  3. Hey guys I've been playing alot of Halo 5 recently. I am a Onyx in arena and I can't stop playing. I've recently gotten a gameplay on Fathom CTF against all Onyx and Champion players.... We had good map control, but I feel I got alot of unnecessary kills with the rail gun. If you guys want to have a look feel free to check it out below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwdWr8k-VZQ
  4. The vast majority of my points below equate to: Why have you shipped a half finished game? Why did you change something that worked well to something rubbish? The answer to 1. is fairly straight forward, and endlessly disappointing. A cynical decision was made to gate content available from the start in previous titles, behind a long, randomly resulting grind, OR let people skip that with microtran$action$. This is also clearly the reason one of the most popular game modes – Big Team Battle (BTB) – wasn’t released to begin with, because then nobody would spend additional money to unlock access to weapons and vehicles in the shite that is Warzone. The company might as well be rebranded to £4£ Industries Hurry the -Yoink- up and release BTB and have access to weapons and vehicles as standard on the maps, not behind the req system. The req system itself works fine ‘within’ a match. I like the idea of the more kills you get unlocking more powerful kit. I don’t like that I can’t then use that kit without having previously spent money or points on crappy booster packs. Radar – what separated Halo from sprayfests like CoD was tactical radar use. The current incarnation of radar is a joke. People appear behind you from nowhere, and with no time to react before dying I might as well play CoD. Not being able to save up for specific unlocks. Given I’ve already slated the concept of req booster packs, I understand given the money involved they are unlikely to go away, but at least put in a system of being able to spend your req points on specific items. Infection, King of the Hill, Oddball – PUT THEM IN ALREADY Terrible spawning – spawning in the middle of a firefight, or in front on the enemy team is not cool. PvE in PvP - sucks balls, remove it. NO ONE wants to be killing crappy AI bosses in the middle of a fast paced FPS fight. This isn’t Alterac Valley. Split screen – I’ve extensively played and owned every single Halo title (except ODST). A large amount of the fun I had was multiplayer campaign, and PvP in the same room with friends. I’ve not even entered campaign mode on Halo 5 because of its removal. The matchmaking lobby – why have you removed all the functionality from previous Halos?! WHY?! I want to be able to browse the other players, their achievements, see what armour they are wearing, and which ones are using a mic! Achievements – on the note of achievements, at least let them unlock some cool stuff (oh no, that might reduce microtransaction sales…) Carnage report – let me see the damn medals I got! Service tag – I’ve used the same three letter service tag since they first came out. WHY?!?!?! Have you locked them to four characters?!?! Make it three or four. Asymmetric battlegrounds suck – you should attack AND defend in sequence, as part of a single battle.

  6. Halo 5 CSR explained, commendations and medals revealed In a recent blog by Josh Holmes, we get educated on the new and improved CSR ranking. The Competetive Skill Ranking, or CSR for short, is your rank within the Arena experience and determines who you'll be pitched against. If everything goes right that should be opponents within your skill range and this ensures you that you and your team won't be annihilated by higher levels and that you won't stomp on lower levels. Just like we saw in the beta you'll have to complete 10 placement matches that determine what rank you'll start off as. Since the beta there have been a couple additions to the ranking though. Below you'll find all the ranks through which you can progress (or drop). The ranks Bronze through Diamond are pretty straight forward. Win a couple of matches and you'll progress in ranks. Notice that I said 'win matches' and not 'be on the top of the leaderboard' as being the top player on your team doesn't mean a thing to your CSR, only winning does. There is the chance that you'll drop a rank after losing too many matches but we are assured that you won't drop an entire rank by going on a bit of a losing spree. For example, if you've been working towards that Silver rank for who knows how long you won't be dropped back down to Bronze just because you weren't having a good day. The Onyx and Chapion ranks behave in a different way. Once you reach Onyx, your CSR score will be shown to allow better comparison between players. Winning no longer increases your tier, your CSR score does. Once you reach the top 200 within a playlist you'll be placed in the highest tier, the Champion tier. All shall quiver before thee! Later in Halo 5's lifespan seasons will be introduced. It looks somewhat like the seasons we had back in the Halo Reach days. When a season starts your CSR will be reset and you'll have to play your placement matches again to be ranked. This allows you jump start your ranking and prevents you from being stuck in an what seems to be endless progression through the rankings. Of course, you can also fall a bit short but do not fret as there is always next season. Reaching a CSR ranking within a season also makes you eligable for a neat cosmetic award, no matter if your Bronze or Onyx. Think of it as a souvenir. First thing we'll get is this emblem: Each time a season ends 343i will update the game based on your feedback. So don't stop complaining! Join in progress is disabled in Arena to prevent you from being placed in losing games and losing a rank as a result from that. Quitting is frowned upon and if you decide to be a bum you'll not only suffer a loss and forfeit any EXP or REQ points earned that match, you'll also recieve a temporary ban to think about what you just did. Betrayals, idling, intentional suicides and excessive disconnects will also earn you a ban of which the length is determined by how heavy the offense is. Each successive infraction will increase the timeout exponantially so don't you even think about it Spartan! What are your thoughts on this ranking system? Let us know down below! Thank you for reading! This post has been promoted to an article
