  1. I have played the original Xbox multiple times through friends since about 2004. I played on the Xbox 360 for the first time about May of 2007, on a Halo 3 special edition xbox 360, playing Halo 3. I played it on and off at friend's houses until Christmas of 2008, until I got my current Xbox 360. I played GameCube since 2001, and played computer game before and during that time.
  2. I must say, if you've never played A Game of Thrones the board game, you need to play it.

  3. Here's why Halo 3 worked: Balance, and an amazing campaign. Bungie took a balanced game, Halo 2, and changed a few things, and balanced them. There was minor bloom, but there was balance. I could predict what would happen next in a battle if I did certain things. Halo 3: ODST also was about balance. Halo 3's campaign has a very high replayability factor, not including skulls, terminals, and easter eggs. No joke, I can turn on my Xbox, and play through the halo 3 campaign twice in a row, on any difficulty, with or without friends. Halo 4 and Halo Reach has a little of this, but I don't feel the need to return to those campaigns every once in a while. Back in 2007, and the three years of development of it, and even further back, the thing the sold video games was the campaign. Very few people played games online, due to lack of consoles and bad connections. If you make a balanced campaign, typically the weapons were decently balanced for multiplayer as well. Now, the main focus is multiplayer, and in most multiplayer games now, there is incredible imbalances, why? Because if I know that I can get a powerful gun and mow people down quickly, I will feel good, and want to do it again. But if I am playing a balanced game, I would lose most of my battles, and be mad and not play. I happen to really enjoy balance. If I know that the reason I died in a game is because of my skill and decisions, and the other player's skill and decision, I can accept that. I can accept being destroyed, although I may not be happy with it. Team work is key in balanced games, and working together, ie a warthog, was an advantage if used right. Now, everyone plays lone wolf, and there is very few times that most team work is thought out. I can go into most objective games in Halo 4 with a friend, and win multiple times in a row, just because we work together. If I look at where things are with Halo 3. Halo Reach, and Halo 4, I would say 343i has taken two separate paths in matchmaking. There are many elements of Halo 3 in Halo 4, but the imbalance from Reach is dominate. My suggestion and hope for the future: make a wicked campaign, make forge better, and make multiplayer balanced, and if needed, take out things inserted in Halo 4. I want to see a "classics playlists which is balances, and a Infinity playlist, which is more personalized.
  4. I remember these in the shoutbox, especially last summer. Name: Sikslik7 (creative right?) Weapon of choice: Battle Rifle, back up magnum Race: Spartan III Ability 1: Spartan enhancement Ability 2: MJOLNIR 5 variants armor Ability 3: Technician, can fix just about anything, given time Bio: Part of the Spartan III Lone Wolf program, and went missing during the attack on Reach while defending on Anchor 7, presumed dead, UNSC official record reports MIA. Actually escaped by hiding on an attacking Phantom, hitching a ride back to a cruiser, which jumped away from Reach before it could be sabatoged. Later came to Earth during the Prophet of Regret's attack on Earth. Special weapons unlocked: Flux Capacitor: Ie the thing used in Back to the Future to travel back and forth in time. Basically I am able to, once per round, rewrite the person's post above mine, so it would change the events to something else. For example, if someone's post was about them smashing my skull in, or sneaking up and knocking me out, I could rewrite and alter the event so that I would win the combat. But I have to use it directly under that post, so if someone else got a post in before that, the first post is safe from my ability. In order to use the ability, I start my post with something tk the effect of, "Sikslik7 uses his ability to go backing time and alters the events of the above post" in big bold letters. 5. So when I click on anyone's profile page, and read their statuses, the Twam symbol appears next to the date. Does that mean the statuses are Twam approved, or is Twam just copyrighting them?

  6. Great post! It's always a useful tool to have a list of objects when planning a map. Also, when putting in the costs, put in the limits for each section, (ie building blocks - 100)
  7. First off, if you are the huge Halo fan that you claim to be, you would know that this is only a fan-made community site, not 343i's site. Posting on Halowaypoint.com, 343i's site, would get 343i to look at your opinions. Second of all, If you want 343i and other people in the Halo community to read, and consider what you have to say, I suggest you fix up your grammar and spelling. Your post is one giant paragraph, and seems just to be a rant, nothing more. If you think out and structure your post, it would go a long ways at getting peoples attention and swaying them. That, and running your post through spell check would make it much easier to read, and would help convey your message clearly.

