I'm always saying "Just ban this person please" but I agree with Azaxx...I didn't have that two page long argument with Twin about a very similiar topic just so I could endorse forum fascism after people started really annoying me.

My honest opinion is that you take this stuff too seriously and like to talk about yourself a tad too much. We should try to keep threads in the general discussion from being places for people to stoke their own ego's. Even if your being self deprecating, its unhealthy for you to think about yourself so much, and its even worse when you talk about yourself to other people. This is good general advice for everything, not just internet forums. At the very least, keep this kind of thing to the introduction forum. Apologies if this seems rather dickish.

Have you all heard of the Multi-verse theory?
VivaLebowski replied to Stealth Pilot's topic in General Discussion
You get the exact same effect when you wave your hand back in forth in front of your face really fast. Even you, the person waving your hand, cannot tell where your hand is! It looks as if your hand is in multiple places at once! OMG, does this mean there are two universes where my hand is in the right side of its motion, and another universe where the hand is on the left side of the motion? Hell no! The problem is one of perception. We can't sense things at that speed. And even with our best science and equipment, we cannot tell where the particles are...so what? This means our science and equipment are not good enough to tell where they are, not that they are in multiple places at once. allot of these guys need a healthy dose of common sense and maybe, a basic course in philosophy. Those electrons are precisely where they are, in according to laws which they follow. It does not matter that we cannot see them or that the laws are far too complex for us humans to understand. Its gods laws, and if we can't understand them, thats on us. Instead of pulling ridiculous theories out of our own pretentious @ssholes, why cant we just accept the fact that we dont know and might not for a long time, if ever? Its just more people thinking they're god and that they can understand everything. Instead of admitting that we are limitited in our understanding, we start making **** up to make things make sense. This is the exact same thing people have been doing since time immemorial. But how does that prove that you did not freely choose the choice you did? Free Will doesn't mean that you could have chosen differently than what you did. I think it means that you freely chose what you did. It was an act of will on your part as opposed to simply causation derived from chemicals and atoms and synapses in your brain. Without free will, choice is simply causation compelling you. With Free will, the self chooses what it chooses. This isn't to say causation doesn't have a strong role in that respect. Humans are animals and spirits, so it makes sense that our choice is both causation and free will. If not for the fact that humans choose evil, we could easily say that Human behavior and choice is simply animal choice that is very complex. But Humans are clearly capable of a type of morale choice which does not appear at all in the lower animals. At best, there are very, very rudimentary behaviors which resemble (but are not!) our own morale choice ability in higher mammals like Apes. -
Have you all heard of the Multi-verse theory?
VivaLebowski replied to Stealth Pilot's topic in General Discussion
The only definition of "Universe" I use is everything which exists...so this whole "multi-verse" thing just seems more like a partitioning of the one, only, universe. But the scientists who posit a Multiverse are just making assumptions which they happen to think are logical. At best, they are making up solutions to fit equations which are themselves, in all likelihood, derived from other equations. Considering how fluid and evolving scientific theories are, I bet those equations themselves are not exactly rock solid. At some point, these guys are going to make a mathematical error or a flawed assumption. And considering these multiverses are completely outside of our own (or at least our section of the Universe) it seems like we have no way of empiracally verifying they exist. And verifying that things are true empiraclly is the basis of the scientific method. What amazes me about all this is how by insisting on delving into questions which we have no way to solve, at least empirically, scientists end up wandering completely out of science. This isn't to say that the questions that they're asking arent worthwhile, and I'm not even gonna say the solutions they come up with are neccasarily BS...the point is, there's more to the world than simply science and emperical evidence, and scientists themselves, by taking science completely beyond its natural boundaries, prove it. I mean, take the whole multiverse thing....it ceases to be a scientific question and is more a metaphysical one...and this shows why people who say "science is everything" or "Science can answer every question" are completely up a tree. -
Someone ban him. Please.

This thread was an interesting read...The OP was dumb, surprise surprise. Perhaps AD posted his response before the entire forum was inundated with people like this? AD was partially right (I guess) but he was flat wrong to defend this guy to the extent he did. Interesting to see you more veteran posters hacking away at eachother

I doubt they'd be able to put something like dual wielding in. The way the Spartans hold their guns and aquire new ones in game is one of the things the entire character model is built around.

What are you looking forward to most in Halo 4?
VivaLebowski replied to Furi0usGeorgeX's topic in Halo 4
Two things: Banshees in Big Team Battle and some Team Doubles. I'm lookin forward to the campaign of course, but the MP is what really counts. -
Were 343 hinting way before anything was released?
VivaLebowski replied to Veer Zamamai's topic in Halo 4
Imma be a smart ass and say I figured the bad guy would be the Didact and the enemies would be called Prometheans when I finished the terminals. You know, its no biggie, just using that big brain I got. Didn't even break a sweat. -
Definitely want this back. Its so sad looking at Bungie favorites in Halo 3 ....its been the same ever since Reach came out.

