#392472 Gotta Go Fast! Speedrun Community Event

Posted by Drizzy_Dan on 26 October 2017 - 09:21 AM

Hello all,

Drizz here to bring you a Sikslik Community Event production. That's right, it's as you all expected: Yoshi played no role in coordinating this as usual.

The Game:

We're gonna jump on Halo 3 360 which is now backwards compatible on Xbox One.

The Objective:

Speedrun your way through some of the funnest missions in Halo 3: Floodgate, The Storm, The Ark, and Halo. Be the first team to beat all 4 missions on Legendary with no skulls on.

The Breakdown:

I will be captaining a team to victory along with other available members of our Staff. We will also allow anyone that wants to be a premade team of 4 to be so. Must be a team of 4 to compete.

The Prizes:

Each member of the first place team will be gifted a Platinum REQ Pack on Halo 5. Each member of the second place team will get a Gold REQ Pack! Other packs given out at random ;).

The Time and Date:

We're starting up at 2PM EST this Saturday, October 28th! See you there!

Comment your GamerTags below for an invite or throw them in the LFG channel when we start the lobby Saturday!

#392450 New Site Moderator

Posted by Drizzy_Dan on 20 October 2017 - 07:02 AM

After years of Community Moderator service, it's my pleasure to announce that Church is this site's newest Site Moderator. We're putting a lot of work in behind the scenes to reintroduce the site to the public as the social hub it's meant to be and this is another necessary and long-deserved step in the process.

For the uninformed, Church is also a project lead on the beautiful upcoming fan-made Halo tribute game - Installation 01. So please give your congrats to Church!

#392437 Discord Server Launch Party!

Posted by Drizzy_Dan on 13 October 2017 - 09:22 AM

Hello beloved community,

Today is a special day for us since it marks the day that we join the rest of the world in finally launching a public Discord server. Very exciting news indeed. I want to personally thank everyone who's stuck around in these days of withering activity like Caboose, Ledgend, Sierra Forge, our Staff and Mods, and anyone who's stopped in to say hello as well.

So in light of this news we will be having a celebration on Halo 5 using the classic setting they've implemented for the new playlist. You can find the Event thread made by soon-to-be-former Staff member Yoshi right here

What does this mean for the site?

The site will function as normal but we expect most of the activity to transfer to the Discord Server for a fair amount of time until more updates are implemented.

What updates are being implemented?

Classified. But you'll like it.

What are we doing to celebrate?

I already told you I'm hosting a lobby and you can see the details in Yoshi's thread above.

Is this the real 343?

No, stop asking us that.

Comment any other questions you may have here. Again, thank you guys and cheers to some more years here.

#389588 Member Suggestion / Ideas Thread

1.remove the sprint
2.make it rated M again
3.stop making everything cheesy af in the campaign
4. STOP making master chief talk so much. It's awkward and it makes me feel like the fans know him better than you guys do.

These are valid suggestions for the next Halo title that I can agree with. With that said however...

Welcome to the 343 Industries Community Forums - a fan site. Suggestions for future Halo games can be made in General Discussion.

#389537 Splyce Wins HCS Summer Pro League Finals At DreamHack Atlanta

Posted by Drizzy_Dan on 25 July 2017 - 06:02 PM

DreamHack is a large event known esports, concerts, and other forms of digital art. It is recognized worldwide for its exceptional organization, production, and quality of entertainment. This year, DreamHack hosted Halo 5 for the first time at their Atlanta event for the Halo Championship Series Pro League Summer Season Finals.

There was a massive turnout of teams with 93 total showing up to compete. This was a huge step for Halo esports bringing in the most competitors and most live viewers Halo has had since its MLG days. Online viewership peaked at 20,255 viewers during the grand finals between Splyce and Optic Gaming.

Here's Strongside with the video recap of DHATL:

-STR8 Rippin will not be in the next season of the Pro League after losing their spot to Oxygen Supremacy.

-Oxygen Supremacy was the first team in history to relegate a Pro League team from the open circuit.

-This was the first time Optic Gaming had made it to the grand finals through the losers' bracket.

-This was the first time Optic didn't face off against EnVyUs for the top spot.

-Splyce has the youngest roster in all of the HCS Pro League with Shotzzy and Renegade being 16 years old.

Here is the schedule for upcoming HCS events for this year:

Keep tuning in to Twitch.tv/halo or Mixer.com/halo to watch the competitive Halo action. Follow @HCS and @halo on Twitter to keep up with updates in the competitive scene.

#389485 Halo @ RTX 2017 | "Halo Summer Celebration" Community Update

Posted by Drizzy_Dan on 06 July 2017 - 08:40 PM

Lots of big news in this update. For me though it feels too little too late. I'm still very into Halo 5 and I've played the older Halos recently and couldn't get back into that slow gameplay. I'm still excited for the rise of activity the Halo community will see.

Welcome to the site Zyrax Starfire. The servers are usually pretty whacked out. I would suggest always beginning with a hard restart of your Xbox. I used to have to do that every time I started my game. It's annoying but can prove to be beneficial.

#389339 Member Suggestion / Ideas Thread

Posted by Drizzy_Dan on 01 June 2017 - 06:27 AM

Set forum to self destruct

Alright, so with the Cooliest Drizzy_Dan Administration wanting to make the forum great again and as we all know theres the whole issue of well us the members being a rare breed so the Staff can't do anything with no community what about increasing interaction on the forum like objectives etc that allow members to get awards and what not I believe giving us a reason to come back would be fundamental in bringing the desired activity numbers back. Halo 5 literally was a kick in the pants to the forum which is why the numbers have dropped I know it wasn't the start but it was what finished alot of people off after bleeding out.

Community Events could see a return as well but once again the staff would need that interaction/member count to make it a sustainable thing to do. Maybe a site refresh of backgrounds/banners could help freshen up the forum too.

I also think the news group could come back too as another way to keep a lively flow of activity so that the forum doesn't get stagnant having a constant flow of news would provide new things to talk about. (maybe revitalise the Youtube channel and post a weekly recap of news on it as well as forum machinimas and other content)

Streams could also be featured maybe? to have engagement or things to watch?

We're certainly on the same page.
