i'm wondering how this will play into the whole plot of humanity struggling for survival.... my best guess is that these races are in some sort of alliance. I guess we just have to wait and see how it all plays out

i think a gametype that provides multiplayer "combat training" would be a very nice addition to the halo series. In other shooters, like cod as an example, they have used game modes like this to give a multiplayer experience without actually competing online. This system works by putting AIs into multiplayer maps and competing in mutliplayer objectives. The AIs would have to be designed very cleverly to react like real opponents and work independently, so this would take quite a bit of effort to impliment. There would also be different difficulty settings for AIs to facilitate a variety of skill levels among players. The gametypes could be chosen by the player, but settings would always stay at default so players cannot boost off of the AIs. Any thoughts about having a game mode like this for both online and offline players?

this actually isnt a bad idea. It would definately not be OP in multiplayer game types, but it just does not fit into the game logically. Why use a full sized warthog frame just for an anti-infantry turret?? The warthog was designed to be versatile in almost all combat situations, but this idea would only limit that. The machine gun is effective for both vehicles and infantry, rockets work on both, and guass canon works on both as well

it all really depends on what gametypes you play in. For example, i have a special vehicle loadout like you do with the operator and gunner packages which can generally only be used in BTB. Some of your other loadouts with the AR and surpressor are mainly limited to smaller maps and enclosed areas. I generally play both BTB and regular infinity slayer, so my loadouts are extremely different Infinity Slayer Battle Rifle Assualt Rifle Frags Jet Pack Ammo Firepower This loadout is designed for both mid range firefights and also has the assualt rifle for CQC. I use the jetpack to navigate the map quickly and it is extremely useful for flanking from different angles. I also use the ammo package in all of my loadouts except my vehicle one, so dont mind that for now Big Team Battle Light rifle magnum frags jetpack ammo fast track/grenadier the light rifle is probably one of the most underestimated weapons in the game. When scoped in, this gun has 4 shot kill and can work over extreme distances. The final headshot is often extremely hard to hit, but it becomes second nature after some practice. This is great for maps with long stretches of land and can also give you many assists( for a team player). I normally use the magnum at mid range/ close range to make up for the slow rate of fire from the unscoped light rifle. I am extremely good with this weapon, so i have no problem using it like a primary. Otherwise, there isnt much else to meantion I am willing to give some advice, but it may be based more off of opinion than facts. First off, try using frag grenades for a little while. Yes, it is great being able to have stickies in a loadout, but that has made frag grenades become very underrated for their use. Being able to bounce you grenades is more than helpfull in infinity slayer when you play on smaller maps. They also have a larger area of effect when they explode and they are very useful for popping shields. Another piece of advice, try the jetpack. At first when i used promethean vision i never imagined ever using the jetpack in halo 4. After watching some MLG gameplay, i decided to give it a shot, and now it has its place in every one of my loadouts. Trust me, it can be so usefull for getting height advantages, creating awkward shots for opponents, and doing quick flanks behind some stubborn defenses hope i helped a bit

having the games last longer will probably not yield many positive effects for the community. the games would be far too long, so they will eventually become dull and feel extremely repetitive to most players. Imagine having to play on the same map 3 games in row, each for 20 minutes. Would that not bore anyone to tears at that point?? Also, these games will allow players to boost for challenges in a nearly endless game, and then they will just quit after they complete their objectives. 343i has stated how they want to speed up gameplay in general, and doing this would only contradict their statements

MORE BIG TEAM SLAYER MAPS would be nice. ...and relevant.
Victory Element replied to jasonwsod's topic in Halo 4
oh, there are plenty of maps to play on.... the problem is that the same 5 or 6 maps come up in every vote -
a possible reason why there is no odsts in halo 4
Victory Element replied to Caboose The Ace's topic in Halo 4
i just dont think your theory is the reason for the absense of ODSTs. Yes, spartan IVs are very effective in the field, but they serve a completely different purpose in the military tactics of the UNSC. Remember the scene in Forward Unto Dawn, when the students were in a classroom sension discussing battle tactics on a holographic grid? They spoke about how the purpose of ODSTs is to drop behind enemy lines to surround enemy forces and attack from 2 fronts. As far as i know, the spartan IVs were never used for flanking purposes as the ODSTs were. unless the UNSC has a new strategy for large scale battles, you would think that the ODSTs still served an important purpose in military operations. I'm also surprised at the fact that spartan IVs were never implimented in ODST operations -
A simple request. A benefit for all.
Victory Element replied to BaconShelf's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
i've always wondered why this feature has not been implimented in most shooters. It's a real pain having to learn a new control scheme for each game, and then i end up pressing the wrong buttons. the only problem would probably be having the on-screen prompts to pick up weapons and so on. The game would have to pick up whatever button on the entire controller that you chose to do that action and show an icon for every player. I dont think this would be hard to create, but thats honestly the only problem that came to mind -
I would not use the AR on it's own in a loadout, unless you are extremely good with the magnum. Otherwise, I normally use it as my secondary weapon while using the firepower perk, and I use a mid range weapon as my primary