  7. Are you tired of getting matched up with uncoordinated, screaming children with dirty sailor mouths? Are you looking for a slightly-more-mature Spartan Company with adult dirty sailor mouths? We've got you covered. Join the Retired Killers! We're an active clan of ~30 casual (but dedicated) adults looking to expand our membership. About us: We've been a clan since the early Halo 2 days, with many of the original members still playing. We are all adults. Some of us have children. Some of us have wives. Some of us are wives (at least on the weekends). We are serious about playing, but we still love to have fun. We require that you are located within the continental US, are over 18, and have a mic. If this sounds like something you're interested in, request an invitation! We'd love to have you! Be forewarned. There will be **** jokes. Lots of **** jokes.
  8. I'm sorry if this topic is on this forum but I can't find a solution, my problem is this... Since October 27th I've been trying to play halo 5 multi-player but I can't. The game give this message : Could not find a server that was suitable for all member of your fireteam. My NAT is OPEN and Im not banned, tried to talk with xbox support and they sended me to waypoint and nobody knows what's happen. Somebody can help me? Sorry by my bad English. Tnks
  9. I'm not talking about earning REQ points, I'm asking: During Warzone, does the entire team's REQ level go up together or do you unlock REQ levels personally? Also I've noticed that when I use an XP boost during Warzone, in the loading screen for the next game I play, it still looks like it is active. Do XP boost cards last for multiple games or are they 1 time use?

  11. This long-awaited instalment in the Halo series finally sees 343 come into their own with a host of gameplay additions, but does it all come together to convince us this is Master Chief's finest outing?
  12. First off I would like to say Hi to the community. This topic is about how the Halo 5 : Ranking System is broken. I have logged over 10+ hr on halo 5 multiplayer and talked to a lot of other players in the community about how I feel and they feel about the Ranking System and it brokeness. Lets look at facts. From what I understand about the ranking system is that you need to look up your status and over all rank in Halo Waypoint. If you dont know how it wroks then please go there and look up your own status and follow along. There is your K/D stats. The emblem off to the left of your K/D is your RANK stats that show after your 10 games of playing. Then there's your SR rating (equivalently to your lv in multiplayer.) The ranks go in this order "Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Onyx, and Champion." So now we know the rank progression. lets look at how we Rank UP. Note; not LV UP like SR rating. You Rank up on if your team wins or not. That is how you are personal judge on whether you win or lose your rank. How I know that this is true is because I watched my Rank lv go up and down from wins to loses. That will be the blue ring that moves up or down when you win or lose. Please look after all games it will change from half a bubble or little more if your team won. Note it might cange from Slayer to any other game mode. If your ring is 1/2 of the way and lose then it will go to 1/10 of the ring but you will not lose your rank if you lose again then it will. If it is the frist time your are in that rank then you wont at 1/10 of the ring . If you are 1/4 or higher. If you win your ring will go to 3/4 but it might be different from rank lv to rank lv. Also wanted to tell you if you leave a game for any reson. You will lose all the way down to 1/10 unless your there already. So now you know how the ranking system works. My View point about ranking system and how I think the 343 team FAILED and OVER LOOKED THIS or does not CARE: First off all players in any multiplayer wants to know their PERSONAL RANK.Not the teams. The team at 343 should of learned their lesson about how players like to advance in multiplayer from their big YES big mess up in Halo 4. Buy the Deluxe edition you get 1 month to pass all the poor people up.(sounds like a total way to scam money from the community.Mabye not a month but pretty close to it.) Yes 343 I remember it still to this day and will not forget. Now you want to rank me with others,so I have to pull their weight to, AKA (Piggy Backing). Thats not fair to the other players. FAIL FAIL FAIL . I know I am not the best player in any way shape or form. But I know how ranking should work and the way you have put it in this game was a fail. But it is not just a fail in my book but a EPIC FAIL.So this is my feelings about this broken ranking system of your.If I was the person in charge of this it would be my first priority. I dont want to just focus on the bad about the system but there is nothing good about it so fix it. If this is how you feel and want 343 do something about this problem then please comment and place your view point or if its not then hey comment and place your view point down here. This is BloodLustLegon signing out...
