  1. Democracy > Anarchy. And I got elected because I'm a badass and the people of the forum recognized my badassery and voted for me. If there WERE to be a totalitarianism, you would want ME to be the one calling the shots. Mainly because I'm too much of a softie to rule with an iron fist, but smart enough to be able to rule effectively.
  2. I just added a tracker for how many people I've helped out so far to encourage more people to seek my help.
  3. I can, but it would take forever, so instead I will give you a link so you can see for yourself! http://www.343industries.org/forum/members/page__sort_key__joined__sort_order__asc__max_results__20__st__18420All you have to do is click "Next" when you reach the bottom, and repeat.
  4. You guys should REALLY read the forerunner saga... No, REALLY. I don't want to spoil this for you, but things are explained in the books that would smash this theory to threads.
  5. Unless you make the moat with lava, then you aren't going to kill them and it's a bad idea to try. All mobs can swim. The ditch idea gives you a chance to kill them with arrows and whatnot and then just pick the loot up. The lava eats loot however. You are one of the few people who are resistant to the effects Minecraft has on the human brain. Either that or you play single player too much. lol
  6. You know, the internet would be an infinitely less ****ty place if there weren't so many people who said "It's just the internet" on it.

  7. Depends on what you mean when you say shadow. If you mean people by the name of "Shadow", then yes. If you mean beings by the name "Shadow", then maybe. If you mean what happens when you block light, then no.
  8. Dig a trench two wide and two down three blocks away from your house. Leave yourself a little path. This trench will keep creepers, zombies, and skeletons from camping in front of your door waiting for you. If you are being chased, you can always dig away the path as you cross it so that the enemy will fall in. The only thing this doesn't protect you against is spiders. I like the the the :3 the and the <(") emoticons on facebook.
  9. It's got a few details that need rehashing (for instance why are they eating dinner three times in one day? lol) but it's a pretty gripping read. It's pretty good.
  10. Not a question. So, no. I'm not going to do an essay.
  11. The State of the Forum Address Good evening 343i.org. This is your president typing. I come before you today to address the state of the unio... forum. On the whole, I'd say we are doing great. We have tons of new members, a site format that is awesome, and a bunch of features that the other Halo forums could only dream of having. We have some of the finest members that we've had in a while, some of the nicest moderators in the history of forum mods, and have completely obliterated the spambots, with the exception of one or two here and there. The environment of the forum is one of fun, rather than one of frustration like previous Halo related forums. A lot of our members came here not realizing that this was a community forum, but stayed because of how friendly the people here are. I have to say, we are doing pretty good for ourselves. Before I go on to how we can improve ourselves this upcoming term, and my part in it, let's have a little review of the goings on in the history of the forum. At first, there was darkness. No, really, the site format used to be really dark. It was black and green, like the original X-Box. Then there was light. The newer format was a white one. Similar to that of the mobile site. With this new format, though, came war. War like we had never experienced before. This was known as the "Pre-Captcha War". Spectral Jester still has flashbacks of this terrible war. Seemingly endless waves of spambots and trolls attacked our forum. We as members could do little to help except call-outs as they appeared and tried to get us to buy phallic growth pills and pirated goods and infect us with spyware. This was a time of great stress on our moderating team, and important posts were quickly buried by bots spamming their illicit goods. Even the shoutbox wasn't safe, as trolls were ban-evading and harassing our members. We lost a lot of good people to this. The came the golden age of "Big Blue", which is the format we use now. With Big Blue came a captcha, which allowed the moderators a bit of respite against the spambots and allowed them to focus on new and creative bans for the trolls. This effectively ended the "Pre-Captcha War" and brought peace to the forum once again. We are now living in a Golden Age my fellow members. Together, we must make sure that we make this Golden Age last as long as possible. We must strive together as a community to make sure that we welcome new members and help them become great alongside us. We must be sure to learn and abide by the rules of the forum and to help others to learn and abide by them as well. No more double posting. No more