War Games Maps

Haven

Haven is a multiplayer map in Halo 4 that rests high above Requiem's surface. Harmonic-resonance platforms appear to facilitate the monitoring and management of the shield world's solar preservation system. These elaborate machines enable artificial planets to support their immense populations of indigenous life. GAME PLAY VIDEO

ADRIFT

Adrift is a map in Halo 4. Although this CAA mining vessel was refitted as an ordnance transport, damage sustained during the Battle of Kholo has condemned it to an inescapable slide down the gravity well of a gas giant. On board, its automated systems continue unabated, their operations executed in eerie futility as they drift ever-closer to destruction.

LONGBOW

Longbow is a multiplayer map in Halo 4. The frigid climate and unique gravitational conditions of Concord's northern polar region provide an optimal perch for Longbow Station's channel-based mass drivers. Before the Covenant War, the UEG launched deep space monitoring relays from here in an effort to study far-flung star systems. GAME PLAY VIDEO

Abandon

Abandon is an asymetrical, close-quarters (4v4) multi-player in Halo 4 that was announced on October 2, 2012. The map contains a forest with a science station. In the lab there are creatures visible in tanks that are native to the yet-unnamed planet.

Meltdown

Vortex

The Forerunner structures which occupy Requiem’s equatorial caverns appear to generate power by harnessing its violent squalls. Onsite personnel believe that a full understanding of such a technology would offer the UEG substantial amounts of affordable, clean energy. Nevertheless, its internal mechanisms remain enigmatic.

Crimson Map Pack (Dec. 10)

Wreckage

Wreckage is the manifestation of the chaos of war. A medium-sized, asymmetrical map great for accommodating a wide range of objective-based game modes including King of the Hill and Capture the Flag, it is a ravaged environment of crashed debris, where the surrounding destruction creates complex paths perfect for throwing off your opponents, or testing the limits of your Warthog. This devastated landscape provides plenty of cover, and tons of nooks and crannies are at your disposal while fighting for your turn to become King. Wreckage supports up to 16 players in Infinity Slayer and up to 12 players in a variety of other modes, including Capture the Flag, King of the Hill and Oddball.

Harvest

Harvest is a canon concept brought to life – the doomed agricultural planet where humans first made contact with the Covenant. A small to mid-size map, Harvest is ideal for Capture the Flag. Here, you’ll need to get creative to effectively use light vehicles which are limited to the exterior pathways and can’t get into the bases, making this map perfect for infantry firefights and face-to-face skirmishes. Snipers will also feel right at home; long sightlines are broken up by great cover and hiding spots. Harvest allows up to 12 players to face off in Capture the Flag, Infinity Slayer, King of the Hill, SWAT and Slayer Pro.

harvest_env_3.jpg

Shatter

Shatter is themed around natural crystalline surfaces and the huge UNSC factories mining them. This large, symmetrical map is a playground for the Warthog and Mantis - its open pathways make it easy to get around, whether on foot or in vehicles. Shatter is a great fit for Dominion and the new game type Extraction. For some close-quarters face-time, escape the open landscape and duck into a mining facility, or slip through a doorway and hunt unsuspecting Spartans. This map has variety for different types of players. Shatter enables multiplayer mayhem for up to 16 players in Infinity Slayer and up to 12 players in other modes, such as Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, Dominion and Extraction.

Majestic Map Pack Feb 25

Landfall

The world of Tribute is now a graveyard, but its capital was once a bright beacon of commerce among the inner colonies. Fight in the corridors and courtyards of Casbah’s port authority buildings, but don’t stand still too long. Perfect for Infinity Slayer, this small to midsize asymmetrical map offers interiors with sparse cover, which encourages close-range combat, while the exteriors offer long lines of sight to stalk your opponents. Awesome jump routes let players spring around the outside of the map, incidentally offering a perfect view of the city as it is razed by the Covenant’s brutal assault.

Monolith

Adrift in a forgotten asteroid belt…
This monument and many like it were built by the Forerunners after their final victory over the ancient humans. This small map has central man-cannons, short corridors, almost no cover, and open sightlines which make the location great for a mixture of close and mid-range battle. Monolith harkens back to more classic “Halo” arena-based maps, and its symmetry lends nicely to objective-based modes like Capture the Flag. Monolith is an open battlefield; wherever you look, you will witness the ferocious action that only a small and open map can provide.

Skyline

Combat analysts agree…
The rooftop terrain on this new space tether construction site is an ideal training environment for close-quarters infantry combat. This map, perched high above the sights of reconstruction in Cascade’s capital city, is small and symmetrical, perfect for Regicide with a mixture of high and low spaces and plenty of cover. Don’t think cover means you’re safe, however – this map holds explosive fuel cells that can and will wreak havoc in Skyline’s confined spaces, not to mention the long, long drop if you misstep.

Castle Map Pack April 8  Trailer

Daybreak

Operation: DAYBREAK is a cluster of research facilities residing in the scenic highlands on the planet Oban. The map itself is comprised of two such UNSC facilities opposing each other in this large, asymmetrical map. Strategy here is key; teams must split focus between attacking the enemy base while playing close defense to their own.

Outcast

Set in a desert cliff environment, Outcast is a fortified network of rebel facilities hidden in one of Talitsa’s remote territories. Controlling vehicle paths is critical in the circular map. Outcast features frequent Mantis vs. Wraith battles, and teams must keep their drivers informed with constant communication to get the drop on enemy movement.

Perdition

New Carthage has always been a shining example of a healthy, growing colony, but hidden below the sky-high city of Pilvrosis this dangerous secret: One of the reactors is failing, and the entire city is now under evacuation. This large urban and industrial environment offers an up-close-and-personal view of the stunning yet unstable reactor and provides multiple vehicles, long sightlines and close quarters combat, catering to nearly any gameplay style.

just FYI. Frank O'Connor stated that there will be 10 War Games Maps and they will not be forge world made maps...so they will all be brand new War Games only made maps. Ravine is a forge world map and will not be a part of the 10 War Games maps that launch with the game. So we have seen 8 War Games maps so far and 1 Forge World map.

im looking foward to palying these but hope there is more bigger maps they look mostly slayer

Well according to the new walkthrough of Abandon with Kynan (lead designer of MM maps) the maps are all tailored to slayer but have been balanced to incorporate CTF and other Objective based games. So they will feel perfect for slayer games and will feel balanced for objective games like CTF. They all look good to me.

Only thin I have noticed is that there really is no need for the DMR unless you are playing BTB maps. The mid range weapons like the LR, BR, and Carbine will work great on all maps essentially. From my experience at SDCC the Carbine and LR are the best rifles in the game..the BR was good but couldnt come close to the RoF of the Carbine and the dual modes of the LR.

No problem and I'm hoping it has something to do with the mammoth. That or one of the maps in future dlc having the mammoth would be great.
