Post Your Halo: MCC Matchmaking Issues Here

Hey guys.

 

Does anyone else use legacy thumbsticks? The ability to use them in Halo 2 multiplayer and Halo 4 multiplayer and campaign disappeared with an update (so I can only play Halo 3 multi ATM).

 

I waited for another update thinking it would be fixed (new update yesterday) and the problem persists. Maybe 343 dont know... So heres my question how do we make them aware of the problem?

The thumbsticks did kinda screw up in the latest update, expect it to be adressed ASAP.

I think it would be an awesome idea to bring back Team Double like in Halo 3. I think it would be a good idea because plenty of people play in groups of two.

 

More playlists will be added as soon as the game is fixed

Since the last update at the end of every game I have to start the search again...........gets stuck on the after game report every game!!?? The patch made it worse.......if that was possible!!!

 

It is true that you'll be set back to the menu after each game. This is due to severe problems when consecutive sessions were still in place.

The game report takes a tad long from time to time, have some patience and only when you're sure it won't continue reboot the game.

Matchmaking still not perfect, can only get games in certain lobbies.

 

All playlists should result into matches, some take longer than others due to population differences. For the quickest results I suggest Team Slayer and Anniversary Slayer.

I'm not sure if 343 will see this, but can you please give us on option to put between halo 4 swat or halo 2 swat, everytime I get a halo 2 gam I will leave, because halo 2 swat sucks compared to halo 4, Halo 2 shouldn't be played in swat. please take this into consideration

No this is not the official 343 Industries site and they will not see this.  However, I find your complaint about Halo 2 laughable.  Halo 2 SWAT was one of the most played and revered gametypes.  As far as mechanics, physics and maps there is absolutely no difference between Halo 4 and Halo 2 swat.

Well Halo 2 SWAT does have some hitreg problems. Halo 2 in general has that without the dedicated servers...

Last night I shot a guy in the head 3 times with a Sniper Rifle in Halo 2. I saw the little yellow marks that I hit his shield but the damage wasn't dealt! He was even standing still for crying out loud!

Same thing happens in Halo 2 SWAT more often than not.

As to what your saying ppl act like I can see your point. But you need to realise that this IS THE MACHMAKING FORUM for posting the issues with matchmaking. Not campaign.

 

Not true. The topic title reads "Post your MCC issues here" this includes all issues that come with the MCC.

Wether this is Campaign, co-op or matchmaking doesn't matter.

Dear 343i,

 

I'm sure you know by now most of the garbage issues that comes along with this game. I personally never complained about or joined a forum just to do so but you forced my hand. I really appreciate the fact that I can finally play Halo:CE on Xbox Live. Something I've personally been waiting for. The fact that you put in the PC version of the game is kinda lame first off. The Physics and glitches on there are terrible compared to the original console version. Now that you finally came up with a dedicated playlist, I want to know, why we can't join up with a full party? If your're going to allow 3v3 wouldn't it make sense to allow a party of 3???? I feel like 343i is catering to Halo 2, 3, and 4 players, and just throwing in H1 for the hell of it. Also is there any way you could completely separate the games, and within the games have a playlist? For example, I choose online multiplayer, then choose a game such as Halo:CE, then I get to choose from a playlist that includes Team Slayer, Objective, Big Team, 2v2, FFA, and what have you.... Please for the love of Xbox fix this game! Thank you for listening and enjoy the rest of your holiday season. Oh and by the way. Fixing the game that we paid for would be alot better than receiving a free remake of ODST. Quite frankly I could care less about that game I just want the Halo:MCC to work with no or very little issues.

I was getting into matches fine until the latest update that adds spartan ops. Ive gone from 1 minute waiting times to 5+ and half the time ill get the fail to connect message which restarts the search

Anything posted here should just be a general "Heads Up" in terms of issues and problems you are experiencing.  No one here can help you with patches, accounts or game related issues.

Focus on fixing the multiplayer before working on ODST guys. Youve done some good work the past month but its still far from being a smooth experience. Half the time its laggy as hell which makes me think were not on dedicated servers most of the time. The spartan ops update boosted my wait times to 5+ minutes. Map rotation seems to recycle the same maps over and over. Hits dont always register. Finding matches should be your priority though, if we cant even get into good games after all theres no point

The only multiplayer mode that works decently for me is H3. H2A is a laggy mess that takes forever to get into a game that is hardly playable. I can't even get into a game of anything else which is upsetting because big team is my all time favorite. I can not get the complete a cross game playlist achievement in campaign either. Being a fan since the original xbox days it is very disappointing to see what 343 is doing to my halo. It also looks like they are trying to copy COD even more with H5. I absolutely love all things Halo but I am considering not even getting H5 with the way 343 is treating the franchise.

I suggest you take a look at your own connection before you blame it on the game. I've seen no other complaints matching your description of only H2A lagging out.

If it's not your connection try to reinstall the game.

I've had the MCC for over a week now and have only gotten into one matchmaking match. I've attempted, no exaggeration, at least 100 times and every time, except for once, it just continually searches for players...says it finds players...then goes back to searching for more...never loads anyone into the lobby...just me, sitting there by myself, for sometimes a half an hour at a time... I just want to play some multiplayer...

Okay, there is this one bug that might have happened to a few other people, it's where your're in a matchmaking lobby searching for a game, say H2TA, and you leave the search to search for another game, regulation right?

