  1. With the Announcement of Halo 5: Guardians and the release of it's teaser art has come a lot of speculation about Halo 5 and descriptive reports regarding the art. (If you haven't read it yet, you should definitely check out RedStarRocket91's breakdown of the Halo 5 Teaser Art-HERE) As you can see in the art above, the Battle Rifle has a different scope. Now, if this means the Battle Rifle has been redesigned or if weapon customization is a new feature in Halo 5, we don't know yet. I would like to see weapon customization come to Halo 5 in the following ways: WEAPON SKINS I think that every loadout weapon should have at least 5 different skins to choose from. These skins should be unlocked by completing specific commendations with each weapon. Example: Battle Rifle: 1,000 Kills = New Skin 5,000 Kills = New Skin 10,000 Kills = New Skin (Gold Skin) 1,000 Headshots = New Skin related to headshots 1,000 Assists = New Skin related to assists WEAPON ATTACHMENTS Weapon attachments should be handled carefully. Weapon attachments can greatly affect the way a game is played and the outcome of that game. I feel that with weapon attachments, players can feel more involved and grow closer to their weapon. I don't think they should alter the game significantly but rather, serve more as aesthetic features. Weapon attachments should be unlocked at a rather low level, SR-5 or SR-10 and should continue to be unlocked every few levels. This should include attachments similar to the following: Red Dot Sight (Optimal for medium range) Reflex Sight (Omptimal for medium range) Iron Sights (Optimal for short range) Sniper Scope (Optimal for long range) Buttstock (Aesthetic) Grip (Aesthetic) Bipod (Aesthetic) Bayonet (Aesthetic, but should be implemented in Assasinations) WEAPON EMBLEMS AND CLAN TAGS This is a feature straight out of CoD, but one that I think Halo can benefit from. It doesn't affect gameplay at all, but again, it would be fun to see your emblem appear on your weapon. Unlocked at SR-15 or SR-20. Emblem Clan Tag Those are my opinions on how weapon attachments should be implemented into Halo 5, but I'm really curious as to how you feel about it. Do you think that weapon attachments should be added? How about weapon skins unlocked by completing commendations? Be sure to leave your thoughts on all of this below!
  2. Hello all, I have just written an article on Halo 5, all about rumours and speculation. I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at it and give me some feed back, Thanks! Please PM for the link!
  3. TL;DR - In think that the new forerunner weapons in Halo 4 weren't interesting and were just laser/energy versions of the human weapons. The incineration cannon was interesting and the scattershot was different but I hope that Halo 5 can offer some new, creative and iconic weapons. So yeah. I didn't like the forerunner weapons in Halo 4. Some of them were fun to use like the incineration cannon but none of them turned out to be iconic like the needler. My hope is that we get a lot of new creative and iconic weapons in Halo 5. I'm not saying it's easy to come up with iconic weapons I'm just saying 343 shouldn't hire any more designers who worked on the TRON movie. Most of the forerunner weapons are essentially laser gun versions of the human weapons. This in my eyes is lazy. To be honest the names for these weapons are pretty bad too (boltshot, scattershot....???!!). Halo Reach, the last game that Bungie worked on, had some nice examples of creative weapons. The grenade launcher (pro pipe), plasma launcher, the DMR (sem-auto rifle isn't necessarily inventive, but it was for Halo and developing 'bloom' was for sure a challenge), and the needle rifle. I love how the needle rifle richoches off of almost everything. The grenade launcher from Reach being by far the most creative edition of the game. It's like Bungie took the noob tube from CoD and made it into a viable thing to use in multiplayer that is actually fair and versatile. Truly brilliant m8. What do you guys think? Here are some of my ideas for what could have been interesting weapons: 1. Some version of an EMP type weapon/launcher. Kind of does something similar to a pulse grenade except more easy to use and powerful. How about an automaic weapon that shoots rounds which easily deplete shields? Plasma weapons sort of already do this but it could be a power weapon that is similar to this from crysis: http://crysis.wikia.com/wiki/K-Volt I can see a weapon like this