  3. If we are talking specifically about heat resistance, it's also worth mentioning the titanium nanoncomposite bodysuit, which is designed to withstand heat from plasma. Plasma can go up to thousands of degrees Celsius, I'm confident that heat-resistance is not a big issue. The external alloy may suffer mildly from some plasma burns, but it would take a lot to melt through that armour and the bodysuit found inbetween. Although I had no intention on discussing the reality of MJOLNIR, I'm more than confident that we can develop such an armour in this century, minus the shielding. One hold-back is the resources, and possibly an efficient, long-lasting energy source. More on-topic; does anyone believe that Grade 5 Titanium alloy is all that is needed for the external MJOLNIR armour?
  4. I'm up for some co-op Legendary. GT: Spartan 343ICF
  5. I did not say your mind was limited. You've got it spot on; this is about fact, reality, and scientific principles. It is just that you have gone wildly off-topic, discussing things that are completely irrelevant to this thread's existence. The OP clearly asks about the elements involved in the Ti alloy used to make MJOLNIR armour. Any contribution is not an interruption, and I greatly appreciate a proper, scientific response to the question asked.
  6. Happy Independence Day

  7. You just stated this is a rant, and so I now have lost all enthusiasm in responding to your points. If one is too stubborn to accept the idea of science being implemented into fiction, then their mind is incredibly limited overall.
  8. Between the five available iterations in MCC (Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4, and Halo 3: ODST), which do you think is the hardest, and the easiest? Feel free to leave them in a list from easiest to hardest, or the other way around. My thoughts: Hardest Halo 2 Halo 3: ODST Halo: CE Halo 3 Halo 4 Easiest What do you think?
  9. I'm sure we all know that titanium is already a 'thing'. Some of the Spartan-II augmentations increase tissue density and make bones near indestructible. As mentioned, the suit helps adjust the user to its internal body. Looking at an element with a higher melting point; Tungsten doesn't melt until around 3422 degrees Celsius. I'm not intending to go off-topic with the advantages and disadvantages of MJOLNIR armour, I merely want to see what others think about the titanium alloy used to make MJOLNIR armour. If it is made from one of today's alloys, then it may be Grade 38 or Grade 5. Do you agree with this? If so, then we can most likely tell what the other elements are. Either way, it appears that titanium is the most used element in the creation of this armour. Would having titanium as an alloy increase or decrease its melting point? Clearly the alloy is stronger than titanium alone, though I am not too sure about how its melting point is affected.
  10. We know for sure that MJOLNIR is composed of a Titanium alloy. We do not know what elements are included in this alloy (besides Titanium), so we can only make an educated guess. What elements do you believe are involved in the Titanium alloy used to make MJOLNIR armor, and why? This question applies to Mark IV, V, and VI. It only involves the elements existing today, and does not include the possibility of any possible undiscovered future elements.
  11. You mean Installation 05?
  12. Does anyone believe that MJOLNIR armour contains nickel?

UNSC is too cheap for a nickel. Most likely only a penny at best.

Well, most metals we use are mixtures of metal elements to produce different qualities. Just a little bit of any metal can change the entire properties.

  13. I personally highly doubt they'd be trained in Psychology as much as they would in Biology and Chemistry. Thanks for giving me the idea of how they'd use Psychology, didn't think of it that way before. They did originally exist to fight Insurrectionists, which are human, so the idea of using Psychology to determine their actions makes perfect sense.
  14. Congrats again, nice speech. Keep up the nice work here.
  15. Congrats Yang, you've had this coming. Enjoy you month of MoM, it's well deserved.
  16. You must keep in mind the population size of the UNSC. I'm sure the population will be far bigger over 500 years from today. We know the Spartan-IIs studied Physics more than any other Science. Between Psychology (probably not taught), Chemistry and Biology, which do you believe were taught the most and the least?
  17. As much as I love helicopters, the Falcon is inefficient and should not make a return in my opinion. Propellers? Complete let down for the UNSC Air Force. I'm personally interested in the Pelican, and would like to see more of it. I'd also like to see previous air craft, such as the Hornet, make a return and be introduced to newer aircraft. The UNSC Air Force is vital, especially with newer enemies which are best faced from above. Things are getting more complicated as newer Promethean enemies emerge, and an on-foot approach isn't always the best solution. I believe more aircraft is needed, and it would be great if we see some soon, in Halo 6 if not 5 at least. Lets not forget that there's always the opportunity to see new vehicles in a sequel to Halo Wars, which is possible and has been hinted at in the past.
  18. I'm with Caboose on this one; the Spartan-IIs are not easily beaten, especially by any human force. Their training and augmentations are unmatched. Their armour is better than anything possible today. All Spartan-IIs can easily wipe out an entire modern day nation, and more, with weaponry. I'm not at all over exaggerating, and couldn't be any more serious. Speed, strength, stamina, flexibility, agility. Have you seen the training necessary to become an FBI trooper? It requires very little of those five fitness factors I mentioned. A fit 13 year old could pass it, which is worrying considering the FBI does not employ 13 year olds for combat. Training for some modern day nations' military or defense personnel is honestly quite pathetic, especially in comparison to the Spartan-IIs.
  19. US versus the world event: Yoshi, Fishy, Yang, Archangel, AhhOldWomen, Drizzy, Adam, JL, myself There may have been other attendees, although I'm confident these are all (or most) of them.
  20. Today's military would have little to no chance against the UNSC. The reason as to why bullets were still used before initial contact with the Covenant, is because there was a long time of peace in which there was no (or slight) weapon development. I don't understand why the UNSC still don't use hand-held plasma weaponry. Do you know (or have an idea) why, or believe there is no legitimate answer to it?
  21. Why is it that the UNSC do not use plasma weaponry? As we can see from a Halo 5 image, they have made use of an 'energy bayonet' by attaching it to the front of an Assault Rifle, giving it more melee damage. The UNSC are allies with the Sangheili, and plasma weaponry is overall more effective that bullets. Why still use bullets and not plasma? I personally prefer bullets, even though plasma is stronger, so a legit reason as to why they are still used would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  22. Nice one TDM, this is needed. Looking forward to seeing more info and images released on this. Personally really interested in that AR.
