  1. Yang... Where shall I begin? You play Destiny with me sometimes, and we talk about Destiny sometimes, and we talk about your stalkers sometimes, and then we eat our cake and go home. Congrats on being MoM for mah birthday month. Hope you enjoy your time in the pink! P.S. Flawless players suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!
  2. From Software's fabled RPG series Dark Souls has sold over 8.5 million combined copies worldwide! The recent gaming press conferences known as E3 revealed a wealth of new titles returning to favorite franchises, one of those being Dark Souls III. This announcement also sparked some great news, that the series has sold over 8.5 million copies combining their three titles, as reported by GameInformer.com. The original game Dark Souls and Artorias of the Abyss came in at nearly 6 million in total. Dark Souls II totaled at a little over 2 million, and it's current generation port only came in with about 600K sales. All of these net a little over 8.5 million copies for the series. This was all revealed during a formal conference in Japan by From Software. The company is also responsible for the recent PS4 exclusive title Bloodborne. 3. Hello there, thanks a lot for clicking this thread, I'm Hayley Kenway, or Edward Kenway, or Omega, really, I'm known by a lot of different aliases, so just call me Ed. I'd like to begin by stating my sincerest gratitude to all of you for carrying me to where I am today, as a member of the News Group on a wonderful site full of wonderful people (not as wonderful as me though). So, do you really need the life story again? I'll give you the TL;DR version, I suppose. I'm Vincent, been here for 3 years, not all of it perfect but most of it unforgettable. At the moment, I'm 13, going on 14 in a few days (July 6th to be exact). I recently graduated my catholic schooling institute, and am going to a public high school, with the hopes of transferring next year to a school more aligned with my interests. And yes, I am an atheist. I'm the youngest staff member at the moment, and am the youngest person to receive Legendary, to my knowledge. I'm a fan of a wealth of gaming franchises, and if I listed them all here, you'd be sitting here til' my fourth anniversary. I currently own an Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and Gaming PC, with the plans to purchase some sort of Nintendo product soon. As can be seen, I'm what you would call a 'Pokemon gamer', I like to catch and collect 'em all. Recently I've begun to take interest in films and I'm a huge fan of the Planet of the Apes movies, especially Dawn and Rise. I'm also a big fan of comic book movies, specifically Batman and Spider-Man. I'm also interested in books quite a bit, the full nerd package, and I love Eleanor & Park, but by next year, I'm sure I'll have found some new book to obsess over. I'll keep this short, but most of you know my origins. I started out as SpartanKIL, became Omega, went through some troubles, and like a phoenix, Edward Kenway rose from the ashes and became as good a positive influence as he could. However, during my time in News Group, I made the decision to leave, becoming Legendary for a month (lol) which I get teased about pretty often. THEN I CAME BACK. I grovelled on my knees in front of Director, and he saw pity on me and gave me my job back. I still need a raise though. Family life, you ask? Well, I have parents, as does everyone, and two sisters, whom I don't interact with much. Alongside these people, I live with my grandfather, who recently came out of the hospital, so that's good, it's nice to see him these days. You may remember I mentioned living with an aunt and uncle whom I rarely saw, well err... Not exactly anymore. Last September, just a few days before the launch of Destiny, which I eagerly awaited, my Uncle passed away. Just a few weeks ago, my Aunt had also left to go pursue new ventures in life, putting it nicely. I miss him a lot, he was really the driving passion for my nerdy interests, so losing him felt a lot like losing a part of me. But, on the positive side of things, my dad left the hospital, and he's doing okay, so... There's that. Now, this may seem a bit sappy, but I want to take a moment to acknowledge my best of friends on here. These are some truly amazing people who have shined quite a bright light in my life that won't go away. Be aware, these are just the best of the best, so fret not if you aren't on here. I love everyone, as I've said, but I have to take a minute to