Welcome to the Staff vs Members Playdate!

The staff vs members playdate will take place August 11th starting at 00:00 and ending at 23:59. It will take place ALL day on the 11th, so don't worry if you have some shopping to do in the morning. The playdate will be hosted by the staff, and there will be teams of just 4 staff and members facing off in various gametypes. After each game, members will trade out so be sure to keep your eyes on the Shoutbox to see if you can join into the fun! Between each game there will be a five minute grace period so people can get snacks or use the bathroom.

To keep this interesting for the mods, the top two member players in each game (based off of rating score) will be given the option to stay in the game. The bottom two members will be eliminated and will have to either join in on a different hosted game or wait their turn.

Additionally, to keep it fair the staff members will choose the gametype every game (by majority consensus) and the members will choose the map (by majority consensus). If there is a tie, then the person at the top of the list of the opposing team will break the tie (e.g. if the staff can't choose the gametypes, then the member at the top of this list will also cast a vote towards the gametype, and vice versa).

To make this a bit more fun, if your team is winning, you are allowed to teabag! This applies to both members and moderators alike. If you feel like teabagging, but your team is not winning, then you better try harder to win! If you are losing and you teabag, your shennanigans will be recorded and you will mercilessly be called a newb for the rest of the day. :D

If you manage to steak your opponent (over 2x their amount of kills, e.g. 50-24) you will get a free picture of a steak sent directly to your 343i.org inbox! :D Mmm, free steak pixels! If you lost your game, then better luck next time around.

To join in this playdate, you must be a member of good standing (not banned) of www.343industries.org. This means that members will not be able to bring their friends unless they convince their friends to create a profile on 343i.org.

Slots in the games are on a first come first served basis, and the games will take place on Halo Reach. If you don't have it, then you have until August 11th to get the game. :D

The times set are EST. EST is +5hrs, in green, on this Time Zone map.

Sounds good, except that the the staff is part of our team and we will need to rotate out players as well. We are available at different times and depending on game type may want different staff in the game.

Will we playing a variety of game types? Slayer, Swat, Objective, MLG, etc. Will w be playing Vanilla or TU or ZB settings?

I was thinking two or three different lobbies (depending on how many staff can join) which can rotate players whenever they like. :D And staff choose the map, members choose the game type (based on majority vote).

Also, no one has seen the secret goldenrod message yet? ;D

Sounds cool. I'm in if I'm not too busy that day.

Just a suggestion, but you should also have a second customs lobby going for those waiting for a slot to open up.

What people do while they are waiting is their business, if they want to play some customs instead of talking in the shoutbox waiting for slots to open up, that's their call lol

You should add a list of members that will come

Why? This isn't a tournament, and sign up sheets are pointless unless I have to figure out exactly how many lobbies I need, which I don't because of the transfer thing I've set up :D

As I said, members are free to do what they want as they wait. If someone wants to set up a custom game lobby for people waiting, I'm not going to stop them. lol

I won't be able to make it because I will be at Raceway Park in New Jersey for the whole day on the Motocross Practice Track but I would love to see all of the footage of the August 11th game day though.

Well don't worry, if this becomes the success that AD and I are hoping it will, then we will probably do this every couple of months :)
