No one can train you in Halo. You have to train yourself.
Personally, I find that campaign does help, if you play on Legendary. It helps you with aim and reflexes. As for learning how other people think, fight, and move, that will require multiplayer. But it's wisest to play the campaign all the way through before playing multiplayer. Gets you a bit of a good start.
