  1. What he was trying to get across, albiet very, very poorly, was that this is a community run fan forum, with no direct affiliation with 343 Industries. Though we've heard rumors that 343 employee's may visit from time to time, we have no actual proof of that.
  2. This is absolutely one of my favorite features that they've included. It sucks when you accidentally click the wrong map, but I can get over that. The constant changing in Reach just really annoyed me. Edit: Hopefully when we start to get more maps via the map packs and any forge inclusions, they'll also give us an option for None, but I'll just wait and see on that one.
  3. I think he was talking about his nameplace in Halo: Reach. In which case, OP, you cannot change it. That was a Bungie feature, and when 343 took over, whatever nameplate you had at the time was what you are now stuck with.
  4. I've played games online that have had guests in them. I think the problem is attempting to use the 14-day gold trial and logging a guest in. It doesn't want to allow you to do that because you're only in a trial version of XBox Live Gold.
  5. Conspiracy! Fraud! The co-presidents of the forums becoming MoM right after one another? I see what's going on here. -.- Now all joking aside, great job Zelda, you totally deserve this title, like Vit said, always keeping things calm and willing to help out everybody. Keep up the good work!
  6. Not for the achievements, though, and that is what he is questioning. You can still get the achievements offline.
  7. That is exactly the purpose of the Like's system. It's there to use if you agree with a post, that way you don't need to add a post of your own saying the same exact thing. If you want to add something else, then so be it, but use the like system as "Yes, I agree with this" and then add onto it if you feel you must add something to a thread.
  8. :clapping: This post right here is exactly the kind of post that we need when we want something changed or added to the game. This is something that I, if I were a developer, would listen too. The only unfortunate thing is this is not the official site for 343 Industries or Halo. So, what you should do is take this exact post over to Waypoint and create a thread there, as 343 is more likely to see it. And then return to us, because we're the better forum, IMO. Again, well done, we need more members like you joining the site, making well thought out threads with actual substance behind them and not just ranting.
  9. But the problem with this is if they implemented it then you'd have everybody going into the hill for a single point, and then doing what they do anyway. Same thing with the oddball, they'd attempt to grab it, score a point, and then drop it and go back to what they were doing. So how do we fix this?
  10. I've seen some of your posts before, and I must say this is a dramatic improvement over them, so I applaud you for that. With that out of the way, I have a few questions for you about your play style and why you choose the loadout that you did. From your post, it seems like you're a close quarters kind of guy, shotguns, swords, melee's. I have a friend who plays this way as well. With that, why did you choose the loadout options that you did? What was your reasoning behind the DMR, Boltshot, Hologram, and Dexterity? I understand the Plasma's and the Mobility for your playstyle, I'm just curious about the other three.
  11. I'm here to troll your thread like I said I would. So here it goes... Troll Troll Troll Troll Anyway, welcome back my friend, it's good to see you've returned to your rightful home.
  12. So redo Infinity...? Not that hard, and it'll make sure you get all of the achievements for beating the game once you do complete it. Did you start it from the very beginning, or did you choose a different rally point?
  13. Yes and no. I understand where you're going with this, but at the same time, an Elite and a Spartan are not the same size, an elite is larger, they fight differently, they use different tactics, different muscles, etc. So why would you want to train a spartan, even in simulation, to act like an elite? No, you'd want your Spartan to be comfortable in his own armor, using tactics developed with his team, in order to achieve success, which is why Spartans are fighting Spartans. Sure, it's not "real" to think that they are going to be fighting other Spartans in actual combat, but why do people train, if not to gain new tactics and develop plans.
  14. Down boy, down. Leave the nice girl alone. Anyway, I spoke to you in the shoutbox yesterday, but never formally welcomed you, so hello! Enjoy your time here, and like everybody else has said, if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask, we're generally a very helpful community.
  15. People have been clamoring for something similar to this for ages, so... *shrug* They listen to the community in some regards and not others, just like every other game company.
  16. It was known for ages that elites were not going to be a part of matchmaking. Literally months and months and months have gone by, with all kinds of threads popping up asking the same exact thing you're asking. But the game is out, and there are no elites, and there are not going to be elites. There are a few reasons for this. Halo 2 had Elites because they modeled a character that we actually got to play in the campaign, so why not use that model in MM as well? Halo 3 had the same reason as Halo 2. Reach had the Elite models because 2 & 3 did, but notice that they started to limit the use of elites in MM games to Invasion, and specific Elite Slayer matches. Halo 4's MM takes place on the Infinity, the largest ship in the UNSC fleet. War Games is simple a simulation of a battle, not an actual battle, to train Spartan IV's. There are no covies on the Infinity, so it doesn't make sense to have them in MM. I could continue this list, but I've decided not to.
  17. Make sure all of the missions are marked off as completed for Heroic, including the prologue and the epilogue, also I don't believe a combination of Co-Op and Solo will do it, though I'm not 100% sure on that.
  18. You've been a member for longer than most of the people posting about this, so I would have thought you'd use the search feature to find the information you're looking for, but alas, here I am about to repeat it for about the 1,000th time. You are not banned from the game. You have simple been placed into the fallback hopper, which is basically a backup that is new in Halo 4. It still allows you to play the default playlists when there are server issues. Simply put, you can play the game, but all of your customization is not accessible, so it's just the basic stuff. Yes, you are in the same exact situation, and yes, 343 is aware of the problem and are attempting to correct it, however it's not a simple fix like everybody seems to think. It will take time, and there is no time frame available for when this will be complete.
  19. Unfortunately I wish that were the case, but this issue has been going on since near release, with people being pushed into the fallback hopper and not coming out of it as quickly as it was intended. My understanding of the issue is this. When Bungie controlled how Halo worked, they dictated to Microsoft what was required to run Matchmaking. When Bungie refused to sign another contract to continue making Halo games, MS turned to their in house developer, 343. Rather than 343 dictating to MS what was required, MS dictated to 343 what they were going to be using. So the system MS decided to use, Windows Azure, is a Cloud based server/storage system, and it was never designed for online gaming, and it was never tested properly for the massive influx of people who would soon play matchmaking, and so it is causing a ton of issues that they are trying to sort out at this time. When everything will be fixed is anybody's guess, unfortunately.
  20. You are correct. An email to the address associated with your GT will be sent out prior to Dec. 1st, so you'll have it sometime between now and Nov. 30th. As for your question, Ryuuzaki_L, yes they will be made available to everybody else in time. Don't know what that timeframe is currently at the moment, but they will be unlocked for everybody when 343 sees fit.
  21. I'm a combination of the two. I find a spot and sit in it until I get my kill, then I move on, and if I find somebody along the way, all the better.
  22. Yes, you can wait until all of the specializations come out, and they all will at some point in the future. Nobody knows for sure when that might be, however, so if you accidentally deleted the email, I'd search through your deleted items folder and make sure. It is also possible that you haven't received it yet, though, as they said it would be sent out no later than Nov. 30th, so just keep an eye on your inbox for an email from MS.
  23. It could be that you've been put in the fallback hopper, and that they've simply disappeared until you get taken out of it. Are you able to access anything but the default playlists?
  24. You're "screwed" when it comes to getting early access to the other 6 specializations, it sounds like. But they will be all released and unlocked in time, so eventually you will get to use them. When that will be is anyone's guess, though. Sorry I can't be more help, but maybe somebody will get an extra code they'd be willing to give you?