being huge in competitive play. One guy in the front pushing forward and spraying out shield depleting blasts while the rest of the team picks the enemy off from behind him/her. 2. Damage over time weapons. Come on, we're talking about forerunners here I'm sure they can do better than laser/heat-based weapons. How about biological weapons that kill you over time? I feel it would be super cool to have some sort of forerunner sub-machine gun, like the supressor but more accurate, which shoots out rounds that go straight into the opponents health. It would be a power weapon of course. But instead of making it sound like a gun the rounds would have to look, feel and fire a lot more interestingly. I know that's vague but....yeah. So when you hear this gun basically you run or kill the guy weilding it from a distance. It would be very distinct. 3. Some sort of a gun that moves physical objects. Ok we have the gravity hammer, what's the next step? How about some sort of a device which can latch onto a vehicle or object and the player can use the analog buttons to toss it into something, or hit a button to push the object forward. Some sort of a splatter machine. If you tried to move a player, instead of being able to throw the player like a ragdoll (would be super annoying) it would just deplete some/all of the player's shields instead. The amount of time that would be allocated to you in order to move the object between picking it up and letting it go would be very short. Just a second or a second and a half. So you could latch onto something and toss it right after. Would make it less over-powered that way. 4. A complete killing machine. The incerineration cannon is powerful, same with the binary rifle. However neither of these weapons quite live up to what I imagined forerunner weapons to be like. I don't think anything 343i created came close. I believe it would have been possible and it is possible to implement a forerunner power weapon that is rare to find on maps, hard to use but totally iconic and satisfying to get kills with. Something OP but with very limited use. It would shoot out multiple flying arcs of energy....That crack and richoche on surfaces. Basically a gun that could shoot lightning out of it, forerunner style. The lightning would kill anyone in impact but it would be quite hard to control when fired in a general direction. The bolt of lightning would last about 1-1.5 seconds allowing the player to subtley drag it to his target. the lightning would arc off of the target and damage other things, without killing them. So basically a spartan laser that shoots out an uncontrolled lightning blast instead of a focused beam with a small splash damage radius...or A HUGE splash damage radius. Obviously it wouldn't be EXACTLY lightning but the blast would just look like it. I'm totally going to draw a picture of this and post it later.

  8. Custom Games Matchmaking [Waiting since Halo3] [Fixed] Halo 4 forge with more features = Adding Ai [Ai as in everything from UNCS Grunts, to enemies, to campaign bosses] New Forge Mode: Campaign Forge [Lets you go into a campaign mission, choose a checkpointed section, or area, and build there and complete the mission how you would've liked too, or just use that area to make a game mode in] Remove armor abilities from starting load outs and make them pick up if you still choose to keep them in. Make the DMR a pick up, not the BR. Dynamic Animations such as juking to the left or right as you hit jump. [Maybe] Graphics. Coop. Fun mode where you get to play as an ODST. [Maybe as an activated skull, or a custom setting.] In Custom Games allow you to play as: Forerunners, Elites, Hunters, Etc. Be able to use the War Sphinx in custom games.
  9. This is my theory about Halo 5: Guardians. It is based on the cover of Halo 5: Guardians. It is using a cover I call the reflection which shows a few things. First it shows the main characters which will be the Master Chief and the other spartan I will call Blue because of his visor. Next we know the focus, it will be centered around Spartan Blue. Also Spartan Blue is above the Master Chief meaning Blue will be the hero. Now I will focus on the title which is Halo 5: Guardians not Halo 5: Guardian. The "s" changes everything because now the galaxy has two guardians the Master Chief(RED) and our new spartan(BLUE). Red vs. Blue, I wonder who will save the galaxy. Side notes: the Master Chief has a red orange shine. Blue might be hunting down the Master Chief.

