  1. Bungie and Activision's newly released smash hit IP Destiny has now garnered over 500 million dollars in game sales being shipped to stores, meaning Activision has now broken even on marketing costs. If you haven't heard someone mention Destiny, whether you've got your mind wrapped around what exactly the game is or not, you've either been living under a rock or have forgotten someone mention it, which is highly unlikely since it's been talked about nonstop. Polygon.com reports that all that talk really did work out in the end for Activision and Bungie as the game has earned over half a billion US dollars in worldwide shipping to retail stores on the game alone. This massive earning makes Destiny the biggest new game franchise launch title in history, surpassing anything before it in terms of hype. However, just because the game has been shipped to stores doesn't mean all those copies sold, but it is a good estimate as it shows the expectations companies had for the game. Activision has yet to release actual sales on the game itself, but estimate it to be quite high, possibly even beating last year's colossal Grand Theft Auto V launch. Bobby Kotick, Activision Blizzard CEO, had this to say, "This industry milestone marks another blockbuster success for our company and demonstrates our unique ability to create some of the most successful entertainment franchises in the world. The success of Destiny, along with the recent introduction of Blizzard Entertainment's Hearthstone, is further validation of our unique capabilities to create great entertainment franchises from the ground up." Thank you so much for reading this article!

  9. In one of Destiny's new marketing campaigns, a hidden emblem has been found, and I'm going to show you the steps to get it! Destiny has had a wide array of viral campaigns and marketing ploys, however this interactive campaign launched in partnership with Google is something special. Destiny Planet Viewer, as it is dubbed, can be visited at DestinyPlanetView.com, and it allows people to examine the planets in Destiny in depth. On each planet there are hotspots, and visiting all of them on all planets will unlock something when Destiny launches, an emblem. When you reach all of them (or use the code I'll display here if you want an easier venture) the game will give you a code, 7F9-767-F74, which is the same for everyone so just entering the code on Bungie's site is really all the effort that's needed. The unlocked emblem is dubbed 'The Sign of the Finite' and looks to be a cobalt blue patchwork emblem. View attachment: image.jpg Picture credentials to MoreConsole, check out his video on the subject. What do you think of ad campaigns unlocking items in the games they advertise? Let me know below! Thank you very much for reading.

  11. One of the most highly trotted out Microsoft exclusives releasing on the Xbox One, though not even being exclusive or a launch title and by an up and coming developer formed by the people who 'developed' Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and broke off from the shell of a corporation these days Infinity Ward, Titanfall was supposed to save the Xbox One and set it ahead of the competition. Did it? Nope. Where did it go wrong? Well let's check it out below! I'd like to point out what I say above is all in relation to a marketing stance on the game, I find the actual content inside to be quite fun and am going to praise the game more and more as we get further, but before I do let me establish what I said above and why I say it. Titanfall did not save the Xbox One in any way, shape, or form and wouldn't have saved it if it tried. Why? Because not only is it on PC and Xbox 360, but it is a multiplayer only game that at launch extremely under delivered content wise but promised to improve later on, which it undoubtedly did. On top of that, why does the Xbox One need saving by a singular game anyway at this point in the 'Console Race'? It is year one having the console in the hands of consumers, naturally we're going to be thrown filler exclusive after filler exclusive to meet the mass demands while developers like Naughty Dog and 343 Industries work quietly in the background rushing their work so that it can meet the market, going as far as to rerelease old games. It's the first year, that's what you get for being an early adopter. Anyways, ranting done. How is the game itself? Titanfall is marvelous fun, it's a fantastic game with fantastic mechanics and it now has enough content where I can recommend it to you! First of all, this game is a twitch shooter at heart, it is Call of Duty mixed with parkour and mechs, it should be clear by now whether this is your style of game or not. Now I know comparing it to Call of Duty will inflame the masses but let me explain to you, it takes the elements Call of Duty brings that makes casuals keep coming back, and adds in an actual skill requirement and mechanics that keep gameplay fun and act as a sugar charge gluing you to the screen not wanting to move. It's sort of like those iOS games that glue you to the screen because it's so fun and rewards you each time you play, that's Titanfall, except totally different and new. Now, there is a learning curve for the Titans, I will admit that, but as a Pilot joyriding around from wall to wall is indefinitely more fun the first few times. The map design is great, though I