Ask The Director 2.0

I enjoy a variety of music. I primarily listen to Mudvayne, Slipknot, Disturbed, Eminem, Lindsey Sterling, Sugar Ray, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Ramstein, and Say Anything.

If I could get one 'superpower', it would be omnipotence, and I would use it to try to make the world a better place and make life more worth living for more people.

That's a pretty damn nice Music selection there!

Do you support the Templars?

Not all of them.

Thank you.

What unit of measurement, legitimate or made up, would you use to measure your own success?

And who are you?

I personally don't believe that success can actually be measured, and I am me.

Why do different languages exist?

Because of different societies. Humanity spread far and wide, and then became isolated from one another. Most people had to walk anywhere they went, and back when the population was under two billion that meant that any humans other than those you grew up with were very, very far away. As a result, different cultures flourished and everyone developed their own way of communicating with those that they grew up with, creating the first languages. As cultures came into contact with one another (usually via war) languages began merging together to create new languages.

Wasn't the civil war fought because of slavery? :troll:

That was one of the main reasons, but there were a couple of factors leading into the American Civil War. There was a massive amount of animosity between 'northern' and 'southern' states at the time, and slavery became one of the main focuses of that animosity. Prior to everyone focusing on slavery, the people in the south believed that those in the north were 'posh' and looked down upon those in the south. Those in the north saw those in the south as lacking work ethic and being extremely isolationist.

Can perfection ever be achieved? :)

By you? No. :troll:

That's actually a good question. What defines something as perfect? Something that is perfect must have no flaws. The thing is, a lot of this is based on individual perspective/tastes. For some people, Halo 2 had no flaws. Others see it as full of flaws. So, to a select few, Halo 2 was perfect. So yes, it can be achieved. Not on a globally accepted scale, but on an individual scale.

Explain Marxism, Socialism and Capitalism?

Well, Socialism is a state of economy and government that is regulated by 'the people' of a community. Marxism is the theories of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels that were eventually used to create the basis of Communism, which is a political and economic theory in which all property is publicly owned and everyone is paid based on their skills and needs in theory. In practice, a government is created to regulate the communistic that generally ignores the public 'for their own good'.

Wouldn't a White Hole just be the exit of a Wormhole that has a Black Hole entrance?

It could be, but that's an over-simplification. Remember, most of what we 'know' about Black Holes and White Holes is just theory and is subject to change as we gather more data.

Are the rumors of your return to the competitive pokeball tossing ring true? If so, what is your strategy to reclaim your title as the best?

Okay, more serious now; what is your favorite indie game? Why is that one your favorite?

If you had to be an animal of any kind, aside from homosapien, what would you choose?

Do you prefer bacon or steak?

No, I have permanently retired from Pokemon battles.

My favorite indie game is Solar 2, because it is well thought out and really fun.

Well, if I couldn't be a Homo Sapiens Sapiens, then I guess I'd be a Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis.

Depends on my mood. Generally I prefer steak because it is more filling and can be just as flavorful.

Will the Mods go Avengers themed when the movie comes out?

I have no plans to do so, so no. Some might, but not all.

On a scale of 1-10... How pretty am I?

Well, you're pretty scaleful. Due to being a fish. So 10/10.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

Hasn't someone already asked the above question?

Yes, but it was a while ago.

Q1 Which Platform can do all-Genres of games the best without sacrificing other components like Graphics, play ability, controls, Etc.

Q2 What makes an MMO good for the players AND company

Q3 When do you think VR Headsets will be fully capable of use? (VR Headsets like Oculus and its Steam counterpart)

1. This is literally on a game by game basis, and on a user's personal preference. Not to mention that the question either excludes PCs, or assumes that all PC gamers have a quality machine, which the majority definitely do not.

2. An MMO has to have a few things to be both good for players and for the devs. It needs to be balanced (i.e. a level 5 vs a level 5 should be based upon player skill instead of purchased gear), it needs to be profitable, and it needs to maintain playability for quite some time. A great example of an MMO achieving these qualities would be World of Warcraft. Players had to pay to play instead of pay to win, but they got a great experience for their cash. The developer has been able to maintain employment for quite a few people while making massive profit in the meantime. It has also been going for eleven years, which is GREAT compared to most of the games in the MMO genre.

3. There actually are currently VR headsets that are fully capable of use. However, they are expensive and generally employed by the armed forces as training tools. The Oculus is simply trying to make it cost effective and release to the public, much like Sega did back in the 90's. If I remember right, they said that the VR effect was too realistic and they were afraid users may injure themselves while using them.
