Wow I cant believe I missed that.... Perhaps its because I was expecting something longer or who knows. All I know is I apparently skipped right over it. I am going to facepalm my face a few times now.

I usually don't do long ones, i got tired of writing my own plot reviews after the first one. lol.

Saints Row 2 Review

Saints Row 2 follows your character from SR1, who wakes up from a Coma 4 years after Julius tried to kill him in an explosion.

He wakes up in prison, and meets fellow inmate Carlos Mendoza, who helps you escape. You then find out that the Saints no longer exist, and there are three new Gangs in their place, The Brotherhood, The Ronin, and The Sons of Samedi. You rescue Johnny Gat from his trial in which he is trying to appeal over 300 convicted murders. You learn more has changed in the past few years, including that a corporation known as Ultor (The Evil Company from Red Faction) Has taken over the city, by funding it's reconstruction. You then make a new HQ, Recruit three lieutenants (Carlos, Pierce, and Shaundi.) And proceed to take back the city.

Gameplay - The game play is fun, and focused on Mayhem. Driving is fun and some cars can reach ridiculous speeds. Gun play is simple, and your character is ridiculously accurate. Also apparently you can heal your self after being shot 3000 times by eating a burger. But, the focus of this game is not realism, or challenge, but pure, raw, stupid fun. Also From the first Voalition added in Motorcycles, Helicopters, and Planes.

Sound - The guns are passable in the sound area, but that's hardly a condemning point. The soundtrack is expansive, covering Hip-Hop, Country, Metal, Techno, Reggae, Alternative, Classic Rock, even Classical and Easy Listening. The dialogue is Humorous, and the people walking around Stilwater spew hilarious lines at the drop of a hat, or the firing of a gun, as the case may be.

Graphics - The cartoony kind of graphics aren't great, but they are complimentary to the Humor of the game.

Rating - 8.5/10 Saints Row has always been a favorite series of mine, and the extensive Customization is one of the main reasons why.

Oh really... didn't know that. So would you recommend me to buying Fallout 3?

Yes. yes I would.

Sly 4: Thieves in Time

Now, let me get one thing straight. I love Sly Cooper. It's probably my favorite IP, and character from a game. But I was a little apprehensive when I saw a new game was being made, but not by Suckerpunch. I looked into Sanzaru Games however, and was immediately interested. They are a small, independent developer, That believes every game needs to have a certain level of quality.

And they didn't disappoint. Sly 4 is a match fit for the series, Making me wax nostalgic almost every time I played it. truthfully, my only complaint is I wish they hadn't put their logo on so many in-game things, but that hardly detracted from the game.

The game begins with a cutscene. Now.... let me first tell you about how these were done.

In the original trilogy, the cutscenes that weren't using in game graphics, or a Binocucomm conversation, were done in a comic-y style.

if there was any motion, it was minimal and very plain looking.

In Sly 4, every cutscene not in game, Is a fully animated, well drawn, cartoon. I'm not really sure why, but this felt like a bonus to me.

Anyway, the game begins with a cutscene, talking about Sly's history. And sets the scene.

He has been living in Paris with his Girlfriend, Interpol officer Carmelita Fox, who was, until the events of Sly 3, dead set on arresting Sly. He had faked amnesia in order to pursue a relationship with her, and worked with her as her partner at Interpol. After a while, he felt like he needed to pull a heist,  as being a thief was (Quite literally) In his blood. Bentley shows up and tells him there's a problem. The pages of the Thievius Raccoonus (The "Bible of Thieving" So to speak, and The Cooper family heirloom) Were disappearing. He tells him that the Cooper history is being erased, and they have to find a way to stop it. to do so, Bentley has managed to build a time machine out of the Cooper Gang's trademark van. All he needed was to get an object from the period of time they wished to travel to, which in this case was feudal era Japan. Sly, with the help of Bentley, and Murray (The gang's third member.) steals an ancient Katana on display in a wealthy aristocrat's museum, but not before being discovered by Carmelita. They then escape the museum's Army-like security, by going back in time to Japan.

Having typed that out... I realize how strange this game is when one isn't playing it. O_O

Graphics - Take the original graphics from the third game, give them a major overhaul. The cel-shaded graphic give the game a cartoony style to compliment it's over the top action and goofy humor, and the in game cutscenes are actually well made, not recycling animations.

Gameplay - Exactly the same as 1, 2, and 3, with some new additions and tweaked to make the controls extremely responsive. A fun Action platformer, and a good measuring stick for the Genre.

Sound - The voice acting is brilliant and funny, the music is as catchy as ever, and the minor sound effect and ambient noise are all good quality.

Final rating - 10/10

This game is a fresh experience, and a good break from the run of the mill games that have been released as of late, funny, considering this games format is based on Playstation 2 games. If you have a PS3, and you are a fan of the Sony Mascots (Ratchet, Jak, Sly) definitely pick this up. I'm already excited for the sequel!