 

No, now it's stuck on the menu, with "loading matchmaking" down the bottom right. Now I can't control anything, it's still stuck there, I've tried turning off the Xbox, tried selecting options, but I can't do anything, any suggestions?

I have had to hard shut down my Xbox twice because of the leaving matchmaking problem. I am not sure if it caused my Xbox to have corrupt data and that is the reason my rank got reset but 343 should give me my rank back for their incompetence.

 No, we didn't get four games for the price of one. We got one "collection" that doen not work the way it was advertised to work. And yes, I doubt 343 will spend the time needed to fix all of the issues because they didn't spend the time to fix them before releasing ths sad excuse for a product. I have spent more time downloading updates than I have playing games since purchassing my XBone on 11/11/2014.

 It has now been well over two weeks as you suggested it would be and my game experience has not improved. I can't party up with my friends, I have to wait at least 10-15 minutes for a match and the lobby still collapses after every game.

 Finally, I didn't buy this game to play old campaigns. I bought the game so I could enjoy the awesomeness that was Halo 2 & 3 matchmaking.

 Oh well, if nothing else the MCC saved me money by killing any interest I had in purchassing Halo 5 or any other future 343 titles. And hey, I know it's not their fault. AC Unity, COD AW and many other titles have launched as little more than betas. The fact is that Microsoft is no longer concerned about providing a quality gaming experience on their TV PC device.

That collection is the same as the four games. And if you doubt 343 will spend time fixing the issues, the proof is already against you. They've been working around the clock releasing updates that, for a while, didn't help. But now? Now the problems are mostly fixed. 5% of the population still has issues, but the rest have been finding games just fine with only a few tiny bugs.

 

I did underestimate the time it would take them to do this. But it's worked for the most part and I fully expect it will continue to work until the remaining 5% can play matches too.

 

Oh, and the Halo 5 Beta matchmaking is oddly working perfectly for everyone including the people MCC's been screwy for. I don't know why that works flawlessly and the rest still has some bugs, but hey, it's perfect matchmaking to the same degree any Halo has ever been. And it's a new experience that will let you give 343i feedback on stuff. Go for it. I do want you to have your fun.

 

On the note of not buying the collection to play "old campaigns" each one's been updated in lighting and water effects, given new achievements and easter eggs, and Halo 2 in particular has been given a complete graphical overhaul to the point it stands as the best graphics you can get on a console, and that's in gameplay. The graphics in cutscenes are elevated even further. Even if you couldn't find matches at all, the MCC's campaigns alone offer enough new experience to keep you busy a few months. Not a single one is truly an "old campaign" because it's been remastered to provide a superior experience. ESPECIALLY Halo 2.

 

If, between the MCC matchmaking in its current, albeit somewhat flawed state, the perfect Halo 5 beta matchmaking, and the four campaigns with all the new content they have to offer, you cannot have fun with the MCC, it's not that the game is boring: it's that you are.

 I have been sitting in BTB looking for a match for HOURS....HOURS.   I just want to play the damn game I paid for. I thought they fixed all the server issues? I am loosing faith in 343i

Since this morning I have not been able to look at anything within my player ID which is very frustrating. I want to know what I need to do for some things to unlock them and change them such as nameplates and avatars. If anyone can give me any advice on how to fixed this it would be much appreciated.

Note: I have power cycled my Xbox taken the game out and played something else and tried later.

I can't seem to get any multiplayer game to start. I have the most recent update but everything just sits there. I've tried Halo 2, 3, Team Slayer, and SWAT all with no luck. Does anyone have any ideas?

Having issues creating a Party with my friends. Every time we set one up and begin to search for a match, it will fail to connect, and kick him out of the party when it restarts the search. Another issue is that I can only be the Party leader. If my friend is, he cannot select a matchmaking game in the "Find Game" menu, because it will say "One or more players are not ready". This was a minor problem before, but it blew up to be a problem to where I can't even play with my friends.

Well connectivity issues seem to be a very large problem within the MCC in particular from what i have read previously.  It could be as simple as connection, or even a faulty game install on your friends end.  He should attempt to uninstall the game, then re-instal and give it a go.  If that still fails to solve the issue, then you will want to take it up further over on Halowaypoint.com which is the official outlet for 343i. 

 

However, try searching the forums here a bit and see if anyone else has posted something similar with a solution.  that's my best advice man.

Long time online halo player, bought an xbox one just for the MCC, horribly disappointed with matchmaking. I only played halo two for the online matchmaking, didn't play the campaign for a year because I was having so much fun playing online. They put all this time, money and effort into remaking the campaign, great, so what about the beauty of halo? Which is the online multiplayer, Oh we'll remaster a few maps, not all of them, and there will only be 2 or 3 playlists, no CTF, because everyone always pics slayer, no bomb game, no objective playlist, I played team objective on halo 2 for like a year and a half straight, love the CTF because there's more thinking involved than just shooting peaople, I played like 10-12 hours a day back in '04 and '05. Well I've had an xbox one for about a week now and still have yet to play one flag game, all it is is slayer slayer slayer. Well slayer gets old for me after a while. 343 should have put all that time, money and effort into remaking halo 2's multiplayer, not the stupid campaign. After all the multiplayer is most of the reason why so many people bought the game in '04 in the first place. Like what don't you get 343? If there is not a CTF playlist in halo 5 I am going to be soooooo pissed as will many of my xbox live friends that I play with.
