INFORMATION FOUND AT GAMESPOT [uPDATE] EA confirms next entry in shooter series, promises access to beta next year for those who preorder October's Medal of Honor Warfighter; "The Battlefield 3 story is still just the beginning," company says. This morning, Electronic Arts confirmed Battlefield 4, and said a beta for the new shooter will commence during fall 2013 for unspecified platforms. Gamers can get access to the trial period by preordering this October's Medal of Honor Warfighter. EA said more details regarding Battlefield 4 and its beta will be announced at a later date. Battlefield 4's beta will deploy next fall. Speculation concerning Battlefield 4 was sparked over the weekend, when EA's Origin webstore posted, and subsequently removed, promotional material for the game. [uPDATE] The official Battlefield website has been updated with a message from EA on Battlefield 4. The statement says the company has nothing further to share on Battlefield 4 at present, and talked up Battlefield 3 as a game still in its early stages. "Even with billions of bullets fired and millions of games played, we know the Battlefield 3 story is still just the beginning," reads a line from the statement. The existence of Battlefield 4 comes as little surprise. Battlefield 3 arrived in October 2011 to a warm critical reception and shipments of 15 million units. Additionally, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau said in November "there is going to be a Battlefield 4." Battlefield 4 may not be the only new franchise entry in the works. FOUND AT EGMNOW Microsoft is looking for a graphics developer to work on the “next generation of game visuals in the Halo universe,” at 343 Industries. The job ad on Microsoft’s careers site reads: “Microsoft Studios 343 Industries is looking for an experienced graphics developer to help create the current and next generation of game visuals in the Halo universe. Work on one of the most exciting and creative properties in the industry; Work with the incredible 343 team to help drive the future of Halo.” The ad also mentions that DirectX 11 experience is a plus, and considering that the Xbox 360 doesn’t support it, that tends to suggest a next-generation title. Unless the next Halo is also being developed for PC, which is unlikely. We already know that two more Halo games are planned in 343′s new series, and it appears that Halo 5 will be on Microsoft’s next-generation console, according to this advert. View full article

Due out in October for $50, the collection also packs in early access to the upcoming beta for the Frostbite 2-powered free-to-play Command & Conquer game, which arrives in 2013. 17 games from 17 years for $50. All games within the Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection have been updated for Windows 7 and Windows Vista. In the United States, it will be available online and at physical retailers. FROM GAMESPOT Czech developer Vatra Games' parent company Kuju Entertainment conducting "strategic review" of studio; no decisions have been made. Vatra Games' days may be numbered. Eurogamer Czech today reports that the Silent Hill: Downpour developer is now under "strategic review" by parent company Kuju Entertainment. "The new management team at Kuju have been conducting a strategic review of all aspects of the business," a Kuju representative told Eurogamer. "As part of this process, the ongoing business activities of the Vatra studio are currently under review. However, at this stage, no decisions have yet been made." Vatra Games' most recent title was Silent Hill: Downpour, which shipped in March to a generally favorable reception. Prior to that, the studio released Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network action side-scroller Rush'n Attack: Ex-Patriot. Eurogamer reports that Vatra was working on a God of War-style project, though the outlet claims this game has been canceled. Vatra Games, located in Brno, Czech Republic, was established in 2009 and currently boasts a staff of around 50. Up until last summer, it was led by former Take-Two Interactive and Microsoft Game Studios developer Matthew Seymour.

