam Rosenberg Mojang's next big Minecraft PC update aims to add witch and bat mobs to the game as well as an assortment of improved sound effects and various other bits and bobs. Mojang's Nathan "Dinnerbone" Adams first hinted at the addition of witches in a recent tweet, a comment that was followed days later by the release of Minecraft snapshot 12w38a, which added the content to the game. For those who aren't in the know, Mojang regularly releases these "snapshot" updates to test out planned content additions in a live environment. It takes a bit of technical maneuvering the get these snapshots working, but it amounts to a sneak preview -- and sometimes a half-fucntional one -- of what's coming down the Minecraft pipe. The witch is a new hostile mob, one that doesn't appear to spawn on its own yet. Bats are passive, spawning at night and in dark underground locations. They sleep upside down and fly away when you get too close. You can smack them down just like anything else in Minecraft, but they don't drop anything at the moment. There is also an assortment of new sound effects along with some tweaks to the way wooden blocks are placed. You can see this content in action in the video up top from Mindcrack's DocM. Witches sure seem like nasty customers. They're quite strong and they attack by chucking negative status effect- and damage-inducing potions at your face. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_H2W-uEYZ_8&feature=player_embedded
  9. Mojang hasn't released a specific date yet for the creative update for the xbox 360, however they have released a video on the creative mode being used. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLnrOdJ3qqM&feature=g-user-lik

To download it, just boot up your game and the patch will download automatically. Here's the full list of fixes and additions: Features Added Pistons & Sticky Pistons. Added Stackable fences. Added Shears – required to get wool from sheep, and to collect leaf blocks. TNT needs Flint and Steel or Redstone to detonate. Redstone wire will now connect to a repeater. Added lighting improvements (brought forward from 1.8.2 update) and snow & rain improvements. Added a save file cache to improve the speed of displaying the saves list. Added ban list functionality to allow players to self-ban from levels they feel contain offensive content. Added a ban list section to the How To Play menus. Added an option for the host to limit online games to only players in their friends list (no friends of friends). Added a seed display to the level load screen (requires existing levels to be saved out again to add the display). Changed the tooltip display setting to in-game tooltip display, so that tooltips always display in menus. Added the crosshair to the list of things affected by the opacity slider. On using the quickselect bar, the opacity of the quickselect, tooltips, splitscreen gamertag display, and crosshair will be set to 80, and will fade back down to the user opacity setting after 6 seconds of no quickselect bar use. Fix for attacking enemies at a different level not damaging them. Fixed a problem causing some save games not to load. Removed Herobrine. Posted @ GAMEINFORMER
  13. Minecraft on the Xbox One gets a release date [uPDATE] The very popular game Minecraft has finally gotten a release date for the Xbox One. The game will be available for download on the Xbox One starting the 5th of September at a price of €19,99. Players who already own the game on the Xbox 360 can choose to upgrade their current game for the price of €4,99. If you rather want to get the game through a retailer you will have to wait untill somewhere near the end of the month when retailers start sell download codes. You can get the discount by showing them your Xbox 360 Minecraft disc. This upgraded Xbox One version will make your world up to 36 times bigger than the Xbox 360 version. Unlike the Xbox 360 version you will start off with the latest updates immediatly. Even downloadable content you purchased on the Xbox 360 will carry over to your Xbox One. You can either play with 3 other friends through split-screen or up to 7 others over Xbox Live. Owners of the Playstation 4 can play Minecraft starting today! (3rd of Sept) Both versions were due to release this August but encountered some delay which has caused it to release this week. UPDATE: So... Apparently the Minecraft Xbox One edition has come to the Xbox Store a day early. Only problem is that it's listed as 114,99 pounds... This is surely an error, but there's still the option to press 'Purchase now'. Nobody has been stupid enough to go through with it... Yet. Will you be getting Minecraft for the Xbox One or Playstation 4, and will you make use of your discount? Let us know down below! Thank you for reading! Sources: nl.ign Eurogamer Polygon

  15. Minecraft Playstation 4 delayed The Playstation 4 version of the popular game Minecraft has been delayed because it 'failed' the final testing stage. It was only last week when 4J Studios announced that they had finished Minecraft for the Playstation 4 and were awaiting a green light from Sony. Today 4J Studios announced that Sony found issues with the game and that it failed the final testing stage. This means 4J is going to fix it and go through the entire process once again. We're fixing, but we need to go through the process again." -4J Studios Minecraft for the Playstation 4, along with the Xbox One and Playstation Vita versions, was set to release this month. But since August is almost coming to an end it seems more and more unlikely that these versions are going to be on the shelves in time. Has this delay affected you in any way? Let me know down below! 17. The Minecraft console editions have now surpassed the sales of the PC editions. The games original platform has now outsold by the apparently more popular console edition. The total amount of sales across all platforms accumulate to a total of 54 million sales! And was officially annlounced by Patrick Geuder via Twitter yesterday. "Minecraft console editions together just passed Minecraft for PC/Mac. And across all platforms we've sold almost 54 million copies." And keep in mind this is without the extra sales of PS4 edition and Xbox One edtition which will come later this August. So there's plenty of more sales to come. The sales counter as of April shows us that the console editions were already almost on par with the PC editions. With the PC versions coming in at 15 million sales. The 360 version coming in at 12 million sales. The PS3 edition coming in at 1,5 million sales. And the mobile versions coming in at a whopping 21 million sales. All these sales have acummulated to 250 million euro's in income for Mojang and 96 million euro's income for Markus Persson (a.k.a Notch) himself. Which platform do you prefer to play Minecraft on? Let me know down below! Thank you for reading! Source Source

  20. Mojang, the developers of Minecraft, have officially announced the release date and other details for it's next generation version of Minecraft. Minecraft was one of the most popular titles on the Xbox 360 when it was released, and the PS3 version sold very well alongside it, and now another edition of Minecraft has been announced. According to Xbox.com, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will be releasing this August on Xbox Live, with the later disc version not announced as of yet. As well, you can transfer date from your Xbox 360 version to the superior copy, with skins and maps making the jump, but some skins will require some patience to be added back, as a few were left out. Upgrading will cost $4.99 USD, and can be done via disc or digital account. 21. Halo is coming to MineCraft: Xbox 360 Edition! Halo Waypoint's Twitter tweeted the above photo earlier today along with the caption: "Yes, this is happening. #XBLA" Little is know about this other than the screenshot above, but it appears to be a Halo themed Mash Pack- DLC for Minecraft that features music, various re-skinned blocks and items, and character skins. (Similar to the Mass Effect and Skyrim mash packs previously released.) From the screenshot above we can see that whatever the content is, it will likely feature UNSC Computer systems, sand bag barriers, a needler, and a Halo ring that spans the sky. If this is a Halo themed mashup pack, you can expect it to cost about $3.99 USD. Though little is known at the moment, you can expect to see more on this in the coming weeks, as we look towards what will likely be the first Halo mashup pack for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. What do you think of this news? Would you buy a Halo themed mashup pack? Be sure to leave us your thoughts in the comments section below. SOURCE: TWITTER/HALOWAYPOINT