team spamming. No more trolling. No more should we see the same post rehashed by others and posted again just to increase one's post count. This is what we must do to make sure that our forum becomes the best forum in the history of the internet. We must learn that people make mistakes, and forgive them of these mistakes. We must learn not to get angry at the slight things. We must learn that when a troll appears, the only way to defeat them is to point them out to the moderators and ignore their jabs and jibes. We must learn that it is not the quantity of posts that matter, but the quality. We must learn that if a forum member breaks the rules, then that forum member is threatening the very thing that makes this forum great. We must learn these things, and help others to learn these things. We cannot allow ourselves to be torn apart by petty things. We cannot allow ourselves to be taken in by oneupsmanship. Together we can accomplish these things. Together, we can stand united against the horrors of the internet and keep them from crawling their way into our forum. You should not ask, "What can my fellow members do for me?" Instead you should ask, "What can I do for my fellow members?" The following are definitions of the terms used in this post. Double Posting: Double posting is posting two times or more in a short time. The excuse for this is usually that a person had an additional thought they wanted to add. This can be accomplished without double posting by editing your previous post. The edit button is to the left of the quote button. Team Spamming: Team spamming is posting after another person, having them reply, then posting after them again over and over. It is not considered spamming, however, if it is a debate. This is usually done in the "For fun" threads, where there are no debates. Trolling: Trolling is when one person attempts to get a rise out of another person. This person will say or do anything to make people angry, mainly for attention. The ONLY way to defeat a troll is to ignore them and report them to a moderator so that they may be banned quickly and efficiently. Engaging a troll could result in a ban for yourself as well. Trolls are there to make you mad. When you get mad and try to make them mad, they laugh at you, resulting in you getting madder. Don't be a bad fish. Don't take the bait. Rehashed Post: A rehashed post is posting the same thing another person already posted, but in your own words. This is a relatively common occurrence in new threads, however past that initial chaos of people trying to get their points across, it's inexcusable. If you have nothing to contribute, do not post. If you agree with a post, instead of copy pasting that post and editing some of the words in it, quote them and list why you agree with them. Oneupsmanship: This is an age old practice. Two competitive people go out of their way to compete in everything that it's possible to compete in to prove their superiority to one another. What this USUALLY results in is an endless argument and a bunch of spam. If you are going to be competitive against another forum member, do so in a video game. Spambot: A Spambot is a person or program that spams links to try to get people to buy things. Moderator: A moderator is a member who is a part of the "Moderating Team". These members have the power to ban, mute, and change any part of a person's profile. The list of moderators can be found at the bottom of the community index, just above the list of members who have visited the site in the last 24 hours. It is to the right of "Today's Top 20 Posters". Format: Format, as used in this instance, is the general layout and color of a website.
  12. No you didn't. 1. 1.3 million Earth-sized objects to fill the volume of the Sun. 1.3 million multiplied by 672 = 873.6 million. Your answer is 873.6 million Earths will fit into 672 suns. Of course, this is a rough answer considering the surface of the sun isn't spherical and is subject to changes, sometimes changes that are even larger than the Earth itself, but you asked for a rough answer and there it is. 2. Kabobs, Kaiser Roll, Kaiserschmarren, Kapenta, Kalburabasma, Kasseri, Katiki, Katsudon, Kazandibi, and Key Lime Pie. Easy enough to figure this one out Go to halo.xbox.com, find the search bar (top right, a little bit down) and enter in the persons gamertag you wish to find out about Their rank will be listed as well. My rank is Noble.
  13. Couple reasons. 1. It was accidental. 2. It was fun! Not that has been announced, no. There may be in custom games, but if you'll recall "Classic" Halo didn't come out until about a month after Halo Reach itself did. Halo 4 will have more of a Classic Halo feel as you play the normal slayer variants though, not to worry. Jump height, speed, and a lot of things are back to the way we all know and love plus sprint. Sprint is going to be default on all players, so I don't know if you will actually be able to remove it or not.