acknowledge those I feel have gone out of their way for me. Yoshi1176 - Hey man, you're a really great friend toward me, and I wanted to acknowledge you first for it. There have been friends, many of them, despite your disbelief. But you have stood out quite a bit as that one dude who really has fun being around me. And in the end, that's my only goal, to make sure everyone around me has a bit of fun. If I can't light up people's lives, then I'm wasting my own. Yang Xiao Long - Yaaaaang, my British friend that I tell everyone I know about to seem cooler. Destiny has been a huge part of my daily routine and you've been there for a lot of my progression through the game. You were there when I got my G-Horn, you were there when I first dared to fight Crota, and the countless times that I dared to fight him after. Thanks so much for tolerating my American-ness. Honorable mention to Ben too! Drizzy_Dan - Hey softie, how about letting me get that Beat-A-Mod award? You're one of the friendliest people I know, and you've been there since Day One, even if we weren't always tighter than the jeans on a fat girl. You're a fun guy to be around, so be proud of that. Can't hold all that aggression inside you for long, D_D. Self Destruct - You are arrogant, talented, and devilishly handsome, which somehow makes for just the right combination for a good friend. Plus, you love Gears of War, so you're automatically amazing! Thanks for the numerous nights of fun, and the countless deep voiced, "Wut"s. They made me chuckle. Jack of Harts - The art dude, you make my art, what more can I say? You even made the art for this post, which I thank you for. Even though you were incompetent at making Weekly News Wrap-Up banners, you are still a funny guy and an amazing friend. Let's go kick Crota's arse. We can bring Yang along. Halo5 Follower - Lewis :3 My aussie friend, despite not being around for playdates much, you're a really nice guy. Like really really nice, tone it down a bit mate. I'm being sarcastic obviously, you're a really good guy and I cannot wait for the Forum PAX 2016 Trip so we can meet up and make fun of Jack. Until then, you're in my heart. ESO is coming, I promise. AhhOldWoman - Newbie, greenie, FNG, whatever they're calling you folks these days. Even with the dry spout in terms of new blood, you've shown through as a really fun fantastic guy (or woman heh). I look forward to more fun gamenights on Halo. Bnus - Bnus, how's the YouTube page going? Heh, I'm yanking your chain, you've done a lot in your position to make the site feel awesome, and you're a fantastic friend. Even though you're new, and you still have a lot to learn, you've certainly taught me a few things. You're also the best demonstration on how to accidentally have a child I've ever seen, so good on ya. Maybe next time we're in the Florida area together, we can meet, talk gaming, etc. I'll see ya around. #TARGETACQUIRED Azaxx - Heya, Azaxx. The other Aussie in the equation. So, what have you done to land a spot on here. To be completely honest, I have no damn clue. You're a good guy, you love Destiny, and you've never done wrong by me. I suppose that's enough, but maybe there's more I don't realize. Anyways, stay classy man. Let's raid some time. We'll drag Yang and Jack along. Fishy - Hey Fishy, how are ya? Good to hear. Listen, you're a fantastic person, and you've always been a really fun guy to play Xbox with. Continue to improve yourself and sharpen your abilities. Your talents as a game night host are unparalleled, I'd like to see you continue to strive for the goals that are so easily achievable with your skillset. I'll see ya on GTA, mate. GermanShepherdD - Hey GSD, I'm sure you have no clue who I am besides my violent torrents and rages on GTA V, but thanks for the fun nights and thanks for being a cool mod. And also changing my name like 70 times! Ruff ruff! Zelda - The Legend of Link herself, you're probably the coolest chick I've met on this site. You actually play Destiny quite decently and made for a few fun shoutbox conversations. I hope to see you around more here and on Destiny, because I'd like to play a few matches of Trials with you and test your 'skill' there. Unease P34nut - Hey nutterbutter, you're welcome for that dare that got you where you are. I hope to see a few more articles from you before you fully disappear. Thanks for being a fun gent to hang out with and a cool guy. I'll crush yer nuts, mate. RedStarRocket91 - Best I saved this one for last. This is probably going to be