Little Big Karting.

So, off the bat, I love LBP. It's such a fresh kinda game, which is funny because the Side-scrolling Platformer has been around since gaming's inception.

But it's not just a Side-scroller. It's what ever you, or the community can make it.

And they decided to come out with a car racing game.

Now, when I heard about it, I thought,

"Oh yeah, Just rip off Modnation Racers. That's just fine, I liked you Media Molecule, now I'm not sure."

Well, that was before I heard LBPK was being developed by the same company that made Modnation Racers, United Front Games.

As for the "story" its about some kinda group of thingy's called The Hoard. (No, that's not a typo. they spell it like that because it's a group of people who steal things and hoard them.) And you have to race a kart to stop them. Pulitzer winning it is not. Fun? You bet your Soon-to-be-made-of-burlap Behind it is.

Graphics - The cartoony fun graphics make a return, but with a lighting change that makes them pop, and looks very nice.

Sound - Silly sound effects, and foot tappin' music make this game a blast to listen to.

Gameplay - A run of the mill Kart racer, with a splash of major customization. it's a fun experience, and the Kart racing genre is a formula that never gets old. So grab a controller, Grab a friend, and laugh as you hit them with yet another missile.

Final rating - 7.5/10. A fun game to play with friends, with a near infinite Replay value with it's track builder, online community, and the fact that you can break the mold to make almost any kind of game. A definite play, but the low rating is only because, when's the last time you've been blown away by a Kart racer?

I rest my case.

So, for those of you with a PC and Steam. (and who actually read these.) I've decided to review a free-to-play game on the steam market that I believe deserves a good try.

APB: Reloaded

Now, APB: Reloaded is a remake of the Ill-fated APB, a subscription based MMO-shooter Produced by Realtime Worlds, the company behind Crackdown.

Then, on September 16th 2010, They announced the servers would be shut down. The game had been panned by Critics, largley do to the unrefined driving and shooting controls, and the backlash from the developer denying any reviews until a week after release.

Then, a glimmer of hope! A company known as K2 Network purchased APB, and announced that a free to play remake would be released, under the Title APB: Reloaded.

The story takes place in a city dubbed San Paro. Where crime isn't just a problem, it's a menace. The city is practically helpless to stop the gangs of the city. Then they enacted the City Security Act, an act which allowed any citizen with a gun to sign up with a Law enforcement agency, take to the streets, and take out criminals of any kind. From vandals to murderers, anyone was open game, and there was no bag limit. Thus, the Enforcers were born.

Players start by picking a side, Crim' or Cop, as they are referred to in short, and you make your Character. Now here is where APB stands out. It's character customization is amazing. The amount of, for lack of a better word, Crap you can do with your character is astounding, making every single character unique. you start with a basic outfit, but as you complete a few missions, more clothes can be unlocked. These range from specifically designed clothes, to templates to make your own, using the extensive graphic designer.

The customization doesn't end there. You can create your own Graphitti, customize a Car, right down to the sound the horn makes, customize tactical gear, and even make a song to play when you kill a player.

APB's major selling point is it's customization.

Gameplay has to basic modes.

Action districts are Plain old PVP. Shoot them, get shot by them.

City districts are objective based games in a large environment. Objectives can range from holding a hill, to tagging graphitti (or covering it, if you're a Cop.) to escorting a car, to raiding apartments. All the while, you and your gun happy comrades blast away at your opposition.

You advance in the game by "Pledging" to handlers from different orgaizations. On the Enforcers, The Praetorians and the Prentiss Tigers will be your main source of work. On the Crims', The G-Kings, and Blood Roses will send you out to do damage.

Now, playing as Criminals and Enforcers is obviously different. And actually, it is harder to play as an Enforcer, but you level up quicker.

Criminals can gain extra experience by mugging civilians, While Enforcers get massive bonuses by using non-lethal weapons to arrest criminals. That.... is..... HARD.....

Criminal players know they are worth big cash and standing if they get arrested, so they tend to arm up with shotguns to keep Enforcers out of Tazer range, but non-lethal guns are available too. they just kinda suck.

Gameplay - The problems that plagued the original APB have all but disappeared. the game plays a lot better, but rewards a good computer and a fast connection. The extensive character customization will keep you playing for a long time.

Graphics - The graphics are pretty good, but still retain a little bit of an animated style.

Sound - The gun sounds are passable, and the cars engines all sound different. The sound track is good, but only comes into play in the Waterfront, (The social/shopping zone) And when you are in a car.

Community - Some of the people on here are fun to talk to, but there are a lot of people who are really unsavory characters. Don't take this to heart though. it's the same everywhere else.

Final rating - 8/10. A fun game, a good time waster, and hey, It's free.