wish more creativity was put in, as the maps are designed well, but lack anything memorable about them. The only map that stands out to me is Angel City, which is basically Lockout from Halo 2 with buildings and parkour areas and streets, it's nothing like lockout actually, I lied. Each map is still a ton of fun. Now, let's talk about the game's "storyline". A lot of people dislike it, honestly, I prefer the storyline campaign segments to regular matches for the simple reason of it's more interactive in a lot of ways. For example, in one mission as the IMC you get into these drop pods with OTHER TEAM MATES! It's so cool as you ride down and just slam into the ground and get right into the action. It's parts like this that make this game so sweet, but then, there's customization, which sends it back to a sad sour note. There's little variety, likely no more then 7 or 8 primary weapons and 4 or 5 secondary weapons which is sad, and only three titan models and randomized Pilot models, again, this feels lazy and saddens me. I do hope in the future they add customization to both of these, as it would make this game a ton more fun. The game has fair graphics, nothing too amazing like Killzone: Shadow Fall or Infamous: Second Son levels but they're fine, I'd put them just below Halo 4 level graphics. The visuals look a very drab and toned silver colour, which I would consider nonncreative but I like the style and tone, which is basically Borderlands' cartoony style except with all the colour drained out. I would enjoy if the next game had a more futuristic tone, but some environments looked utterly fantastic, like this view of a burning crimson sun you get in one of the campaign sequences. You see, I LOVED my time with Titanfall, it would be a masterpiece based on how fun it is alone, but sadly it misses a few marks so I can't give it a perfect rating. However, if Respawn Entertainment sees this, you guys have the talent, you need to work on your creativity though, hire a few more artists, try to have more breathtaking visual displays, make weapons and armor and ships a bit more colourful. You guys have a gold game here, and I cannot wait to see what Titanfall 2 brings to the table. I purchased the game at $20 and reviewed it on my Xbox One. If you're going to purchase it I recommend it be in the $30-20 range and you'll get a good value, but avoid the Collector's Edition and stick with standard. 9/10! Thank you very much for reading, I'll see you all next time!
  12. Well, I heard originally they planned for Halo 2 to be a Battlefield style game in terms of multiplayer. I'd like to see a few gametypes that allow for at least 24 players, I mean Battlefield 4 reached 64 players on current gen consoles and PC, 24 wouldn't hurt too much. They'd need to use maps like Coagulation though, smaller maps like Lockdown and Zenith won't work well with hordes of spartans and elites charging for the sniper.
  13. FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRST THIS TIME! Blake man, or I'll just call ya Spartan, you're a great dude and a good friend. Savor your month, cause it'll be gone in approximately... 28 days. (Note: I love hot pink so I'm writing in it, you can't stop me m8)
  14. But great find SD! I'm gonna guess these are modeled after Halo Reach armors as they look awfully similar. The first is a Minor, the second is a Ranger, and the third looks like a General.
  15. I should be able to make it, my event is on the same day and is going to be around the 2 hour mark. I dunno how long we can go around blowing crap up and have it be fun Put me down anyways.
  16. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel now has a confirmed Season Pass with some new content for the game in the future teased in the description! Borderlands has a history when it comes to downloadable content, with the original's critically acclaimed DLCs, and Borderlands 2's fairly well received expansion packs for new areas, creative enemies, great new playable characters, and other features like customization items and weapons. If the description for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel's Season Pass, according to GameSpot.com, has anything to say about it, we can expect some exciting things in the future for the prequel game. 2K released the image today, promising new challenges, characters, experiences, and maps and missions, with four confirmed major expansions and other releases sprinkled in. You can purchase the packs singularly for a fair price of $10, or spend $30 on the Season Pass to get a decent deal. Details on the expansions within the Season Pass however are slim, even to 2K Australia and Gearbox, the people working on it however. A possible idea was talked about, having Handsome Jack himself (his body double actually) as a character with how well received he is by fans. A piece of confirmed DLC, the Shock Drop Slaughter Pit, is staying put as a pre-order bonus until further notice, but it may be added to the market for it's own price. View attachment: 2640197-borderlands.jpg Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel launches on October 14th for last generation consoles and PC, with no current generations ports planned. What do you think of the idea of DLC already in development for a game that's basically in itself a DLC developed into a full game? Discuss it below! Thank you very much for reading everyone!