  11. Hey everyone, Have been playing high level Halo, SC2, LOL, chess for a good while now and now playing DOTA 2. Halo is by far my favourite game out of the above.... When it's played on LAN Going by online standards, I would rate Justin Beiber better then Halo (yeah Justin Beiber the little a-hole) Halo puts all the properties of the competitive games above into a space age FPS. Halo : Highly strategic, High skill cap, Requires great team work, Very fun, Constantly updated to maintain balanced gameplay Competitive (On LAN) but highly frustrating and imbalanced online due to peer 2 peer lag Now what makes a game competitive? Most importantly it need to be an equal playing field, one player/team cannot be given an advantage from random properties that are implemented into the game. Examples : Random ordinance drops in Halo 4, Bloom in Halo : Reach. The No.1 thing that makes online gaming fair is a dedicated server, It allows every player to have the low ping based the distance they are from the server. But what if the server is located in L.A California and players on the east coast have 70 ping instead of players in L.A having 12. This is unfortunate but you have the same opportunity to relocate to L.A giving all players equal opportunity to optimal connection. Where as Peer to Peer connection which has been used in every Halo game so far does not allow for this consistent location of the host so you can assume your average ping and adjust over hundreds of game to playing on 70 ping that it becomes very normal to you and only hinders give the players on 12 ping a slight advantage. But in peer 2 peer you will get a random host from new York who has bridged himself host and deliberately downloads torrents while he is host of the game causing 500-1000 ping for all the other players. In online Halo where you have 2 teams of 4 versing each other from opposite sides of the country or even the world, the team with host will be at an immense advantage, all 4 players on the team with host are sitting on less then 60 ping while the other team are all well above 400 ping, so how is it one team being able to 4 shot every time while the other team would be lucky to pop the hosting teams shield with 5 or 6 shots and melees don't register. I'm sure everyone on the website has experienced the games where it takes your full BR clip to just pop and enemies shield or players teleporting and getting assassinations while they are in front of you, or standing on custom for 3 seconds shooting the enemy while he runs straight at you, for him to still pick the overshield up over you and kill you and then tea-bagging you because he thinks he made such a great play...... (insert rage face) In league of legends, the server I play on is located in Sydney Australia giving me an average of 27-29 ping (if nobody is downloading porn from my net ). The only time I will get high ping is when the server crashes (rare) or I am uploading or downloading other content. Now in peer 2 peer I can not be downloading and will match a player across the other side of the world and one of us will have to put up with 300+ ping while the other player is playing on LAN connection. Now since having a equally fair playing field is a must for a competitive game, how can one player having to play with 300 ping delay while the other plays with 0 ping delay be fair? It's not fair, plain and simple. Online ranked matchmaking in Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo: Reach's Arena, and Halo 4's CSR crap. are all a farce due to none of the games being eligible for competitive ranked play since they were not balanced. Fair enough dedicated servers were not really available to console gaming back then but there is no reason in the modern day for Halo 5 to be peer to peer if they intent to be a competitive game. So putting above into a nutshell. Peer 2 Peer online gaming is a random property. Competitive games eliminate random properties. Dedicated servers are consistent. Halo 2 : anniversary and Halo 5 multiplayer need dedicated servers or you may as well not bother with ranked matchmaking.... because who the hell would play unbalanced ranked gameplay on peer 2 peer connection, when the titles I mentioned above have created great competitive titles on dedicated servers. Thanks for reading, feel free to post any feedback.
  12. Hello ladies and Gentleman, With epic Halo fans like you guys, i decided a quick thought to share with you guys that came straight out of my brain. I have no idea if 343 industries has thought of this yet, but i am very confident that this is a possible future inclusion. This would be one sick thing in Halo 5 defintly. But lets get straight in before i lose topic control and get into something else. So Promethean Vehicles? Could this even possibly happen at some point, i mean it sounds like some pretty epic thought, but is it really neccesary? I mean, a lot of fans could simply argue of how that would make the game feel more unHaloish, but its a pretty sick thing! Just imagine ok, jumping into a Ground n Pound assault vehicle and have it make some cool affects such as the Promethean weapon arsenel in Halo 4! Let me know in the comment/reply section of what you think. Again, this is ArbiterMLG, signing out! I was eager to get this one up, so without further ado here's your three articles in one, the fourth issue of the Weekly News Wrap-Up! View attachment: WNW 51014.JPG The Elder Scrolls Online Delayed on Consoles Zenimax and Bethesda's newest issue in the Elder Scrolls series, a push into the new frontier of MMOs for the franchise, The Elder Scrolls Online, is apparently going to be delayed on the next generation, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. According to the official Elder Scrolls site, ElderScrollsOnline.com, the Xbox One and PS4 versions were delayed due to Zenimax's vie to deliver an experience worthy of Elder Scrolls on the consoles, as well as issues on the PC version making dents in the development. As well, an agreement was worked out with Microsoft and Sony to allow players to access the game on PC first, and for $20 more, upgrade to PS4 or Xbox One later on when the versions release. An added bonus to this deal is an extra 30 days for free, though the forced $15 fee to unlock the rest of the free months is still a snag unto the offer. View attachment: ESO1.jpg Has this impacted your decision to buy the game positively or negatively? Will you take part in the transfer deal for PC