See ya next time!

So, another review. I wonder if anyone will read this one? Nope. Prolly not.

SSX 3.

The SSX series started on the PS2 as a no boundaries snowboarding game, where the tricks are huge, and the characters are even wilder than the tricks.

SSX Tricky is where it hit big, but not where it hit the mark.

SSX 3, on the other hand, was pure gaming bliss.

The game has a cast of extremely colorful characters.

Psymon Stark, Described as a Natural Disaster waiting to happen. he thrives on chaos, and has broken almost every part of his body. He also broken anything that can be broken. usually with a part of his body, See the relation? It's his second time on the tour.

Moby Jones, A U.K. Funk Junkie who never loses his cool. He's one of the returning veterans.

Kaori Nishidake, A Hyper happy Japanese girl, who can never lose her sunny disposition. Also a veteran.

Zoe Payne, A fan Favorite and a Motocross champion. Don't mistake Goth for Emo around her. you won't live through the reprisal. Another veteran.

Elise Riggs, Actor, Model, and SSX veteran. what's not to like?

Mackenzie "Mac" Fraizer, (My personal favorite) Is one of the youngest competitors, but it's his third tour. He's a self styled DJ, who always rides to his own soundtrack.

Some new faces include Allegra Sauvagess, A new arrival, but an Uber talented rider. (Get it, UBER?... if you played the game that would be funny to you.)

Viggo Rolig, A Swedish Ladies man, and Party animal.

Nate Logan, A down home country boy, and a natural born rider.

And finally Griff Simmons. A twelve year old, Sugar stoked engine of riding skill. (A funny thing, he actually becomes the antagonist in the reboot that just came out.)

So pick one. they all start with the same skills, but different Uber tricks. (Uber. See? there. the point of the game is to do Uber tricks. that was the joke earlier.) All the characters have more clothing you can purchase later, along with unlock-able boards and gear when you win events.

The game Is a dream to play, smooth, interesting, and fun. You advance by beating three races, or the Slope Style, Big Air, and Super pipe trick events, then you challenge the peak boss. (Unless you play as one of them, they are always 1: Mac, 2: Nate, 3: Psymon)

Once you beat them, you go for a time trial, or a high score run of the Peak. Leading to the grand event, A time trial, or a score run of the whole mountain.

The peaks each have their own vibes.

Peak 1 is the easiest, and it's major problem is avalanches in the back country.

Peak 2 is experiencing major storms, including ridiculous winds that toss you around like a paper bag.

Peak 3 is the be all end all, with major Ice chunks breaking, planes crashing and general chaos as you ride it with style.

Gameplay: Beautiful controls, awesome tricks, and a refreshing game mechanic all make this game a fun experience that never gets old.

Graphics: Cartoony, but in a good way. fantastic graphics for the original Xbox.

Sound: This is where the game sells itself, Not only are the Characters all voice acted and have ridiculous personalities, but the games sounds great, and the sound track? Don't get me started. a mix of Hip-Hop, Electronica, and Alternative give this game a soundtrack that keeps it rfresh and sets you in a mood to pull off Amazing tricks. (Snowboard Kickflips anyone?)

Final rating: 9.5/10

The sound track, characters, and gameplay are all extremely pleasing. If you asked me to give a reason why it's not a 10, I couldn't explain it in a way that's satisfactory. My main reason would be, snowboarding games are a small genre for a small market, and this game just didn't get the attention it needed.

Conker: Live and Reloaded

Now, this friggin' game....... God. Damn.

Conker: Live and Reloaded was an Original Xbox remix of the Cult classic Conker's Bad Fur Day on the N64. A game with Cute and Lovable animal characters, who get drunk, kill each other, swear like sailors, and urinate in public.

Charming.

Don't get me wrong though, this games a blast. The humor is raunchy, but in a society that still thinks Family Guy is funny, this game fits right in, with more talented writing. The game makes a lot of jokes about how the game designers changed parts of the game from the original, one incident in particular, the switch from Conker using a frying pan, to a blood drenched, nail filled, bat.

Other than a few minor changes, and a huge graphical overhaul, the game remains the same as the N64 version.

The story literally consists of crap that happens as Conker tries to get home. Along the way the game makes references to Movies such as Van Helsing, Saving Private Ryan, The Matrix, and Alien.

Now, for the LIVE portion.

The online/ Multiplayer portion of the game follows the war between the SHC (That's Squirrel High Command) and the Tediz (Zombie Nazi Teddy bears. Adorable.)

You play story based missions with objectives similar to CTF, King of the hill, and others.

The game plays as a third person, class based shooter.

The Classes range from your basic Grunt, to the sword wielding Sneaker, to the big, dumb, dangerous Heavy, to the maniac Thermophile.

