  1. What would be nice is a link to the bill so members can read it. Bills can sometimes be brought forward for good reasons yet get their intended meaning "spun" into a distortion of what it intent is. I have been a voter for over thirty years and have seen bills and amendments get a bad "image" because of special interest groups who are only looking at the worst case scenario or deliberately misleading voters for group or personal reasons. I am not saying that is what is happening here, just that people need to read for themselves what is been stated and/or have the background history and affiliations of any who are defining these type bills. My guess is it is possible that the bill could be intended to deal with sites that are dedicated to disrupt the commercial revenues, maliciously miss lead consumers or cause significant financial harm to companies that are targeted by other companies or groups. Someone saying "COD Sucks!" on a site and having a site shut down for said comment being posted is beyond normal reaches of any legislation I have ever seen enforced in my entire life. There were all the stories about music and movie downloads which are legitimately considered illegal and backed by law, and how many people have you ever know that do it have any legal issue? Take the time to think things through. P.S. There are member of Congress and there aides who are always on watch any legislation that would ever hinder free speech with regards to corporate interests. As mush as politics can seem such a mess sometimes, there are actually some very good and intelligent members and advisers involved in the process. We are still here kicking the **** out of non democratic countries with our ever present freedoms and with countries like Britain, Canada and a host of others, we show how it is truly supposed to work!
  2. In regards to the bill in Congress Twin refers to remember Bluto's inspirational words:

  3. Nice grphics work by the way! Let's see what you guys have and remember let's keep this mostly gaming related.
  4. Liking this already! Was discussing my parachuting adventures with Mystic earlier this morning and told her about the "Halo" jumps. (High Altitude Low Open)
  5. You went from having a career where it your account clearly shows you know how to play the game to an account that has so many "zero" kill, "zero" assist games it is obvious you are AFK. These was not a temporary history look, I went back. There must have been 15 AFK games on the first page of stats! You were credit banned for being AFK or farming credits....period!
  6. The "Ban Hammer" needs to take into account different things. One being length of time account has been a member. Two, number of times an account has every been guilty of said offense.Three, duration of time between offenses and number of times offenses occurred back to back or within a given time frame. Four, and this is the biggest, there needs to be a responsive appeals process.
  7. You are kidding....right? You did watch the link in my post.....right? You have to accept mine and others humor : ) ! Maybe if you don't get the meaning......look at how it was possibly meant to be funny. Don't go gettin' all Kojak on me now! LMAO!!!!!
  8. I have always agreed the "Ban Hammer" has absolutely no idea what it is doing and set way to high. I have stated that numerous times in this forum and will continue to so. You again are correct about there being no legitimate, human and reasonably responsive system to appeal a failed ban system. I personally could care less if a player quits a game, yeah it is frustrating, but it happens for so many reasons so I don't get all wrapped up about it. AFKer's are more of a problem in any game type, but again...........! Point is it is unfair, it is out there, everyone knows it is there, you do get warned you just weren't there to see it. It should be based on your cumulative game history instead of a brief period. I feel for you, but I am not the "Man". Pay more attention in the future. Oh and Caboose, how about you shut your 360 off for 8 days! Turn your XBOX off when heading to the ER, LMFAO! WHo are you to tell another man or woman about his family? Push off!
  9. Nice work RANMAN. Very good post and I too am looking forward to the new box. Oh and by the way....stay away from my font! lol
  10. There is now a pinned H2 remake thread with a new poll, please cast or recast your vote here: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/597-halo-2-remastered-for-12th-halo-anniversary/

  11. Correct me if I am wrong or quoting a different interview, but what I got from the reference to "no more side stories that do not go anywhere" was referring games such as ODST and Reach.
  12. There is now a pinned H2 reamake thread with a new poll, please cast or recast your vote.

  13. Okay...way too many Halo 2 remake topics here and they are the only ones really getting any responses here. This one is being locked! The original thread stayed active throughout the whole time and needed no replacement. I will add a poll to the "Original Thread" and you can cast a vote there. If you have responded in here please move any relevant post of yours into the "Original Thread" which is now pinned.
  14. Well for me none of these are Halo features I am interested in. Halo and the Chief nor any other playable character has every had these and it would, to me, just be making Halo like some other game. I truly believe that this is not needed. Sorry, just my opinion.
  15. The other white meat.......pork! Hmmmm, now I am very hungry for some pork TACO's! The person above me has withstood the test of time in these kin forums and still has the wonderful sent of rosemary about him! The person below smells of something that in no way resembles rosemary!
  16. Just be myself baby....there is no other! WYR be an alien with superior technology or a primitive human? You see how this is played now RANMAN? No simple comments, just respond and offer a WYR! LMAO
  17. Please post this in the "Banned" thread or a response and welcome to the forums.
  18. You should post this in the Tech thread for a better response.
  19. I will list any related information here in this OP that refers to any discussion, interview or video that offers any insight into the question o which engine is to be used. 1 ) The first is from nowgamer.com via N4G and dated June 14 2011 and is a quote from Microsoft Game Studios corporate VP Spencer: Article 2 ) The next is a statement by Frank O'Conner and posted in CVG dated November 14 2011 and is a quote from E3: Article 3 ) This is again reported PCWorld on November 14 2011 as seen here: Article 4 ) This is an actual interview with Spike TV at E3 in Frank O'Conner's own words: Video 5 ) This is a video interview with Josh Holmes and Kiki Wolfkill by Game Informer dated October 26 2011. The key part referring to the engine takes place at 19:30 in the interview, but the entire interview is the best non stop back and forth discussion of the new game and the environment, music, sounds and the inclusion of more of the Halo history. The character of the Master Chief will also be more revealed to the fans as well. : Video With all of this information it is still not completely clear what the actual engine is other than a culmination of engines. It is clear that it was stated, "343 obviously has partnered closely with Bungie for a while," Microsoft Game Studios corporate VP Spencer said, "We had been working with them on Halo: Reach and map packs. We started with the code base from Halo, so it's not something we had to re-roll from the beginning. [Chief Technology Officer] David Wu and the team behind the core engine tech inside of 343 have done a lot of work." Does this simply mean it will progress as in the past? Even by using part of the Reach engine, as well as others, would it be a completely new experience? Since being partnered with Bungie so early on, it would allow them to use just the code or writing they want minus, all the features of the current game, as they have done in the past by just bringing the best parts forward. I hope this gives a clearer picture than some of the misinformation that I had even had.
  20. It is good to be back from the land of the sick. Two days of pain and misery are over and hope no one has to go through what I did.

  21. I am going to revise my thought on this for now. Remaking the original game was a novel idea. It truly was a hallmark game and was the beginning to the series. I have stated somewhere else that instead of now remaking the older games that maybe just bringing the original maps of Halo 2 back would be enough. There would hopefully be enough thought given to the potential of including the maps some day within the new engine for Halo4 that it could be possible. The game is missed by so many and either having the maps or possibly bringing the original system back online for the fans would be a consideration. If they do any of this it will be long after Halo 4 arrives.
