The dead came back to life, roles reassigned, all ready to try to give this new city a chance. The world is young, and full of new opportunities, both for the Mafia and the civilians. The new person nodded to the GM, "It's time for you to have some fun yourself, take a break, and join in the world you first brought into being. I can take it for this world, but the position will always be open for you to take afterwards." The GM replied, "I don't know if I want to play, I really don't know what I want to do," but he handed the Staff of Infinite Power to the newcomer. "Go, have some fun, the Staff will be waiting for you when you want it again," the newcomer told the GM, touching him on the shoulder, and smiling. The GM brightened, and strode into the new world, looking towards the future of possibilities. The Newcomer then bellowed across the city, I am Sikslik7, and welcome to the third Forum game of Mafia. For purposes of reference, this shall be known as Mafia 3.0. If you are unfamiliar with Mafia, it is a game of Civilians versus Killers, similar to Halo Clue. The Mafia know who the other killers are, and try to kill off the civilians, while the civilians try to kill off the Mafia through lynching a random player each round. Gameplay: Players with a special ability will receive a PM from me, explaining their roles and how to proceed. Civilians with no powers will not receive a PM. 1. The First phase occurs at night. Players with a special ability will PM me what their decision for their role is, if they choose to do so. They will have 48 hours to submit their decision, then I will post the applicable results. 2. During the first round the Mafia will choose someone to kill, and one of their own to do the deed. They can kill one of their own. The Doctor chooses to save someone from being killed, including him/herself, but can only save the person if they guess correctly. The Detective can learn the identity and role of one player each round. 3. If the murder fails, or if it is successful, the Daytime phase will begin A suspect list will be posted, which will have a list of 5 players, consisting of the killer, and four random players, one of which may be a Mafia (so max 2 mafia in any suspect list). 4. Every live player votes within 48 hours. At that time, the player with the most votes shall be executed, after reading their final words (sent to me by PM). But can you trust those words? During the Daytime Phase players with a one-time ability can play them by sending me a PM. 5. The next Night phase begins. General Rules and abilities: . You may screenshot anything you wish, and post in the thread, even if they are edited. . PM other players to figure out other roles and further your plans. . You may accuse others of roles and lie within or outside of the thread. . You may reveal or lie about your role. . Do not use this game to earn out of game awards, gifts, items, or services. . Follow the forum rules. . Do not request a role. . Everyone votes during the daytime, as long as you are still alive. . If you are dead, you no longer can play a role in the game. You cannot vote or activate abilities, Factions: Pro-Town: These players win by executing the Mafia. They consist of: Civilians (Infinite): Only votes during the daytime. No other powers. Doctor: Sends me a PM with the name of someone to save each round from the Mafia. Votes. Detective: Sends me a PM with the name of someone who they want to know the role of. Votes. Mayor: Acts as normal civilian, but vote will secretly count as 2 votes. Jail Keeper: Has a one-time ability: After voting is done, can PM me to save the person from execution, and starts a Night Phase, without killing someone. This player is not revealed. Votes. Witness: Has a one-time ability: After suspect list is posted, can send me a PM to remove a name from the list, preferably early in the voting. This player is not revealed. All votes cast for the person can be recast. Votes. Mafia: These players win by killing off the pro-town with nightly attacks and at the polls. They consist of: Mafia (1/4 of players): Decides in a group PM who to kill and who will do the deed. They can kill each other off. Votes. Newblood: Plays as a normal Mafia member, but if he is the last Mafia member, they may recruit through persuasion a new Mafia member from the Civilians. He may decide to use this as a bargaining tool for civilians or with other Mafia to stay alive longer. Recruit (1 possible): This player retains all abilities if they join the Newblood (providing the other Mafia are dead). They will play as a regular Mafia member now, in addition to their other roles. Suggestions: Trust few, lie to the rest. Pick only a few people to give your real information to. Be on the lookout for people posting to a player constantly. There is potential for civilians to help Mafia, even if they don’t know it, but they could also save an important civilian as well. Likewise, as a civilian, you could end up joining the Mafia. The Mafia can gain from trying to convince a player that they are the Young Mafia, and extract in-game favors in return for a possible win scenario. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I will try to keep the game open to as many people as possible, but will cap it at around 30 players. I will give people a few days to sign-up, and then start the game. Roles will be determined by me drawing names out of a hat. It was too peaceful, and needed to be more chaotic. He delivered mail to a few citizens, with their job and objectives for the slaughter to come. A world of opportunity awaits in the third city crafted from the mind of the host. Now it it time to see the results. The host cried, "Havoc!" and released the Mafia into the city. Who will kill, who will save, who will switch, who will reveal themselves, who will reveal others, who will condemn the innocent, and who will be victorious, the five Mafia, or the ten civilians? Those players are: Therubyprincess, Aiden Pearce, Yang, and Yoshi. People who are exceedingly likely to receive important roles are: Ledgend1221, Tyrone King, -Exia, and Caboose.