  13. TWF ('Together We Fight') Federation is a spartan company which has been created to allow players to join a competitive Halo 5 Clan and participate in competitive matches against rival companies. As the leader of TWF I have had past experience of competitive Halo and have decided to create my own company. We are looking to dominate our rivals and become one of the most notorious Halo companies to exist. But I can't achieve that on my own. I need fellow spartans by my side. If you wish to join the TWF federation then you first have to meet a few requirements in order to keep everyone around the same skill level. Players MUST be over the age of 14 Players MUST have some sort of xbox microphone Players should preferably live in the UK (due to timezones) Players MUST be mature in the way they play and also the way they communicate with others Players are not particularly judged on skill as long as your decent with past experience. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING OR HAVE ANY QUESTIONS THEN MESSAGE iBradyy x ON XBOX LIVE TO PROGRESS FUTHER Players WILL be promoted to a higher role if they participate well against our rivals. Hopefully you are interested in joining this competitive halo community. -LEADER OF TWF 'Together We Fight' Also the link to the Company is here- https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/spartan-companies/twf%20federation

  15. How to Bring the Heart Back into Halo In recent years it seems everything has to be as dark, dismal, depressing and "realistic" as possible. Ever since Nolan's Dark Knight revitalized the Batman franchise in spectacular fashion after the abysmal failure of Joel Schumacher's goofy Batman and Robin flop, it's been an unescapable pattern in nearly all entertainment. After Batman Begins came out in 2005, Halo 2's fantastically optimistic ending lead to Halo 3 (still a fantastic game) ending with the best Halo character aside from Chief in my opinion, Johnson and Miranda Keys dying and MC floating into the void on a broken ship. After losing his last living human friends, in Halo 4, Cortana a ROBOT somehow died due to the lack of an ability to update her software essentially like the craziest Siri ever made and now in Halo 5 we have to hunt him down and kill him. Now, I have high hopes this game doesn't go the darkest route possible and force us to brutally beat one of my favorite heroes of all time since I played Combat Evolve on launch day when I was 6 years old into the dirt, but if they do, I'm honestly considering giving up on games in general. Right now there is a racist daddies boy multi-bankrupted billionaire claiming to be paying for his own campaign while taking twice the donation amounts he paid from corrupt donors like every other politician. The polar ice evaporating into the atmosphere is causing catastrophic weather phenomenon unheard to human civilization since the last ice age which flooded my entire town 3 times in the middle of summer. We're also already considering going back to war with the same people we were fighting for 13 years for zero reason at all. We get it, life sucks, but entertainment is supposed to be an enjoyable escape from that fact, would it hurt to have someone crack a joke or a smile in a GAME once in a while? Aside from that the few gameplay related suggestions I have involving Halo, though I'm unsure if these have been implemented or brought back again regardless are these: Please bring back duel wield, it was one of the best editions to the series, it made useless guns like the plasma pistol useful because you could use it to take down shields and then take down the rest with a reasonably powerful weapon. Please bring back split-screen, online only is taking a toll on the entire gaming industry and it is one of the worst trends in its history. Just one game of online multiplayer uses up to 20% of the total internet data I have for the month where I live and no one I know prefers online to in person couch co-op. I know I'm complaining a lot here, but I really did enjoy Halo 4 more than most as far as I've heard, mainly for the campaign which has always been my favorite part of Halo. The only draw back with that is that if I can't play couch co-op Halo campaign anymore like I have with every single one for a decade and a half the series is practically pointless to me now. Also, bring back the classic score, one of the only complaints my friends and I had with the last Halo campaign, aside from the QTE finale, was that whenever something epic was happening we kept waiting for that amazing score to kick in and when it didn't it was extremely underwhelming and just left everybody saying "that's it?" You've done a lot of good work with the expansion of the lore, the new weapons and enemies types, but please don't start following these mindless modern gaming trends and bring back what made the series great rather than adding what would make it just as generic as everything else. Thanks to any of the 343 crew or anyone else who bothered reading this far and have a good one. It won't take a lot to bring the series back to its former glory, just a bit more old school mechanics, a bit less new school nonsense. Peace.
