  1. Would anyone be up for some map testing Saturday around 3pm EST?

  2. How are things going? Also, where is the Machinima going to be uploaded to? Your channel or somewhere else?
  3. Well, spawning always depends on the type of flood you are making. If you are forging a linear flood map, you should use a flood teleporter room, with timed spawns for each teleporter. That way flood can spawn safe, and then choose to go where ever they are needed. Just a reminder, flood should never be able to get into a room before humans, unless they overrun the humans. Instead, make the last twenty seconds or so of each holdout area more hectic by giving the flood a new, closer angle of attack. Other types of flood, including holdout and Nazi zombie maps use this style as well. Even some free roam flood maps use this strategy.
  4. First, trials do not allow you any special event codes or anything else that you get for playing on a certain date or doing a certain thing. Second, the unlock codes that were sent out in November are no longer needed, as everyone can get those specializations once you hit level 50. There should now be ten options instead of two.
  5. Can I ask Choot'em to make a map for me and then I place one piece and submit it as mine if he says he is ok with it?
  6. Well, you have to complete it when your live isn't expired, sorry! Good luck doing it again!
  7. Actually, all of aim assistance and magnatism is all there, it's just you are looking at the wrong things. The killcams are off, and really badly off. I've tested them myself and others have too. The problem is the camera angle differs. The player camera angle that we play from is directly above the right shoulder of each spartan. There are multiple reasons why this is so, but the main reason is so when you get shot in the face, your vision isn't just of bullets and flashes. The camera angle of the kill cam is in the head of the spartan, but keeps the other information (ie gun location, reticle, shields, etc.) in the same places as before. So if you still don't understand what I mean, here's a demonstration. Take a sheet of paper and roll it into a tube. Place it on the right side of a table, and look through it at any small object a few feet away. Now move it as far left as you can go before it falls off the table, with the same angle as before. Then, move over and look through it. It shouldn't be pointing at the same object.

  12. Well, I wouldn't doubt if one day Halo Spartan Assault comes to the xbox. However, there are multiple reasons why SA is not on the Xbox at release: 1. Fan base. There are many who will want to get the game, just because it is Halo. There are many people who bought xbox's just for the exclusive games. Most fans who would go out and buy an Xbox just for Halo have already done so. 2. Old console. The Xbox 360 is going to be replaced by the Xbox one very soon. The 360 was very successful in sales, and is the largest of PS3 and the Wii. Microsoft isn't looking for profit on the game, but on hardware. When the Xbox One is released, SA will probably appear there soon afterwards. 3. New hardware. Microsoft wants people to buy new consoles, phones, tablets, computers, and software produced by Microsoft. These products are new, AMD will generate lots on continuous revenue, and will expand the reach of Microsoft into new fields. Microsoft can't milk the 360 for money much longer, but the new stuff, they can.

  15. Question: did you buy and download the map pass with the MS points? If yes, the two helmets will also be downloaded.

  19. I am willing to host a CFP Forgedate pretty much every Wednesday for the next couple of weeks. Starting time would be roughly 11am EST. We could forge CFP maps, look at maps for inspiration for our maps, test maps, or help people tinker with maps. Who's up for it?
  20. What if Steve Jobs rose from the grave and bought Halo? Oh wait, we'd have to wait for the second of his Halo's to get a good game.
  21. A couple of months ago 343i announced there were no plans for a second season of Spartan Ops. Based on the end of the first season, I don't think a second will arise, as it sets up perfectly for Halo 5. With Requiem gone, it would be hard to make a second season. However, 343i also didn't plan on making more map packs and other things, so, there is a possibility of a second season, however, I believe that if there is one, the events wouldn't be as pivotal as the first season. I think the missions would be more random like the first couple in season 1.
  22. Hey, when is shooting of this going to start? I can't wait to see this all put together.

    Help?

Although I'm not the best Halo MLG player, I do know some simple things that can make you better, without playing anyone. The key is practice, and knowing more than your opponents. Know the game: 1. Load up the gametype and play with your friends on the maps. Look at all of the settings for the gametype. 2. Figure out some basic strategies for each map and gametype. 3. Loom around for strafing tips, aiming, and movement. 4. Learn how spawns work, and the spawn system. 5. Watch some Nak3d Eli's "Breaking Halo," as he goes through many secrets about the game, and some basic things to consider while playing. He will reinterate most of this, but you must also go in and play with the stuff yourself. Know the maps: 1. Walk through each map on you on, playing the gametype. Learn shortcuts, tac jumps, lines of sight, weapon placements. Learn common spots for grenade throws, and practice them. 2. Go into forge and know the spawn times of all weapons, look for kill zones, and the spawn system. 3. Develop and learn call outs. 4. If you can, find an outline of the map, and just sketch out shortcuts and weapons. You can learn and memorize maps very easily this way. Know your teammates and opponents: 1. Just look at other players during the game, and look at old films. You can learn their mindsets and strategies, their knowledge of maps, and their playstyle. You pick up things you have missed and may learn of good ways to do things differently. 2. Play with the same people frequently. If you have a team, its much easier to do well and develop a good team strategy. 3. If you end up facing a clan or someone who posts footage online, watch it, and pick apart their playstyle.