to Next Generation? Let me know below, and be sure to leave feedback! Halo 5 Accidentally Teased in Xbox One Trailer The next generation Halo has apparently been teased enticingly in a recent Xbox One trailer, showing some rather important information. On Xbox's official account, a new teaser for the hardware and UI called "Show" revealed a player under the name 'Pit Bear' playing what is labeled as the next Halo, on Haven in a game of Infinity Slayer. While HaloWaypoint did comment saying that this was placeholder information, it's still interesting to spot out, and could confirm the return of these fan-favorite game modes and maps. View attachment: halo_5_trailer.jpg What do you think of this information, are you enticed, and do you want it to return? Comment and be sure to discuss, thanks for reading! Titanfall Hinted at for PlayStation 4 A well known leaker named Tidux on Twitter.com says that Titanfall is in the works for PS4 and could release soon. Now, what makes Tidux somewhat credible is that he recently leaked the PlayStation 1.70 update, which turned out to be completely true. This rumor should be taken with a grain of salt, as the exclusivity agreement has not been confirmed to be null and void just yet. Evidence does hint at a future sequel on the system, but as for the original, it's all speculation until we get an official announcement, but this leak does hint at some interesting things. 15. OK so I'm watching a video from HaloFollower, a video about "Halo 5 news" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0rm-8MjvkY And he's talking about another video from Microsoft, called "Xbox One Design Show" and at one point in that video we see a user on the Xbox One make a post saying he's playing "HALO 5 INFINITY SLAYER ON HAVEN" Now I just hope this is some kind of placeholder or something, because if you are seriously bringing back Infinity Slayer god help Halo. With Halo 4, you tried to fix Halo Reach's problems. You could have made a game that was like Halo 1-3, with the core experience that all Halo fans know and love and WANT, or you could go with Reach's type of playstyle. Halo Reach was not a good Halo game. The fans didn't like it, Reach is what made Halo start go downhill, and for some reason you decided to keep building upon the broken base that was Reach. Reach was broken and you tried to fix that with Halo 4 instead of just burying the memories of Reach once and for all, NOT ONLY THAT but at the same time you tried to add so much stuff into the game, that it ended up being a complete MESS. Ordnance drops? Adding randomness into a game that is very comptetitive and have a very basic sandbox is not a good move. One team could have map control and be in the lead, and then an ordnance drops down next to the team that was losing, giving them an incineration canon, and swing the flow of the game completely, out of randomness. Now that's a very extreme example, but it could happen. Ordnance drops took away the critical need for map control, part of the map control in previous titles was to be able to get the power weapons and power ups, therefor getting the advantage, you can go on a, what is it 7 kill spree and get either? Ridiculous. Sprint... Sprint... Sprint works in Cod, Battlefield because the killtimes are so fast. In Halo, giving sprint to a player that can take 3 shots before his shield is down, made so that you could put yourself in a bad situation that should've gotten you killed, but because you can sprint away you are not dead. The "core" Halo experience was so good because you had to constantly think about where you go and how you can get away if you have to, or you were dead and opens up a push for the enemy team. That doesn't work anymore with sprint in the game. Get rid of sprint, it simply doesn't work with Halo because of the killtimes. Hitmarkers is something many people probably doesn't care about, but I do. It gave you an advantage and let me tell you how. Let's say I'm playing on The Pit, and I'm sitting in the sword room, trying to get a flank on someone. And then suddenly someone bounces a grenade of the wall and it lands in the room and when it blows up, I take damage. Not a big deal, except now he knows there's someone in there and I'm suddenly in a disadvantage. This is jus an example but I hope it brings the message. You can basically "see" someone without seeing him. Armor Abilities is not game breaking, except promethian vision and jetpack, I think that you should remove Armor Abilities all together, because they break this really even sandbox Halo has. Everyone has the same weapons and abilities (none) and what team can control the map and power ups and weapons will probably win the game. Now there's AA's in the sandbox, so even if a team is at a disadvantage they can still GET an advantage because of AA's. Now as I said, I feel like removing the AA's is the way to go, but if you really have to have it in the next Halo game, make it like a powerup. Like the evade on Reach, me personally didn't feel like it broke the game. It was another point of the map that you had to control, or else the other team would get an advantage. Because you decided to add so much stuff into Halo 4 at the same time as you tried to fix the broken base that was Reach, it ended up being a mess, really. Broken, no balance. Oh, the boltshot. BEFORE the nerf, it was a one shot kill in close range. Ridiculous, glad you nerfed it, really glad you did. I personally feel like it should NOT be a secondary weapon that anyone can use, but rather a weapon on the map that you can pick up. I don't know why you removed the Mauler, and replaced it with the boltshot really, it feels like that's just something you did to erase the "bungie" feel and add "343" feel, the same way you changed chiefs armor, the look of the weapons, the crosshairs. I personally was so mad when you changed the crosshairs. That's just a small detail, that you changed for no reason really. When you change enough of small details like that you will end up removing the feel of the genre, and that's what happened with Halo 4. I hope you 343 decides to listen to the Halo fans, because if you do we will be playing your next title endless of hours, way beyong the release of the next title, or if you try to fix Halo 4 with the next title, you will attract casual players for 1 month then they're gone. Thank you for reading. This is just what I feel is right for the Halo genre, I love Halo and I want it to succeed.