The last video game you where good at???
VivaLebowski replied to Gamerteam's topic in General Discussion
The last game I played which I was seriously boss at was League of Legends...I can still kick some serious ass in BTB in Halo 3, though. -
What other type of vehicles would you like to see in halo 4
VivaLebowski replied to GruntNoober's topic in General Discussion
Holy crap, where'd you hear about that? That actually makes allot of sense since it feels like Scarabs really got short handed in the Reach campaign. -
That excludes me, as I am not helpfull. Welcome to the forums!

The only thing I actively dislike is the design of the Prometheans...but I might get used to that come launch OR they're might be cooler lookin ones who appear elsewhere in the campaign. Other than that, no complaints.

Maaaaaaan, the OP, as nearly as I could tell, made an account specifically to whine. In two days he has 3 posts. And I think, under all that sarcasm, I made a valid point. And I wasn't being condescending...only sarcastic. Really, Really sarcastic. And sarcasm is practically the air I breath.

What other type of vehicles would you like to see in halo 4
VivaLebowski replied to GruntNoober's topic in General Discussion
I'd be fine with the current arsenal if they simply made the vehicles tougher. Its amazing how Bungie managed to make the vehicles in Reach OP in certain situations (Banshee bomb's with manuevering) and yet oh so weak (Banshee getting DMR'd). Vehicles should be like they were in Halo 3. Other than that, I want the chopper back. I also feel like no one has really got down a good UNSC air vehicle...the hornet and the Falcon are both cool but they don't quite make it. If I were 343 I'd make the Falcon a two seater gunship which has a light auto cannon on one side, kinda like an AC-130. Then maybe just keep the other seat a passenger seat. Also hoping that sometime in the future we get a full on Scarab playable in multiplayer, but that will prob have to be next gen. -
lets talk about the halo movie if there is ever one
VivaLebowski replied to noobsgrimreaper's topic in General Discussion
Was hoping to see Peter Jackson and Neil Blomkamps version...would probably have been something. Even still, Video game movies usually suck, and making a good Halo one would be particularly difficult since the protaginist is completely faceless. So you'd either have to go with another story or try to build one around MC, which would be difficult. Making one about the Fall of Reach would be best. I'd like to see a movie which really captured the overwhelming power of the Covenant or the fear of fighting them. I mean, I would just make it a war movie...try to stay away from your typical "Okay, protaganists go here and there trying to pick up or destroy objects which destroy the world". Don't make it a typical sci fi movie about people saving the world, make it about a squad. Just have a strong cast of entertaining character actors to play a team of Spartans, have them fighting with the normal troops against the covenant assualt, keep the perspective loose so we can see the war from multiple angles, kinda like in a Tom Clancy techno-thriller, and wrap it up with some nice stuff about the Spartans helping the Pillar of Autumn escape. Put allot of emphasis on fear, having the Covenant being scary, glassing and killing civies, and have allot of emphasis on spectacle. Make sure to have lots of stuff with the Spartans using high tech equipment and doing crazy things, kinda like how Active valor (if any of you saw that) puts the emphasis on all the crazy sheet spec ops guys do. Make sure to have big beatifull sky/space scapes absolutely full of hundreds and hundreds of Covie and UNSC ships going at it. Basically, make it the good story that Halo Reach SHOULD have been and put it in movie form. -
Why do you guys even bother to respond to these people? Just let them know that this isn't even a forum which 343 views and you have made them feel much dumbr than you possibly could by beating them in honest debate. Its not as if these guys post actual cogent arguments (generally).

I thought it tried too hard to be like Alien, and it suffered from the same problems; people sticking their faces where they don't belong, that kinda thing. Basically, haunted house syndrom but in Space. It was also trying to way too clever...So the Aliens have left messages for us to go find the ultra remote weapon station where they stockpile the stuff to destroy us? Makes sense...

Whats Your View On The New Enemies In Halo 4
VivaLebowski replied to GruntNoober's topic in General Discussion
@Roun Cole Agree with that, most definitely. They just seem too colorfull, not threatening or scary enough, too weird. I think allot of guys who worked on ***anese games have actually been pulled into 343 which kinda explains this. Maybe my prob is that White and Orange just doesn't seem very scary to me. And I'm surprised that 343 hasn't really done too good on these, considering the rest of their art direction has been really top notch...but the Prometheans just look off. -
I do love the fact that no one from 343 is ever going to read this.