  14. Broham, you already have the achievement. xD Seems you got it and didn't realize it.
  15. If you are in need of some knowledge, try google. Here's some tips and tricks for google. If you are looking for sites/pages with specific content you can use this command. Most sites have a descriptive title that will help you to narrow down your search. Let's say you wanted to find sites or blogs related to home remedy for sick dogs, then you would type the following into Google allintitle:"home remedy for sick dogs" and click search. You can search for more than one term. Using the + sign you can combine more than one string to narrow down your search. If you wanted cool dog toys and you entered that into Google you get a slew of sites that had any one of those terms in it. To get a more precise type into Google "cool+dog+toys". This will return sites that contain all three of your terms. Inversely, you could exclude terms from a search. Let's say you were looking for dog trainer but one who don't offer doggy boot camps. You would enter "dog trainer" - "boot camp". Now here are some to help you lose weight at work or school. Move more. Fidgeting can help you lose weight. Click your fingers, move your legs back and forth, and of course walk over to your friends/coworkers instead of sending a lazy email/text. Also taking the stairs when possible helps to melt those love handles away. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Stand more. You can burn 200 or more calories if you stand for 1 hour. You can use this tip while going to or at work/school. If you take public transportation to and from work/school and stand five days ,then you are burning at least 2000 calories in those 5 days. Drink more water. Drinking more water will help you eat less. Eating less will help you to lose weight. Drinking water before meals will trick your brain into thinking that you are full and you'll eat less as a result. Also cutting out high sugar drinks (AKA soda and juices) will help. The trick is to have a bottle of water close by and keep on refilling it throughout the day. Here's an extra tip at random. If you are stuck between picking two things, flip a coin. Then, before you look at the coin, think about what you are HOPING the coin's face will be. Now you know what you want. And if not, then take the coin's advice. Win win either way.
  16. When the first books came out (Fall of Reach, in fact) Bungie announced that the books were canon. Then they made this game seemingly as if they hadn't read the books at all, which in previous releases they were very tedious in making the games match the books so it makes no sense for them not to have here. Which is why that to this day when people ask what I think of Halo Reach I reply, "I like the multiplayer, but the campaign seems like a half-arsed attempt by a bored company to make some money rather than a loving attempt by a company to say their farewells to a series that they think of as a child."
  17. Losing. I'm bad at losing. Pretty decent at everything else though.
  18. Ah, but the "lucky shot" happenstance isn't exclusive to close-mid range shots. I'll admit that once in a while after I missed my initial shot cross mapping I spammed and got the kill based purely on luck. The problem with bloom in Swat isn't just that it slows the action down (it actually doesn't since most people either hit their first shot or just spam like crazy whenever they see someone), the problem is that you don't have to actually have your reticle on someone's head to get a headshot. What you are basically trying to say, from my understanding, is that removing bloom urges players to not pace their shots and aim, but instead to spam. However, any Swat player that even thinks they are good will see the flaw in this theory immediately. While you are pressing right trigger, it's slightly harder to aim your next shot. Not to mention that the DMR has a shot-pause. What that means is you can only fire a certain amount of shots in a certain amount of seconds. If I recall the ratio correctly, it is one shot per half second. A half second is a long time in a firefight. Honestly, I don't see spamming as an issue. The only issue that I can actually think of is that jumping and crouching would become a lot more popular, rather than strafing. But then again, jumping and crouching is still a pretty common sight in Swat anyway.
  19. If by sky you mean atmosphere, then it has a semi-spherical shape. I say semi-spherical because high atmosphere tends to be a little iffy, what with clouds, precipitation, and the gravity of our moon. But for the most part it's a sphere.
  20. There have been quite a few "Heroic Editions" of various video game series on the market. If you asking about Halo specifically, officially no. There have been "Limited Editions" and "Collectors Editions" but never a company named Heroic Edition. However, the general public (including IGN and other video game news sites) refer to these editions as Heroic Editions.