  16. A new Halo 5 multiplayer modus in the making! Although we don't have much info on the upcoming Halo title we now do know 343i wants to implement a new modes in the Halo 5 multiplayer. 343i has started hiring for a person who can: -Implement and execute competetive multiplayer features -Fine tune the existing multiplayer experience -Create and implement a brand new multiplayer modes Now the last one seems highly interesting since even 343i doesn't know what it'll be. Although they would have to give their blessing first. What kind of modes would you like to see in Halo 5? "And now for something completely different." Destiny will have no initial PvP. Got the game and wanna shoot some other players? Tough luck, because Bungie has made it so that you'll first need to play a couple of hours before you can blast your opponents to bits. Now I know this sounds bad but there is logic behind this madness. In Destiny you will start without a 'super attack' and without this you'd be completely destroyed by opponents who do have this ability. And who likes getting blown up without defence? In order to 'unlock' competetive multiplayer you'll first have to complete several missions, get you super attack and find a special weapon. Only then you'll fully understand how the game works and you'll be on your merry way. See at as some kind of tutorial. There hasn't been much info on the competetive multiplayer side of Destiny so far. Keep an eye out on E3 this year. Do you like the way Bungie handles this situation? As always leave answers and comments down below! Thank you for reading! 18. A new Halo 5 multiplayer mode in the making! Although we don't have much info on the upcoming Halo title we now do know 343i wants to implement a new mode in the Halo 5 multiplayer. 343i has started hirering for a person who can: -Implement and execute competetive multiplayer features -Fine tune the existing multiplayer experience -Create and implement a brand new multiplayer mode Now the last one seems highly interesting since even 343i doesn't know what it'll be. Although they would have to give their blessing first. What kind of mode would you like to see in Halo 5? "And now for something completely different." Destiny will have no initial PvP. 20. If Halo 5 has CSR 1-50 in game, do you think that unlocking armor by getting to level 50 in a specific playlist is a good idea?
  21. I can't wait for Official Halo 5 trailers on Live TV. I remember watching Halo 4's trailers on TV for the first time and I lost my mind! And I loved to watch the H4 trailers around my family so they could see how epic Halo is. I remember watching the H4 trailer with Master Chief trapped in the Didact's grasp with my Grandparents at their house on TV. The other live action trailer when their on the Infinity being scanned by the Forerunners I watched at the movie theater.
  22. Since halo reach halo has been on the downfall in the competitive scene, Halo was the birth of everything that started online game play. If 343 wants to be respected they need to bring halo back to MLG. Bottom line. We need dedicated servers for online play, All playlists. We need battle rifle start no assault riffle, We need less OP weapons, We need a level playing field, Mirrored maps for less spawning uphill advantage, No armor abilities, And no sprinting. If 343 just builds the Halo 5 game around halo 2 and halo 3 (more so H2) then 343 will have a mass multiplier game that will dominate MLG and every Xbox one connected to XBL. Halo started all this on XBL, Dont let it die 343
  23. Hey everybody, I recently finished a Fake Movie trailer using cosplay footage from the 2014 Portland Wizard World Comic-Con. There's some GREAT Halo cosplay, including a small child in a Grunt costume, and a Halo 5 Master Chief. I also edited in some dialogue from various Halo games. Enjoy!
