  1. Oh please. Motion Trackers help eliminate luck and focus the action to be more skill based, and not "lol I got behind you". That's one of the pillars of Halo. Yes, the lack of MT can encourage Teamwork and Com, but not without sacrificing part of Halo. Game works with AND without it depending on the game.
  2. Halo 4 is a faster, deadlier game. The BS had it's place, and it still does. A Boltshot spawn in H3 or Reach is one thing. In H4, it is not out of place. I'm a little neutral on the nerf. I think it's fine both ways. It was the best way to nerf it though. A charge up force fire nerf would be far too strong, it would make the weapon random and unreliable at what its supposed to do. A power nerf so it couldn't oneshot would make it almost useless. The range nerf is fine, but it was also fine before. TBH though, part of me feels a cooldown nerf instead could be good. One of the problems with the BS is not necessarily just its killing power, but the fact that the whole "If you shoot and they're still alive ur dead" argument is flawed. The BS can break your shields, and be swapped out for a rifle almost instantly.
  3. I didn't like it. I REALLY wanted to like it. But I didn't. I hate the fact that you cannot lose the game. I cant think of another mode in another game off the top of my head like that. SO was slated to be a tactical game where a team of spartans has to work together to accomplish a mission. It felt like something where though you could run it solo, having teammates would increase your odds of success. Instead, your odds are always 100%, but you are meant to die all the time too, so it doesn't FEEL like you should be winning. On top of that, they decided to cram more enemies, more threats, more masses of threats into the game, making all of Chief's campaigns and their highlights look tame and easy compared to the exploits of joe spartan. But it ruins the whole "Spartans can really do it through superior skill and strategy", because you don't. You just run and die, or at least, you're kind of supposed to. SO became a party style, IDGF lulz, much like Firefight at the time, which I really dislike.
  4. Haven't played it, but I really dislike it when playlists that aren't specifically MLG for the sake of MLG mess with the values (Such as speed, damage values). And it's bad enough when they take off radar and crap. I hate it when you practice playing Slayer in the basic Team Slayer playlist for oh so long, and when a ranked, competitive playlist finally comes out, it plays nothing like it at all. The guns are different, the maps are different, the stats are different, the loadouts, everything. It's irritating.
  5. I'm a bit neutral on this topic, though there is one thing that boggles my mind. The Shielding perk. They had the PERFECT opportunity to give everyone in this thread a solution. Instead, we have the most useless perk in the game. Imagine if shielding cut your delay in half. 3 seconds.
  6. Wow, you guys are getting trolled >.< Excited for what this next gen will bring. Don't see how Nintendo is going to last.
  7. Let's have a game as deep and multiplayer accessible and versatile as Halo, with things like theatre and forge, but in a medieval fantasy RPG setting, with co op. Something you would think we would have this gen, but really, we don't.
  8. Best: Haven Worst: Complex Counting big team maps, Worst: Vortex.
  9. This post made me laugh. I love going shotgun in Halo. But I'm not going to claim it has any real purpose aside from objective carrying! It's just fun!
  10. I find it hard to adapt to it since it's huge nerf. I got used to using it a lot in Reach, and it's just so extremely weak and limited now. I understand why, and I'm not really against it. It's basically a big jump instead of "lol, fly under the map, come back in time for supper," but still. I've never really tried it seriously in 4.
  11. Oh, another way you might find yourself getting one is to play with... Lesser friends. You might get put into a game where you just might be the only person that can shoot straight. And it will feel like a bad saturday morning cartoon. In which case, obviously, play well and smart and the medal might be yours.
  12. No, it was definitely a reference to both Ragnorok online, and that one character/place/plot point in Final Fantasy XIII. /lulz
  13. Oh thank god. I thought you were serious >.< Was about to drop a post about "Not understanding what makes Halo great," and "Go play Unreal Tournament." I can't stand Halo "pros" who talk about removing aim assist. Aim assist allows Halo to focus on a wide variety of skills while still requiring good aim, but not making the game ALL about it. And it makes you feel like the supersoldier you're supposed to be playing as.
  14. The playlist is great, but yes, lag can be weird. One night it was fine, the next night Lockout lagged for me almost unplayably. Weird.
  15. Oh dear god, this thread is STILL AROUND? I feel this needs to be said again. If a "noob" beats a "pro", either: 1. The noob is not a noob, or 2. The pro is not a pro. It's not hard. And does anyone have any actual PROOF of these alleged DMR nerfs? Or are people just slating wishes and opinions as fact again? ie: Oh yeah, next map is basically maps like the pit. The pit is like, coming back yep. The pit.
  16. And mein gots, different ordinance in 4v4. <3
  17. The new forge maps are a great start. Hopefully they add more forge maps to the playlist. Or ideally, they should pick the best of these maps, add them to MM, then immediately start another forge test playlist with new maps. Or something. I'm just glad the virgin challenge is over (lol) so we can start seeing playlist updates. If they keep up the good work with Griffball and Doubles, and the new map pack is good, we'll be pretty solid. I stopped being really interested in Spartan Ops when I discovered that the missions are unlosable. And all that.
  18. When you run with them, or run together in a group when the match/round starts, they'll move you in that all the players try to squeese through areas, then you see the hilarious lag/choppy/omgwtf collision system.
  19. I don't see why anyone really would be, when leveling up is SO fast in this game. You can kill a spec. in a week, easy.
  20. On an unrelated note, using the thruster pack into Solace's beam is amazing.
  21. Playlist is great. Maps are nice. Exactly what Halo 4 needed. Hope they mix all of them into TS soon, maybe. Should have happened sooner, but hey. Let's hoo ha for a Pit and Guardian remake. I like some H3 with my H4.
  22. What are you kidding? That makes it harder to stay alive. The weapons OTHER people get are much harder to predict, and you can't just "wait" for a power weapon to respoawn. Think the Pit sniper tower. And lol, being invisible is probably the WORST thing you want to do when trying to stay alive and keep a streak. Let's let ALL the enemies know there's a dude hiding in the area. Yep. Dear lord.
  23. It's quite a bit harder in H4. It's much harder to do the "Okay, I'm going to go grab shotgun, sniper, and camp in this tower the whole game" sort of approach, due to the maps/ordinance/AAs/sprinting, and especially the respawning. On a map like Haven, you're not going to have an easy perfection if the teams are even. You just need to play well, and probably control/defend on of the side rings. Generally, try to stick with/behind your team. Watch your radar. If you count more red dots than yellow, get out of there. Go for kills mainly against mid-long range targets who are busy fighting others. Pick people off. Don't try to do it with something like a CamoAR class. Try to have the discrete playstyle. Things like, being in the middle, not backing off, harassing the same enemy, using PV, not changing position will encourage packs of enemies to hunt and kill you. Don't let yourself get cornered. Avoid CQC at all costs, there's just far too many easy ways you can die.
  24. If this next DLC truly brings 2 good small maps, and 1 good medium map, all will be well for me.
  25. I stopped reading at: "The only things preventing halo 4 from requiring skill are the dmr" Do you five shot all the time? Something tells me you don't. (Because nobody does, because it takes skill.) And at someone else's post, KDR really doesen't mean a whole lot.
