  1. There should be intermittent Boss waves consisting of Hunters, Tank Flood forms, or Knight Battlewagons.
  2. For those of you who don't know, ADS stands for Aim Down Sights. Halo doesn't use this, but I think ADS should apply to weapons like the Assault Rifle, SMG, Shotgun, and Suppressor. Weapons with scopes such as the Battle Rifle or Magnum would not be affected. The ADS would decrease recoil and increase accuracy; unlike in games like CoD, aim assist would not be enhanced. ADS would make game-play more realistic and tactical.
  3. @PP It's been a while; I guess I mixed up the thread title; here it is: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/26553-spawn-of-the-precursors-the-emulators/?do=findComment&comment=248211
  4. It should definitely be a survival experience. Firefight is great for those who don't have the money for XBL.
  5. @PP I am aware of the shoulder emblems, but 343i could eliminate the need for a lot of chest pieces if they used those pieces to display the emblems, which are easier to render than distinct chest pieces. Also, there should be a party hat add-on, earned by getting headshots on 1000 grunts in Campaign with the skull on.
  6. Certain Affinity made Forge Islands, not 343i. All 343i can do for Halo 4 now is patch weapons and bugs and add MP playlists. And if you haven't watched The Mona Lisa, SPOILER ALERT!! I'll give you a little time for you to consider if you want to read the spoiler; it's kind of obvious, but it's better if you just watch it on the tube. Anyway, (spoiler) ONI was experimenting with the Flood, so it is a very real threat to Spartans. And might recur in other games.
  7. @Victory Element It would be great for stopping Sword lunges and Boltshot charges, as well as deflecting smaller vehicles and grenades.
  8. Some of these would be better off as equipment. The Thruster Pack should be dynamic, pushing you down when you are on the ground (to dive from ledges), slightly up while airborne (to get to that ledge), and have two thrusts in one charge, like Evade.
  9. If you want to know what I want the Flood to be like in Halo 5, just go to WangTim3's channel on YouTube and watch The Mona Lisa. Also, I don't think 343i should worry about making the Flood innappropriately scary for the younger players; Cortana was practically naked in Halo 4, and there was plenty of cursing. I like the idea of a quick-time animation for an infection form (popcorn Flood) jumping on Chief's visor. It should be a visceral experience.
  10. Armor customization is really great. It's what keeps players coming back for more, to get that sweet helmet or katana. I like the amount of customization in Halo 4, but a lot of it is redundant and takes up valuable space on the disc. I know that the Xbox3 will be able to run really complex stuff, but I don't see a compact disc revolution coming anytime soon. These are some ways to improve armor, making it stand out more and be less redundant. Color: I don't care how much you covet Recon or the Master Chief helmet; color is the ultimate expression on armor. Back in Halo CE, color was the only thing customizable. Then, it was just the entire suit; now, every piece of armor's color should be variable. This might not be prevalent in team game modes because of red and blue, so let's move onto something else. Helmets: Almost as important as armor color, it's like your face--how would it be like not to have a face? Helmets should be distinctly recognizable and linked to an accomplishment. A good example is the MC helmet; you must complete the Campaign on Legendary. All armor should be linked to achievements; the credit system should be scrapped. To get armor of any kind, players should be brought back to the Campaign, the part of the game that requires the most time to build but is forgotten a week or two after being played. When players complete achievements in the Campaign, not only is it better than droning for hours in War Games, it signifies an accomplishment, a feat. For instance, there could be a Promethean Knight helmet awarded for assassinating three in one level. This leads into interchangeability. Mix 'n Match: Some people like to have the craziest armor possible. How awesome would it be to have the torso of a Spartan, the legs of an Elite, and the helmet of a Knight? In Reach, there was Elite armor and Spartan armor. Why not change it up? Armor sets: There's nothing more BA than sporting a full suit of ODST armor. These sets are more recognizable than generic Spartan combinations. They must be linked to Campaign achievements (lead all marines through safely on Mission 3). They are also great for machinimas. Chest piece/icon: The amount of chest pieces in Halo 4 is ridiculous. No one ever looks at them, and they are a waste of space. The icon/logo/symbol is often overlooked in-game. My idea is to combine the two. There should be one chest piece for Spartans, one for ODSTs, one for Elites, and so on. The logo should be featured on the chest piece and be very visible. This will add more character to players armor. Add-ons: The finishing touches on an armor set; it's so cool to walk around with a katana strapped onto your back. What about pistol holsters, or a whip slung over the shoulder? Sure. These things especially should be linked with achievements and be released regularly over the game's life. Those are my idea and breakdowns. The gist of it is to remove things that don't serve a purpose (e.g. 50 chest pieces that no one cares about) and add meaningful items that connote accomplishments, like a katana or Promethean helmet. These changes will save space for a longer campaign and more MP maps and keep people interested for a while. Thanks for reading, and please leave your feedback.
  11. You guys should check out the thread "The Emulators: Spawn of the Precursors". It's not canon (yet), but I think it is a nice idea that could bring back some species we missed with some credibility.