  24. Introduction I love Halo. Halo has been my favorite video game ever since I played it first at my friend's house, when I was a child. And not without good reason. Halo CE offered an incredibly fun, balanced, and competitive first person shooter experience that could entertain for days. My friends and I always seemed to find ourselves on Blood Gulch or Sidewinder, playing slayer or capture the flag. Those were some of the best video game moments I've ever had. The fervor continued all the way through Halo 3, the height of my gaming career. I didn't have xbox live in the Halo 2 days, so most of my online and ranked Halo-ing was done in Halo 3. The ranking system combined with the general fairness of the game, and its design philosophy created a formula that always kept me coming back for more. When I won I soared on the ecstasy of victory, and when I lost, I would curse my opponents, and re-enter matchmaking to redeem myself. All of this ended when Bungie released Halo Reach, and 343 made matters even worse with Halo 4. None of this is news; at the time of this writing in April of 2014, the failures of Reach and Halo 4 are well documented: armor abilities, sprint, high aim assist, loadouts, slow movement speed, instant spawn, ordnance, bloom, shield bleed through, descope, the list is rather endless. It is quite obvious at this point that Bungie and 343 have transformed Halo into a game that conforms with the average modern shooter, ie Call of duty, Battlefield, sprint and classes, call-in rewards. Call of Duty has been immensely successful, so I think that 343 industries sought to emulate the features of this and other games in attempt to appeal to the players of those games. The ploy failed however, as the new Halo alienated its original formula and fan base, and failed to grasp the intended market for very long, because Call of Duty makes a way better Call of Duty than Halo does. So what will happen now, I wonder? I can not say. Perhaps 343 industries will release another Halo title that continues to go in the direction following in Halo 4's footsteps, with more loadout options, more customization, unlocks that affect gameplay, and the like. Perhaps they will learn from their mistakes and take a step back, to recreate the original Halo formula. The latter would of course be the better choice, but big business is a fickle and shallow thing, and its hard to say for sure what is going to happen. It is possible that 343 industries really has no control of this. Maybe this decision is made at a corporate level. You might be wondering what the purpose of this writing is then. My intention is to outline exactly my opinion on how the Halo franchise should progress onward from this point. I have been along since the beginning, and I have a firm grasp what Halo is, and what makes it fun. I have filled a fair number of notebooks with drafts of this theoretical game, and have fussed over every point of the game for months and months now, in my own mind, building Halo up from scratch, not really innovating, but trying to pull the best from all of the Halo games, and filter out the worst, mediocre, and average. I care about Halo perhaps a little too much. Regardless of whether or not my words sway any minds or have any real affect, I would like to put them out there. I hope that I can participate in a movement that pushes Halo back into a what it used to be: fun. Summary This "build" of Halo that I will share with you is not a radical step forward in any way. It is actually more of a step back into the days of Halo's CE, 2 and 3, and would play very much like one of those games. My goal in this section is to communicate to you a summary of the features that would go into my "build" of Halo. I won't pretend that all of this information is my own, most of this information has been outlined before, and often, this build does include some new ideas though. After the summary, you will find the same points, but in much greater detail. This article is extremely long. Here, I go over literally every detail I can think about to make Halo the best game it can be. I have contained the rest of the article, the more detailed section, in a spoiler below to save space. Please check it out if you feel the need, especially if you would like to see my explanation for a particular decision you might agree or disagree with. I have organized the more detailed section with clear titles, so it should be relatively easy to find what you are looking for. Bonus points if you read the whole thing. I have spent an immense amount of time on this. Please be respectful of my opinions, as I am respectful of your opinions. I intend to give you logical explanations to try and bring out thought provoking discussion. Without further adieu, here is "my" Ideal Halo 5 build. -No sprint. Sprint breaks Halo. Move and shoot! I really hope I didn't just loose most of you here. Feel free to check out my arguments in the spoiler section. -Smaller maps to account for the lack of sprint, and to keep up the action. -Fast base movement speed and acceleration for a powerful strafe, and to increase game pace. -You won't be slowed when taking fire. -Fast and deep crouch. Fast crouch walk (66% base movement speed) for improved effectiveness of the stealth function. -No reticle bloom on precision weapons. No spread on the BR. There is no reason for programmed randomness. -No custom Loadouts. No loadouts in most gametypes. Everyone will enter the game with the exact same capabilities. -All weapons benefit from headshots. Some benefit more than others. -Marksman Rifle (essentially a 4sk, no bloom, 2x scope, 16 round magazine DMR) and Assault Rifle Starts. -The Assault Rifle is vastly redesigned and improved; it is a fast collapsing bloom weapon (Halo Reach's AR and Halo 4's AR were slow collapsing bloom weapons) that can do headshot damage. Burst firing will be more effective than ever, and the skill curve of the weapon will be higher than ever. Using the AR will be about using the correct length of burst at certain ranges, and then landing accurate headshots. -Higher damage, faster kill times (somewhere between Halo CE and Halo 2,3,Reach). The marksman rifle, one of the slower killing weapons, will kill in 1.17 seconds. -All pickup weapons are balance to have the capability to kill faster than the MR, requiring some extra effort or skill to wield. -Lower Auto-Aim and Bullet Magnetism Values for increased skill gap. -No ordnance. All weapons, grenades, armor abilities, powerups and equipment spawn on the map, like in Halo CE-3 and partially, Reach. -No armor abilities off spawn. You must pick up armor abilities off of the map. -Armor abilities have fuel, limiting their use, and they can be picked up off of dead Spartans. -There will be no HUD images displaying the location of pickups on the map. -Pull out your equipment by pressing LEFT on the d-pad (the spartan will hold it in his left hand), and deploy it by pulling Left Trigger. -Many grenades have been reworked into equipment, leaving frags and plasmas as the only two grenades. -The reticle will be in the center of the screen, not slightly below center. -You will be forced out of scope upon taking damage (Descope). -No hit markers. Shield flare serves the purpose of letting a player know he hit the enemy. This is not a huge point, I would relent on this if I had to. -Experiment with a sound que to signify hits, as a possible replacement for hitmarkers. -No hit markers on grenades. These make them too useful as scouting tools. -No grenade indicators (the arrow that shows where a live grenade is in relation to your location). -15m (short range) motion tracker that can distinguish between up and down. Short range to allow for play around the motion tracker's periphery. -Shorter shield wait and recharge times (4 seconds wait and 2 seconds charge as opposed to 7 seconds wait in Halo 4) -Health will be visible, and will fully regenerate if you lose only two bars of health. If you lose almost all of your health, it will regenerate to half. There will be health packs on the map, which will begin charging your shields the moment you pick them up. If you have below half health, you are vulnerable to being one hit killed by a well placed frag grenade even with full shields. Plasma grenades have the capability to kill a full health, full shielded spartan when on the ground. You have 10 bars of health to start off with. -Your shields and health will drain from right to left, rather than from the outsides, to give more clarity as to how much of your shields and health remain. The shield and health bar will be located at the top middle of the screen. -No instant spawning. Wait 4 seconds to spawn. I changed the timer from 5 to 4 to save everyone about a second on every respawn. -Melee requires 3 hits to the front to kill, and 2 hits to the back to kill. If you land a melee to the back, a follow up melee to the front will kill. If you land a melee to the front, a follow up melee to the back will kill. -Melee will bleed through the shields into health. -When you melee, you will not move forward, or lunge towards your opponent like in Halo 2, 3, Reach, and 4. Rather, you will remain stationary like in Halo CE. The melee speed will be faster however. This does not mean that the melee will be significantly shorter range, it just means that you will not change location when meleeing, which can be annoying. The player model will appear to lean forward a large amount when meleeing. -Players cannot assassinate others by holding melee, like in Reach and Halo 4. -Instead, players must pull out their knife by pressing DOWN on the D-pad, and then they can assassinate others from behind by pressing Melee (LB) or Fire (LT). Players can unlock different knives, and knives can have skins. -Assassinating an enemy will double his respawn timer (to 8 seconds) for that respawn, adding a tactical advantage and a risk/reward element to assassinations. Assassinating in previous Halo's was a risk/risk system, only giving the players a nice aesthetic to look at. -Duel Wielding has been improved and rebalanced, and makes its return. Players can now melee and switch weapons without dropping their left weapon. Duel wield-able weapons are not found in pairs like in Halo 3, rather they are spaced out around the map, requiring a player to travel to two different locations to duel wield. Note that you do not spawn with a duel wield-able weapon. I do not predict that duel wielding will see much use, but it is an attractive feature that might help sales, and it's nice to be able to use the ability in campaign. -The weapon reload animations will make sense. In most games, the reload animation suggests that one bullet is left behind in the chamber. A fresh mag is inserted, but the extra bullet isn't accounted for. Instead of having the weapons be X+1 rounds, I want the round count to return to X, not X+1. So reload animations will show the spartan pulling the charging handle back at the beginning, which would fictionally pull the bullet out of the chamber and stick it back into the magazine. This is a point of polish of aesthetics. -Weapons will not automatically reload after the mag is empty. Players have to initiate all reloads always. This will get players to pay more attention to their ammo meter. Of course there is an option to turn this off in the options menu, but all matchmaking gametypes would have this feature. -There should be a general lack of explosive barrels in Halo. Few to none. These only serve to amplify grenade power, and cause frustration. -Improved controls and user interface options. Left handed