  1. Sure this is down to opinion, but which Halo Soundtrack do you believe is the best? I only recently began paying more attention to the music in each different game, and there's some nostalgia behind them all. Some of them are powerful, well-composed pieces that really define Halo, and war all together. Please vote for your favourite album in the poll. Also feel free to share your thoughts on each track and any favourites you have. Thank you. Edit: I am referring to the full albums, not an individual track.
  2. Hey guys! Here's something I've been on the edge of releasing for a while now, and I reckon now is as good a time as ever. Being the video game enthusiast that I am, I've always loved the Halo series. And the music nerd in me has always loved Marin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori's soundtracks from the original Halo series. Now that I am doing more film scoring, I only seemed natural for me to write my own opening music for the New Halo 5. Something to push myself, and something that I enjoy all in one. I'm also up for letting everyone use this in their Machinimas, as long as I'm properly credited. If you want the raw music file for this use, contact me directly, either through email or youtube. i'll send a file without the opening cinematic sound effects! Awesome! Here's the jump: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OE4d-mEERw Awesome! Thanks guys! Enjoy. -Wil

  6. Hey guys, So i've always been a pretty die hard fan when it comes to the soundtracks for Halo games but recently with the release of Halo 4 Soundtrack vol. 2 I've found myself with a little bit of an issue.. My issue revolves around a specific track that is found playing in the background of the 4th terminal in the campaign (Flood). This particular track really moved me. It was deep, well balanced and compelling. It always managed to send a cold chill down my spine. Additionally this particular track sounded VERY similar to the track "Legacy" in Vol. 1 of the Halo 4 soundtrack. In fact i could almost say that they are exactly the same... but... it seems as though a rather large chunk of the song was cut out when it made its way onto the soundtrack. Specifically the part of the song near the end of the terminal video. As evidence I submit this: first listen too the terminal video focus on the background music then listen to the actual track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5NDbTjwpVk I literally listened to the two videos side by side and i couldn't tell which video I was hearing, with the exception of the voices of corse. Then about 60 seconds in they split. Can anybody tell me what the deal is? Maybe where i might find the version used in the terminal?
  7. Okay, halo 4 was a great game and fit the series perfectly. But the main problem I had when playing through the game was the soundtrack, I couldn't get over how bad it was, this let me down because in the past all the halo games have had phenomenal soundtracks, the songs would go with the moment and make you feel emotion towards what was happening in game, and not even in game I was let down by the title screen the most, if you go back to the halo 3 title screen and the music playing in the background it showed how deep the story was and it would connect with the player, and halo 4 was more emotional that most other halo's so shouldn't the music be the same? instead of some woman screaming at you on the title screen or music that sounded like it was from star wars playing in some of the main parts of the game? I hope that the game developers see this and think about how much passion those songs put into the game and that changing them will ruin the series if they keep doing it.
  8. Today the second Volume of Halo 4's soundtrack is released! it includes all music than didn't fit in the first and all of the tracks sound pretty awesome! If you want to enjoy them, here is the playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLymBCArRbeVWmhhWdzL8hPDXk_LUFgZi2 What's your opinion on Volume 2?

  10. So i wanted to start a thread on the score to Halo 4 and what potentials Halo 5 could hold. I know there are mixed emotions regarding Halo 4's soundtrack. Me personally i like some elements and some not so much. There are only a couple of pieces for me that are really memorable. I think the soundtrack to Halo 4 stands for what it was meant to, which is to give an identity to the unique and awesome nature of the Forerunners. It feels alien and has the techy feel to match it. That being said it has nothing nearly as memorable as Breaking Benjamins Blow Me Away, or Reach's, soaring anthem. I would like to see a re-imagining if you will of how Bungie approached the soundtrack to Halo 2. Bring in some bands again to really dig in and give it some meat. Those were songs written by fans of the game. People who really enjoyed the story and just plain got it. I kno wthat 343 really wanted to create this large epic movie styled story, but for me there was no music in game that really got me pumped. That made me want to jump off my couch and be all like "hell yeah" take that you split lipped ba$&*rd$. Sound off marines.
  11. As the tittle says, what's your favorite soundtrack in Halo 4? Mine are 117, Arrival and To Galaxy.
  12. Hey there, I have the Halo 4 Special Edition Soundtrack Box Set. I have a question though; I inserted the first disk that comes in the Making Of Halo 4 Music book -the Didact symbol disk, into itunes and it wanted to import, that's fine 'cause thats what I want it to do. My inquiry comes in when iTunes gives me a window that says that it has found multiple versions of the disk.. "Multiple matches were found online for this CD. Please choose the correct one." "Halo 4: Original Soundtrack (Standard Edition) - Neil Davidge OR "Halo 4 (Original Soundtrack) - Neil Davidge so, which one should I choose?? Or does it not matter? This particular disk holds 15 tracks.
