  1. I love these "veteran" threads. If you are a veteran of the series, since 2, then that means you've been playing since 2004, so you must be older or at least around 20 or older. So why do you spell every other word wrong? Not so much poking fun here as I am trying to point out that a well written thread will get more, if not better responses and will get taken more seriously.
  2. Are you talking about just when you destroy a vehicle? Because its possible for the occupants to survive if you destroy a vehicle, giving you a +10 medal of destroyed vehicle.
  3. The weapon still existing in the game is fine, just shouldn't be a loadout weapon. I would rather the weapon be gone completely then an option to spawn with, but I would PREFER they keep it on maps and maybe as ordnance.

    RE: The SAW

It's a weapon that has no reason to exist. It's niche is essentially an assault rifle plus. That's one of my biggest problems with this game, weapon variety is awesome, don't get me wrong, but in other halo's every weapon had a specific niche that it out performed another weapon in SOME area. In halo 4 there are weapons that perform in the same niche, and are just better in every category. The BR vs the DMR is a good example. Yes, the BR can beat the DMR but most of the time this doesn't happen, even at ranges where the BR should clearly have an advantage. So why does the DMR or BR exist? They both fill the same role except one does it better. Take the DMR out of the game, and increase the range of the battle rifle to what the DMR use to have. Weapon niche problem solved. The DMR has no place in the halo series anyway, just bring back the pistol.
  5. Halo 3's ranking system was very intelligent. You probably were only a 31 in skill. I got to 40 and absolutely couldn't advance, but at the same time I admit I wasn't destroying every single game. Having to fight over power weapon spawns and controlling those parts of the map are what made halo, HALO. Now little johnny can just sit in a corner with a DMR and get a rocket launcher or better delivered to him. If he has the right perk (ugg..) he can re-roll his ordnance like a frigging care package and get something even better. This is not a fun system, it might be fun for terrible casuals who can't coordinate and get good weapons through working with teammates to secure areas; but for competitive players, and even players that aren't that competitive but like a non-crutch based game. ....only + 500 kills...on top of your deaths? That's not very good...unless you have less then 150 deaths or something. I'm 8900 kills on 5000 deaths and I consider myself just O.K. at the game.
  6. Thats what really mind boggles me. After seeing armor abilities, and the DMR, what made 343i be like "yeah, we're definitely carrying those over". The DMR existing doesn't even make any sense, it was around in reach, but not for the ENTIRE covenant/human/flood trilogy, and then just POOF pops up again in Halo 4. That's retarded anyway you slice it.
  7. The shotgun always beat the sword when used properly, in some games, a mutual kill would occur if the the sword guy was swinging and the shotgun went off mid swing.
  8. And I am so sick of reply post like these. He doesn't hate the game, he loves the game. If I hated the game, I would just not play it like you said. But I LOVE the game, and as such when I see so many glaring problems with balance and gameplay features I feel the urge to come talk about them and see if other older fans of the series agree with me. And most of the time they do.
  9. The quality will be decided by the level of game-play provided. Hands down the most important thing 343i needs to do moving forward is look at what made halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3 great, and keep the core of their product like those titles, then adding new features. Things like armor abilities and the ordnance system only estrange the series from what it should be, rather then moving it forward.
  10. ....situational, there's plenty of areas where you can hit people cleanly across the map until they die.
  11. I popped back in halo 3 for giggles, and I was getting destroyed lol. The funny thing is I was having a ton of fun because every time I would get owned, I would think "yeah, I SHOULD have gotten owned here" The game is just as fast paced as halo 4, the assault rifle is awesome, it feels better then the halo 4 assault rifle to be honest. It doesn't have crap for ammo clip but it gets the job done. Everything felt much more difficult to do, it was harder to kill people, maneuver well, no crutch armor abilities to save me when I SHOULD be killed and vise versa to enemies I'm fighting. Halo 4 is....boring in comparison. If halo 3 had a more stable population I would go back to that as my main halo.
  12. There's even less people playing this game then there were playing halo reach on a daily basis. And there were PLENTY of games to compete when Reach was out. The top 4 xbox population games as of feb 4th (out dated) are: Black ops II Minecraft.....(yeah, our generation is screwed.) Fifa 2013 Halo 4 4th place isn't that bad really, but when you look that more people are playing 360 version of minecraft then halo....it's troubling to look at.
  13. Why? Dual wielding is classic halo multiplayer.
  14. Weapons had different strengths depending on if they were dual wielded or not too, for example. I massively preferred using a single SMG to dual wielded ones, if you pumped the trigger quickly, the smg has INSANE range single wielded, much, MUCH better then the assault rifle and put people down quickly.
  15. The jet pack is still too good even after being balanced from Reach. It really was outrageous in Reach. It destroys map design. Plain and simple. Anything that has a power weapon or banshee, like the middle ground in long bow or the banshee spawn in exile, has ramps or an in-direct way of getting to it, jet pack just takes a huge dump over all this placement and planning. Is the op going to say the Banshee was fine as well in Reach? Or maybe un-nerfed armor lock was fine?
  16. No more getting trolled by getting your vehicle destroyed, but it did make me happy at time, reminded me of douchebags from better days lol.
  17. Theater mode was definitely best in halo 3. It didn't make any sense why they keep removing features from it.
  18. The Ar in halo CE was powerful, but it was also massively inaccurate.
  19. Even with the gunner perk, the gauss wins out against the normal chain gun any day. That being said, they really need to take off the overheat for the chain gun, it would make the Turret much better and more in tune with classic halo vehicles.
  20. lol I just looked at his concept art, he looks like Vincent Price or something.
  21. Jesus with all the 1 sensitivity backers lol. To each their own I know but it just seems that there's so many situations that you would need to be able to turn faster to compete. It never happens in halo 4, but in the other games if you were fast enough you could jump over someones head and ninja beat down them, and if their sensitivity wasn't high enough to counter it would work almost every time. I'm like goldie lox with my sensitivity, 10 is far too fast, 1 is faaaar to slow, 4 or 5 is just right. lol
  22. The great thing about damage boost with the sniper rifle is, body shots are thoughtlessly easy, and much faster on multiple targets, so damage boost does make quite a difference with that weapon.

    Tank Poll

The scorpion is really easy to kill in halo 4. I survive much longer in the wraith, as it can boost out of trouble, and theres tons of trouble coming your way if your in a tank lol.
  24. Dual wielding only added to tactical options when using guns, it gave weaker weapons a niche in combat.