  9. Welcome to the forums! If you ever need any help, don't be afraid to ask! Also, as a fellow forger, I would like to personally invite you to the forum's community forge project, found here: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/28568-the-343industries-community-forum-forge-project/
  10. So, where is the oddest place/ how you have accessed the forums? I have accessed it from multiple locations, and multiple odd set ups. My oddest was on a road trip, using my friends ipod touch, connecting through the wi-fi his phone was transmitting, in the middle of the rocky mountains. We were also streaming netfix movies using his Wii. We die this all in a car while traveling too.
  11. Well, here's my list: Call of Duty: Simply I enjoy playing it, but I don't feel the need to go play it, or play it seriously. I screw around in most games, just trying to be the guy who pisses everyone else off on the other team. Supersmash Bros Brawl: I loved the first two, but I felt Brawl was only about having the best character. It the others, there was that element, but it wasn't that important, any character could win. Temple run, and most other handheld/ipod games: I just don't find stooping a button over Andover, or moving my thumb back and forth on a small screen enjoyable. If I am going to play, I want a larger screen and a controller or keyboard.

  15. Yeah we better get this fast, and spread it in our own time. Once multiple people on various forums have it, they won't be able to stop the mod!
  16. I hope that Destiny comes out sometime between the end of 2013 and June of 2014. I just want Bungie to have the game finished when it comes out, and have lots of stuff ready to add in the months after release.
  17. I could conceivably do voice acting, as if for an inanimate object or a narrator of some sort. Probably won't be able to do body acting though. Any type of file you want it in?
  18. Yeah, I don't know why 343i would go back and change things on Halo 3 now. I can tell you that if there was an update, we'd know about it. So yes, definitely fake on both accounts.
  19. I understand your frustration. I have been out into many losing games, however, more times I am put into a new game or a game where the team I am on is winning, or it is a close game. However, your frustrations are aimed at the wrong location. Thins is a community fan-made forum. If you want 343i to witness your frustration, post on halowaypoint.com, 343i's site.
  20. Hey, it's the mods! When did you guys do a music video?

  21. Yes, it is very misleading to have the title of the playlist Infinity slayer and have Slayer Pro in it. 343i has not been the best with managing playlists in either Reach or Halo 4. Hello, where is BTB that you promised us months ago?

  23. Map Name: Refuge Current Version: 1.2 (Updated 6/19/13) Forge Map: Forge Island Gamertag: sikslik7 Player Count: up to 4 player FFA, 1v1 or 2v2 for RvB or Green v Gold Download link: http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/games/halo4/fileshare/details/05258231-2334-4e54-ba6f-71e6fcace022 Overview: Description: Refuge is a small symmetrically turned 1v1 or 2v2 map that focuses on tactical jumps and continuous movement. There are two floors, with each having distinct bonuses to control. Team work is key, and control of the top does not give an unfair advantage. The bottom consists of many broken sightlines, and is a great way to transverse the map and get around your opponent, but is also a very playable section, and many conflicts erupt there. The top is more open, and more combat flows here. there is always a way to flank an opponent, but running is never a good option. The sniper spawns in the middle of the map, on a jump from the bottom to the top. Teams rush here at the beginning of each match to gain an early advantage. On the sides of the map are pulse grenade spawns, which are very effective at redirecting map flow temporarily and are very effective at countering and flushing out the sniper. Gametypes: Slayer Suggestions: Play with 110% jump height, all other options normal Ordinance, if any, should reflect 1v1 or 2v2 games Play Green v Gold for different starting spawn Weapons on Map: Initial Ordinance: Sniper (1): respawns every 120 seconds Pulse grenades x2 (2): respawns every 60 seconds Other weapons: BR -1 extra clip (2): respawns every 45 seconds carbine - 1 extra clip (2): respawns every 45 seconds DMR - 1 extra clip (2): respawns every 50 seconds Pictures: I apologize for the picture quality, Halo Waypoint is not allowing me to download new pictures, so I used an old capture card of mine. The overview was the only good picture I got. Center, with sniper spawn: Center, other angle: Spawn: Spawn, from side: Second floor, center: Second Floor, center: Side, from second floor, Pulse grenade spawn on platform: Side, of second floor:
