Why People are Hating on 343

I agree, Halo is Halo. While there might be some people in 343 from treyarch and activision, it's not like CoD doesn't have any good aspects or innovations.

I laugh at people when they say "Halo is Not Turning into COD", because it's wrong, it is, the developers even said they were giving it the "COD treatment" obviously most people here are too busy worshipping 343 to see that their beloved is being turned into a frankengame.

Giving it the CoD treatment =/= turning it into CoD. Halo will always have many things that CoD doesn't.

1. Vehicles, and maps that support vehicles.

2. A steep learning curve (it's famous for it in fact).

3. New things added to it.

 

I'm afraid you've been infected with something known as a "logical fallacy". The arguments you've been presenting have a touch of formal fallacy to them. Let me explain.

 

You figure:

Halo is adding gameplay mechanics from CoD, therefor Halo will continue adding gameplay mechanics from CoD, therefor Halo will become CoD and is turning into CoD.

 

However, since the second inference is nothing but conjecture, that means that the rest of your argument (forgive the use of an old and tired meme here) is invalid.

 

Since you do not have enough evidence to support the second string, you are using what is known as an "inflammatory argument" in the hopes that other people will believe the way you do. Here's the chain that usually applies to inflammatory arguments.

 

1. Issue inflammatory argument.

2. Inflammatory argument is met with resistance.

3. Issue further inflammatory arguments.

4. If that fails, mock those who do not "buy into it", or express sympathy for them in a mocking manner.

Alright think of this, you have a variety of colors to use. The color that defines you and has defined you in the past is Green. Now theres another color that is pretty good, you are not going to use all of the other color because then you wouldnt be doing anything new. You will use this new color a little bit here and a little bit there. To make new masterpieces you have to adapt and try new things.

As things change, new things are taken that have worked or are working. COD has taken ideas from other things as well so Halo is not just taking ideas from COD if it wasnt orginally theirs to begin with.

How do you know that? As far as we know 343 could have a COMPLETELY different development team for Halo 5. Halo:Reach didn't turn out how we imagined the next Halo after 3, Halo 4 isn't how we imagined the next Halo after Reach, so how do you figure Halo 5 will turn out how you speculate it to be?

Well that's just arrogant. There is absolutely no way to know if you're right or not. We're not kissing 343i's ass, we're simply taking into account that 343i is made up of Halo fans like us, so it's not wrong to speculate, be skeptical or be a fan of what 343i is doing. Except that CoD does not have weapons on the map, large maps, vehicles, forge, shields, or a canon so large and intricate that they've had to add books to it to tell the whole story. You can add every single feature of Call of Duty into Halo and Halo still won't be CoD for these reasons. As long as they keep power weapons spawning on the map instead of in player's hands, vehicles, larger maps for sniping and vehicle gameplay, forge, and a great story then Halo will never be CoD.

 

No matter how much vanilla pudding you add to chocolate pudding, it will never be vanilla pudding.

 

As far as kissing 343i's ass, idgaf about 343i. I don't care WHO makes Halo, just as long as they don't break it. If you don't believe that, you should check out some of my earliest posts here. I learned my lesson about worshipping GD's with Bungie, who broke the canon and then instead of releasing corrections simply said "The games are primary canon." THAT ticked me off. Not to mention how OP AL could be, Jetpacks on maps that shouldn't have them (like Caged), and a forge world maps released as in game content.

 

I call it as I see it as well, and if 343i does crap like that I'm going to be up in arms too. However, at this point in time it's not only unnecessary, it's ignorant.

Super simplified, yes, that's exactly what it is.

Imagine it all like a weed, it takes only 1 plant to doom your yard to enteral weed damnation. It WILL start with the small stuff and no body's willing to pull the weed before it spreads and when this stuff is neglected log enough, you've lost your yard.

The only thing I am not pleased with is the blatant ploy to make more money. Not including the Strider, Scanner, and Falcon emblem with the LE is a joke when they come with the regualr War Games Map Pass. Also making people pay for seasons of Sprtan Ops to get the achievements that come along with them is a crude ploy. Retailer exclusive pre-order bonuses and the later release of a Pre-Order Bonus DLC pack (mentioned by Frank O'Connor) is a blatant ploy to make more money. Personally for their first Halo game besides CE Anni 343i is bieng crude and unfair to their fanbase...

But it all depends how you look at it. Im sure if these "weeds" dont work out they will be ripped out, roots and all, by next season. Or another way to say it is the additions wont be put into the next game.

Honestly, I never thought any change to halo was bad. I loved halo wars, since I was always a strategy fan, and I enjoyed reach. I actually consider halo reach my favorite game of all time. And with the mechanics We've seen so far in the gameplay, combined with 343's fantastic job on CE, I have no worries for the next installment of this beloved trilogy.

 

BTW 343 is the exact number of firefighters who died on 9/11. Just saiyan
