  1. i like to think that the gravity hammer is unblockable because that would be impossible to accomplish quickly without premeditation (it has an area of effect, imagine that thing swinging by your head: more than a slight breeze). I also like to think that a Spartan should be fast enough to at least knock away an enemy carrying an oversized blade (face it that's what it is) without dying. Remember there are multiple animations for every weapon and to me the game is a translation of the lore. Also i need to bump this; if the sword can't be blocked should the hammer be unblockable, further more should there be yet another energy weapon that is slightly-different/can-be-blocked?

I think Planet Etrius is agreeing with you, like high error acceleration throws in another level of difficulty to the game and having a perfect error angle (aka zero) wouldn't actually let the better players win all the time. On top of the fact that Halo 2 MM -> Halo 3 MM did nothing to advance the online Halo experience, and that Reach is a return to CE-esque MP. Twinreaper isn't really freaking out or getting angry, and you didn't really offer a rebuttal to what he said (which is basically a response to your wanting him to offer an argument, which he did so providing facts, numbers, and experience). No offense but you don't know who you're talking to. I like you, we've had some good debate but basically assuming someone is angry and stating you won't stoop to their level is pretty hypocritical as you just have reached that 'level'. Twinreaper is simply tired of seeing the same topics posted (no offense, recycling isn't necessarily a bad thing), explaining himself thoroughly, and then being told he has made no sense, logical argument, or effort to help you understand. Having a thread about a topic like this should be aimed at a discussion and not proving which viewpoint is better via putting someone on the spot to make an argument and cutting them down regardless of what they have said. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------edit sorry if that sounds harsh but seriously he knows what he's talking about and this is a community for communing
  3. Twinreaper is it possible to have locations on a map that covenant bots can spawn out of like they're entering the area? Keeping this feature to strictly stock maps? Because if i understand what you're saying then you could customize firefight maps to release covenant into the map by turning certain spawn points/methods on and off and customizing which covenant forces are arriving. (but without changing any structural elements)

  5. I have to say this lol Master Chief deflects a rocket fired from a Pelican (larger than spnkr ordinance) in a book when they're testing his compatibility with Cortana in combat. I don't know the intricacies of the lag factor and how it can precisely affect gameplay but you can't block a DMR barrage or a sniper round without an AA which is something i find a little one sided. We should only have protection from power weapons if we choose armor lock on top of which armor lock's greattttt combo with meleeing? The argument for power weapons not losing their power hits a wall for me right there. I think we can all agree that picking up an energy weapon guarantees at least one or two kills with that weapon. An energy weapon to me is strictly a melee weapon, kind of like how if you didn't have any ammo you wouldn't run headlong into people expecting a melee kill. There are certain properties of the weapon that make it easier to Rambo someone but it's not a SPNKR or a sniper it's a CQB weapon that can get you a running riot or more if you exploit it just right. How many people can do that with a stock sniper rifle? I never have understood why people don't count their blessings there is such an easy opportunity for kills. Taking out sword block basically makes the Gravity Hammer and the Energy Sword comparable in strength. Shouldn't one energy weapon be harder to kill with than the other? I like that the GH is so big you can see it over a roof, does area damage, and has no lunge or block. I like that the ES glows, (could be blocked), and most often requires a lunge to kill. Getting a kill/spree has never been easier than the energy weapons make it and to me they seemed a good pair.
  6. When i was a kid the best times i had playing video games other than halo, happened playing Nightfire for PS2. The bots in the multiplayer made that game endless. I've always wanted this in Halo, this sounds like a firefight forge, and in MP i'd love this too. Covenant or UNSC in either would make Halo 4 that much more fun and lasting. Any indication as to what type of matchmaking this would be a feature in? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------edit meant matchmaking like everything save actual MM, except maybe one playlist in the Community section that could have some kind game including this in a large scale battle or something. That could always be a part of firefight though. That may not be realistic but that's what i meant when i posted this.

Having an exclusive forum for artwork would not only let us discuss the artwork of halo but also share our own views of Halo through art and strengthen our bonds as a community. It would add so much to the information and perspective about the Halo Universe already on the site to have concept art and fan art stored here. I am all for this.

SixWaysToSunday, thanks btw, i meant to thank you earlier So far from what i have thought from playing TU ZB Beta is that the weapons get unbalanced unless you are playing in extreme close quarters. We all love the arcade feel of Halo and much of that is found in the weapons available, with zero bloom i feel like the only weapon that really gets used or can be used to get a kill with is the DMR. Yes i get more kills but i bypass every other weapon that isn't a power weapon or doesn't implement a DMR kill. Also i'm find the same thing i found in Halo 3, while the pace of the scoreboard is fast, the pace of actual gameplay seems 'slow'. I find I'm always in cover or have no chance of escaping some new shooter that enters the battle late. Fast gameplay to me is not spawning and dying and ending the game quickly, it's the ever complicating battles that involve a lot of action instead of a few shots. I agree with 85% bloom or perhaps revamped weapon strength/accuracy of all weapons in Halo 4 (pray to the gods of the elements). But one thing (somewhat related to this) I really don't want to see in the way of customization of weapons is the route COD and many other fps took, it would subtly eliminate the arcade (joyful) feel that Halo has managed to keep alive over the years. There is more to Halo (unlike many other games) than simply racking up kills. This forum has really grown on me but that's my opinion, and if you can argue it then respectfully i would really like a counter to it. hopefully they'll have forty billion playlists if they go ZB...

  12. Nice paintings, you're imagination is showing well through you're painting. Your ability and mixing techniques are really quite brilliant and very creative. Painting such massive scales can be difficult but you seem to excel and still show your own style. The only thing I could say is that the bottom painting is at an angle and so the waterfall looks like it's coming off at an angle. Painting a such extreme spectrums of distance and focus can be especially hard. I've been painting a waterfall for awhile right now and i still prefer to put them at the far ends haha Can't wait for the next one, keep it up these are great man

  14. yeah i agree with you about it being piloted, i meant a close range map that consists only of a free-roaming scarab that has a bigger platform on it's top. if you fall off you're dead. As for the pelican, I'd really like to see one that can be flown, maybe not outside of custom games. But one that has timed routes would definitely be cool on a map for matchmaking I would like to see a higher top speed on banshees too. By making the speed boost more sensitive to pressure and the battery draining responsive in kind, a faster banshee seems possible to me. The hornet could be like the same deal, a little more speed on the top end.

  16. classic warthog because it's so much closer in feeling to the original. Falcon is amazing though and the mongoose is always first pick in a race but the hog ees the hog

  19. Spread acceleration (which is what i'm going to call it) is on every weapon in CE that is in Reach, you can just see it now (bloom). Reach does have more bloom than CE though, but that's due to all the other methods you can use to kill. If there was less bloom the game would be unbalanced because all the other elements would be more or less useless. Seeing how the spread acceleration in Reach is pretty extreme, bloom it pretty useful. CE=less spread acceleration + less variables. Reach=more spread acceleration + more variables. Halo 4=spread acceleration x all other factors. There are ways of making lower spread acceleration work with more variables but Reach is essentially all that Halo 2 and 3 should have been online, Halo 4 isn't necessarily going to be Reach. Like CE and Reach Halo 4 should definitely have bloom because bloom helps you time your shots better, if you don't want to see how inaccurate you're getting maybe they can include a setting to turn of reticle changes.