INFORMATION FROM G4TV Ubisoft is apparently planning to support Assassin's Creed 3 with enough DLC to warrant a Season Pass, based on a letter that the publisher reportedly sent to GameStop locations. A photo of the note, snapped by a store employee, is posted at Kotaku and it appears to be legit given its resemblance to other materials that Ubisoft has sent out in support of the game. The letter confirms that Ubi created a "complementary development team" that has been tasked with building "post-launch episodic content," DLC that fans will be able to buy either a la carte or in one go, via a Season Pass. That Season Pass will apparently be available for pre-order soon, provided of course that this letter actually is the real deal. I find the mention of "episodic content" noteworthy though; it certainly suggests that the DLC plans involve more than just multiplayer maps. We'll all find out soon enough. INFORMATION FROM GAMESPOT Blizzard announces Mists of Pandaria for September launch; details Collector's Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition. World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, the latest expansion to Blizzard Entertainment's massively multiplayer online role-playing game, will launch on September 25. The fourth add-on will be available in stores and online two months from today for $39.99 (£29.99 in the UK), with a Collector's Edition on sale for $79.99 (£59.99 in the UK). The World of Warcraft expansion introduces a new playable race and continent to the seven-year-old MMO game: the Pandaren, a race of panda-like martial artists, and Pandaria, their homeland. It also bumps the level cap to 90 and adds a new monk class. Pandaria lands in September. The Collector's Edition includes a behind-the-scenes DVD and Blu-ray, a soundtrack CD, an art book, and a mouse pad, as well as a special in-game pet and mount. In a bit of Blizzard game cross-promotion, the edition also features Starcraft II Battle.net portraits (infested orc and night elf templar) and a Diablo III banner sigil and accent with Pandaren markings. Players can prepurchase the digital download version of the game now on the official site. Blizzard is also offering a Digital Deluxe Edition ($59.99, £39.99) in which players receive the same digital bonus items that come in the Collector's Edition alongside their download of the expansion. If players pick up the standard version of the game and change their minds later, they will be able to purchase the extra in-game enticements of the Digital Deluxe Edition for $20. In addition to the English version, Mists of Pandaria will be localised into Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, European Spanish, Russian, Korean, traditional Chinese, and Italian. Blizzard says the availability of Mists of Pandaria in mainland China will be announced later. FROM GAMESPOT Creator Markus Persson reveals Xbox 360 version of open-world creation game goes triple platinum since launch in May, generating $60 million. If its record-breaking launch wasn't proof enough, Minecraft for the Xbox 360 is now a bonafide commercial success. Creator Markus Persson announced on Twitter today that the game has now sold 3 million copies on Xbox Live, generating $60 million since launch in early May. Minecraft for the Xbox 360 has dug out commercial success. "I got told Minecraft for XBLA passed three million sales today!" he wrote. Upon launch on May 9, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition became profitable in just one hour, selling over 400,000 copies during its first 24 hours on sale, and breaking all previous Xbox Live arcade digital sales records. The game reached 1 million in sales in just five days, and recorded more unique users on Xbox Live than Call of Duty: Black Ops for the week of May 14. The Dallas event, at November 2nd - 4th, which will include many other big games like SC2, LoL, will have halo re-added to the community, this will make many MLG members happy as recently there was a petition for the game to return to MLG. On The MLG Site, this is what they said about halo 4 returning to the competitive gaming company. "It is with great pleasure that we announce the return of the Halo franchise to the MLG Pro Circuit. Days before its official release on November 6, Halo 4 will be featured as part of the competition at the MLG Fall Championship in Dallas, November 2-4. Info Found by: SykoWolf Thanks to Waypoint User Noble Squash for pointing this out. If you look at the 2:15 mark in the recent behind the scenes video, towards the bottom left you will see an unidentified creature. This creature looks very similar to a crawler, but is slimmer and much more dog like. This can also be seen in the E3 trailer, but I didn’t think much of it back then. Now compare this with the original crawler and the more heavily armored crawler spotted in Spartan Ops. Some believe that the wolf-like promethean is just another class of crawler which varies in its strength and tactics from other crawlers. Perhaps it is the fastest/weakest type of crawler, because instead of having a fully armored pincer head, it has an exposed smaller head. Just a thought, either way I think it looks awesome. Sales of EA Sports' gridiron sim up 7 percent year-over-year, setting new record for current-gen; online first-day usage jumps 28 percent. Electronic Arts announced today that the newest gridiron football simulator, which launched Tuesday, sold 900,000 copies during its first 24 hours for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. This marks a 7 percent rise over last year's iteration, and represents the most successful Madden launch this console generation. Madden NFL 13 launched to nearly 1 million in sales. Sales figures for the Wii and PlayStation Vita versions of Madden NFL 13 were not announced. Madden NFL 13 also set a day-one online usage record, with peak simultaneous users jumping 28 percent over last year's first-day figures. This was found on Youtube By HaloTracker's Channel. It seems that the many complaints about the layouts before have been fixed and they seem to have gone back to default. Notice how B Is to crouch and LS is to use sprint On Default. (I Personally play Default so i have no idea about the rest.) Another Entry of BABHP Coming your way! The Secret To Zealot. when i think of Zealot, the first map that comes to me is Heretic (Halo 3) Or Midship (Halo 2). Not just because of the obvious Covanent/Purple design put on it, but because of the way it was played. Like most maps, Heretic/Midship was won by top control of the P's and Carbine's and Top mid, if you had that, you'd win since you can shoot down on your enemies and take control of the map. Zealot is slightly different, but the same concept never remains. There's no real