Every class has specific weapons, gear, and abilities, as well as vehicles. for example, the Grunt can spawn a Jeep or a Quad, while the Sky Jockey can only spawn a jet. The thermophile can span a jeep too, but instead of a machine gun, it has a flame thrower. The heavy gets a tank. 'nuff said.

Graphics - as a remake of an N64 game, in comparison, this game is beautiful

Gameplay - some times you may hit a spot where the platforming or combat gets painful. but otherwise this game is fun.

Sound - the music is great, and the voice acting is humorous. making this game a great time waster.

Final rating - 8/10

Conker: Live and Reloaded is a rare find now, and I'm lucky to have kept my copy, as it fetches anywhere from 80-170 dollars on Ebay.

:/ guess I'll do a review.

Alliance of Valiant Arms.

A.V.A. is a free to play game put out by Aeria Games, and available on Steam. It is your run of the mill Multiplayer FPS, in which you can earn money to buy weapons and gear, or spend real money to get rare things and really get ahead of the opposition.

Gametypes include deathmatches, CTF, and a few more interesting types to make the game stand out a bit. One of which is a competitive Game in which one team escorts a tank across the map, while the other team runs around to find RPGs to disable it, buying them time to win the game. A "flood" Kind of gametype called Infection is also a favorite, I don't really need to explain it more do I? My personal favorites are the co-op games, which pit you and up to 5 others against swarms of A.I. of differing types. Sometimes you're stopping a prison breakout, fighting Inmate with improvised weapons, other times, Vicious robots.... Yup... Robots... They even have minibosses. then an actual boss robot... Cool...

The game is pretty straight forward, running on a three class system. Pointman, using SMG's. Rifleman. Do I need to say it? and Sniper. once again, pretty self-explanatory.

Other then that, there's not much to the game. It's fun, but hardly something you'd dedicate yourself to, like Counter-Strike.

Final rating: 6/10.

So I had the Idea to record my reviews and make a pretty little presentation to go with them, but I haven't gotten to it yet. But I will be doing it eventually, and you get to hear my awesome voice....

Slender

Yeah, I'm doing it.

For those of you who don't know, please crawl out from the particular internet rock you've been hiding under and gather 'round.

Slenderman is a creepy pasta that was first created on the Something Awful forums by a user named "Victor Surge". His invention was a faceless tall man with long arms and legs, in a dark suit who would show up randomly around children, often in pictures, and the children would later disappear.

make-creepy-slender-man-costume-for-hall

After a few people added onto it, Slender Syndrome was developed, The tell-tale sign that Slenderman was targeting you. You'd develop Shakes, Coughs, Migraines, You'd hear static, and your vision would fuzz up, and you'd start becoming delirious and develop Amnesia.

slender_man_by_semlimit-d58x3tk.jpg

Then it got creepy.

Someone (Who should really see a psychiatrist.) Came up with what Slender does to his victims. He'd lure them out into the woods and toy with them, driving them to madness before taking them, impaling them on a tree..... taking out their organs..... putting them in plastic bags.... and putting them back.....  :shok:

slenderman__bloody_dreams_by_barongraphi

Now, Slenderman was doing alright. Then a fateful thing happened.

An independent studio known as Persec Productions made a free downloadable game dubbed Slender: The Eight Pages, or Slender for short. The game was built on the unity engine and Has since seen Slenderman cast into the Internet spotlight, adding the Pages, the woods, and various other things to his already horrifying persona, and making him a pop culture Icon.

Disney-the-slender-man-32049894-480-300.

Now the game it's self makes itself on atmosphere. The dark large woods with the ambience that adds in as you collect pages. the fact that Slender can,and will show up anywhere, is maddening. But....

The fact that the pages are so hard to find can really ruin the game. My first experience with it was a four hour walk around as I tried to find a single page, before quitting. Now I know some people may say this difficulty is what makes the game, but I didn't enjoy wandering through the woods alone. I can do that myself. If they wanted to make it a bit more interesting, you could have coded things slender does to mess with you, for instance, there's one building in the game that is entirely empty, except for two chairs. It wouldn't have been much of a stretch to make them follow you when you aren't looking. Once again, my opinion, but this really bothered me.

Now, I know the Unity engine isn't the best thing out there, but Slender's lack of an animation, and downright shoddy model can break the immersion at times. I shouldn't go from whimpering in terror, to giggling as he ominously slides toward me. But then again, I'm sure just coding Slender's A.I. must've taken most of the development time, and by the time it was done I probably would've just wanted to release the game too. I'm not saying that's what happened, but It seems like a possibility.

Overall, without the atmosphere, the game is mediocre, but it's due to it's atmosphere that made it popular. So in the long run, It's a good game.

Final rating: 8/10

Slendy's also had a mass of other games, as well as making tiny cameos in countless others. If you get the chance, look up Haunt: The Real Slender Game... omg scariness.

*Runs away screaming*
