Yet another chance for someone to say "STFU and adapt!" and for all these less-traditionalist minded Halo players to say "finally, someone gets it!" (even though they've gotten it already and have been getting it since before Reach came out). IDK I'm so tired of this endless "OMG TEHY ARE CHANGIGD DI HALO" and the response "STFU AND ADAPT!" Neither argument is valid. Don't spend time saying "they are changing they gameplay we know and love therefore the change is bad!" or "just shut up and accept the change." Why? Beacuse change can be either good or bad. It is completely a matter of the individual change. The reality is that new things that are introduced don't have to be bad, and new things by 343 don't automatically have to be good. This thread is useless and the OP is making a stupid redundant arugment (redundant beacuse its already been said) beacuse if people really followed his advice than the people at Bungie and 343 could expect not to get any backlash on any change that was made. They could make absolutely horrible changes from the community and expect not a peep out of us. Furthermore, the OP probably would not follow his own logic if the changes being made were bad enough to his particular tastes. More likely the changes which 343 is making do not bother him as much as they do others, so he is better off arguing why other people are wrong on those individual issues than generalizing as he is here. This thread is about as useless as many "OMG DONT TURN HALO INTO COD!" on the other side of this issue. We should not simply have "Faith" in 343 and trust them...nor should we criticize everything they do. We should hold their feet to the fire and try to objectively analyze everything they do and consider those individual elements to see if they are good or bad. We can't know how features play until we have the game, but when we do play the game, some of those changes can be bad. Beacuse we are Halo fans' we should neither accept blindly every change that is made, nor refuse to buy the game beacuse we can't stand the aforementioned change. The endless argument between these "ADAPT!" types (of which the OP is definitely one as of posting this thread) and the "OMG STOP CHANGE!" is retarded and I'm kinda surprised that people keep standing up and saying "we agree with you!". This is just stupid.

@ Zl Malificient And just when it was getting good! Well not really...your basic assumption is you think a subjective argument cannot also be an objective argument...as if me saying 2 + 2 equals 4 is not both my subjective opinion and a statement of objective fact. Subjective and Objective arent mutually exclusive and thats where your arguments break down. That and, you seem to think that what we think matter and what actually does matter are the same thing. Protecting Children actually does matter, no matter what my opinion of it is. The notion of "what is important" is something independant of what actually is important. Also funny is the fact that you are pointing out that saying someone is objectively wrong on a subjective matter is silly when you were just saying you needed to forgive the OP for his lack of objectivity. If what he is talking about is simply subjective and I have no reason to be applying objective logic to it, why say he needs "objectivity" at all? Was I wrong to criticize him/her for it? But since you "bugged" out, I will write no more. Ain't sure what your voluntary pull out means visa-vi who had the best points but hopefully we wont have to hear anything more about how every element of Halo which we value or don't value is completely subjective from now on.

Nelkrons who are they? Do they actually exist?

http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=66160253 Pretty much says it all. -
Forerunner levels > Humanl levels, ergo I choose Wraparound.

Same here bro...well not recently since one of my key HWars mates is in Australia until June but yeah...14 Star Cobra...killing Scarabs in two shots. Oh hell yeah!
-
When asked the people at 343 keep the option of a Halo Wars 2 on the table. The first HWars was not a mega hit but it was a success.
-
This is Microsoft were talking here...they have armies...hell its not as if 343 would have to work on it...just let 343 ride roughshod over Robot entertainment seeing as how Robot is mostly Ensemble employees. With regards to your Marine idea, I'd would like to see a ODST 2 which interweaves a story about ODST's and Elite Special forces.

Halo Wars 2 needs two things; a proper add campaign and a more beefed up storyline...something a bit less cartoony and more challenging. In terms of depth to the strategy, I think Ensemble nailed the basic gameplay, but playing as the same UNSC or Covie leaders does get bland. I would not vote for a full on Flood faction or Forerunner faction though. The Flood should be kept in an infection style playlist where the Flood player infects the other players stuff and IDK how the Forerunner would play into it...naturally, there might be full canonical room for a faction based on the antagonist in Halo 4. All that said, if there is a Halo Wars 2, Robot (and 343) should try to implement a credit based customization system, not unlike what you now have in FPS's. There are so many units, species, vehicles, powers, etc. which get excluded from Halo simply beacuse their tactical niches are already occupied. Halo Wars 2 should implement a system whereby players can spend credits earned to unlock increasingly specialized units and equip them to their respective production buildings...maybe offer the ability to buy leader powers, cosmetic changes... I was thinking it would be really cool if you could customize 3 Spartan soldiers or 3 elite zealots with a set of armor (not full on customization just a whole set), a upgrade path and a base weapon and special ability. Other than that, maybe including a more dedicated implementation of phantom and pelican dropships and maybe a simple system to air drop basic fortifications unto the map. Maybe even the ability to construct Covenant or UNSC AA guns which prevent enemy players from using leader powers in a radius around them? Food for thought.