way to control Zealot, as its so open, however, there are ways to get spawn traps and keep them in the base for a while. Lets start with, the Pillars/Landings. As you can see, the Pillars are a lead up from the lifts, so obviously, if you control the pillars, you control the lifts, but also you can watch people coming down from the bases and flags and put fire on them before they ever see you, Pillars are easily the most important part of the map as they are basically your way to see everything going in the map and they are essentially control points for if you want to control the map itself, however, there are other control points which are needed. The Top mid is also important, as obviously you can see everywhere, you can see down the spiral, basement, everywhere, everywhere that needs to be taken care of, you can take care of from there, it is essential you control these main points as this will win you the game. If i had to play Zealot right now, i'd play it like this TWO on pillars/Landings ONE on Top Mid ONE on Bottom Mid These means all of the points which they can stop you are covered, as they will not be able to get close to you. 2. Your Teammates and Teamwork. Most MLG pro players consider their teammates their best friends. This is because they do a lot of social activities together. Soccer, Night Clubs, even MLG games in the same room, all of this leads to socializing and as such leading to better teamwork as you will be so used to each other that, while it will take a bit of time, your teamwork will just flow like that. So, if you want to make a team, try and get a team of people who are close to you so then you can hang out more and get used to each other, and this will improve your team game play, which is essential for a game like Halo Reach since Teamwork is now so much more important and individual skill isn't so much. 3. Your Dream Setup A Setup is essential to any up and coming player in order to get good. It is essential you have a good setup in order to raise your game to the next level. A Setup is arguably the most important thing in a MLG player as if you don't have the right setup, it won't work out. DON'T BUY A HUGE TV. Buy a 22 Inch Asus. Why? Because BIG TV's have screen lag and as such this will make the game play rubbish and not worthwhile, getting a small TV with no screen lag is brilliant as then you will hit shots you are meant to hit and there will be no lag coming with it because of your Big TV. BUY GOOD HEADPHONES. Good headphones are essential as you will be able to hear things many players can't, such as a grenade change or weapon change, which as a result will help you to guess where the player is and kill him, and he will be like "How the F did he know i was there?" Well, with good headphones like Steelseries or Astros, your game play and communication will improve greatly. Chair and stuff isn't essential as it doesn't really matter. However, i recommend getting a controller you will get used to quickly as that controller will be your life gaming wise. You can't keep switching controllers as every controller is different and it will feel weird. 4. Sports and how they help. Sports keep you active, they keep you healthy, and they keep you in top shape. However, many sports help to speed up reactions, sports like Baseball and Football/Soccer help speed up reactions as you have to think quick and on your feet, and this will transfer into games like halo, as it is the same concept, you have to be quick and think fast if you want to live, Many Pros like Tsquared and FearItSelf Play Basketball and some do Yoga to relax and stuff, because competitive gaming can get very stressful, and basketball is also a good way of speeding up reactions as you have to decide when to pass or shoot very quickly and if you make a mistake, you can lose some points for your team, so sports are a major help in reactions and similar things required to improve gaming. 5. Overview of Halo 4 for Competitive Needs. If you haven't heard about Halo 4, you have been living under a rock, on a bridge, or somewhere where no people live, and there's no form of communication or technology in the world, however, if you are one of the many people who have heard about halo 4, you will have seen many features like AA's, permanent Sprint, Weapons, etc. But, how will these fit into competitive/MLG likeings? First off, we need a ranking system, competitive gaming thrived off the ranking system and halo 4 should be no different, it shouldn't be 1-50 however it shouldn't be XP based either, it needs to be bang in the middle where it is fair but also competitive, this will lead to more people playing the game and the game lasting much longer. Also, Im glad 343i have realised that many people want classic gameplay, and with that they have taken out everything and just left us with the core gameplay, this will make many halo 2 / halo 3 /MLG fans happy as they wanted to play the game in its barebones and without any Halo 4 added settings, this was a good move by 343 for its competitive crew. IMO i think many of halo 4 features, if tweaked properly, can be used in MLG / Competitive settings, but i want to play the game with settings and without, and then i will make a future thread about it. While discussing new Outlook email service, Microsoft general manager Brian Hall namedrops "New Xbox" but does not share more. After significant speculation spread over the span of years, Microsoft has finally spoken on-record about its next Xbox. During an interview with The Verge focused on Microsoft's new Outlook email service (embedded below), general manager Brian Hall name-dropped a "new Xbox." “We’ve had Hotmail and operated Hotmail for about 16 years, we obviously have Exchange, and Outlook, that people use at work. We just decided it was time to do something new and bring the best from each of those and put them together and release it right in time for the new wave of products that we could have coming out with Windows 8, with the new version of Office with the new Windows phone and the new Xbox,” Hall said. Hall did not share further details on the next Xbox. Windows 8 will launch on October 26 alongside Microsoft's new Surface tablet line. [uPDATE] Following the publication of this story, Microsoft issued a statement to GameSpot on the matter. “Xbox 360 has found new ways to extend the console lifecycle by introducing controller-free experiences with Kinect and re-inventing the console with a new dashboard and new entertainment content partnerships," reads a line from the statement. Ok I know this wouldn't be considered as gaming news but still interesting to post about. According to Mountain Dew's Facebook page there was an announcement that appears they will be releasing a Halo 4 edition of the drink.
