This forum is dedicated to MLG players and those who are serious about the competitive play. This not an area for casual players to post OP's or into threads unless the are absolutely serious about learning MLG game play.We ask that the MLG players appreciate that we have an active moderating staff and to report inappropriate comments or activity by using the report button located with each post. Feel free to discuss all manner of MLG play, game types, wants, needs and player invites for team tryouts. I like the street art feel to it. I would like to see more of your work. I will look at your portfolio and let you know. I have a fine art and graphic design background. Okay, it's later now. I checked out your portfolio. It is light on work, but what is there shows the trend in your work. The graffiti/street style gives a nice impact to your sigs and page design. You seem to have a good basic talent and a very creative side to you. What programs do you use? -

Judging from the Halofest interview they are aware and behind the PC community. The forthcoming new XBOX has been rumored to carry some unique features that are not quite clear to me, but that may be the time for the PC community to get attention. After the game is released there will be time for 343 to take a closer look at PC based gaming, if they are not already doing so. There was a direct question asked of the panel at Halofest about the mod community. I can not remember the exact response, but it is there. Mostly my opinion based on what I have read and seen.

Where each title may have had bloom, the spread at distance has increased and is much more noticeable in the single shot DMR vs the 3 rounds burst of the BR. The bloom seems more noticeable here than with any other weapon because it is the primary weapon of choice for most players. Where players may miss state cause and effect, that appears to be the main gist of the arguments. Hopefully a mute point when we see the weapons of Halo 4. In regards to "Armor Abilities" all you have mentioned where Covenant abilities, not human. Having them "magically" appear in a title that predates all prior Halo's and referring to Elites, Tatarus or the Arbiter do not give any weight to the fact that a Spartan should have them. The OP used the term sequel, which by definition means: a sequel portrays events set in the same fictional universe as a previous work, usually chronologically following the events of that work. Sprinting was not a part of the original Halo franchise, in fact the Master Chief always ran much faster than the average soldier. Just because another game had it does not mean it should be part of Halo 4. If so, you might as well argue the abilities of all other games to be integrated into Halo. It is true there were glitches in Halo 2, this happens in a brand new title being played "live" over XBOX and was part of Bungie's learning curve for Halo 3. It does not lessen the game, it just showed how some found and exploited these problems and others followed to compete with them. You are correct that Halo 3 was a more "polished" version of Halo 2 and as the OP stated, he feels Halo 4 should be a more "polished" version of H2 and H3. I don't see the argument. I could not agree with you more on this Mystic. I agree with or respect your other stated opinions and hopefully others can see a constructive and mature debate here, rather than the juvenile taunts and name calling that has begun this thread. -

In the first place, I agree with a small part of what the OP said and have quote it and altered, in green, my polite take on a statement made. In reference to "polished" game play, I believe the game does need to advance, but personally understand Reach was a stand alone game compared to the previous Halo's and should not have any of it's attributes brought forward into Halo 4. The statement I highlighted in Yellow is not only inaccurate, his personal opinion, but the final statement has garnished him a warning by me. I will be responding to other posts in this thread as time permits. We do appreciate a lively discussion on topics, but I will be watching this thread personally and believe me you had better keep it clean. Get your point across without the immature name calling and personal attacks. -

Agreed, my points intent was to show a desire of wanting all new content from Halo 4, whether it be the shipped maps or DLC. I have certainly admitted my love for maps of Halo past and the basic feel and quality of design can easily be put into new maps instead "reskinning" the surfaces of old ones. I had not direct intent of implying a cannon departure in MM. For the sake of discussion, if the of Halo 4 are still playable in MM in Halo 5 due to a "preplanned" design of Halo 4, that would be a great way to bring maps forward into a new game. I would rather see a separate disk, or DLC, that had the "Map Classics" which contained ............. 16 of the all time favorites. Worthy of a purchase in my opinion.

There was a time back in early Halo days that I was unable to play certain game types unless I had down loaded the required DLC for the game. It was irritating due to the fact that for one, I had already paid a premium price for the game, and two, unless I shelled out the additional $10.00 I could no longer play the game types that I wanted to. This was later changed so that there was a DLC play list that included a variety of game types, but to this day you still must have the DLC to play Skirmish in H3 for example. Typically this is not an issue since most buy copies of ODST/Halo 3. Since the arrival of Reach I have purchased all DLC and rarely am offered the chance of playing on the maps unless I enter a DLC game search. I like Highlands, Breaskpoint and Anchor 9 and yet rarely play them. I do end up playing a serious amount of forge creations from the community. So hear are the questions. Within Halo itself, I see forge being the predominant provider of new maps for the community to play on so why should I buy DLC maps that I rarely get to play in regular MM? Is it fair to force a player to buy DLC to play a game type as in H3? Since we discuss separate and complete play lists for TU Reach and Original Reach, is it plausible to ask for a complete playlist for all DLC maps for all game types?

Later this evening I will provide the details for the March Forge Contest. This one will test your skills of working in a "defined" area of Forge World along with some minimal parameters. This contest will have some rather unique implications on yet another contest that will launch soon as well. I will offer this few hints to get the forge juices flowing. "What is the greatest test of a players skill"? "You can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk"? And the proverbial, "You want a piece of me?". This will not be your typical forge build because size does matter.................

I will admit I could be mistaken, but I believe Bungie Pro is no longer available and the transfer of data to Waypoint will be complete by the end of this month. Sparky, if rendered film of game play was what you were referring to, I will look for an answer after work, unless someone can do it earlier.

Those are actually some very nice images of concept art. I could imagine that Doom 4 in it's original thought may have been cancelled seeing that the new XBOX may be coming online by a proposed release. Maybe they have had to let go of what was on the table and plan for the new system. -

I can understand the love for some of the maps of previous games, but why in the world would you want old maps shipped with a brand new game considering the limited number of maps that are offered in a games launch. There is already and abundance of existing maps currently. Halo 3 is still online and is as fun today as it was then, in regards to maps. Reflection (Ivory Towers) plus the whole map pack of HCEA is in the current game and are remastered versions of the originals, plus the "shipped forged" versions of Pinnacle (Ascention) and Asylum (Sanctuary). I hear that players want something new and fresh in Halo 4, so do I. We need all new maps. 343 Studios needs to show us what they can do in map creation and not rely on past maps for success. Besides, the maps of Halo 4 are already done. So if we are talking about DLC, where does playing a map from locations many years past in the game fit in to being on a shield world. I want to explore this new environment not only in campaign, but in MM. What made some of the maps of the past so good was their play ability, the quality design and their feel. Give me all new maps!