long, gents, so prepare yourself. Red... Go grab some popcorn, I suppose. You've been here longer than I have, and have taught me quite a few things that still benefit me today. Your continued support inspired me to reach where I am and hone my writing skills allowing me to carve my future into history. I hope to someday achieve a success that will not make me famous, or my works, but rather inspire others to press on and create a better world. That's how you truly live forever. You've also taught me that my mistakes don't make me the person I am, but rather how I do my best to prevent those mistakes from ever happening again. Denying their existence does nothing to ensure perfection, rather, you've given yourself the compass as to how to correct it and sculpt the perfect character. Yes, I know not all of that was your lessons, despite their worth, but I felt it was important to convey that your words helped me reach these conclusions. I've been here three years, and it's been a hell of a ride. I wouldn't change it for the world. Thanks Red, I wouldn't still be here if it weren't for you. I raise my glass to you, you ginger-haired Scottish legend, you. So... Three years? That's pretty amazing, in my opinion. But, none of it would be possible without you, yes you. You sitting behind a keyboard and mouse and TV screen. Whether your in the same state, or in entirely different countries, you matter. Now, this year, I lost a lot of my friends, with graduation. People that meant a lot to me, more than I could ever describe. I'm going to miss them, but in a lot of ways, you guys are the closest memories I have of them. Each of you has a distinct personality trait that seems to magically coincide with my own close friends and family. I don't know how, or why, this is, but it's that way for a reason. This site is more than some dudes playing Halo, it's a community. Whether we get noticed by big game companies or not doesn't matter. What matters is the unity we have, even when there are disagreements, and hate, we always thread back together. Even though many of my oldest friends are gone, in the darkness, I have found light in a few new ones. I wouldn't give it up for anything. A wise man once said, "Laughter is not at all a bad beginning for a friendship, and it is far the best ending for one." And you have all certainly made me laugh. This isn't the end, rather, it's the closing page to a chapter in our long book. It's time to turn the page, we must continue to read on.

  5. I've had a particular interesting in journalism for quite a reasonable amount of time now, and I've always seen the games journalism area as a destination of interest in my future career goals. Lately though, it seems this form of journalism is riddled with corruption and scandals, so I wanted to ask you, is it worth it to pursue a career in professional gaming journalism, or should I look to alternative paths in this wide array of branches?
  6. It seems that Sony has no current plans to follow in Xbox's footsteps with a backwards compatibility update to their current gen console. Microsoft made a daring move this E3 with the announcement that over the next few years Xbox 360 titles will become playable on the Xbox One, and most expected their competitor Sony to do the same. Apparently not, as reported by GameSpot.com, Sony has no plans for a system of backwards compatibility on the PS4. They commented on the announcement, saying it must have been, "challenging" to pull it off. They said that their current system of compatibility, the PlayStationNOW subscription service, will stay in effect. "Backward compatibility is hard," Sony executive Shuhei Yoshida explained. "I won't say we'll never do it, but it's not an easy thing to do. If it was easy we would have done that." Shuhei also stated that Sony wanted to focus on building new experiences rather than holding on to older ones. 7. Will you be a faithful peon to the Covenant Order or a daring Heretic oppressor? Hello everyone, Edward Kenway here and today I am bringing you all an event that will change your life. On July 3rd, at 3pm EST (8pm GMT or 12pm PST) you will choose your side and fight to the death in Covenant and Heretic themed arenas on Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Spartans and Elites are both welcome to join their desired teams. Sign up, pick a side, and prepare to march to war! (Please bring your own weapon, neither the Covenant Order nor the Heretic Rebellion have the resources to supply everyone. You may bring snacks.)
