  1. As somebody mentioned, they still overcharge when you are in a vehicle, and since grunts can't hijack you, they may give them plasma pistols so you have some foes ready to interrupt your little road trip.
  2. That seems more serious than the lag/connection issues I have had. I don't have any discolorations on my disc or install problems. Just touchy connectivity. You might want to contact Microsoft Games and see if there is a warranty on the disc and if they can replace it. Seems they owe you a new one.
  3. I'd be happy to help, but the 9th at that time wouldn't work for me; I could just about any evening after the 9th. So if you want to do any other night also, let me know.
  4. She said "an alien AI full of human memories" not "ancient AI" and Spartan Thorne got all bent outta shape because he recognized the pictures as New Phoenix, Earth, where the composer hit. It was supposed to be the stored soul/consciousnesses of one of the human victims of the Didact's attack at the end of the campaign, not Cortana. They might later try to bring back Cortana, but that wasn't what they were implying in that scene.
  5. Yeah, it happened to me as well; I figured it had glitched, but I thought they were just invisible. On other maps, sometimes the enemies would spawn behind or fall behind the levels outer boundary. I could see the waypoint behind all the level geometry. But with no way to get there I couldn't finish the mission.
  6. I gotta say it's more widespread than you think. I get dropped from games, or they get lagged beyond playibility fairly frequently Often enough to be frustrating and ruin my enjoyment some nights. Some of the issue could be the connection, but I have standard cable for my area and it works well with all my PC games; good ping and connection stability. It may only affect a minor segment of the user base, but they are still paying customers and should get some service.
  7. I agree, I think an update that fixes known issues and adds features would be much more feasible and much more important than a copy of Forge World. Although I think a new forge map about the size of Impact, but without a hole in the middle of the terrain would be a very nice DLC. Personally, I would love to have a map with a classic HALO tileset and, set on a Halo with the ring reaching into the background, just to see it rendered in the Halo 4 engine for old times sake. But as you said, fixing issues should come first. What I have noticed, is that the magnets are not exact, as you mentioned. But I don't think it is an issue of them shifting after being placed. What I have noticed is that on many pieces the magnets on different sides of an object are not in precise alignment. With many of them it becomes extremely noticeable if you snap several of the same object together in a row, as the misalignment will cause an increasing offset. There are few features that are not fixes, but that I REALLY think they need to add for usability's sake; don't have any idea how hard it would be to do so, but here they are: A grouping option. Let me bind sets of blocks into groups so that I can build a structure, group it, and copy the whole thing to another part of the map The ability to mirror objects. Not sure why it isn't there already. Mirroring objects is really easy and a fundamental tool in most 3D modeling software. At the least, they could make mirrored versions of the asymmetrical pieces available in the structures list.
  8. They could easily introduce a rouge human faction to fight. They already have the A.I. figured out for the marines and Spartans that accompany you in the missions. Even though this would be the easiest way to add new enemies, I doubt they would do it because it would break the whole "humanity against the universe" narrative they got going in Halo. As for some of the other ideas mentioned, I don't see how they could justify bringing the flood back, considering they're all supposed to be eradicated, but it could be cool to see 343's take on the flood. They can bring back the Brutes, but they and the Elites aren't supposed to be on good terms since Halo 3. Personally, I think it's about time they add a new species to the Covenant. They are supposed to be a hegemony that incorporates any new races it finds into their ranks, so it easily fits the cannon of Halo to add new units to the Covenant whenever they wish. What could really make for interesting new enemy types, is Covenant species converted by the Composer. The Promethean Knights are Forerunners and Humans converted by the Composer, so I wonder what crazy construct types could be made from other species.
  9. Undo. Like seriously, where is my undo button. Also, why can't a group objects so that I can move them all at the same time, copy multiple objects at once, or apply the same advanced attributes to the whole group? These are basic level features in any other kind of editor. Forge is great, but these two (normally) basic features would make it a lot less tedious. Also, that.
  10. Hi guys, we got a lot of interesting Forge maps circulating on the forums, and several topics devoted to getting people together to play-test them, but I would like to set up something a little more organized. I'm going to begin scheduling Game-Test Nights in an effort to give all us Forgers a chance to play our maps with full parties! For this first outing we will focusing on big team maps, so check out the details below: Game Night! Big-Team Battle / 8v8 Objective Map-Test Sunday Jan. 6th, 8 PM Eastern Standard Time To join, send a message to Gamertag "Rev Righteous" with the text "game night." You'll receive a friend invite in response. Have a big-team map you want tested? Post in this topic before Sunday night with the name of your map and the details of it. Get online at 8pm EST on Sunday Jan 6th (this Sunday) and look for the party Invite from Rev. Share your feedback for the maps in this topic! We aren't just playing, we're play-testing! Remember, the focus for this night is big team maps, so submit your maps and invite anyone you know so we can get a full lobby of 16 going. See you Sunday! Keep you eyes on the forum, as I hope to post future game nights on a regular basis. Game Night Map Submission - Broadside First up, I'm subbitmiting my own map for the night; check out this preview and submit yours to! Name: Broadside Players: 8v8 Gametypes: Dominion, CTF, Big-team Slayer Description: "The UNSC salvage ship 'Hand-to-God' never saw combat until recovery of a Forerunner artifact drew unwanted attention..." The idea for this map is to have a large spaceship being attacked and boarded by a team of banshee pilots. The defenders must risk crossing the open and exposed areas of the ship in their defense vehicles to race the attackers to the objectives on top of the ship. The main aspects I need to test is if it is too easy for one team or the other to get to the objectives. The DOM bases are at the top back on the conning tower, at the top front in the bunker, an in the ship bridge. (Pro tip: if you get stuck on the asteroid behind the ship, there is a teleport back to the ship inside the artifact base) Also, banshees are really powerful, so balancing the defenders defensive weapons, available cover, and vehicles is a challenge. I have several ideas of how to modify/finalize the map, and a good play-test should help me identify the right direction to take it in! Pics Below (until they get Fileshare up and running, some sloppy TV pics will have to do)
  11. Feel freed to add me, Gamertag: Rev Righteous
  12. I'm down. Gamertag; Rev Righteous East-coast USA (EST)
  13. I've seen a few maps use different colored lights to great effect, so I suggest that as well. Another simple trick, is under the settings to any item, you can change it's team designation (Attacker-blue, defender-red, and so-on.) On building and blocks, this changes the stripes from grey to the team color, so you can make each section of the map striped in different colored bands for zone indication or use it to identify team bases.
  14. Quite chock full of maps for a first post! I'll be sure to add you and try out the maps. I've got my first map submission almost ready, but here you got 5. Sounds like the you're right guy to play-test with.
  15. cool, I'll check it out. I like the construction site theme you chose; might have been cool to leave a few of the buildings looking unfinished like they were still under construction.
  16. I'm down as well; gamertag is: Rev Rigtheous. Just let me know when you plan to get a game going
