Redifer117
I feel even on legendary that its way to easy and you never have to worry about how many times you die. Should there be a limited amount of lives? How many? Or maybe checkpoints?
ioniablackbird
I vote yes, but can't you just see the "one guy" running out just to burn them up?
Cortar
I vote yes, but can't you just see the "one guy" running out just to burn them up? Or it could be on a player to player basis... duh x_x

Anteraan
Absolutely there should be! This is where Firefight went wrong in Reach. Unlimited lives simply encourages reckless (read: unskilled) play resulting in the same result as skilled play. This problem is even worse in Slayer, where the point system essentially rewards both the same. Too bad the devs didn't include an xp component based on K/D. Anyway, back to Spartan Ops, here is what I would like to see: Make the missions difficult, have life limits on a per player basis. Once a player uses up their lives, they are eliminated from the mission, with no xp awarded. The remaining players continue on.

Same opinion here.
Twisted Oracle
I prefer the checkpoint idea myself
Vaulting♥Frog
I like the idea of being able to fail a Spartan Op but I dont like the thought of no XP being given. You work for it even if you do fail. I am not sure there should be a limit when you are solo'ing as you can be easily overwhelmed on higher difficulties. In a group I think their should be a pool like what they did with firefight. Each death reduces the pool while certain actions increase it, such as completing an objective or killing a certain amount of enemies.
117 Evan 117
i don't understand why there is such a big deal with having infinite lives. If you had a limit, sure it might be more of a challenge. But what happens when you have 1 life left, it is the last enemy, and it kills you, after you have just spent 20 minutes on the mission. It would suck. That's how i feel.
Chris Hansen
They need to institute this. Then they could justifibly increase the experiance you get for beating a spartan op on legendary, but not if you run out of lives. It kind of bugs me that I can be super careful and only die twice or less on legendary op but get the same exp for doing it on NORMAL.
Yoshi1176
No because i get lots of kills but die a bunch to. Plus if some one is wooping *** and everyones out of lives game over.
Fishy
I could go for a reinforcement type like in Halo Wars. You have to wait so long, then all the dead respawn on the timer. Also, I like 343i's idea of spawn on team players.

Durandal v2
It does seem a bit to easy if you have unlimited lives, i would suggest something along the lines of a Halo 3:ODST firefight life system
D-38 Boss
I think it would make sense to have the option, but i wouldn't make it mandatory to have lives. Like i said I like how casual it is, and I play spartan ops when i get angry at war games.
Kitten
i say no, unless they can create a net code that wont impact you too much when not hosting (lag only really noticeable when you add AI and scripting into it)
PlexVanguard
On easy every player has 4 extra lives, on normal and heroic, 3 lives, on legendary, 2 lives, but you can call I extra support after your meter fills up, like personal ordinance, you can get stuff like warthogs, spartan four teams, marine platoons, heavy weapons, and even tanks if you get enough. Church
The problem with a limiten number of lives would be just like in Halo Reach firefight. If you were skilled and got stuck with a horrible player, when you finally died and needed a life, Mr. Cannon Fodder would have used 'em all up. If each player had an independent pool of lives, it MIGHT work. But other than that, no.
Dragonzzilla
Whenever I play Spartan Ops, me and my team die too many times limited lives. You can die quite easily on Legendary.
LiQuid BioniX
Honestly they should just live with the shame knowing that they died fifteen times while the rest of you didn't.
N1AK
It'd be a nice option to increase re-playability. It would also be nice to do something to discourage players from constantly running in and getting killed without a plan and/or something that stops scum-bags from AFK boosting.