  8. Mike Colter, the previous voice and face of Agent Locke, will no longer be providing his vocal skills for the role, but will retain the image. Most people were not impressed with Agent Locke's voice in the Halo 2: Anniversary cutscenes, and it seems 343 Industries took notice of this, and have removed him from a vocal role. This comes from Ike Amadi's Twitter.com and his IMDB.com page, where he has confirmed that he will be doing the voice for Agent Locke, but Mike Colter will still be the physical representation. Rooster Teeth also allegedly live streamed an interview with Ike Amadi, where he talked about his new role. While 343 themselves have not been vocal on the change, multiple sources such as the ones above have confirmed that the famed video game voice actor will be taking Mike's place. Ike Amadi is known for his roles as Javik in Mass Effect 3 and miscellaneous roles in other games such as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. 9. Actually, I found two better renders, can you have these two facing back to back along with the original requested stuff? 10. Electronic Arts has dashed most hope for a possible remaster or reboot of the Mass Effect Trilogy on current generation systems. Since the release of the current generation of consoles, Mass Effect fans have been eager for a Trilogy port or remaster, but it seems Electronic Arts is not as keen on the idea. IGN.com reports that EA's Patrick Söderlund was interviewed by Game Informer and he told them that a remaster is not likely. He does confirm that Electronic Arts has examined the requests and knows about the desire for a port. "I won't lie and say we haven't looked at it. But for us, it's about weighing where we spend our resources. Is it better for them to be working on a completely new IP, which you know BioWare is, or should they be remastering a Mass Effect?" Patrick said, confirming that it would not be happening. He backed this up by stating how he wants to remember games as they were originally when he goes back to play them, rather than an upscale or remaster. This news comes in light of the recent Mass Effect: Andromeda announcement at EA's E3 Conference, the game is slated for release sometime in Holiday 2016. 11. The official Xbox E3 2015 conference has given us a wealth of new details to get excited about for Halo 5: Guardians! Let's dive right in. E3 2015 began with a bang as Bonnie Ross, a member of 343 Industries, walked on stage and set up the Halo 5 Story Trailer reveal, found on . The trailer shows Chief hunting something down, as Locke and his team prepare to take him on, receiving begrudging help from the Arbiter and his faction. Buck and Locke speak about the Master Chief and the price that comes with hunting him down, as they are all led to one specific location, to find Chief, the Covenant, and the Guardians. The gameplay footage showed off a new weapon, similar to the Plasma Launcher from Halo Reach, but more compact, as well as team gameplay in action. It also showed just how ruthless Fireteam Osiris is in their efforts to track the Chief down, only being stopped by a large Promethean figure who tells them they are not allowed to enter, unlike the Chief, before the demo ends. View attachment: h5singleplayer.png Multiplayer is shown off in a brand new BTB style mode called Warzone. This will take place on extremely large maps with 12 v 12 players, along with numerous NPCs. The game seems to begin with you and your team being dropped off in multiple Pelicans unto the battlefield as you fight with an array of weapons and vehicles. The game footage also hints at allied NPCs with marine chatter and red hunters possibly aligned to red team. Along with this, the Mantis seems to be back in action, very similar to it's precursor self. Along with the Mantis, a new Promethean air vehicle was demonstrated, possibly being player driven. The trailer can be seen on Xbox's channel, and is playable at E3. View attachment: h5warzone.png All information and images are sourced from 343 Industries and Microsoft, shown at E3 2015. 15. Bethesda seems to have accidentally revealed it's new Dishonored project during a test stream in preparation for E3 2015. When it launched in 2012, the new Bethesda and Arkane Studios project Dishonored was hailed as a fantastic mixture of Assassin's Creed's core gameplay and a beautifully dark world full of mystery and shadows. If like myself, you were a fan of that world, you'll be excited to hear that Dishonored 2 seems to be happening, as shown in Bethesda's E3 test stream done today. Sourced from GameSpot.com, during the stream, the words 'Dishonored' and 'Harvey' were picked up by the microphone, Harvey being in reference to the first game's co-director Harvey Smith. Smith has been confirmed to be working with Arkane again on another project, but the exact nature is unknown, which leads this all to circle together as confirming a new Dishonored. Bethesda spoke out about the test run on Twitter, saying the run had gone just as planned, which could be a red herring. Until tomorrow, nothing is certain, but it seems Dishonored will be making an appearance at E3. 