  18. Hello everyone, Edward Kenway here, I know my name says Omega right now but I'll be changing back eventually, so fear not those who knew me as EK, you won't have to adjust for that long! Anyways, PAX gave off some super gaming news. In news I'm not covering here, Halo 2 Anniversary has some new sound design, some new Dead Island 2 stuff was released, and Saints Row IV is getting a remake and some DLC. Let's get down to the news! View attachment: WNW 83014.JPG State of Decay Getting Xbox One Port State of Decay was massively well received as a breath of fresh air for the dying Zombie theme at the time of it's launch on Xbox Live and PC, being (at the time) an innovative experience as players lived in an ever changing, unscripted world with the undead running rampant, however today we see games like DayZ, H1Z1, and others accomplish the same in larger numbers. Xbox.com has the story as it was announced that State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition will be coming to Xbox One in 2015. It will include your typical remastered contents, the game with up-scaled graphics (1080p) and frames-per-second, all the DLC, and entirely new content yet unannounced. It will launch on an unconfirmed date in 2015, I would guess sometime in Early Spring though. Undead Labs, the developers of the game and it's port, will be revealing more info on the game and it's unannounced new features later on. View attachment: state-of-decay-logo.jpg Are you going to purchase State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition (couldn't have picked a longer title) on Xbox One, or does this seem like another typical industry cash grab on a game that had only been recently released? Debate the facts below! Nintendo Announces New 3DS Design/"Next Gen" 3DS Selling tremendously well during it's two year run so far, the 3DS was a sleeper hit among many Nintendo business failures, like the Wii U. Polygon.com reports that Nintendo has announced two new and improved variants of the system, the regular new version and the XL version. The new system is labeled as, "The New 3DS" (Not kidding) will feature a better overall layout, improved CPU to allow games to run better on it, and an analog nub to act as a second thumbstick and new shoulder buttons. Other features include Amiibo integration, and sliding covers so that you can customize your 3DS with new skins. However, sad news for people who own the old 3DS, as they may be forced to upgrade in the future, with exclusive games being developed for the new hardward, with Xenoblade Chronicles being the first. The model will launch exclusively to Japan on October 11th, making it's way to the Western Market next year as a possibility. View attachment: new_nintendo_3ds_reg.0.png Are you displeased that you must upgrade your 3DS so soon after it's launch to play some future games, or is it okay and a natural part of owning a console? Discuss the ideas! Halo: The Master Chief Collection Forge Revealed, Halo 3 Gameplay, etc. 343 Industries had a lot to reveal today at PAX at their conference, with Forge details being the highlight and a surprise viewing of Halo 3 in 1080p/60fps. Ducain23 (one of our partners) recorded the whole event, which can be seen at YouTube.com, showing off some new forge features and images on Ascension. Bug fixes like inconsistent magnetization and menu issues have been addressed and dealt with, and some old features like zoom and the much requested precision control have been brought back. We have a host of new features though, and I'll list and explain several of them here. You can now snap and align objects to the ground, allowing you to easily place something on terrain without issue. Next, the palette has been improved with new natural objects and structures, and you can now pick specific palettes for objects on maps. You can also create objects in the sky in Skyboxes, like in Sandbox in Halo 3 on the grid. You can script objects, and while we're not totally sure what this could mean, we can assume players can assign objects certain activation cues or interactions, like making objects into doors. Finally there is no more budget, and instead we have an object counter currently capped at 650, at least on Ascension. Halo 3 gameplay was also shown, as said before, and looked to have very little difference to it's last gen counterpart, you can view the whole thing in the link. View attachment: halo-master-chief-collection.jpg Are you excited for Forge or Halo 3 in the Master Chief Collection now that we have seen some of these? Let me know below! 21. Saints Row news was announced at PAX today as we have confirmation of a new DLC called Gat Out of Hell and a remake on current generation consoles called Saints Row IV: Re-Elected Edition. Deep Silver shared two new exciting announcements for it's Saints Row franchise, particularly Saints Row IV, today at PAX Prime, a remake of SRIV on the current generation Xbox One and PS4, and a stand-alone DLC expansion for the game called Gat Out of Hell. Polygon.com reports that the DLC will follow Johnny Gat and Kinzie Kinzington after using a Ouija board goes horribly wrong, they are transported to the depths of hell and must kill Satan himself. No customization will follow in the DLC as you're playing as already set characters. The world is about half the size of Steelport, but will feature new activities, weapons, and clothing. The DLC is $19.95 as a stand-alone (you don't need Saints Row IV to play it) and will release on January 27th, 2015 on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and the PC. View attachment: 81EgZe9sOLL._SL1500_.0.0_cinema_960.0.jpg Next is the Saints Row IV: Re-Elected Edition, also covered by Polygon.com. This is a bundling of the original Saints Row IV game and all of it's DLC, excluding the Gat Out of Hell add-on. The bundle will be available on January 27th, 2015, the same day as the DLC. It will cost about $29.99, or a bundle will the DLC will be available separately for $49.99. New features for the game such as Kinect integration have also been teased by it's porters, High Voltage Studios, working with the original developers Volition and it's publishers Deep Silver to recreate the game. Currently, resolution and framerate for the game have not been announced, but more details should be available soon according to Deep Silver, so we may have to wait a few days. View attachment: sRIV_Reelected_Artwork_06.0.jpg What do you think of both of these announcements? Are you excited to see the Saints go to hell (literally)? Or does this seem like nothing but cashing in on Deep Silver's part? Discuss the news below! Thanks for reading!