There needs to be a sequel to Hwars...but it should stay on the console. Halo Wars success was its simplicity and Rock Paper scissors gameplay. There is a room for a bit deeper stuff, sure, I'd like to see a credit system where you buy units and customize your army BUT Halo Wars would not be Halo Wars if they put it on PC and tried to Starcraft-ify it. Starcraft is Starcraft, Halo Wars is Halo Wars. Having to micromanage a single squad of grunts so that they can throw plasma grenades exactly when I want ala Starcraft sounds good on paper but would not work on consoles...if you made a PC version, you would either make it much more deep and complicated (and generate a disparity between it and the console version) or dumb it down to the level of the console version in which case PC palyers would ***** about it. 343 should make Halo Wars 2 for the console, just focus on the console, and put a snazzy customization system in...and maybe try to focus harder on the campaign (I feel that is Halo Wars only real flaw). Other than that, leave the fundamentals the same.

The Chopper was genius...kicks the crap out of the Revenant. And I liked the Revanant...but the Chopper is genius. Second funnest Halo vehicle ever, right in back of the Banshee. Did I mention its genius?

I'm non-commital on this. Map control and weapon spawns have always been such a big part of the game...this is maybe the biggest thing thats gonna change how Halo plays.

Gadgets, Guns, And Devils: The Sound Design Of Halo 4
VivaLebowski replied to Archangel Tyrael's topic in Halo 4
Good sound design can make a huge difference...playing BF3 after playing previous BF's and CoD...like holy sheet. So happy that they are pulling no punches on the Music and Audio. Don't know how the gameplays gonna turn out but its obvious that the guys at 343 know how to cover the bases of Halo. -
Rights?! Good lord boy where did you go to school? You don't even have a right to an xbox or a video game let alone rights to a cosmetic choice in one particular video game; you are only fortunate to have these privileges.

Bombardment incoming: You said, and I quote "what matters is entirely subjective". Even if you meant this purely with regards to Halo 4, your still completely up a tree. Saying what matters is entirely subjective basically says "the elements that are important to Halo being good" are completely subjective. That Halo being "good" or not is completely subjective. But this obviously doesn't hold true...if someone refused to buy Halo 3 because they didn't like the color of the traffic cones on Rats Nest they are making a absolute mistake. Do I say that subjectively? Of course, its my subjective opinion but its one based on a completely objective standard which most of us share. If the traffic cone does not matter objectively that disproves that not everything that "really matters" is subjective. Objectively and absolutely, what really matters excludes traffic cone color (unless Bungie had decided to make them epileptic seizure inducing strobes lol) and thus what really matters is not entirely subjective. This same logic can be extrapolated to what Mr.Elite whats his face thinks and says since his opinions are only a matter of degrees difference away from the traffic cone analogy. We can have the argument "does this cosmetic choice matter" or not, but the instant you decide to argue one way or another on that, you admit that there is an objective truth about that issue. We cannot both be right so either one of us is right or both of us are wrong, in accordance with an objective standard which exists quite independent of our subjective opinions. Not all arguments are like that, as we both agreed (and I never denied) and We have different opinions of course; we all interpret that objective standard subjectively in cases which are more complex than the aforementioned traffic cone, but the fact is Traffic cone color does not equal game breaking flaw. This is an objective reality as well as my subjective opinion. If your going to deny that, I'm not going to argue anymore because your simply too dense. But I suspect your not going to deny that. Opinions, arguments, etc. are subjective simply because we are stupid and have flawed judgement; we are imperfect, and to a certain extent evil little creatures in the scope of the Universe. When we form the wrong opinions and f' up our perception of the objective standard, that is our fault and its completely internal. Our opinions of what matter are subjective, but they can be right, and they can be wrong, because what actually does matter is distinct from what we think, and what actually does matter is objective.

Wth does that even mean? If someone is a rabid anti semite or a racist or a terrorist, do I not get to judge that behavior as stupid? So tired of hearing how we can't judge people. When someone is roleplaying out fictional aliens...he/she has a problem.

Halo 4 Beta - A Possible - 343 Industries Sparkast 12
VivaLebowski replied to Spectral Jester's topic in Halo 4
Imma make sure to sing Ive got a golden beta when it get in. Then promptly get co-opted by an activation employee to betray 343s secrets. Then it turns out at the end of the beta that the activation employee was a plot by 343 to see who the devoted fans are...then those fans go on to take over the company. Frankie is Willy Wonka. -
Pfft...whatevs homie. I remain technically correct.
-
Yeah but who knows if Grenades are part of the loadout or not? Since loadouts are in, its okay to have somewhat redundant Grenade types now with subtle differences so I say, the more grenade types the better. Stickys, Incends, Frags, Spikes...sounds good to me.
-
External armor which includes armor should actually be usable...if you get a hard achievement with a certain weapon, purchase the piece, get a small amount of additional ammo in game. Also, more pieces of Armor should be customizable, in particularly boots and hands.

One thing I hope is that he doesn't take the best of this music and layer a whole lot of stuff on top of it. Having just the violins and just the chanting with little to no other stuff is much more effective IMO. When he needs complex, keep it with the electronic and the heavy action, but keep the emotional and main themes simple and hard hitting.
-
You said Multiplayer. Halo 1 had multiplayer, maybe not matchmaking but multiplayer nonetheless. And Halo PC was a full on multiplayer suite for connecting to people's servers. You didn't specify "matchmaking". If you had youd be right.
-
I just want a system back where by me and my bud will say "oh sh!t" when we get matched with a max rank in doubles...being matchmade with a max rank in Reach is much less dramatic than Halo 3.