  12. The Flood aren't completely destroyed. Go to WangTim3's channel on YouTube and watch The Mona Lisa. Practically speaking, 343i would have included playable Elites, but that would have required a new character model--remember, they had to build everything from scratch. I think they felt that including a Flood model was more important and may prepare the player for what might come in future games. Hint hint.... Technically, they could add Elites back in if they made an armor DLC with Sangheli armor on a Spartan IV. Unfortunately, this won't happen anytime soon because 99% of 343i are working on Halo 5. Just be glad that you have a character model to play on at all.
  13. @PP The Drop Shield should go back to being equipment; as an armor ability it stifled the flow of game-play.

It's definitely balanced out by load-outs with Plasma Pistols and stickies. I think that playlists like BTB objective should have more centralized game-play that highlights Warthog combat.
  15. Lightning CTF can be a lot of fun. I especially love it when people explode into fireworks and confetti. Unfortunately, it's not always a fun experience. The main problem is the ordnance; usually it's not a bad addition to a game-type, but in this case, it is. Let me explain: in LCTF, you can get kills extremely fast--lightning fast. While this brings about some nice, hectic action-sack game-play, it also encourages people to go fragging instead of playing the objective. Add no radar and no on-map power weapons to stimulate map movement, and you've got a camping fest. Also, the Light Rifle is a bit annoying because of its tendency to trade so often. My solutions are these: -Spawn players with Boltshots that kill in 3 hits (not charged up) -Spawn players with Hologram to give away campers' positions. -Spawn players with Speed Boost with externally visual effects (this will make it less effective to sprint and in turn limit over-sprinting). -Spawn players with weak Camo to limit the amount of aim assist--they will be visible because of the speed boost and how fast they move. -Have World Ordnance: Light Rifles and Binary Rifle; this will stimulate map movement. -Make personal ordnance more difficult to earn. This will dissuade players from camping so much. -Give the Flag Carrier more speed The Light Rifle will kill in 2 hits scoped-out and 1 hit scoped-in. The Bi-Ri won't be as OP as usual. These are just my ideas, but it would be great if you could spread them, whether that be on Waypoint, Live, or the real world.
  16. I think Black Box was in Glasslands. He would be a good guide for the Chief.
  17. How do you think Cortana will return, and what will she be like? I posted my ideas in the thread "Evil Cortana?"
  18. I heard Forge Island will have a new pallet. Hopefully it's like the concrete on The Pit in Halo 3.
  19. It would be nice to have a Freeze Tag gametype in Halo 5. When a player's health is completely drained, their traits change; they might do no damage, be stationary, or have a waypoint over their head. They can be revived when an ally is near them, or they can be captured if an enemy is nearby. They would respawn after 30 seconds, but this would detract points, which is a good incentive to save your teammates.
  20. If Halsey made another Cortana from herself, then it would fight against the UNSC, seeing as Halsey has a vendetta for Palmer.
  21. If there were to be Competitive and Social playlists, it might be wise to lessen the effects of bullet magnetism and explosive radius in the former. Whoops, totally wrong thread.
  22. Destiny is the game for you.
  23. I posted almost exactly the same idea over a month ago. Look up the thread "New Armor Ability: Anti-gravity Pulse". Hopefully this thread doesn't get removed for redundancy ;P
  24. I'm sure by now you've heard of two new possible vehicles in Halo 5: the Light-Assault VTOL and the Siege Bike, two items released by MegaBloks. Keep in mind that while it is a good indication of what is to come (they haven't released a single non-canon vehicle to date), it is still a lot of speculation. Let's go over the VTOL; it's a light-assault Vertical Take-Off and Landing vehicle, similar to the Hornet and Falcon. It has three propellers, which make it very maneuverable in tight spaces. Its armaments are two machine guns and a pair of rockets--sounds like a more agile Hornet. Here's what I like and don't like about this: Like: There is now (again) a vehicular, balanced counter to the Banshee; it's great for machinima; it opens up a whole new dimension for BTB. Dislike: It looks as though the pilot controls the weapons, which means that there won't be the same sense of teamwork bolstered by the Falcon in Reach; Its hovering capabilities make it easy to spawn-camp other players from a safe altitude. Now for the Siege Bike: Honestly, it's pretty much a UNSC Brute Chopper--except for the wicked treads. Its armaments are two heavy machine guns, which will probably function like the Chopper's cannons. Like: It will fill the gap of that all-purpose vehicle, the Chopper. Dislike: Since it takes the place of the Brute Chopper (and 343 isn't known to put redundant items into games--except for the BR and DMR), it probably means that the Brutes won't be back in Halo 5. It would go against the canon if they were because the Brutes were almost completely wiped out. At least we will have the core elements of their weapons and vehicles--343 is nice enough to give us that. Even so, I surmise that there will be a new berserker-type class of enemy to replace the Brutes, given the lack of spontaneity in Halo 4. This is even more speculation, but I suspect it will be a new type of Hunter, because that would follow the canon. Post your thoughts below. Would you like to see these changes? Keep in mind that something is better than nothing. You can watch an in-depth analysis of this information on the channels of ChiefAlphaQ or Halo5Follower--I recommend the first because he has a bit more information and stutters just a bit less (sorry, Chris!). Also, there are cool pictures! Enjoy.
