  3. Dedicated servers again. FINALLY! Will Halo 5 be the next halo 2?
  4. Of course she is alive, er, functional.. whatever. She lives on in Microsoft's new voice integration software that's going to compete with apple's SIRI.
  5. The servers have been worse than usual as of late, (assuming they have servers and are not sub hosting). It all seems to have gotten worse since MS started "upgrading" their "cloud servers". Coincidence? I think not. Behold, the future of gaming is here.. harnessing the power of the cloud. lol I'll just stick with Xbox360 until the "storm" clears thank you..
  6. Tuesday night tests just aren't the same without AbleSir Thomas.. at least he tells you what isn't working on maps. But keep up the good work on MYMDominion, we all apperciate it.

  10. Excellent read! It really brings home the long journey a truly epic map must take to become a reality. I would suggest that if you are having trouble getting people to.. "hey dude come try out my new map in customs" give this a read, maybe not all. At once... but this will help stop the lobby emptying phrase of "custom map". I would suggest also to not trust verbal feedback to much.. if they say something or not, watch the replay! it is invaluable in catching anything from geometry catches to major map flaws. Simple rule of thumb: people will congregate in the best area of the map, power position or not.

  12. The magnets are an excellent base tool for forging, not a finishing one. Their ability to quickly assemble a map for testing can save you days of meticulously working on a map section that you will just tear down again because it plays bad. So hmmm.. I guess drunk is a pretty good way to describe them.
  13. What you saw is perfectly explained in one word. LAG. Your camera records some information from your console and combines it with vectors and reticule info from the other players console hence miss representation.
  14. Great advise to anyone, I think even the MLG players like aesthetics. Also good to note in that many of the forge building blocks have glass inserts and other neat features, using these simple objects will often not affect your budget at all. I think the most visually appealing and symbolic portion of you map can also influence game play by simply causing players to gravitate to that portion of the map. We can be trick into thinking that is the actual "power position" by the fact it is simply the most visually appealing. Also it gives your map something to be remembered by, and that is one of the pinnacles of a good map is its ability to be remembered and thus played again. KCFO (keep calm and forge on!)

  19. So I figured I'll put my map up on this part of the forum seeing as how it got 2nd place in the meet you maker pre-results video. If that means anything?? Anyway... GAMER TAG: Pau1icu5 MAP NAME: Cliffside (to avoid confusion with reach) MAP CANVAS: Ravine MAP SIZE: 3V3 to 5v5 recommended and tested MAP TYPE: Symmetrical, multi level. MAP WEAPONS: Sniper, saw, sticky launcher, jet pack, needler, sword, and grenades at start. Rockets, incinerator, binary, beam rifle, fuel rod cannon, and shotgun as random ordinance. MAP DESCRIPTION: Two bases face each other within the catwalks of ravine's cliffs. Enjoy the view, don't break the glass, and be not distracted by the crashing of the waves.
  20. Tomb raider reborn is an amazing experience. Lots of FPS elements in it now... wouldn't recommend the multiplayer but that's just because I compare it to Halo .

  22. The magnets are great for symmetrical maps as reference points so you're not always looking at coordinates..
  23. There are more magnets with the forge island update as well.. even on the rocks.