16. Ready Up Live has revealed a few multiplayer and soundtrack changes and features we will see in the final launch of Halo 5: Guardians! Halo is often most known for two key features, it's multiplayer and it's music, which are usually a game's defining factors for most of the core audience. Halo 5: Guardians will be a wildly different game in terms of PvP gameplay, with the new institution of Spartan Abilities, but you already knew that. Getting to the good stuff, ReadyUpLive.com released some information about new stuff in Halo 5. Besides a few changes to base Spartan Abilities, such as the remapping of the Ground Pound to the melee button instead of crouch, and the reduction of radius to the same ability, mostly nothing new. In Capture The Flag, however, players will be enthusiastic to hear that juggling and dropping the flag is possible now unlike Halo 4. The 'Flagnum' as it's referred to by the player base will also be making a return, whether this is seeing any changes though, we're unsure. View attachment: H5-Guardians-Fathom-Surprises.jpg Empire has gone under a graphical overhaul and changes to the shutter area and the removal of an entire staircase to make more use of clamber and other routes. And finally, a new map called Fathom was revealed. This is a close-quarters underwater submarine base involving a lot of alternate paths and strategy changes each time you play. Two new armours were also revealed, Breaker, looking a lot like a pilot's suit, and Noble, a replica of Carter's armour from Halo: Reach. View attachment: Noble.png Now unto the sound, arguably the most vital part of a Halo game, making the music and atmosphere memorable and recognizable is a key element in production. First of all, in-game sounds will be more atmospheric with weapons sounding more realistic. Ready Up Live humorously explained how the process is done, such as a kitchen utensil being dropped to create a shuddering metallic sound. Enemy and ally interaction will be leagues more immersive as chatter goes about between responding parties, such as an elite giving orders to his squad. Unto the soundtrack, Chief and Locke will have separate musical themes, the Chief theme being more melancholy and somber whilst Locke's theme is more victorious and pulse-pounding. The soundtrack is now being done by Metal Gear Solid's former composer who aims to keep the Halo monk chants a vital element in the sound design, so hopefully we see more of a return to classic Halo. 18. The upcoming Xbox One shooter Halo 5: Guardians has had a host of new images reveal features and details of the highly hyped game! Recently, GameInformer.com posted a wealth of pictures revealing new details about the game, which you can find in a huge information dump provided by Self Destruct. Since this, new images have surfaced revealing a wealth of details about Halo 5: Guardians and it's story and features. For starters, the Covenant Remnant, a fanatic cult separated from the now broken Covenant order, will be returning in some old ways. Images show the genetically modified Jackals and Grunts looking mostly the same from Halo 4, however, the Elites have gotten a few changes to their armour and it's ranking as Zealots seem to now be white and green and much taller than typical spartans, likely due to their genetic modifications. View attachment: halo510.jpg Next up, Promethean weapons like the Boltshot, Suppressor, and Incineration Cannon are returning, with balancing changes but little aesthetic variance to date, coming from an anonymous source. Finally, a new cover has been released for Escalation issue 22 on HaloPedia.org which will launch on September 23rd and follow Spartan Palmer and others as they track down Halsey. This will be an official sequel to the story told in Spartan Ops. And finally, Spartan Jun's voice actor confirmed over Twitter.com he was not called back to voice his character, meaning an appearance by Jun is unlikely unless in cameo form, or maybe he's lying to us... Nah. View attachment: halo517.jpg Anyways that's all for now guys, below are a bunch of other pictures for you to look at showing off Spartan Tanaka for the first time in-game as well as Blue Team renders. Enjoy!
  19. As everyone above me clearly stated, the power needed to allow Halo 5: Guardians to run on your Xbox 360 would be phenominal and power just isn't something the 360 has anymore. Most developers like CD Projekt Red (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt) have chosen to shy away from the 360 because frankly, it can't keep up with the requirements for next gen titles. Not only that, but it would take away from Xbox One sales, does Microsoft really need that whilst Sony and Nintendo push big numbers every day?
  20. Cogs of Battle (Gears of War) Sinner's Line (Saint's Row) Alive Continent (Dead Island) Honored (Dishonored) I'm proud of myself, yes.
  21. The moment I took heed of your humourous and spirited attitude, I knew you'd someday be a fantastic candidate for MoM, congrats man! Plow, plow, plow away the competition.