  16. Halo 5 commendations and medals revealed In a recent blog by Bravo we get the full list of commendations and medals along with a sneak peak on how the medals will look like. Commendations are returing as a reward system for achieving certain feats. Each commendation has 5 tiers and every achieved tier earns you an EXP bonus. Completing each 3rd tier of a commendation will reward you with a bonus REQ pack containing boosts and other single use REQs. Completeing the 5th tier of a commendation will get you a REQ pack containing a specific emblem to show off your achievement. Here's the commendation list of day 1: Medals are also returning as expected and have suffered a few losses, but gained alot. Bravo interviewed multiplayer designer Max Grossman on the new medal design. Here's a little snippet of the interview: "When we look at creating a new Medal, we have to make sure it satisfies a few rules. A Medal needs to be an explicit action that a player can perform; rather than something that can “just happen.” Players should have a clear idea of what it is that they did to earn the Medal. For example, we removed the Reload This Medal because it didn’t satisfy this criterion. Second, a Medal needs to promote good behavior and should never reinforce a negative action. You won’t see the Comeback Kill Medal in Halo 5 because it reminded players that they had died 3 times in a row without getting a kill. When a player is playing poorly, they already know; they don’t need the reminder. Lastly, a Medal has to have akiller name. “Bulltrue.” “Overkill.” “Reversal.” I always like to imagine Jeff Steitzer’s (the infamous multiplayer Announcer) voice in my head whenever trying to come up with Medal names. For as many new Medals that appear in Halo 5, there are just as many that we tinkered with during development that didn’t make the cut." ~Max Grossman Read the full interview here. And here's the list of medals: (Sorry for the ugly lay-out, the site wouldn't let me upload it any neater for some reason...) We also got a little sneak peak at some of the medal designs. I've listed them here: What are your thoughts on the commendations and medals? Let us know down below! Thank you for reading! This post has been promoted to an article

  19. Hi guys, I'm completely new to this forum so please excuse any mistakes. I recently read the topic concerning the Master Chief and his process of losing Cortana, and whether or not the upcoming games will become more psychological than the others before. I loved the ideas and do hope that it will change the way we see him. I'm about to write an article about that topic and for that, would love to hear some other opinions concerning some things. The extreme masculine image of the Master Chief and his training to become more or less a "heartless killing machine". Would you like to see him more as a human, see the cracks in his facade and maybe even face psychological illnesses like depression? What do you think about the other playable characters? Is your interest in the game lessened because it's not just about the Master Chief, or are you interested in seeing some other faces (some already known like Kelly) I'm a big fan of the books and I'm really sad that most of the lore didn't make it into most of the games. I'm thinking about the process of becoming a spartan (like in the upcoming shortfilm) and all the horrible consequences and things they have to face. Would you be interested in a prologue kinda game, where it is all about the history? (just thinking about the setting in general) Sooo, I do hope I get some interesting answers because it's always interesting to think about games a little bit more "human" than we do most of the time.
  20. I made a Halo 5 rap from the perspective of Master Chief I hope you guys enjoy