support. Multiple HUD layouts. -Default Controls are similar to Bumper Jumper, to get everyone using the superior scheme. A bumper jumper-esque control scheme allows players to aim, melee, and jump all at the same time. -An interesting point: when a player picks up the jet pack armor ability, the controls for Jump and Armor ability will switch, so you can use jet pack and aim at the same time. There will be an on screen que to remind the player that this is happening. By default, Armor Ability is on the A button, so without this feature, you would not be able to use the look stick while jet-packing. This feature can be disabled if the player so chooses. There are also many more control schemes available, and more options to customize the player interface. -Jumping has been modified slightly. Instead of always jumping to the same height, you can preform a shorter jump by barely tapping the jump button, and preform the full height jump by holding onto the jump button ever so slightly. This helps players get up onto smaller ledges more quickly and efficiently. Of course, this feature can be disabled, and the hold time value required for the full jump can be adjusted to the players liking. Small (and quiet) jets will launch the spartan into the air when the full jump is used. -The control scheme is designed to give the player the capability to drop any item they pick up, including weapons, grenades, AA's, Equipment, and ammo. You cannot drop a powerup, or your knife. Default controls: Left Stick: Move/Crouch (click) Right Stick: Look/Zoom (click) Left Trigger: Throw Grenade/Fire Left Weapon Right Trigger: Fire Weapon, Fire Right Weapon Left Bumper: Jump/Jetpack Right Bumper: Melee A: Armor Ability Up: Flashlight B: Switch Grenade/Reload Right Weapon Down: Pull out Knife X: Reload/Reload left weapon Left: Pull out Equipment Y: Switch Weapons Right: Drop Armor Ability (hold) Hold B to drop Grenades Hold X to drop Ammo Hold Y to drop Weapon Hold Left to drop Armor Ability Hold Right to drop Equipment You cannot drop Powerups. -Completely revised and balanced weapon sandbox. -Completely revised and balanced vehicle sandbox. -Revised Objective Gametypes that fall more in line with original Halo's. You can drop the flag, no throwing of the oddball, ect. -Separate competitive ranked playlists and casual unranked playlists. -Halo 3-esque ranking system. See NakedEli's Ideal Halo 5 Ranking System. Look it up. -Fair and balanced in-game scoring system. Players earn kills (each kill is worth 1 point for the team's score meter), but they also earn personal points exactly equal to how much damage they do to the enemy. Say you do 81% damage to an enemy, and your teammate snipes him in the head for the remaining 19%. You earn 81 personal points and an assist, and your teammate earns 19 personal points and a kill. Players with higher personal point levels will be placed closer to the top in the post game stats. This is done to give a more accurate representation of how much damage a player did to the enemy team, and to help out players who frequently get their kills "stolen", or players who are more support oriented. -Revised betrayal penalties and quit penalties. If you are betrayed even once, you will be presented with a option to kill your betrayer with the press of a button, and give him a triple than normal respawn time (12 seconds). You will also have the option to excuse the incident. You will respawn instantly after making your selection. Quitters will not be allowed to re-enter matchmaking until the game they quit out of is finished. Though they will have the option to re-enter the same game that they quit out of. If you are betrayed twice by the same person, you will have the option to boot him from the game, and he will not be allowed to re-enter any games at all until the game you are playing is complete. -Long lasting and fair progression system. Customizable aesthetics, nothing that affects gameplay. -Players will not be allowed to play as elites in standard gametypes. I realize this is an unpopular decision, many of you want to play as elites, but they have different hitboxes, and are harder to headshot from behind, giving them and unfair advantage in this area, also Elites are much bigger than Spartans. Allowing players to play as elites in standard matchmaking means that not all players have the same capabilities and attributes. There could be elites in Invasion though, and we could have elite slayer as a separate playlist. -Well rounded options menu in custom games to allow for game polish and refinement. Well, thank you for reading this far. The section below is absolutely huge, and contains more detail than I think the average forum reader is interested in, or has the time to read. But please, feel free to check it out!
  25. Hey guys! This is a Halo 5 menu that I made just for fun. I would love if you guys checked it out and told me what you thought! This is also the second game menu I have ever made. Please do comment on the video! It makes it easy for me to read it via email. And if you enjoy it, share it with friends! I decided to make this after realizing how much I hated the Halo 4 UI. I feel they should have stuck with a similar layout to the other Halo games. I had finished this a while back but I kept adding more as new ideas popped into my head. Some of the things took a learning curve so it took a little while. The poster was made as a last minute thing just for fun. I had made this very large version of the Halo 5/Xbox One logo for the menu, so I decided to make a poster of it. I didn't want to add to much to the background so I kept it fairly simple. Maybe I'll have it signed by some of 343 staff in the future. Again it isn't a hassle for you, please leave comments on the video too. (It will be sent to me via email) Video: Here