I'm kinda surprised. I have always used the DMR, but eventually my performance began to decline because I was missing shots. I recently started using the battle rifle in my loadouts and I have done much better with it

I really appreciate the fact that you gave the game a second chance. Many players decided that they didn't like the changes in halo 4 and they left the game on a shelf to collect dust. Once you begin to get better at the game, it becomes a lot more enjoyable and feels like halo again

I do actually appreciate your ideas. CSR is almost pointless when you have to go on to waypoint to access it and check updates. You should be able to see your opponents rank in a lobby, because it's not like you will end up opposing your xbl friends whose ranks you can actually check. I am grateful that 343 made an effort to please the community, but they simply went about it with the wrong approach Also, this is not an official 343I website, we are only a fan forum. even if you only made your account to make this one post, we would still appreciate it if you stuck around for a while

Why are more people playing Big Team Battle than regular Team Slayer?
Victory Element replied to Echo's topic in Halo 4
Big team battle is a playlist that can appeal to many types of gamers. many casual gamers enjoy being able to use vehicles on maps and engage in large scale firefights. others prefer to have more enemies to shoot at so they can rack up big kills and achieve commendations. either way, it is a playlist that appeals both halo fans and other gamers. The 4v4 environment is not the place for many players to enjoy the game. I have nothing against team slayer, i'm just stating that it is sometimes too different from other shooter titles. 4v4 is extremely competitive and relies heavily on teamwork. Other shooters that people play usually have larger teams and more detailed maps to play on. Halo has small teams and keeps map layouts simple, and this makes it stand out from a lot of other games. Casual gamers want to play with something they are familiar with, so they tend to drift towards big team battle -
I think for these kinds of situations, a death streak system needs to be implemented. You can't just keep rewarding players and simply allow the opponents to be slaughtered.

The Jetpack Takes Strategy Away from the Game
Victory Element replied to Seth McGowan's topic in Halo 4
Using high ground and chokepoints for cover was never wiped from halo. Vantage points are still key areas on maps, take longbow and abandon as prime examples. The jet pack is a strategic tool that is used to take alternate routes to high areas that couldn't be reached by a jump. It is a matter of being smart enough to know where your team may be vulnerable from attacks when you are holding a position. The enemy is not just going to run into your crosshairs and always end up where you expect them to be. key areas on maps will always have multiple points of entry, whether it's on foot or in the air. That's the responsibility that you get for controlling the area Also, since when are grenades and the radar useless?? Not even half of halo players even use the jetpack, so they have to enter combat on foot. That's what grenades are for. Also, if you know how to use your radar, you can identify jetpackers before either of you can even see each other. The radar is your friend -

Halo 5 and assassinations, you know you want them
Victory Element replied to Halo6 Follower's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
could we sound any more like mindless killing machines.....? This is not real halo -
ctf idea for one flag in halo 5
Victory Element replied to Caboose The Ace's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
i really like this new incentive. It will prevent players from just trying to rack up big kills on players that actually want to accomplish the objective -
it sounds like it would be cool to use as more of a power weapon. It does sound very similar to the mauler, but we may not see those again if brutes fail to return as enemies. We could not replace the magnum though..... who doesnt want a handgun with a scope on it

this subject really goes into a person's morals. Is it right to kidnap children and dehumanize them to be an effective military tool?? Being a religious person, i will not go into any detail on this subject, but it was actually very interesting to think about this topic. You have to consider if one thing truely justifies the other, buti will keep my opinion to myself for now

at first, i really liked haven for team slayer and exile for btb. Now they are just overplayed, and i no longer find them as fun as i once did. My favorite BTB map has to be Ragnarok because it is a classic. For team slayer, i enjoy any of the majestic map pack maps

I said that im not against the BR being made more effective. There are just better ways to accomplish that instead of making it 4sk. An increase in range and decrease in bullet spread is all that it really needs

All of this complaining..... What is it doing?? Is it benefiting halo in any way?? Not really I don't understand what some people plan to accomplish when comparing halo 4 to older halo games. if the other games are so much more superior, then why not just go and play them. Coming to forums and expressing your opinions out of cold blood does nothing for the community. If you have a suggestion for making the game better, then at least give some logical reasoning if you want to share something. Give 343 constructive criticism, but give them some freedom to make their game unique. Pointing at the toy you want in the store window and saying "I want it" is not going to get you it. You have to work for it and show that you can take care of it first. You can start by recognizing that 343 holds the future of halo in it's hands, so it would be best to respect them for who they are. They want to modernize halo and make it unique, not just a copy of what bungie already accomplished. things will change, and there is no stopping that. if you have feedback, please share it respectfully so someone can benefit from it in the end
